Chef Bruce's Mushroom soup is fantastic; coupled with a delicious cocktail from Joy, you can't go wrong!

Atmosphere: I've been here many times.. I normally request to be near a window or in the bay window, but this time, I was meeting some family that had already been seated.. in one of the interior rooms (by the kitchen, and apparently under the bathroom...) Mid-meal... a drop of water hit my face, and I was thinking it was the child next to me.. then it hit me again, clearly from above.. I looked up and there was water dripping through the ceiling and hitting the fan and spraying across the room. . Oh dear.. We promptly requested to be moved.. the server was awesome, all new drinks, new appetizer... After we moved.. the atmosphere was much better. Service: Super friendly, fairly prompt, overall good service. They ended up giving us 10% off for our troubles. Menu/Food: Pretty good selection of appetizers, soups, pastas, and salads available. I had their hummus, apple / walnut salad, and chicken/biscuits. HUGE portions! You will not leave hungry.. ordered the buttered spaghetti for my daughter.. it was drowned in butter.. Final thoughts? Hopefully this drip was a fluke, I sure hope so because this place is AWESOME! Wish I could afford to eat here more often!

Great food. Great beer selection. I will go to the Tavern over the Wicked Googly for sure. I'll pick Joe's over the Google too. Tavern is a real old building (purportedly haunted) and really nice. There's outdoor seating. Sometimes bands/musicians play during the summer. Worth a visit.

Very good food. But portions are small and very expensive. With a try though.

Sadly, the fact that this joint overcharged us for our booze is the main reason it didn't score 4 stars. I'm not a cheapskate, especially when it comes to my libations so I often like to call my drink. I ordered a Stoli bloody mary and was charged $5.25 PLUS an extra $2.75 for the Stoli. Come on people, what the heck are you thinking? $8 bones for a bloody in the middle of nowhere? I find this disgraceful. Even a call drink in the city of Pittsburgh wasn't $8. The tavern is cute and quirky in that wannabe country chic way, without shoving those damn geese down your throat. A trip upstairs to the bathroom reveals a gorgeous second floor with banquet rooms and other neat spots. The French onion soup was divine and my sis' curry tuna was interesting and inspired, if not perfectly executed. Her spaghetti was another story-merely adequate but not undesirable, like an OK date that you're happy to end early. My sandwich came with homemade chips, which when dipped into the house homemade ranch dressing made me dizzy with joy. I would visit again, but WITHOUT the booze.

Took our out-of-town guests to this place for the first time - looking for a local, traditional place. Very disappointed. Service: Friendly, but very slow even after lunch crowd, from seating, to drink, to placing order, to getting soup, to entree, to getting check, to dessert - we are not picky eaters, but this is noticeably slow. Food: Best news - kid's meal seem a good deal, and the steak strip was good with the kid's meal. Bad news - everything else was mediocre to poor. Mixed drinks had so much water in it. Everything we ordered was 10 dollars and over (for lunch). The crab cake was mushy and soft, like a previous reviewer described - no sense of "lump" meat in it at all. The lobster bisque had very little lobster (if any) but huge clumps of flour ... in fact, it's a flour clump bisque. Chips that came with the sandwiches - well, at least half of them seem crispy (the other half soggy). The meatloaf was so dry and hardened that it might have sat out since morning. Sorry, really wanted to like this place and we were hungry, but it was disappointing. The menu looked "high-end" or at least "updated" ... but it almost seemed like the "real" chef or bartender were absent today, and someone was trying to make up for the difference. Ended up spending over $110 for the whole party, and more than half of the people were disappointed. Try a couple of other places around the corner in Ligonier ... this place just doesn't live up to its small town, historical diner look.

Very nice Victorian on the main road in from route 30, one block from town square. Great atmosphere! Food service was not what I would call quick for a 1:00 on a not very busy Saturday afternoon. We ate light: coconut shrimp and Cranberry walnut chicken wrap. No drinks, stuck with water for a hot afternoon. Shrimp was crispy but not to the point of being overcooked, served with a marmelade sauce with fresh ginger. Tasty! Chicken wrap was served with sundried tomato wrap and served with homemade chips which are exceptionally light for this type of item. It also was very good. Bill for two items was under $15. Great little town and would definitely recommend to friends. Some very upscale prices in shops around this place. Bring some $$ if you go in to those!

While I agree that the tavern is not the jewel here ($4.50 for a bottle microbrew), the food and atmosphere far outshine that. Made from a converted victorian, the dining room is decorated in a rustic tuscany style. During our winter visit, the fireplace was lit and made for quite a cozy experience. The server was fantastic, quick and efficient. Our food was served promptly and correctly. The french onion soup is indeed fantastic, made by a rich broth and real gruyere cheese. My wife had a salad that was no less than artisan, an my flip sandwich (ham, egg, red onion, lettuce, tomato cheese) was great. There were fresh made potato chips with the sandwich that I would have paid separately for since they were so good. With the bill coming in at $35 for two (after a 20% tip), including 1 beer, this is not the most expensive place ever. It does definitely not deserve points off for expensive drinks (visit more tourist towns, you'll see it's common).

A co-worker of my significant otter suggested this as a lunch destination during our trip to Falling Water (Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece in the Laurel Highlands of PA). I thought it was a bit of a drive but we had a lot of time to spare between our early morning tour of Falling Water and late afternoon tour of Wright's Kentuck Knob. This was an excellent suggestion! The town of Ligonier looks as if it were designed for a Capra film - not as quaint as the Gilmore Girls' hometown of Stars Hollow, but almost. There's a town square with gazebo, speciality shops nestled around, charming homes, tree-lined streets, and this grand Victorian housing Ligonier Tavern. We parked on the street and walked a block to the restaurant, and were quickly greeted and seated upon arrival. Our server was FANTASTIC! Very attentive and friendly, knew when to ask us about ordering, quick to recommend a beer or compliment us on our selections. I had a club sammich which was very good - you'd think, that's not a difficult sammich to do yet some restaurants just don't get it right. As this visit was last fall I totally forget what the otter ate but he liked it. I do remember he had a soup as appetizer that he thought was very nicely flavored. We'd love to go back to Falling Water to experience it in all the seasons, but I think it wouldn't be complete without a side trip to Ligonier and its Tavern.

Nice eating establishment . Nothing fancy . Nice bar area . Located in the heart of business district . The history of the building it's located in is worth a visit .

I loved our experience at the Ligonier Tavern. This place definitely met our needs and expectations. We were a party of 12 people and showed up without a reservation on a Friday night. It was packed, but they accommodated us and they had a great environment. We sat outside on the patio, drank some beers and listened to the live music while we waited for our table. As soon as we got our table we were sent into an individual room to enjoy our dinner. It was a great experience. The service was a little slow, but understood as they had a full house pretty much, and also the fact that we were eating upstairs whilst the kitchen was downstairs. Homely feel, great food and good live music!

Waited for our food and drinks I have been here before but this is a review for my most recent visit. My family has always enjoyed the food and atmosphere of this established Ligonier restaurant. We were always satisfied with the food and service. On the most recent visit, we were somewhat disappointed. We were a party of 6 and had to wait a lengthy time to be seated. Even then, it was a wait for our drinks and placing our order. My husband had to reorder 3 times as his first and second choices weren't available. His third pick was Seafood Lasagna which he enjoyed. The food was good for everyone else. Prices are too high when considering the lack of available choices and the 40-50 minute wait for food.

The decor of this tavern is beautiful and you definitely should try it if you are on the edge, the environment alone is worth giving it a shot. The homely interior and the individual rooms give this place a much smaller feel that I enjoyed. And of course it is in Ligonier which itself is a beautiful environment. We entered the building and were quickly greeted and seated near the fireplace. Our drinks came quickly, and so did our food. The French Onion Soup I must say might be the best french onion I have had. It took me quite awhile to break through the thick layer of cheese and bread which was a delicious task. I ordered a medium burger but it came pretty well done, it was a good burger but it wasn't particularly flavorful. Thelady got a fish wrap and she said it was just okay as well. We had been hiking all day so I just got water but the beer list looked pretty solid. This would have been a $45 meal but we had a groupon that brought it down to $23. They always have a $15 for $30 groupon going and on some days like when we went it was $9 for $30. A 4 star meal with a groupon but only 3 stars without. Good service good atmosphere but that isn't enough to justify higher prices on pretty mediocre food.

Spent the day in Ligonier walking around the shops and worked up an appetite. We stopped here for the some drinks and appetizers. Everything came out as expected. The risotto stuffed cheese balls were nothing short of amazing and the artichoke dip was ok. It would have been better with spinach in it. The pita chips were simple but tasted fantastic. Our waitress Nikki was very kind and fast. This was my first time here and I would definitely stop back again!

I was enjoying an excellent meal but mistakenly seated myself too close to bar and was offended by the loud 'unfiltered' vocabulary of the bar patrons. It ruined the meal for me. The manager, was responded quickly and did his best to encourage those expressing their free speech rights to tone it down. If want delicous food, go here-but don't be seated by the bar.

The food was good. We had the Pittsburgh Salad, Apple and Bleu salad and shrimp and crab dip. The portions were nice and filling. The sangria was flavorful and so was the Bloody Mary but unfortunately it was made with clamato which my husband doesn't like. It would have been helpful if it was described on the menu. I would have given 4 stars but the service was subpar. A little eye contact and conversation when you slap my food down on the glass table goes a long way.

Not really able to accommodate gluten free. Proudly and confidently said they could accommodate when we checked in but waitress was not as confident about this - appreciated her honesty. Neat place inside and nice menu but just don't recommend if you have a true gluten allergy

After receiving a nice response and explanation from the owner, I am revising my review to two stars. I do believe that our experience that evening was an isolated incident. We will try the restaurant out again next year when we pass through town again. I'll be sure to update again then.

If you're looking for a fun place to chill for food, drinks, and spend time with friends or family, this is the place! If you're looking for something quick, with ritz, or a touch more of class, go elsewhere. This is a laid back friends having a good time drinking and eating kind of place. I love coming to the tavern! It's a local's restaurant/bar. It's low key, usually packed, has a patio upstairs in the back. Often times there will be live music on the patio. We sat on the patio for a girls night out. Drinks were relatively inexpensive. The pizza appetizer was good. Sandwiches were great! I tried a few of a friends stuffed mushrooms and really liked those as well. This place is usually packed. The service can be slow when they are busy, so don't go in you have a time crunch. As a bigger restaurant in an otherwise low key town- the servers can be understaffed and over worked depending upon the crowd sizes. The same goes for the kitchen too- too many customers and not enough cooks means you'll be waiting longer. I love coming here, it reminds me of my old bars I'd go to with undergrad buddies.

Food was average. Service was average. Kind of a cool setting, but nothing outstanding. Soup seemed old and was just warm. Lord Lig burger was good. Had to ask for salt & pepper and our waitress seemed put off by the question. Our only personal interaction with our server came at the end when she requested a review on Yelp so she would get a bonus from her boss. Overall not bad, just not great.

was here last week. had a lamb burger and it was nothing special. sad to say the chips were actually better than the burger itself. it was pretty plain. the waitress was coming out to the deck and spilled my mom's lobster bisque all over a lady wearing a white shirt which i thought was pretty funny because the lady in white was being rude and loud the whole time we were there. was swearing and saying the f word in every other sentence lol. she deserved it. the lobster bisque was really good though

I had the artichoke dip and the lasagna. Artichoke dip: mediocre flavor with too much creamy sauce and minimal artichokes. The pita chips were partly crispy and partly soft. I couldn't tell if the was effect was on purpose... And at $10, not all that impressed. The lasagna had good flavor but it came out cold... So I sent it back. A little microwaving and the addition of a little more sauce and it came back. It has a good taste, but after biting into cold, hardened cheese and meat, I was was less than excited about it. At $18, I think it's overpriced. I had heard recommendations from colleagues about this place, but I can't say I'll be back.

The Ligonier Tavern, in a charming old building has a long history of reinventing itself. I have eaten there on and off over the years as it is sometimes wonderful and sometimes terrible. Three years ago lunch with friends was wonderful. Last night dinner for six was a major failure. We had a reservation for 6 people @7pm. We arrived on time and waited 10 min. until we were acknowledged at the entry. The place was busy and another party of 16 was directed upstairs to a party room. We waited patiently at least 20-25 minutes for our table. No problem, we were happy chatting with each other. Once seated the waitress was gracious. (although one chair had loose legs and was switched with another that was also uneven- oh well) our drink order was promptly taken and delivered. We ordered an appetizer pizza to share- it was TINY but when we ordered the waitress didn't advise us that it would not be enough for 6. Our dinner order took an hour to be served and three of the entrees were poorly prepared: a steak ordered rare was charred on the hidden side, the duck ordered med rare was overcooked and like rubber and served with the wrong side order and the seafood dish was unevenly cooked as well. That's it for us, we will not be returning.

I'm going to lead with what is good about Ligonier Tavern. Nice bar with a friendly bartender. And a patio overlooking Main Street which is a good vantage point for people watching and enjoying this quaint town. As you can see from my reviews, I don't like giving negative feedback. But my meal here just was not a great experience. The server was surly. They were out of the mushroom soup which they tout as one of their best items and I was looking forward to it. I settled on the soba salad with shrimp. I was like something my mother would have cooked in the 60s from her good housekeeping cookbook as a fine example of ethnic cuisine. It was horrible. I asked for dressing on the side but it came mixed in which might explain why the noodles were gummy and gloppy. It was sweet with uncooked ramen noodles on top. And topped off with canned mandarin oranges on the side. On the upside, the shrimp were fine. I don't eat a lot of meat, but my guess is the burgers would be a better choice.

Stopped by this evening for our 26th wedding anniversary. Did not stay because we were met at the hostess station, by a young man who told us that he didn't know when we'd be seated or served because there were only two waiters working. He said we could sit in the bar, and without giving an estimate of time, or explaining how to get to the bar, he walked away. We went down the road and found great service and a very welcoming place to eat.

Ate lunch here today. Saw a sign for sangria so naturally I had to try and it was not a disappointment it was very good! Hummus for appetizer was good and we both had Pittsburgh Salads. Overall everything was good will def stop back!

My family came here for dinner. The best meal was my wife's Pittsburgh salad, which was large, fresh and tasty. My meal was more like one star. I started with the lobster bisque, which had the consistency jello salad. It was about the thickest soup I've ever had. I doubt that it was made that day. My entree was the meatloaf in a puff pastry. It was nearly tasteless. What a waste of good calories! My kids both got hamburgers. They were dry and overcooked. At over $10 a piece, it is not what one would expect. Generally, I left with the feeling that the food is mostly frozen and reheated to order. Very bland and dull. I won't be back.

We decided to check out this place because we were from out of town and went to Idlewild for the day with my kids. The reviews and menu seemed like it was a good spot. I can honestly say, I've never had an experience like this so It may have been an anomaly but it was a horrible experience. We actually left and they comped us our salads and soups. We got seats quickly and the location is quaint. The wine selection looked promising but we didn't get any since we had kids. The kid menu was nice. We ordered kids their milks and the waitress told us our kids got the last of it so we couldn't get anymore. I ordered our soups, salads and meals for 4. The salad dressing I requested was out so I got their strawberry vinaigrette with blue cheese (the blue cheese never came.) My hubby got the lobster bisque which was watery and had only one piece of lobster. My daughter's chicken noodle was ok. After sitting for 10 mins after we got the soup and salad, the waitress came out telling us that they were out of the jagersneitzel my hubby ordered. It was annoying because we were famished but my hubby just switched to the duck. The waitress said she knew they had it and would bring it out soon. We waited another 15 minutes and the waitress came out and said they were out of duck?!?!?! We had been waiting for 15 minutes before she told us! It was horrible. At that point, I asked to speak with a manager because it was wrong. We had waited for close to 40 mins, I had to little kids (5&6) waiting to eat and they still didn't have our food. Someone came over and said there was no manager. She said it was a bad night and that she couldn't really do anything. She offered to bring out our food but that would be awful for us to eat in front of my hubby. She said they didn't expect us to pay for the soups and salad so we left. The plus, we did go to Carol and Dave's roadhouse. They were everything this place wasn't. The food and service was excellent and a heck of a lot better priced.

Chrissy our waitress was awful. She never brought a drink we ordered and just said "ok" and didn't even apologize for never bringing it. Can't really review the food because we just ordered salads. But very disappointed in the service.

Actually much better than my last trip. Back visiting the area due to a death in the family; a very emotional week. Thought I would grab something quick to eat and a beverage before the flight back home. Chrissy, Jimmy, and Joy made my visit special, with good food, prompt service and even had me chuckling before I left for home. Thank You.

Yes,Susan the Procrastinator strikes again! I've had a draft of this review saved for over a week now. Anyway, being hungry after spending the day at nearby Idlewild Park, a few of us headed over to Ligonier Tavern for some dinner. Located in a Victorian era house, the Ligonier's probably your best bet for dining in the area. The cuisine here probably won't set the world on fire-think of it as tavern supper-but they do it very well here. I had the crab cakes with risotto, which were really good. Rick had a steak which he enjoyed thoroughly. Just a note, because it's in a converted house, seating here is rather tight. And if you're coming here for dinner on a Saturday, best to get here early (about 5pm) as we did.

We stopped by on a Sat on our way to the local attractions based on the previous reviews and walked out with a vague sense of disappointment. First off, the tavern is housed in a cute historical building but the interior decor was rather kitsch. The bathrooms had run of paper towels and toilet paper nobody had bothered to replace them. It took us forever to be served. The waitress complained things were crazy but the dining room was only half-full, which makes me wonder what's it's like on a weekday. The sangria took a long time and did not come back with our child's water for the rest of the evening. We assumed she couldn't find the paper cup with a plastic cover and straw that was standard of child-friendly restaurants. ("I'm not sure we have that. I have to hunt for it.") We ordered the fried zucchini, duck and pork chop. The first two were average but the pork chop was tough. The portion was French size. The wild rice that was served as a side was undercooked and hard. When the waitress asked us about our meal, we gave her this feedback. She actually shrugged her shoulders with a "What do you expect?" expression! When she saw my surprise, she reluctantly added she'd feedback to the kitchen. Why ask if you can't be bothered? Obviously she was not trained. For the price, I wouldn't recommend it to any traveler who has the option of driving to Johnstown. Besides if you are with young children, you probably have to bring your own cup!

It's hard not to go the Tavern when you're in Ligonier, it's really one of the few games in town.Given that, I've probably been two dozen times over six years and it's just sort of run of the mill. Food is nice, but not great either. I'd put the Tavern just a notch above your standard greasy spoon. Service can be lousy--especially if they seat you on the deck upstairs and forget you--and the dining room is small so you're right on top of the other guests. I'd do Kitchen over the Tavern any day.

As an update to our visit. The day we visited. I had my wallet. When the waitress forgot a pen, I was digging in my purse for my pen. The next day, when I got home, I realized my wallet was gone. I called and informed them I'd left my wallet there. They said nope. Not here. I said, "I am SURE my wallet was left on the table". They insisted not. I talked to a man who told me he was the owner and he would check with the cleaning lady. I left a number and never heard back. I called two days later. They said, "nope, no wallet" I was stunned. So I waited. I finally called and reorderd all of my cards and DL and such. Cost me just under $100 for replacements on everything. I found a friend was going there and knew a staff member. I said, "Good.. get my wallet when you're there. I KNOW they have it". Sure enough, they tell me the wallet is in this lady's office! I messaged the lady on facebook and told her of everything I mentioned in myreview. She never replied! I then went one AM for my wallet. I went upstairs to the offices. The owner, who I'd spoken to was there. I explained everything that had happened, from the waitress saying they didn't have side salads to no one knowing where my wallet was! he just laughed. The communication and customer service here SUCKS. Even though my salad was good. I won't be going back.

I must say the location and building is their best feature. Food does not live up to the price. Had bam bam shrimp as an appetizer. Shrimp nothing more than frozen breaded shrimp that had a special sauce drizzled on it. Shrimp was over cooked not golden more brown. We then had Pittsburg salads with steak ordered med rare coming out med well but it's hard to cook a decent thin steak to liking. Mixed greens, nice.. topped with a few purple onion rings, cheap fries and low quality bagged shredded cheese.Blue cheese dressing cost .50 extra because of being extra creamy. Creamy it was but where was the blue cheese. Tasteless. My meal consisted of low quality items arranged pretty on a white plate. Walking out with a $48 check. Not impressed. Won't be back.

After exploring Ligonier for my very first time, we were feeling a little hungry. We decided to stop by the Tavern for a lite bite and some refreshing beverages! Loved the quaint charm and personality of this old structure! Service was good, we opted for a couple appetizers. We got the Bam Bam Shrimp, 8 breaded shrimp tossed with a secret spicy cream sauce. Yum. We also got Lobster Wontons, with spicy lobster meat and cheeses served wonton style and deep fried. They were served with a super yummy sweet chili sauce. While there was really no lobster to be found, the flavor was very good. This one was my favorite. All in all, a great place to visit.

The restaurant is in an old historic looking house....it is very nice and elegant and has a unique feel. The few times I have been here the service has always been very good, very nice and accomodating...actually memorable how good the service was....which isn't too common.... the food is solid, a lot of homemade things, a very impressive menu with pastas, seafood, steak, duck, salads and also lunch menu items.... the pricing is ok, some things are a bit steep, but overall it's not too bad....they make you feel at home and are very welcoming, it's almost like you're being invited into someone's home and eating in their dining room....it's a bit of a bed and breakfast feel but not....another great feature is the quaint little bar that's attached. It's small but has character and usually has a live band or an acoustic playing...perfect little spot for a first date for some drinks after a nice meal in a very relaxed and warm setting....

The Ligonier Tavern is a cultural antique of this small town and compliments the history embedded in the area. Throughout it's longstanding business, there have been many cosmetic changes, but it has always kept the old victorian charm. The menu changes keep returning customers with new things to try and offers new experiences. I've had wild game to homemade take out from the years past, so you never know what they will have to offer. The soups are typically very tasty, though their seafood soups are verrryy salty (more than one occassion having overly salty experiences.) The food is better than average and priced accordingly. The bar is charming, cute and on the smaller side. The beer selection on tap isn't bad. For example, they had two Sam Adams on tap including the Spring seasonal. I enjoy the dim lighting in the entire place, especially in the silarium (window seating area) and in the bar. The restuarant doesn't end on the first floor. Outdoor seating on the balcony on the second floor makes for a great eating experience for the summer months, with umbrellas for shade. I especially recommend the balcony during the Ligonier street festivals such as the annual Fort Ligonier Days in October. Great location to watch the people walk by! The third floor showcases a full bar and sometimes entertainment. The third floor is rarely open, possibly haunted and boasts a great rustic architecture, dance floor and windows. Great area for a small to medium party, upon rental. Staff is typically well versed in their jobs, though staff turnaround is high. Deserts are always well recommended and look delicious in the display when you walk in. Overall, the atmosphere is charming, interesting and warm, the food is worth it as well. I would recommend it to any out-of-towner to really get the feel of the history if this little town.

It had been about 4 years since my last visit to the Ligonier Tavern. I had always remembered the place as a charming little restaurant with pretty good food. Unfortunately, while the charm remains, the food is simply disappointing...and overpriced. The french onion soup that I had started my meal off well enough, but it really went all downhill from there until dessert. We ordered the fried mozzarella, lobster wontons, and fried brie with house made fruit compote for appetizers. All of the apps came out kind of cooler than you'd expect...especially for being fried apps. They could've been decent if served hot, but as they were, the brie was probably the only enjoyable one thanks to the compote. My wife ordered the filet and I ordered the crab cakes. For $19, the crab cakes that came out were simply awful. I ate them, but I can't say that I enjoyed them. They were so full of filler that when they cooked them, they flattened out into more of a crab pancake than a crab cake. Now, I ordered the crab cakes, fully aware that they weren't going to match what I was used to growing up in Baltimore, but still...I would take them off of the menu if I ran the Ligonier Tavern. Or at least purchase crab meat that's of a quality suitable for a $19 crab cake meal. I barely touched the risotto that came on the side. My plate essentially was just bland on bland flavor. My wife ordered a filet, and for $27, it would've been nice to not receive an overdone, fatty cut of steak. The side of mashed potatoes was decent, but the centerpiece of the meal was the steak, and it was too overdone to even enjoy the non-fatty bites. We finished the meal with a slice of the carrot cake, which was actually pretty good, but it was never going to save our meal and make us feel like the expensive check was worth it. The other somewhat positive thing was the service. Our server was really nice, but at times, he disappeared for long stretches. Perhaps this was because we were on the upstairs deck, but the restaurant wasn't busy, so it's hard to believe he was too overwhelmed to stay on top of our table. It's a shame to have my once-positive memories of the Ligonier Tavern seem so wrong, but it seems like the restaurant is resting on the laurels of being the big fish in a small pond. I hope it improves, as Ligonier deserves a dining centerpiece that the Tavern once seemed to provide.

Absolutely amazing selection and the food was spot on! Seafood risotto wasn't too salty or overly drenched in sauce. The artichoke dip was creamy and smooth not stringy or clumpy. The lamb burger was cooked exactly as ordered and had the most amazing flavor, not overseasoned. And the wait staff was excellent too! Definitely coming back again!

Not impressed. I hate to say this given everyone else's much nicer reviews but I was just not happy with my overall experience here. It is indeed a quaint place, and has some old history/feel to it. We ordered a variety of different items (including an app, soup, entrees and dessert) and drinks to the tune of $110, but I cannot say there was anything that I had found to be a gem. Crabcake entree looked awful, and my filet was mediocre at best (and full of fat). Not impressive. We were meeting friends who live out that way, and other than for that reason, I cannot see us going back out here. The town seems to pretty much shut down by 5pm. We were meeting them around 6 which gave us little to do up until then.
