My mom and I like to come here for lunch, as it's right around the corner from my house. The matzo ball soup is quite good, and the fries are very crispy and adequately seasoned. Service is typically friendly, and facility is clean and friendly. Breakfast fare is also good, especially the pancakes!

Good food, at anytime of the day. We love coming here any time of the day or night, for a full meal or just a late night snack. Very affordable. One of my favorite dishes is the open face ruben. But first I start off with a crock of french Onion soup...........Yummmmm. Stop by and check them out.

Never had a bad meal here and you always get oversized portions you never leave hungry.

My husband and I eat here often. The hours are great for when you need to eat at an unusual time. The soups are usually good and I also recommend the omelettes, tuna melt, stuffed cabbage, and the open face hot sandwiches. But the best thing I have ever had is the Greek salad. Delicious (but I don't get anchovies) Good service and large portions. Also, just an update that is it completely non smoking now.

Can't say I was impressed. The restaurant is clean, the staff is very friendly but the food was just blah. I got the Fried Ravioli which is listed on the menu as an entree. It sounded unusual to me so I figured I'd try it out. The salad I received with the meal was nice and fresh, it also came with soup which I gave to my boyfriend. I can't imagine how anyone could eat a salad, a soup and an entree. When the entree arrived, it was 4 very large battered and fried ravioli on a piece of lettuce with a bowl of tomato sauce on the side. It looked much more like an over sized appetizer. The ravioli was awful. The filling was gritty and dry, the batter had no flavor and two of them were undercooked. I couldn't finish them. It was my boyfriends birthday however so I asked the waitress to bring him a slice of cake, as a surprise when he went to the restroom. She was so sweet and got the whole staff to sing to him. She brought us over the largest slice of complimentary strawberry short cake I'd ever seen. So while my meal was not very good, the service was great. Not sure if that would be enough to bring me back though.

I've eaten here many times, but not much recently. It was a go to place when I lived near 5 points. The atmosphere is always friendly, the food is always slightly overpriced but worth it. Very good coffee, baked goods, and breakfasts. My absolute favorites here are the thick french toast, and the chocolate mousse pie. I have seldom had a meal here that I did not enjoy. Service was always quick and friendly, as I remember it.

I just went for breakfast this morning at the Golden Dawn in Levittown. I walked in and was able to immediately get a seat at the counter. I noticed right away that this place was clean, not too noisy, and nicely decorated. I ordered the French Toast with sausage, oj, and a couple of cups of coffee. Everything was cooked right and tasted great. My waitress at the counter Jen was very friendly. There was another waitress named Josie who was also very friendly. Altogether this place is very hospitable. I highly recommend this place for a nice relaxing breakfast!

Every time I walk into this place I walk in there thinking where's the body?? this place reminds me of a funeral home it's disgusting.

Weekends or Holidays get here before the crowd. This location has a large menu all reasonably price. The food comes out with more then enough to eat and have enough to share. Staff attitudes vary but typically most are friendly and are able to answer all menu questions.

This is not only really good food, they give you a plate FULL of stuff. We both had the beef pannini which comes with home made soup and fries. It was outrageously good, it cost just a little over six bucks each and we walked away stuffed (with doggie bags) for a lot less than 20 bucks. That's amazing; we're used to spending that much for one. DO NOT forget to get the breadsticks. Our waitress was really great and yes, she called me "hon." cool

This diner was ok. I wasn't too impressed as I used to live in NJ, the land of diners. The service was very good, however, the food was subpar although they gave you a lot of it. I'd probably give them another chance if I was in the area, but wouldn't drive out of my way to come and eat here. There are much better diners throughout Levittown/Bristol/Falls Twp.

Not a huge breakfast menu. service was horrible! we ordered 2 breakfasts (eggs and toasts) it came with potatoes which had no flavor. I asked for wheat toast with no butter and it had butter, and I also asked for eggs scrambled and I got an omelet The hostess had the worst attitude I have ever seen in a long time! She made some snotty comments behind our back. Not to mention the place looks like it is stuck in the 60's. I will NOT be going back to this place again!

I've been coming here since I was a kid. The place hasn't changed much in years and that's a good thing. They have a huge menu, huge portions, and huge booths. However it's not a 24/7 diner and it's a shame they close early during the week. I guess cause it draws in an older crowd. Weekend hours are better though. And I'm thrilled it's completely non smoking now. Huge plus.

Food has always been good. They are generous with specials and coupons for next visit. Only negative - very smoky by counter. You have to walk through the smoking section to get to the rest rooms.

Waited about 10 minutes to be seated on a Friday night. The waitress was very nice. The burger was just so-so. The creamed chip beef and silver dollar pancakes were yummy. The bread plate is ehh and the marinara sauce it comes with is watery and bland.

  • Babs J.

It's a diner people NOT a 5 star restaurant! That being said, you get a GREAT breakfast, huge portions, for a GREAT price! If you come here for and expect more for dinner....REALLY? Like I said, it's a DINER! I have been going here forever. The service is always great and the food satisfying. The place for breakfast!

This is the most old school of the old school diners I've visited recently. You can tell that it's mostly regulars, and I was most definitely the only Asian person there (which is fine - I lived in Maine/New Hampshire - I'm pretty used to it). Had eggs, hash browns, corned beef hash and toast; the boy had banana and caramel french toast made with cinnamon raisin bread and topped with what may have been a full canister of whipped cream (but the boy runs 60 miles a week, so he can order such things with impunity). They brought me a whole carafe of coffee even though I was the only coffee drinker, service was fast, food was everything you want from a diner. Great stuff.

This is hands-down my favorite diner in the area. The menu has a great selection of food at very reasonable prices. The wait staff is very sweet and personable and it has always been a great experience going here. Whenever I am in the mood for some comfort food, this is my place

Bland, bland, BLAND. I wouldn't come back here by choice... Although Golden Dawn gives very generous portions (easily like three meals put into one), I would have honestly preferred smaller portions at lower prices. I ordered the top sirloin that came with a choice of soup and salad, two side dishes, and a dessert for $11.99 from their lunch menu. I choose the cream of turkey soup, salad with Italian dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, french fries, and jello for dessert. The waitress first brought out salads, soups, and bread sticks with marinara sauce. The cream of turkey soup literally tasted like gravy with a few chunks of turkey... It really did not have an appetizing flavor or consistency. The salad filled a full standard dinner plate with the cup of dressing on the side, and the bread sticks tasted a bit stale.. The steak was FREAKIN' HUGE. It was seriously twice the size of steaks you would get at other restaurants, but it was pretty thin. My sides were meh... the mashed potatoes didn't have much flavor, and the fries looked and tasted old. The jello.... was jello. EVERYTHING WAS BLAND. The soup, the bread sticks, the steak, mashed potatoes, and the fries. -_- Everything needed more salt and pepper. Bottom Line: Portions are definitely worth the value. This is a great place to take your grandparents, but I would not recommend this place to anyone with a decent palate.

I liked this restaurant as soon as entering the parking lot. It's not hard to miss. The outside done over well. When entering golden Dawn, was seated asap with no waiting. I was pleaded by the inside and the seating room. It's a good size restaurant with great service. The menu for breakfast, has a good size portion. Something hear that alot of other places don't do, is bring you out a mug and Coffee Thermos for the table. It saves from waiting for the waitress for your next cup of coffee, can just poor it yourself. I got the Italian omelette, with home fries and toast. When the food arrived at the Table, the plate was filled with no room to spare. With nice size omelette and home fries. There is no short of food when coming hear. I enjoyed the breakfast. And look forward to coming back again. Mabe even for dinner.

Golden Dawn was a disappointment on several levels. First, sitting at the end of the counter it took overly long for someone to slip me a menu and offer me a cup of coffee. I understand busy, but there were several staff people just walking around with their heads down. Second, the French Toast I ordered, while thick as advertised, had not soaked long enough in the egg mix, and the center of each slice was dry. This made for a less than enjoyable experience. Just glad I went with a short stack. Third, although I sat at the counter for at least 30 minutes as I waited and ate, no one came by with a pot of coffee and offered to refill my mug. Again, servers all around trying their best to avoid eye contact with everybody. They succeeded in making me feel invisible. And, in making me feel an unwanted customer. Have it your way. Without me.

Great diner. Great dinner. This is a pillar in the community. Phenomenal food. Awesome portions. Very reasonably priced. Wait staff is exceptional, especially Karen who was as sweet as a cupcake! Always look forward to my next visit.

I wish I had time for a scathing review, but I need to rush home for some Pepsid. Please don't fooled by the title. Golden Dawn is not a Asian eatery.

This diner is a walking distance from my house - one of the first reasons I like it. I've been going here for as long as I remember and it's one of my favorite diners!

Just moved back to the area and have been here 4 times. Breakfast is good, burgers are very good but as for dinners my experience has been BAD. I prefer going to Georgine Jrs on rt 413 just around the corner. DO NOT ORDER STUFFED SALMON!! DO NOT ORDER ANY SEAFOOD PEROID!! Sad because once upon a time this place was AWESOME

  • Sherri H.

Nothing was bad, nothing was good. Mozz sticks were soggy with watery marinara. My Greek salad was probably the largest salad I've ever been served but the dressing was pretty much just red wine vinegar (which I love, but a Greek salad needs some olive oil and herbs). I thought Greek food was supposed to be a sure thing at all diners? At least there were lots of olives to dig out. Matzoh ball soup (soup comes with all salads; come to think of it, bread was supposed to as well but I didn't get any, not that I needed it) was way too salty. Corned beef hash was ok, the well-done top of it at least. I did like that we got a coffee carafe for the table and the coffee was decent with good classic diner mugs. My fiance had to ask for jelly for his toast and only got grape. Place is really outdated with dusty decorations. I couldn't help but think it was in need of a makeover; I've been watching way too much Restaurant Impossible. Like I said, nothing was that bad but what can I say, I'm from South Jersey, I have high diner standards.

5 stars because it is exactly what I want from a diner. Cozy dated decor, typical reliable cheap comfort food, and fast service.

You know the diner you grew up with? This is that place for me! Nothing beats a hangover like their Sausage Biscuits & Gravy with 2 eggs. Their cappuccino is also insanely tasty. Go on, ask for whipped cream. You won't be sorry. The Golden Dawn moves with the ebbing & flowing hustle or meandering that comes with any hometown diner. Their menu is extensive, and I can't say I ever had anything there that I didn't like. The wait staff is always nice, and the prices have gone up over the years, but nothing outrageous. It's a great place for brunch or breakfast for dinner, or just to drag your old hometown cronies out for a night on the town like you did in high school if you're home for the holidays. The Golden Dawn (Or the 'Gol an', or the 'den Dawn' - depending on how their seemingly always semi-busted neon sign decides to advertise their name for the evening) will always have a warm, greasy, homey place in my heart, right next to the plaque build-up that has surely formed over the years from eating there....

Oh Golden Dawn... If only they knew what a staple of my youth they truly are... If I had a dime for every time I've eaten here I'd probably have at least a hundred dollars. I came here after church for years, I came here with family for many mothers days, I had at least one date with every boyfriend I've ever had here, I came here after several school dances, and some very late nights, and I still come here fairly regularly. The wait staff is some of the best. I have never had a bad waitress; they are all funny and sweet. The one woman who seats you comes off as bored as hell but when you talk to her she's very nice. Just always seems funny to me that she walks you to your table and throws the menus down. If you're a regular, you know her, middle aged with a long blonde pony tail. Anyway, the staff is great and they remember you which is so rare these days! Now the food. Let's be honest here. It's diner food. Good diner food but diner food nonetheless. Don't expect tiramisu and escargot, capiche? My mainstays are chicken fingers w/ honey mustard, chicken parm, cheese steak, French Toast with sausage, or pancakes and bacon. Sometimes I'm adventurous and I try something new but this is one of those places where you find a favorite and stick to it. The prices aren't bad and it's the perfect place to come after a date - I've spent many a late night in a booth with a best friend giggling over fries and a coke. The Golden Dawn is the queen of Five Points and a relic of the local community.

I really wanted to like Goldendawn. The server was very friendly and did her job well. The portions of food were large and looked delicious. The dinners come with a soup and salad plus 2 vegetables and even a dessert afterwards. I got the egg plant Parmesan. You could tell that the eggplant had been frozen and tasted a bit freezer burnt. The breading was thick and Doughy. The sauce tasted like it came right out of the can and was just lukewarm. Even the grated cheese that they use to sprinkle on top seemed very cheap and tasteless. The salad was crisp and fresh nice. The matzoh ball soup was delicious. I've had better but it was fine. I hope that the Goldendawn can really take a look at their menu and make things fresher and with more flavor. Don't use things right out of the can.

Great diner for all hours. Breakfast or dinner at all hours. Many tv's to see news or eagles game. Big coffee pots. Just what you expect and hope for

  • Les L.

there are three types diners. Good, normal, BAD. This is a normal 24 hours diner, because of that a lot of the food is pre-made and frozen or delivered frozen. Good serving sizes make up for the lackluster of some not so dinner classics, but you really can't go wrong with eggs and breakfast foods.

What a waste! After asking for a grilled Ruben our waitress said oh I thought you meant under the broiler Not what was asked for, how do you screw up a Ruben? With cold Onion Rings? They tried.. Seafood Alfredo imitation seafood. Then burnt stuffed flounder A very bad experience This place is nothing like it used to be.

Just moved to the area and this was my first time here... I am impressed. The building was nice and clean, food was good and plentiful and the service was polite. I ordered an omelet off the special board and ended up paying less than $5 for my meal. This might end up being my spot.

Our food came out within minutes of giving our order and the owner stopped by to see how everything was going. Everything was fresh and the restaurant was very clean (including the bathroom.) I highly recommend this Diner to everyone.

food sucks, prices too high, and parking with new business sharing the lot is a nightmare and you can rest assured of getting your car dented while there, personally steer clear , even the board of health has shut them down way too many times for my liking

Portions are always big, prices are very good, and I've never had anything that wasn't delicious. Been going there for 25 years or more, and it's by far my favorite diner in the area.

The food was good and overall, we were very happy here. When I went here I was 8 mos pregnant...I do wish they didn't make such a spectacle of me by insisting I wouldn't fit in a booth! I'm really not that big! 150 pounds pregnant...come on! I know they meant well but I wanted to crawl in a hole!

Lots of great food for the price. The wait staff is excellent. Our food came out quickly and cooked to specifications.

My boyfriend has been a regular here for years. I've come here with him at least half a dozen times. The service and waitstaff were always awesome. The food edible, affordable, and generously portioned. Tonight I ordered a drink, a matzoh ball soup app and sliders. The soup tasted like ramen noodle chicken broth with a huge spongy glutinous mass in it. But, no biggie. Then the sliders came. The cheese wasn't melted, they were overcooked, had the chewiness and flavor of old wet cardboard. After one bite I said never mind. Our waitress offered to get something else but we asked to just charge us for the fries and let it go. That's when the Ramsey style kitchen nightmare started. The hostess came over and told me the sliders were fine. Very adamantly. I politely disagreed when she said they didn't want me to go home hungry, I asked for a dessert to go. When our bill came we had been charged for the inedible sliders. my boyfriend protested the charge and was rudely told that the diner was policy was to charge him. The sliders sucked, but even if they hadn't, the hostess should have graciously refunded the entree cost and absolutely not harassed me at the table. We won't be going back.

I have try a few diners in the area and found this one to be the best, fast service mostly, a few slope poke servers at times, large food portions, big desserts, large menu with lots of items to tempt your tummy. If you like grill cheese they make the best ever. I even had there version of "Surf and Turf" and it was good, not a big fan of their tomato sauce kind of lacks any real taste, and please keep away from the Zucchini ewww LOL I like to see bread plate when bringing bread, or when bring appetizers you have to eat off the same plate. Give more salad dressing two cups be fine for there salads. I found the atmosphere to be nice for a diner some renovations should be done, been the same for to long but still OK, I am not a fan of the people aloud to smoke right out side doors nothing like walking into a cloud of smokers. Over all nice cheap place to go and eat whatever you want anytime you want, parking is ample so go and grab a bite.
