After repeatedly forgetting to check out this place I finally remembered! Upon walking in the atmosphere seemed very inviting, calm, dark, and maybe even romantic. They obviously have done great work with preserving the original image of the hotel/restaurant. After a few moments we were seated and I noticed the attired of customers ranged from casual to slightly formal. I may have opted to wear khaki's and a button down if I had known this prior to stopping in. Our waitress seemed very friendly and returned often to refill drinks. Originally I ordered a blackened steak however, when my food arrived she had instead ordered me a chicken breast meal. Typically I would have been slightly agitated however, I actually had wished I ordered the chicken in the first place. Bittersweet? I of course offered to take the meal without hesitation and assured it was fine. The chicken breasts were very moist, the mashed potatoes were delicious as well as the broccoli. I mist also note that the ice tea was delicious as well. After we finished our dinner our waitress offered me a complementary dessert for her mistake. That itself was a great gesture even if I was perfectly fine with the chicken. I feel I would definitely come back and eat at this location in the near future.

The Hotel Lewisburg has a number of different components: A Hotel, a motel, a bar, a restaurant, and events for things like wedding receptions. It's the motel aspect that drives my rating down. The handling of the wedding reception I attended was good. The space was nice, and the food was very good. The bar is also a very nice place, with a great feel and friendly staff. The bar food was acceptable, but nothing special. The motel stinks, and our experience with the staff in that regard was disappointing. The "continental breakfast" that was supposed to be included wasn't even prepared when we came down for it at the promised 8:00 a.m. The attendant at the desk seemed totally oblivious. We also informed her that the heat was not working in our room, and her response was that maybe we could find an extra blanket in one of the drawers. The motel room itself was pretty poor, with barely a door between the main room and the bathroom. It didn't shut, nor was there any kind of fan to make some kind of noise to create even the illusion of privacy. The walls are paper thin between rooms, too, and access to the upstairs rooms from the courtyard was awkward and hard to navigate. Overall, I'd say the bar is very good, and there are a number of positives to this place, but the experience of the MOTEL was bad enough that I want to emphasize that with the 2-star rating.

We arrived and were greeted and seated promptly. We ordered hot tea but had to wait for cups because of a large party. Crab cakes came and were panko then crb cake. The broccoli was cooked in beer which I did not like at all. The potatoes were barely warm. The next was the fillet of Newburgh which lacked qualities of a good fillet. Also was tipped with cream sauce that we scraped off. . The soup of the day was a cream of broccoli that had to be sent back to be heated. The crab bisque was over spiced although it did contain a nice amount of crab. We do not plan on returning.

Service was great. My husband got sushi grade tuna but the first time it came out it was wayyyy overcooked for a "seared" sushi grade tuna steak. However they brought him a new one within 5 minutes with the chef's apologies. Good beer selection also.

Have only ever partaken in their wing nights and truthfully they're very hit or miss. On nights that they're good, they're REALLY good. You'll get a friendly waitress, piping hot wings, drinks and refills quickly, and your hands will be covered in their delicious sauce. That all being said, when the wings are bad .... they're horrendous. You'll get a server with an attitude who's likely irritated at how busy it is, your drinks will take forever, and worst of all your wings will be cold and dry. Worth trying out, but don't be disappointed if the wing night proves to be a disaster.

The Lewisburg hotel's bar is a great place to have a cocktail with friends before dinner. Perfect for large parties. The staff is friendly. Atmosphere is nice, nothing over the top. The wings and burgers are worth trying. It is nice to be able to park in Lewisburg, and stop at a couple of bars and go out for a nice dinner and then the movies with out dealing with reparking or driving between places.

Stopped by the Governor's Room for dinner. I went with the veal chop with bone in. The meat was tender and juicy with a moderate crust. Flavor was medium. I had expected a richer taste with the merlot reduction glaze. The potatoes were crisp and well roasted with a flakey center. Asparagus was succulent and evenly cooked. No mushy tops or hard bases. Highlight of the meal was the Panzanella salad with fresh peppery arugula and rich goat cheese that was soft and silky. The vinaigrette was well made and highlighted the onion and arugula in the salad. Key lime pie for dessert was average. The staff was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was inviting and had a homey comfortable feel. I would eat here again.

Good if pricey bar food. We have eaten at the hotel bar many times over the last several years, and it's been a positive experience. Recently we stopped in, had a couple of pitchers of beer with our sandwiches, and were shocked at the bar bill. The hotel's beer prices are easily double or more than everybody else. I don't mind paying more for craft beer but $26.00 for a pitcher? Sorry that is unreasonable.

My parents took my girlfriend and I here for dinner 2 years ago and it was amazing. Since we were back in town, my girlfriend wanted to go back and so did I. I must say this visit was not so spectacular. We were told we couldn't get a table in the dining room because we didn't have an RSVP. We were directed to an area off the bar where there was some seating. This was fine, but the service there was atrocious. We waited about 10 minutes just to get menus. We ordered drinks and the bartender made them and set them on the corner for the waitress to get. I saw then sit there for 10 minutes before they were even brought to us. My girlfriend's cocktail was a bit watered down. I am a chef by trade and think that is pertinent for this part of the review. I ordered steamed clams. I know they sat under a heat light for a very long time. They were like chewing beef jerky. I also got lobster bisque, which was incredible. The rack of lamb I ordered was to meant to be medium rare (and it was), however, they either cut it and cooked it in in 2 bone increments or it sat in the window too long and the ends cooked themselves. I ordered Soba noodles as a side and what I got was not Soba noodle. It was more like undercooked ramen noodles. One good note was the craft beers and general beer selection. The pumpkin ale was amazing as was the Pomegranate wheat Because we couldn't get hardly any service, I had to go to the bar myself and get drinks from the bartender. The service was so bad; I had to ask the bartender for the waitress to get our check. I saw other waitress taking care of tables in the same area we were sitting in and they were doing great. Perhaps our server was having an off night. I still like this place and will definitely try it again when I come back to town again. But it needs some work on service and getting food out in a timely manner.

The food is so so and too salty. The service is so so. The waitress forgot to serve the drink and left us without the drink even after the food was served. Had to call and request water to remind her. Saw the other customer have the same experience. I'd probably not coming back for quite a while.

Great hotel with an amazing bar inside. Pretty impressive beer selection, and inexpensive to stay the night.

Friendly bar staff. Awesome wings (if u eat them there). If you order wings to go, make sure to ask for extra wing sauce because they are a little dry. The beer selection is awesome & up go date. New beers coming through all the time. Only have had one other food item there (Greek wrap) so I can't speak on food much but it was decent. Wednesdays are wing nights & $5 long islands. The bar usually closes around 12pm, so that's a huge downside, but it's nice because it's not that crowded in there usually. Selection of Togo beer is awesome but a little expensive ($15 import/specialty 6 pack). Overall very nice place for lunch & a beer. I wish they did brunch because they have a nice patio area that would be beautiful with a waffle/omelet station or bloody Mary bar. That would really put this place over the top.

7/23/13 Chillin' & Grillin' Tuesday nite in the courtyard; where they have grilled food, beer flowing and live entertainment. Nice concept. Hanging out on the patio drinking & eating lamb skewers w/ baked beans. Baked beans were not as sweet as I usually like them. The beans appeared a tad overcooked and tasted "pastey" (if that's a word?). But the lamb skewers were cooked to perfection (medium rare), juicy and scrumptious. Seasoned well on top of a bed of mixed field greens. I requested a horseradish sauce on the side and let's just say that gave the lamb an extra bite that was all I needed to be in gastro HEAVEN!!!! The outside menu also offered cool shrimp skewers, a hot dog platter, a chicken breast platter & burgers. Sides of baked beans, baked beans & fruit salad. And I so enjoyed then live one man "songster" who sang classic rock tunes. If you are in town on a Tuesday in the summer and they offer Chillin' & Grillin' stop on in.......

Run! Bedbug central. I stayed in room 305 on March 15, 2015. I found bedbugs in the bed. I put one in a plastic bag and took it down to show the manager. He said it was too big to be a bedbug. I left the hotel at midnight since I wanted as far away as possible. I took it to the health department when I got home and they confirmed it was a bedbug. I called the manager back to get a refund. He said I didn't have any proof. Complete jerk. I would never stay there again.

I had my wedding reception at the Lewisburg Hotel and it was fabulous. Mindi was so helpful every step of the way. The ballroom looked beautiful, the food was awesome, and we got a ton of compliments. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely choose the hotel.

My home for wings! The wings are bigger and crisper than any other place I have tried in Lewisburg. The bartenders actually pour my money's worth too! Thank you!

Two of my coworkers and I came up to Bucknell to meet with our Bucknellian counterparts, and all 8 of us ate lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon several weeks ago. The interior was charming. We were one of the only tables in the restaurant but service was still particularly slow and just generally not the best. The menu was pretty limited, but, there were several appealing options. I got the crab cake sandwich, which I rarely do outside of Maryland but it was pretty good for a fried crab cake. The fries were also really good. My one coworker ordered the special, which was some sort of steak wrap with blue cheese dressing. She asked for it without dressing but it came with it and then took an additional 15 minutes to make a new one. Towards the end of our lunch, when we were trying to get ready to go, our waitress disappeared for a good 20 minutes. I have no idea what else is in the surrounding area so I can't say how this compares, but, it was just a so-so experience.

I have eaten here several times in the bar. The bar has a great feel to it, lots of wood and lots of warmth. Free cashews upon request! Decent tap selection too. I would like to see them get a little more adventurous with their micro selection. The bar food is quality. Nice, meaty wings. As someone said below the milds have plenty of kick to the them. The hots would probably be overkill for me. I get annoyed when places only offer mild or hot because one is inevitably off the mark. The places that offer mediums as well as milds and hots tend to get it right across the board. Sandwiches have been quality. The burger was sort of a letdown - too complex with portobello and gorgonzola - but they make what might be my all-time favorite chicken sandwich. It is called sunflower dusted chicken and comes with perfectly cooked carmelized onions and some other ideal toppings. The turkey and Brie sandwich with cranberry chutney is tasty and huge. The smoked chicken wrap gets it right, with the extra spring mix that didn't fit served on the side. Seems that the dinner menu has some issues, but I plan to give it a shot sometime. Also, fairly hot female servers!

I'm going to give this an average of four stars- five stars for the wings, and three for everything else (including the rooms). The wings are the best! They are huge, first of all. I remember someone in college calling them baby arms. I like my food (and especially my wings) hot but the mild version of these wings is enough heat for me, and I actually do like my food hot, I'm not just saying that. They will have you sipping your beer pretty fast. The Yeungs and Wings night on Thursday is the time to go for a good deal. And if you're a student you can head over to LIT night after. If you're not a student, don't be sketchy and stay away from LIT night. Everything else I've had is fairly average, as I mentioned. But go get some wings!

First, the decor. The antiquated interior definitely lends to the Hotel's charm. But, in Lewisburg, every other building has the same sort of 1800s feel. I think it's more impressive to out-of-towners. The food was decent. Some dishes better than others. I highly recommend the crab bisque. It's got a nice kick to it. The crab cake sandwich is pretty good, as well. I can't, however, recommend to the duck pizza. It sounds good on paper, but the flavors were off. It was almost too rich. They try to cut through the richness with caramelized fennel and onions, but it just wasn't doing it for me.

Two thumbs down. We went here tonight for Valentines Day and we were very disappointed. I had the filet mignon that came out cold. He had a strip steak that was all fat. Beans weren't cooked. Waitress was more interested in the large party table next to us and never asked how we were or if it was prepared well. Don't waste your $100 on this dinner.

Traveling on business near the Bucknell U. campus, this was a perfect setting for a nice, quiet dinner event. Though the menu was limited, the cuisine was excellent. We really enjoyed the good service Thes appetizers ,salads and entrees we selected were very good . Historic atmosphere in the hotel/ restaurant is a real pleasure if that is what you are looking for.

This past weekend our family gathered in Lewisburg for our father's 80th birthday. We were looking for a nice place for a family dinner to celebrate this milestone event. We chose the Lewisburg Hotel because we had enjoyed a family wedding reception there a few years ago. As we were coming from all different parts of the country we really didn't know of many places in town that could handle our party of 16 on a Saturday night. The hotel was very accomodating when we had to increase our party size at the last minute, even though they had limited space available. The hotel restaurant itself is beautiful. It has a really nice turn of the century feel to it (the last century that is). The food, for the prices charged, left a lot to be desired. My brother and sister-in-law each ordered the prime rib which was a huge slab of meat served cold. The side dishes were warm and pretty good but the entre itself was a big disappointment. I had the Chilean sea bass with a coconut curry sauce served over rice. It too was fairly cold and not too fresh. For the price, it was very disappointing. The service was very good. I really think that a party of 16 was too big to handle considering that most of the food came out of the kitchen cold. Memories of the last trip to the Lewisburg Hotel probably would have rated four stars, the food quality of this trip rated one star. I settled on two because the service and atmosphere was pretty good. I will give the place one more shot the next time I'm in Lewisburg but it will be with a much smaller group of people.

I have never eaten here, but the bar is very good. They have a nice craft brew selection. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Always had excellent service when I'm in here.

The worst steak I have ever eaten. It was grissly and fatty and tough. The gorganzola cheese was so thick, it overwhelmed the mushrooms, onions, and the supposed truffle oil. I peeled it back like a carpet. The service was very good. I would give it one more try because the potatoes, veg, and wine were all good.

Had a business dinner here last Monday night. At least the waitress re-set our expectations when we sat down by warning us that they were down one waiter because the bartender was sick that night. She brought out dried-out, overcooked steaks that had been ordered medium. Inexplicably, one person's salad came before the meal, and another person's came with it. Bread that was promised was never delivered to the table. Coffee was stale and bitter and had to be sent back. Yikes!

I have only been to the bar area for the wings on their wing night. I've been here several times and the wings were nice and big. Plenty of meats on them. The sauce I get is the mild sauce, but it is a little spicier than most mild sauces that I've had. I'd say it is more of a medium sauce. The service has always been nice and the ambiance in the bar is relaxed.
