Declining quality over the past few visits. Brown lettuce and soggy pizza despite asking for it to be well done. Noisy, dirty and not what it used to be. Guess we'll be looking for a new pizza place.

Tried again, guess I'm a masochist, I ordered a small taco pizza I got back to my car and noticed it was missing the sour cream, okay fair enough, walked back in and they gave me sour cream, honest mistake. I drove home and the pizza smelled pretty good, opened it up and was disappointed it looked good but not 1 tiny piece of meat, nothing. It seems to be common practice to hire people who don't know or don't seem to care to know the menu. Called and it seemed like such a surprise. Well we can make it again they say, okay well there's 4 inches of snow on the ground watch me drive again, ha. Strongly suggest finding elsewhere.

Solid experience at the bar during happy hour. There were lots of beer specials, $1 off appetizers and very tasty mussels with white wine and garlic butter sauce. Bread to dunk included. Friendly staff, very attentive.

We sat at the bar and drank beers and ordered the sampler. Sampler was ok. Service was good at first but once it got a little busier (not that busy though) I had to flag down the bartenders, who didn't really look that busy at all. The atmosphere seemed like they just opened and didn't really decorate. Exposed wiring around the tvs was kind of a turn off but overall, I got drunk. And that's all that matters in the end, right?

Ordered a steak salad to go. As you can see in the 2 pictures I provided. Lettuce was dis colored. Steak was not true steak it was more like ground up Philly Cheesesteak steak (which is the lazy way to make a steak salad). The only flavor was in the ranch dressing. There's water on the bottom of the salad which I guess means they didn't drain the lettuce. And the cheesy bread that came with it had very little cheese if any. The reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because I used to have a post on here with 4 stars due to the friendly staff, clean spacious atmosphere and prices but this experience unfortunately changed my opinion for now.

Good beer selection, and their food is pretty good! I like their eggplant and chicken parmesan, and they have good specialty pastas as well.

I used to take the family here for a quick and cheap dinner. The food and service were just alright but the prices were reasonable. Then I read the health inspectors report in the Lancaster newspaper. I think I puked in my mouth a little. I can't take anyone there again with good conscience unless I wish bad things on them. This restaurant was thoroughly savaged by the health inspector. Not sure what if anything they did right. BEWARE!

La piazza has really gone downhill. It's very dirty, the dinning room, tables, the menus are gross and look like a dog chewed on them. I would not recommend going here because it's so filthy!

bland, poor quality food. and talk about filthy. the board of health needs to do an inspection here, stat! owner/manager has an attitude with his staff and diners as well. wont be back.

Saturday night dinner in the dining room, probably for the last time. Food was okay, service was good. They need to take the money spent on the sax player and pay someone to clean this place. It was nasty from the dining room all the way back to the restrooms, which were dirtier than an I-95 rest stop.

Really good pasta sauces. My wife had the calzone and found it unremarkable. I and offspring had pasta and were quite happy. good service, better italian food than the standard fare we have come to expect in the area. definately worth return trips by us.

We went to La Piazza on the advice of a friend after moving to Lititz. Despite the so/so Yelp reviews, we tried it out. We were greeted immediately upon entering, but that was the best part of our experience. Atmosphere was dark, service was slow. On a day where you could count the number of customers on one hand, it took a good 5-7 minutes to get our drink order (sodas) and another 5 to get the beer my hubby ordered. The time between drinks and apps was about 20 minutes (the next time we saw our server), and then between apps and entree another 30. The food lacked flavor, presentation and freshness. Our chicken wings tasted as if they were overstock that had been frozen at the point of almost turning, then thawed for use when needed. While they were larger than most wings I've gotten at a bar, one of the larger ones was found to be undercooked (raw) in the center and we stopped eating them. The "hot" sauce was no where near hot and was over salted (more cayenne, less salt! tho I guess it's expected for a bar.. more salt, more beer sales)... The best part of the pizza was the crust. The sauce lacked flavor, the cheese was simple Mozzarella, though the amount of topping was more than expected. My hubby ordered 2 slices extra cheese/pepperoni which was extremely greasy causing a soggy crust. We ordered a slice of plain with fries from the kids menu for our daughter. The slice was ok, and nicely cut into small squares, which was great for tiny fingers, but the fries were mushy and lacked seasoning. I did the build your own flatbread, which was a good size for the price, but again, lacked flavor. We skipped dessert, as our lunch took over an hour and a half to get through and our daughter was getting bored (she's 2). I would consider this a family restaurant, but it lacked a much needed changing station in the bathroom. Thankfully, I carry a small pad with me and was able to change her on the floor. As I washed my hands, she also found a tall cabinet, unlocked (no lock in sight), full of cleaning products within her reach. My hubby said there was a bucket of cleaning supplies stored in plain sight in the men's room. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this establishment, and will not be recommending it to our friends and family.

Stick with their great pizza or generous and tasty subs and you'll be happy. Pasta sauces tend to be bland or under seasoned and usually watery. They offer a choice of pasta shapes (and don't overcook it) but no whole grain or gluten-free options. Dinner salads are simple chopped iceberg with bits of underripe tomatoes, carrot, red onion & run of the mill croutons. Service is always at least passable but inconsistent. Their extensive menu is online and they have a drive through pick-up window for takeout orders.

I love their pizza. Been ordering it for 5 years now and it's consistently one of the better Italian-American pies out there. Good sauce and meatballs, if you like those on pizza. The other dishes are decent but nothing to write home about. If it's not pizza here, then it's usually one of the cheesesteaks. Those are good as well. It's not really run like a sports bar, even though they call it one and have plenty of TVs. I've been there too many times where they were running the jukebox or even had live music during an important sporting event. They are trying to be too many things and they end up not being great at any of them. All in all, a decent local eatery with a bar. 4 stars for the pizza, bar, and location for me.

Just rating the Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad..... I only gave it 2 stars because.... 1. The price was high for the smaller portion I received 2. It was like a traditional Caesar because it had melted mozerella on top 3. I asked for extra red onions but only received about 5 small rings of onions. 5. The croutons had no flavor

Decided to give LaPiazza another shot tonight. Wow, totally wish I had not! My wife & I took her parents there for a nice dinner... Nope! It was well over 80 degrees in the dining room, and when we inquired about some AC we were told they had a "Busy Lunch Rush" that made the restaurant hot. Ok, we took their word for it, ordered an app & dinner hoping it would cool down a bit. No, but what did happen was even worse, we were swarmed by over a dozen flies. In our hair, on our arms & neck, over our food, it was HORRIBLE. At this point between the heat & the flies it was unbearable. After mentioning how bad the conditions were to our server & having nothing done about it we quickly got the remainder of our food to-go, and left. Funny, on the way out, we noticed the front doors were propped open, indicating they lied about the AC not being down and obviously explained all the files. What a horrible experience! Sad part is, the food was actually not bad... would have boosted my rating had it not been for such a horrible dining experience.

La Piazza is a an ok Italian joint in Lititz, PA. The food there is good, maybe a little predictable, but certainly cooked well. I've eaten there a few times so here are some observations; the pasta is well cooked to al dente, the pizza is good, the stromboli is even better, the bread they use for rolls and starters is nice and either made special or made on the premises, the restaurant is clean and the staff seems very friendly. (I've even met the owners and they are very nice people.) I disagree with the other review saying that La Piazza smells. It doesn't. That is not to say that it is perfect. The last time I was there the server (while very friendly) really didn't know how to pronounce the items on the menu, I was a bit underwhelmed by the seafood (very average shrimp), and it is maybe a little pricey...but that might be a product of being a restaurant in the area. I don't know, I don't live near here; I've eaten here while visiting family in the area. So I give La Piazza a 3 star review, I have no hesitations about eating here, I'd go again and again. If I had a better experience with the seafood I'd raise it to 4 stars in a heartbeat.

Ordered some appetizers for the football game in the bar, thinking to have full dinner later. Sausage...must have been soaking in lukewarm sauce for a year...mushy, tastless, cold. Mushrooms...industrial waste, tasted like crusty ball of Ajax. Ate three, threw the rest out. Calamari...cold, limp, greasy with rancid sauce..and thankully too few.. Here's perhaps why: Waited for toilet to be vacated for 20 minutes. When I finally shouted, "Hey! Howzabout lettin' someone else use it!?!?", the cook came out and went straight out the door..without washing his hands. Maybe if he spent more time in the kitchen..? Entire joint is thick with stale, greasy air. Floor staff/bartenders in the bar were EXCELLENT...friendly, efficient. Can't vouch for dining room staff. Selection of beer/liquors very good. Go for the game and a beer...and bring your own Trail Mix.

I was staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Lititz which is only a hop, skip and a jump from La Piazza, so along with my twin 7-year olds we went there for lunch. I ordered the baked gnocchi with meat sauce and my son linguine with marinara. Both pastas came with salad. The portions were very large for lunch. My gnocchi was not baked as it lacked a topping of browned cheese. The sauce tasted jarred. No not jarred as I can't remember a jarred sauce tasting that awful. Rather it tasted like Chef Boyardee, excessive corn starch thickener and all. My son's linguine sauce was better, but it lacked the bright favors that would have told me it was homemade. The accompanying salads were okay, but nothing more. The glass of chianti that I ordered tasted astringent, as if it had been open several days before and not stored properly. My daughter got appetizers of fried mozzarella sticks and cheesy garlic bread. There was no cheese to be found on the bread and not much garlic either, although the bread itself was okay, as were the mozzarella sticks. The prices would have been just a tad pricy had the food been good, it were absurdly high given the quality. The one bright spot was the waitress, who was friendly, prompt, and efficient.

This has become our favorite restaurant! The family ownership and pride shows, and the sauces are full of home-made flavor. It is clean, has a good variety on its menu, and the prices are very reasonable. This is an italian restaurant where the pasta _compliments_ the dish, instead of taking over. I have never been disappointed with what I have ordered, and seriously would like to try every entree on their menu!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
