Ate here for the first time last Saturday, and everything was very good. Service was prompt and attentive, food was perfectly cooked (I had steak and scallops and everything was as I had asked), and prices were what you'd expect. Have not hesitated in recommending it to friends and our customers since!

Great food, service and location. The server was super helpful, lots for kids and great wine/ beer menu. Overall great spot for a dinner after Idlewild.

This was my first visit to the new location. We checked in and got the free chips & salsa. I'm pretty particular with salsa, and I have to say that this was very good. It had a nice bite to it. However, if you don't like spicy, it may be a bit strong for you. For lunch, I ordered the crab cake sandwich. It was delicious! I really enjoyed the flavor the spices gave the crab. I was glad I took Dave's advice when I ordered it. I'll be going back!

Came in from out of state to see family. This place had a nice selection of foods, was kid friendly and had local beers. Nice little gem sitting right off the diamond! The meatloaf and mashed potatoes reminded me of my grandmothers! The waitress was great.

I use to go here at the old location but since they moved they have went down hill fast! The owners always seem to be getting drunk at the bar, you can always hear screaming as swearing from the back. Food was ok nothing to brag about. Definitely won't ever be going back! Don't waste your time going here there are much better locations in ligonier.

Amazing! Crab bisque is thin but the flavor is fantastic. Hummus plate looks and tastes fresh. Petite filet perfectly cooked, Mashed potatoes fluffy and delicious. Service great! This place is a must go!

Have eaten here twice now the food is spot on. They brought our childs dinner out first so they can get started which was great! Servers are nice. Owner came to table both times we came and talked to us he seemed nice.

Unacceptable . Rubbery langoustines, humus veggies looked like they were pre chewed ,mashed potatoes were watery , fish was dry and over cooked . Wait staff ignored subtle feedback. Won't go back. Food was obviously frozen. Nothing fresh.Too many missteps.

My group shared a number of appetizers, including the hummus, banana peppers, chips and salsa (free), and mozzarella squares. I had the Portobello mushroom salad for my meal, which consisted of bland iceberg lettuce and some so-so mushroom slices. Our server was fairly attentive despite being busy. For dessert we had the peach and blueberry pie, which was quite good.

Stopped at Carol & Dave's for lunch and was very pleased with the experience. The fish sandwich was moist and flaky- just delicious! The fries had a nice crispiness to them and were not greasy. We enjoyed the Chips and Salsa from the Foursquare check-in. The fire-roasted salsa had just enough of a "kick" without being overly spicy. This was my first dining experience at Carol & Dave's Roadhouse, but I will definatley be back!

Just eat dinner - steak night - had the 12 oz strip, blackened with crumbled blue cheese. Service was excellent, steak was excellent as well. I have dined at Carol & Dave's numerous times, both at their previous location and the present location, always a pleasure.

So happy we found this spot. While traveling through the area we wanted a nicer sit down meal. Since we were on a long road trip, we were tired of fried foods and wanted something homey and at least a little healthy. This place hit the spot. 1-Local charm in a quaint little town with a picturesque town square 2-Menu offered lots of options 3-Made it easy for our lactose intollerent daughter to eat by making all out requested substitutions 4-Added extra veggies for almost free 5-Offered Local Beer to try Service was great too. We'd go back if we were in the area.

First time here to meet a few others for late lunch. This is a restaurant with a great menu of traditional food choices and daily specials. The portions are generous. I recommend the chicken salad. It was huge! Nice bar and dining room. Definitely returning.

Worth the walk from Main Street, even in the cold January rain. Lobster bisque warmed us up and the hearty fare of the famous meatloaf did not disappoint the meat loaf lover! The stuffed pork chops were great and so was the gravy. Very pleasantly full and pleased to recommend this place. We can't wait to visit again in the summer when the very large place is hoppin'!

Great restaurant! It's a little hidden gem in Ligonier, PA! Excellent food (lunch & dessert) and spectacular service (fast & courteous and the owner came by our table too)! I'm from Los Angeles so I'm pretty spoiled with good restaurants and really picky. When I visit my family in Latrobe, PA I usually have pizza because it's a safe bet. I took my chances coming to Carol & Dave's and I must say, I'm impressed! We ordered the BLT Wrap w/ Fries, Salmon Salad and Crab Cake Sandwich - all were SO GOOD! SFor dessert we shared the homemade Gob Cake and it was a little piece of heaven...yum! No complaints...just Stars !!!

3.5 stars... Ligonier is a gorgeous town and Carl & Dave's matches the town seamlessly. The spacious traditional living room feels comfortable and casual. They also have some outdoor seating on a side deck and a bar area. Food is traditional American and prices are very reasonable. My girlfriend got the cheesesteak while I got the meatloaf. The cheesesteak was more of a regular steak sandwich then the thin meat you'd expect from a Philly cheesesteak. The bread was fantastic, oddly the star of the dish. My meatloaf was pretty average, I got three small slices of meatloaf that looked like it wasn't the freshest while the broccoli had no flavor or seasoning to it. We did leave properly full, service was friendly, and there wasn't really anything wrong with our experience here. Just an average restaurant in a nice Western PA town.

We went to eat tonight with our five year old, completely unsure of what to expect. We wanted to try somewhere we'd never eaten before, and we'd heard nothing but good things, so we thought what the heck. We don't regret it one bit. The food was phenomenal and Janet, our waitress, was so good with our son (he even got a Frisbee at the end). I got the surf and turf with a medium-rare steak & scallops. The steak was cooked perfectly and I could cut the scallops with my fork (they melted in my mouth). My son got home made macaroni & cheese & my husband got surf & turf with crab cakes, which he said was excellent as well. We highly recommend this establishment, and will definitely be back.

I went to Idlewild with my boyfriend and afterward we were starving. We decided we wanted to try someplace different and we discovered Carol & Dave's Roadhouse. The set up is unique and decorated so well. The food was amazing, and the prices were very reasonable. They have many things to choose from on the menu, we knew what we were hungry for but everything looked so good we had to think pretty hard about it. They have the best raspberry tea I think I've ever had. I'm most defiantly looking forward to going back some day in the near future!

Wonderful risotto. Wonderful lasagne. Speedy, pleasant service. AND a helpful employee mailed our credit card home to us after we left it there. Wish we lived closer so we could be regular customers.

I dined here this past Saturday around 2:30pm when it was mostly empty. Walking in, it looks very kitschy but in fact I was pleasantly surprised by the menu options and the quality of the food. My dining partner and I split calamari with Thai chili sauce (which was sweet and amazing not spicy at all) with cucumber slaw and an order of the boneless wings with roadhouse mix sauce (BBQ, buff, and garlic parm- weird combo but very tasty). They were out of bone in wings and apparently that's a common occurrence since they are supposed to be THAT GOOD. Service was goid- we sat at the bar and had some beverages with our meals. A lot of other menu items jumped out at me- particularly the salmon blt sandwich with a tomato basil pesto- so I'd love to go back and try that if we ever find ourselves out in ligonier again!

I have never written a review for a restaurant/bar before, but feel the need to for Carol and dave's. i had never ate there before, and the reviews on the net are 4 and 5 stars, so I went in really excited. First of all, the server who took our order didn't write anything down, which is great. If you don't forget anything. Which she did. The appetizer we ordered never came. We all decided to get onion rings with our meal, and we informed about 10 minutes after ordering (there were only 6 other people in there at the time) that there were no onion rings. Which is fine, no big deal. We all decide to get the "homemeade chips". Once again the server comes back to tell us they are out of "homemade chips". I am guessing due to the fact the cook couldn't peel, cut, and fry a potato like a chip these are not "homemade". The worst part is the people right beside us had just received a big basket of said chips. After all of this, we waited about 35 minutes or more for our meal. Everyone was served but one person at the table, who had to wait an additional 5 minutes for their food. Let me say I am not some food snob, I have worked in the food service industry for 20 years. So I am very laid-back when it comes to what goes on, and am very patient. But this night, at this bar, the sequence of events finally got under my skin enough to write an indepth review just so people who are solely looking at internet reviews aren't misled by 4-5 stars for this place. As far as the food? The prices are high, but I can deal with that if the food is good. It wasn't. I got the crab cake andwich, happy to see the lump crabeat when the sandwich came out. But the sandwich had no flavor, which was really a let-down. My son got the chicken cheese steak, which he didn't even finish because the chicken was really dry. the other 2 people at the table got the philly cheese steak, which they said was okay, but definitely not worth coming back for. Long story short, I am glad I finally ate there after all of these years, so I know to never go back. My honest opinion? If you are looking for some great food, go to Kelly's right across the street. We have tried almost everything on their menu and have never been disappointed.
