I'd visited before, when the name was Bagel something, and it was quite good, with a staff who seemed genuinely concerned about customer service. Not the case anymore. I ordered a corned beef and coleslaw on rye (sort of a standard at any deli) and explained I only wanted to place the order if the corned beef was lean. They assured me it was, and that if they found it, they would trim any fat off. Further, nowhere on the menu did it indicate that their version of this was a grilled sandwich (not only the sandwich itself, but the actual meat was fried). A glance in the kitchen revealed other fried things were done in some sort of liquid solution squirted from a bottle - eeew. When I got home (20 minutes away, I opened my take-out container to discover a greasy, fatty (like seriously, half inch strips of white fat), fried mess, with a side of the most awful tasting macaroni salad I've ever had. It was so bad, I called and asked to speak with the owner, who without apology informed me: "Well, that's the way we make 'em, and you can't cut off all the fat." (Um, then maybe your employees shouldn't tell people you can.) Next time I'll follow my first instinct, and go a few doors down to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and would highly recommend the same to others..

First, AMAZING bagels. Seriously. I'm a big fan of the whole wheat multigrain but every other bagel I've tried here is great, too. I don't know what they do, but they've got a great flavor and the consistency is perfect. They were out of lox the first time we went so we had the lox spread and that was a good replacement. We did finally get the lox w/ tomatoes and onion last week and it was worth coming back for. They also serve sandwiches and wraps during the day with Boar's Head, these are also a great lunch option. Make sure to get the house made bagel chips! The folks that work here are so friendly! They make you feel like a regular immediately. My husband and I have made it our new weekend bagel/coffee/newspaper destination.

This place is now called NYCafe. Before when it was NY Bagel Cafe and Deli it wasn't bad at all. I liked it and that is the reason I went back. Upon my return I noticed the name change and just figured I'd still give it a try again. When we walked in there were five customers already seated with their orders and three employees working. I noticed that the place was dirty appearing that no one had cleaned up after the previous customers. We placed our order which consisted of one toasted onion bagel with scallion cream cheese and toasted onion bagel with lox and cream cheese. We requested that both bagels be toasted only one side as bagels are only supposed to be. Some places toast them on both sides. And of course coffee! Customer service was not very friendly either. So we sat down and cleaned off a table to wait for our order to be made. This is where I noticed that they have a table for self serve coffee with seven different kinds of coffee. However, only three coffees were available. Our order was ready and I was disappointed from start to finish. Three times more cream cheese than bagel. Poor excuse for scallion cream cheese. Bagel was not toasted, appeared to microwaved and gummy/unbaked. Overall, this place is not what is use to be and I will not return. I would be better off going to Giant and getting some Philly cream cheese and one of their bagels.

NY bagels finally available in Lancaster. These guys import them daily and you can tell. These aren't your average bagels from the supermarket, NY Bagels are a special treat. Soft yet chewy, but they won't break your teeth. We go often for lunch the bagel sandwiches are great. All of the ingredients are fresh and the meats and cheeses are top quality. We've even stopped by in the afternoon for desert and a smoothie. Made with fruit juices they are really tasty!

Went here on a Saturday. Lots of confusion behind the register. Man in front of us was arguing about his bill. Three people behind the register, one who looked to be the owner or manager. This problem shut everything down for a solid five minutes. Line got long everyone as one waited. Food was just OK.
