I got here around 7 20 am today for the buffet ..and they were rushing around putting out juices and other items. They start the buffet at 7 am and start serving "menu" breakfast at 6 am. The ham was greasy, the French toast was cold, and there were no bananas for the cereals. My server was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the buffet set-up. The scrambled eggs were fine. The scrapple was tasty. The juices are included with the buffet. I enjoyed them all. I would come back again for breakfast and order off the huge breakfast menu. You get a free donut and a glass of milk with your breakfast platter.

Visited this place after taking my niece and sister-in-law to the farm for a petting zoo kind of day. We all got buffets. So, it was great. The food was all Dutch style and really good. Good selection and quite tasty. Additionally, there was a HUGE selection of desserts - mousse's and other really tasty cakes and different snacks. Also, we got ice cream as part of the buffet. Best way to eat 2500 calories in 30 minutes! Also, there was a toy train rolling around which kept my niece entertained. (she's 2, so fun things can happen over and over and over and over again and she'll giggle each time. Awesome)

The Oregon Dairy is practically a staple for my family whenever we're all home. The breakfast buffet is quick and easy and filled with delicious options from nutritious and delicious to calorie-loaded, scrumptious arrangements. Seating is quick. This weekend the restaurant was packed and it took 20-30 minutes to seat my family - a party of 9. When we were seated they brought coffee to the table and let us know we could enjoy the buffet at our own pace. Every time someone got up a server was quick to the table to remove an empty plate. The food is good but the loving, home style feeling you get when walking into this restaurant is really what makes it so great.

Breakfast buffet is filled with many options and everything I tried tasted great. I will say that while we were eating, we noticed management being rude to one of the bussers who had walked away from cleaning the table for a moment just to grab a high chair for guests. We were a bit put off by this. Our waitress was very friendly though.

We LOVE this place!!!!!!! You can't beat the food quality/portions/price!! "Good Dutch home cooking". We come for breakfast often...You get FREE milk, bakery fresh donut, and your choice of coffee, hot cocoa w fresh cream or tea with your breakfast (about 5.99!) Very kid friendly too! I love OD!

This place is a nice little whole in the wall. Good environment, very home town feel. I may have been the youngest person in her eating but still a nice place. I see a lot of post about how the food is amazing! I have traveled a lot and I had what the waitress told me was a signature item and ordered a lot, chicken and waffles and it was average at best. I have had southern chicken and waffles and Belgium style chicken and waffles and these were not even close to the same level. Nice place to come once and see how you like it, but i wouldn't make it a must stop every time I were to come here.

I'm from NJ and booked a birthday party there with about 15 people. Here are some of the positives: They where willing to separate the checks. The went to the grocery part of the dairy and picked up our birthday cake and provided candles Our waitresses where extremely nice! The gratuity was added to our checks and we gave additional along with birthday cake for our waitresses to take home About half of us got the buffet and the other half ordered from the menu. All of the food was amazing! Also came with home made ice cream from cream right from the dairy. (21 flavors to choose from) Almost no wait time. We were seated in a private room since it was ten or more. I really don't have anything bad to say about the place. Everything was great!

Oregon Dairy is a great place for breakfast! The coffee is delicious and, instead of the server coming around to refill, they bring a filled, insulated carafe to the table, so you can refill whenever you're ready for it. The food is very tasty and always well-prepared. I e never had the buffet, so j can't comment on that. I've also never had any meal here besides breakfast. There is a small room off the main dining room that is great for breakfast meetings.

There are SO so so many better diners around. I suppose this is supposed to be a restaurant, but the food is very diner-ish. And just awful. I avoided eating really, but sampled from the table around me. A hash brown tasted like McDonald's, the mac and cheese was overly buttery and floury with over cooked noodles, and the food in general was far underseasoned. It has a clientele though, you'll notice. It's just a very outdated place with sub par food. The little ice cream place attached to the restaurant is pretty good though. The ice cream is really creamy, and it's well priced, but I would argue they serve you far too much in a cone (it's inedible in cone form and you have to get a dish. This actually annoys me personally).

Our family went on a Saturday evening and had a good meal. We all got the hot buffet with soup, salad and dessert bar. Food was excellent and we'll stocked. It got very busy which was a good sign. This was our first time and will definitely be back. Kids got a little goodie bag too, cool little touch.

To be honest, the Breakfast Buffet could be a little bigger, though I did love whatever that thing was that was like a hash brown stuffed with Eggs, Cheese and Bacon. They could improve the Hash Brown Casserole a little, maybe add something to it as it was a bit bland. I did love the selection of foods, but as I said, could add a little more to it. To top it off, I wasn't charged for my Cranberry Juice though I had 2 large servings of them. I love home style cooking like this though, and hope to come back here and get dinner. Its worth it to get food here before you grocery shop.

Do not order any fish. The two plates we got (tilapia and haddock) were both scorched to the point where the waitress comped the tilapia. The table bread was cold. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. The spaghetti was very good however. The chicken was good too.

We just moved to Akron, PA and were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled onto the Oregon Dairy. The restaurant is quite busy and the market has many freshly made items. Of course everyone we know knew about it but didn't let us in on the secret. That's OK because it was a treat to discover it on our own. The food is good at the restaurant and they do have a buffet and salad bar with the regular stuff. The buffet is very Pennsylvania Dutch as is most of the menu. If your traveling into Lancaster for the Dutch treatment, a stop at Oregon Dairy will do you well.

Seeing as we are gluttons for punishments, or just simply gluttons, we decided to expand our horizons and waistlines by heading to the metropolis of Lititz and the Oregon Dairy Country Restaurant. Now like so many other Dutch complex-compounds in Lancaster Country, Oregon Dairy has more things going on here than a Swiss Army Knife. It's a restaurant/buffet/gift shop/bakery/supermarket/petting zoo/playground/corn maze in the fall/with special event days and family farm days sprinkled through out the year. We arrived just after lunch started and were seated promptly. Our server "L" was awesome. She was entirely too chipper, happy, and smiley to be working in the service industry but she did an amazing job keeping our drinks refilled, our plates cleared and was she consistent from beginning to end for not just us but for all of her tables. Naturally we opted for the lunch buffet and while the size of the buffet is small it is solid for what it offers if you know what to expect. The first difference in this place's food versus Millers or Maple is in the seasoning. The food at Oregon Dairy is clearly fresher, simpler, and more dutch-like in that there is minimal spices/seasonings used. The food's natural flavor is the star and your taste buds are not pounded into submission with salt, fake spices, and tons of unnatural MSG laden sauces. I'm saying that this is health food but it does come across as lighter, cleaner and you don't feel like ate a fried torpedo when your done. They had two soups (broccoli cheese and chicken rice) a decent sized salad area with maybe 8-9 different dressings. The main courses were Salisbury steak, halupkis, tilapia, mac and cheese, sweet and sour ham balls, pot roast, and about 10-12 other things that my brain is too calorically glazed over currently to remember. Everything I tried, while not spectacular, was solid. They also have a full menu that you can order ala carte from if the buffet doesn't interest you and based on the number of locals that were here for lunch in the middle of the week clearly they are doing something right with what they offer. The only buffet disappointment was the desserts. It's mostly different piles of dirt pudding and other big mounds of creamy pudding this or sugar free chocolate dutch something or other that I could have cared less for. But that's OK because they have a plan anyway. When you order the buffet they throw in a scoop, and a big scoop it is, of their ice cream (they offer 30 different flavors) that they make on site with milk that comes from their cows. After a taste of the ice cream I no longer felt disappointed in the dessert offerings and I also understood why no body who was eating from the buffet was taking any of the desserts either. The food at Oregon Dairy is far from gourmet. But it is simple, solid, and unpretentious and those qualities are all winners to me.

Only been here for breakfast and lunch but it's great home style cooking. All breakfasts come with a small white milk and warm glazed donut! The food is good and the staff is always very friendly.

This is the best breakfast in Lancaster County. Awesome baked oatmeals -- the best -- and excellent omelets are on the menu. There's a breakfast buffet, but even though it has everything you could want, I usually stick to the menu so I get a freshly made meal. (I never eat enough to make a buffet worth it, anyway.) My absolute favorite omelet in the world is the spinach and mushroom here. Mushrooms are grilled first and carry a smoky, lovely flavor to the dish. All breakfasts come with milk and a donut, which always makes us giggle a bit -- there's SO MUCH food! You hardly need a donut; we usually take ours home, and they're happy to oblige you with a take-out bag. Service is excellent; some of the ladies who work here have been on the staff since at least 1995, when we started coming. Seating area is spacious though often crowded and busy. An overhead train entertained our kids for years, and in the warm months kids can go outside to the play area or to feed the goats. Lunch and dinner are much less appealing menus for us, but if you like Pennsylvania Dutch fare, this is the place to get it. Their Rueben and Rachel sandwiches are very good, and their ice cream is excellent.

We were advised to come here by one of the local shops. Draws from a large area, but clearly more of a locals place than most we saw in our drives in the area. I can only speak for the deserts--the ice cream is clearly "homemade" (this is a dairy, after all) and very good--not excessively salty or overly sweet like a lot of "homemade" ice cream I've had. The pies are good--wasn't sure what to expect with the "shoofly" but it was very nice--good crust and not overly sweet for something made out of molasses. Was very busy at 5-6 on a Saturday in February, so I'd expect a wait at a normal meal time on a weekend.

My boyfriend and I love coming here for breakfast. Everything is always hot and fresh. We haven't left yet with finishing our plates clean. The portions are big and filling. We usually end up sitting at the diner counter rather than waiting for a table as it gets crowded on the weekends.

Floods of old people with coupons, EVERYWHERE! The food is re-heated nastiness and the dust on the artificial flowers tends to make it's way into your food. Screaming grandkids angry that the cheap crayons and choking-hazard-in-a-bag that is given out to each visiting youngster is not enough to keep those monsters entertained more than a few seconds. The décor is drab, but there is an annoying train that runs above your head, interrupting any conversation at your table. Yay for trains, I guess. Make sure to visit the nearby playground that stray cats use as an outdoor litter box, as well as the company-owned petting zoo. If you're extra-energetic, you can take a stroll down to the caged deer. After all, it is tick season, and contracting Lyme disease would make the restaurant's food taste better.

Went to the restaurant yesterday after reading the reviews and was very pleased when we arrived. We took our kids and they also loved it. They have kid menus as well as goodie bags that kept the kids occupied while waiting for the food to arrive. We went for breakfast the food is good and the prices great! Service was excellent, restaurant and bathrooms clean. Took kids to the adjoining park afterwards which was cute. Definitely looking forward to going back in the warmer months to try out their icecream and snack shoppe.

Great Penn Dutch comfort food! They have a huge menu with everything from chicken pot pie to scrapple. Both the breakfast and lunch buffets have a huge selection; with the lunch buffet you get a scoop of ice cream for dessert (made from the milk from Oregon Dairy's cows). Sometimes the waitresses can get a little cranky, but most of the time they're sweet and attentive. On Sundays it can get very busy here; however the counter is first come first serve and there's usually always seats. Another tip: since the restaurant is owned by (and connected to) the grocery store, you can use its "gold card." You can earn free dinners and gallons of ice cream.

Comfort food at it's best. Firstly, the food: The buffet had a great assortment of fresh PA Dutch country foods like pot roast, salisbury steak and sweet and sour ham balls,(I love the name of that last one). The salad bar was very good. By the time we got to the dessert bar we could only nibble. They had about five types of puddings, pies and cakes. It all looked good. The food overall was delicious as plentiful. The atmosphere: attached to a grocery store and tasteful gift shop this restaurant would appeal to locals and tourists alike. Great counter in the front for singles and tables galore for all guests. A quick look around at 12:00 on a Monday you will see a sea of grey hair. A crew of professional waitresses respectfully attending their guests was a welcome sight. This is the type of place your grandma would take you as a kid, and for me that's a good thing! The bill: After an enjoyable lunch the waitress offered us our complementary ice cream scoop and the check. Both surprised us. We actually turned down an ice cream which shows the amount of food that was served. But what really shocked us was the bill. The prices were so low I actually felt guilty. On the way out we stopped at the gift shop then took the kids to the adjoining playground. Overall a great time.

I based our excursion out to the Oregon Dairy Country Restaurant on the amazing reviews listed here, but I have to say I did not experience good tasting, quality food at this place at all. Yes, there menu is made up of comfort foods and the long wait for a table made me feel confident that this place is popular for a reason. However, when our food did arrive it was completely bland and frankly seemed like it had been sitting out for awhile. My husband ordered the pig stomach and a side of chili; I ordered a coffee (which was very watered down and tasteless), and the potato soup in a bread bowl, which was notated on the menu as a "favorite". The chili was decent, but when my soup came, it a film over the top which indicated it had been sitting for awhile. The soup itself had almost no actual taste and I ended up having to add a ton of salt and pepper to make it somewhat edible. The bread was also bland and I ended up eating about a quarter of my meal. My husband said the pig stomach was okay, but extremely salty and dry. To be fair to the restaurant, perhaps we just happened to have a fluke experience at this place, which could be considering the rave reviews it's received listed on Yelp. However, my husband and I are by no means high maintenance or picky diners, but the food at the Oregon Dairy Country Restaurant left much to be desired. I can recall have better tasting meals at Denny's.

Yes, this is one of those places that if you ate here weekly, you'd look, well someone who eats here weekly. You'd have a big smile on your face and a triglyceride count that could top five hundy. So it's good for me that this place is about an hour away. The food is pure Penn Dutch and, if that suits you, you will indulge in warm bacon dressing and cracker pudding. I actually drizzled the bacon dressing over the cracker pudding; no use in wasting more dishes than necessary. The waitstaff was right out of central casting and the bill was really really criminally low. Simply put, if you want a lot of good food cheap and have had enough of the South Beach Diet, give the Lancaster County Diet a try. You will die happy and prematurely.

This was a great find for a hearty breakfast! I'm a foodie and loved my omelette with sautéed spinach and portabello mushrooms- plenty of veggies. Husband and daughter had pancakes and stuffed French toast- all delicious. And the milk and doughnut that came with my omelette were great. Highly recommended!

easy parking, little to no wait, typically has decent service, and food is average. frequented by locals. have had various experiences here - from not-so-good service/food, to average service/food. Bottom line is we come here very occasionally. Their biggest winners in my opinion are the homemade baked oatmeal & the fresh milk - chocolate or plain! We do stop in the summer for the outdoor seating/ice cream shoppe & enjoy on the outdoor deck while kiddos play in play area. Overall, a decent place.

Overall, this is a really good buffet with really good service and well worth the price! === THE GOOD === - Food. While it's not out-of-this-word fantastic food, it's still really good. The number of different kinds of proteins made each trip something different. - Ice Cream. They make their own ice cream (technically, they ship off the cream and recipes to get it produced) and it's a nice option to have for dessert after you've finished with the buffet. - Service. In addition to providing our toddler with a kiddie bag (fun ball, Teddy Grahams, etc.) our server was very attentive and helpful when we were asking questions about the buffet and dessert. - Play Area. Outside the restaurant, there's a fantastic play area for kids, including some goats, swings, huge slide, etc. It's a nice way to have the kids run off some of the sugar after dessert. === THE BAD === - Lack of Options. While there were a lot of different kinds of proteins on the buffet, there weren't a lot of other options. In fact, there were no green vegetables (green beans, broccoli, etc.) the day we visited. It would be nice to have at least one green veggie (steamed!). - Buffet Dessert. Definitely go for the ice cream for dessert. The buffet options for dessert weren't that great. Most were bland or just didn't have a good flavor.

Good service but bland food. Definitely feels like it caters to older folks and small children. Not that many choices, all the chicken choices are boneless chicken breast. The soup and salad bar has a choice of 2 soups and a lot of greens and veggies. I had the steak (only sirloin available) and it was tough and under seasoned. The shrimp choice is pretty much popcorn shrimp and was OK.

Oregon Dairy Restaurant does country diner very well, and I would come back again next time I am in town. Came here for lunch over the weekend and the took advantage of the $14 buffet. They offer an extensive fresh salad bar, dessert bar, soup, other appetizers and the home style fixin's station. I focused mostly on that fixin's station. For meat they had: chicken, Hawaiian ham, small fried shrimp, ham balls, smoked kielbasa. For sides: corn, succotash, stuffing, mashed cheesy potatoes, mac 'n' cheese, sweet yams, chicken pot pie, stewed tomatoes. Now, you might read this and wonder why anyone would come to eat any of this plain food? Well, the answer is while they are simple dishes, all of them have a tasty, special touch that you have to come and taste. I could dedicate a few more paragraphs explaining the special touches, I won't, and will instead recommend coming in to try for yourself! The donuts here are made in the full bakery next door. Milk is from their dairy. The cream from their ice cream is sent out for processing, and boy is it good! I tried the strawberry and cream, which by the way, a "lick" of comes with the buffet, and it was so rich and creamy and tasty. Mmm wish I could get this kind of ice cream closer to me. Atmosphere is nothing special. They have dated finishes on their counter bar, floors, tables, etc. The walls are accented with metal country-style decor, pictures, etc., but not of this should deter one from enjoying the food.

Delicious dinner. Sampled croquettes, ham balls, chicken and waffles, Shepards pie, and sweet potato fries. 4 people and 2 kids ate well for less than $70.bAll were DELICIOUS. Afterwards, ice cream... 4 people and 1 kid ate less than $20.

Michelle was our waitress. She was a very sweet lady. I had the one pancake breakfast. I have to say this is one of the best pancakes I have EVER had. So yummy. It was dense, and had a nice crisp on it. The free donut with breakfast was a nice perk. I wish we had this back home!

I frequent Oregon Dairy for lunch or dinner. They are always very friendly and welcoming. Food is quality; home style. Buffet always has a good variety of hot food. Cold bar, and dessert bar.It can get a but loud depending on the crowd there as it is a family restaurant, but never obnoxious. Never had a bad experience, although some servers could improve their people skills. Also has ice cream shoppe with a deck and playground if you have kids.

Although the other reviewers here are quite positive about Oregon Dairy, we had an altogether different experience. Perhaps it is because we ordered off the menu instead of the buffet (the buffet closes an hour before the actual closing time, so it wasn't an option for us). We had the pork and kraut, which was dry, flavorless mush - I don't think there was a grain of salt in the entire dish. The mashed potatoes were also flavorless, whereas the mac/cheese and corn nuggets were fine (but nothing special). The shepherd's pie had similarly tasteless potatoes, although the meat mixture under the potatoes was okay. The best thing I had the entire night was the chicken and rice soup. We won't be going back.

Great place for a local - and Great place for an out-of-towner. I am a local and dine at Oregon Dairy at least once a week, often more, and here's why: 1) Food: my "eating out" is almost exclusively breakfasts. I conduct many personal and business get-togethers at the breakfast table and Oregon Dairy has become my hands-down favorite over the last few years. Because of this, my "food" rating is based largely on their breakfasts, so take that with a grain of salt. But I love the fact that you can get traditional Lancaster County eats, but they also mix it up with unique rotating specials. In particular, their Baked Oatmeal is always offered with some creative twist. The most recent sampling I had was their Ginger Bread Baked Oatmeal which was delicious. 2) Atmosphere: again, I eat here primarily to meet with people, talk, discuss, argue, laugh... and this is the perfect place. It is as close as a restaurant can get to feeling like your own living room. They also have several semi-private to private rooms/areas for larger groups... which is great. 3) Staff: Having good employees is such an over-looked aspect of any business with direct customer interaction. Part of what I love about Oregon Dairy is being able to walk in, say hi to several different people who know me, and I them, sit down and be waited on by a friendly smiling face. Yelp requests that you not do a review of an establishment if you are "connected in any way to the employees." Well, that seems misguided because for me - if I go someone frequently I want to feel some connection with the people I see. And at Oregon Dairy, I do now have friendly relationships with the great people that work to make each experience an enjoyable one. 4) Cost: The cost is exactly what it should be - not much to say here except that you'll leave feeling you got your money's worth... another thing that is all-too-rare in restaurants these days. So overall, I'm obviously a big fan. Oregon Dairy is a Lancaster County country-style restaurant and if that's what you're looking for then this is the place as it is far above average.

Food was good, solid country staples and very reasonably priced; not a huge selection, but what is there is very good, and feels authentic, good country food. They don't advertise "international buffet" they advertise "country dinner" and that is exactly what you get. We went for the buffet on the recommendation of a person at our hotel, it was SOOOO reasonably priced, and the food was solid. They gave my kids each a little gift bag with a rubber ducky and graham crackers, and each meal comes with a dip of ice cream - DELICIOUS ice cream to boot. Outside they had free music on the deck, a jump pad, a little petting farm, clean air, and friendly people. It made me so happy to have taken the time and brought my family there...I was not disappointed...if you are in the area with little kids this place is perfect!

The food and atmosphere is a Dutch style diner and really good. Good selection of all kinds of food and quite tasty The ingredients are of good quality in everything I have had. .I have been here a few times and I am fan. This place has great breakfast buffet one thing that sets it apart is their homemade donuts. They are some of the best donuts I have ever had! The price is a little on the higher end not bad. If you are in the area you have to give this place a good the experience alone makes it worth your time.
