We never order take out/delivery from anywhere but Coco's Pizza, Ciminera's Pizza, and local Chinese places. Last night it was cold, we had no food, and weren't in the mood for pizza or chinese. I stumbled upon this listing while searching "food delivery near me." What a GREAT find! Delivery was fast and the food was out of this world! We are still talking about it and when it gets warmer, I definitely want to go there for dine in. We ordered spring rolls, veggie tofu soup, orange chicken, and gang dang chicken. Every single dish was exceptional and worth the $40 we spent. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were wonderful! I typically do not like curry, but my husband's medium curry gang dang was delicious. I couldn't believe I like it! I cannot wait to try some more things on the menu! Delivery did not compromise the food quality at all. I hardly write reviews, but this place deserves 5 stars. Amazing quality food and service all the way around-at least for delivery.

This was our first time there and I have to say that it was a great experience. The place is clean and very nice inside and the staff was very helpful in explaining different meals to us and so friendly!! Our appetizers were delicious and they gave you time to enjoy them before the entrees came out. Our meals were outstanding, so delicious. What a find, we'll definitely be coming back!

Asian fusion means Thai. Excellent in every way: taste, presentation, atmosphere. Waitress speaks great English. The servers are deferential. Park across the street, behind Dunking Donuts or in the Rite Aid. This is my new favorite Landsdowne restaurant I liked the Gang Masuman better than the Pad Thai.

By FAR the best experience I've had at a Thai restaurant. Food: Fantastic! I love Tom Yum (lemongrass and basil soup), so i started of with a bowl. The broth for this soup blew me away. Such a perfect blend of spices. The standard in Thai food is Pad Thai, so I figured it was a good first bet, and this is the best I've had in the Philly area. Delicious. Dessert was something I've never had before, fried bananas and green tea ice cream. It was surprisingly good. Service: I couldn't find anything to complain about if I tried. The waits were short and he was attentive to everything we needed. He also never felt intrusive, as some over zealous waiters can be. It was a very pleasant experience. Ambiance: You'd never guess the place was as large and as beautiful as it is by just passing by. It seems like every detail of the decor was planned out perfectly. Classy enough for a nice date, but casual enough to chill with some friends. I'm sure that we'll be back time and time again. Definitely worth checking out!

I love this place. I've has the pad Thai, veg pad Thai, fried rice, and fried Thai chili wings, all pure deliciousness, and its alot of food for the price. I actually can get 3 meals out of one order. Yum yum yum!

Went in on a saturday night and had a fantastic food. Went with a bunch of appetizers and shared an entree and loved it all. Started with the tom yum soup and lettuce wraps. Both were enjoyable. Continued with the calamari salad and duck rolls. My only minor complaint was that the duck roll was a bit tortilla like, I'd hope for a more peking duck kind of wrap. But it tasted excellent. Ended with the pad kee mao gai-drunken noodles which were absolutely delicious. This place is fresh and authentic. We said we liked spicy and they didnt hold back. I wish them well. Worried it wasn't too busy. I know the neighborhood already lost a fantastic restaurant in Sycamore. I hope AviAnna stays. Ill be back if it does.

Awesome food and great prices. The wings are the bomb chronic and everything else we had was real good.

Ate here again last night- really love this place. I tried the Tom Yum soup last night for the first time and it was delicious. I also got the beef Gang Dang and it was just the right level of spice. The wait staff is very friendly. It is a welcoming environment and excellent food!

Delicious! This place was recommended by friends and it did not disappoint! My husband and I ordered takeout. We shared the Avi sampler, the Thai fried rice and the orange chicken. Everything had a lot of flavor and the portion sizes were generous. We're definitely going back.

Can I say awesome. I've lived here for a long time and I've seen businesses come and go but Avianna's is a gem. And the best part it's around the corner from my home. Can't wait for my mom to visit, she'll love it as much as I do. The wonton soup is to die for with the perfect taste of bell pepper. The pork fried rice was freshly made. Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly faces.

So what does AviAnna mean you ask? It is the name of a young girl related to the owners here. It also means you now have a new place to try delectable Asian Fusion cuisine! Note that they are a BYOB. The lovely wife and I showed up mid-afternoon today. Metered parking is easy on E. Baltimore Ave at $.25/Hour. The open lot directly across the street is also available and it's free. Be prepared to be surprised when you step through the entrance. This is a beautifully decorated contemporary Asian space. The daughter of the owners gave us the tour of the front dining room, huge back dining room and enormous banquet facility in the very back. Check out the excellent pictures on the well-designed web site. The wife and I decided to each have a soup and entrée and share a desert. My soup was Kiew Nam which is their version of wonton soup with chicken. I have never had wonton soup like this in my relatively long life. It was bursting with fresh vegetables and chicken and delicious. Check out my pic. The wife enjoyed the Thai staple Tom Yum. She pronounced it excellent with the just the right amount of kaffir lime. Both were $8.95. My entrée was Pad Angel Hair with beef ($10.95). It was stir fried with a very light thin soy sauce and the noodle texture was perfect. The wife enjoyed another Thai staple; Larb Gai minced chicken salad ($10.95). Once again the portion was very large and the wife declared it sumptuous and incredibly fresh tasting. Desert was Mango & Coconut Sticky Rice ($5) and was the perfect way to end our meal. Throughout or meal our service was excellent. It was also our pleasure to meet the delightful owners. It's certain we will be back!

I absolutely love the food, the atmosphere, the customer service, and especially the location. My husband and I have designated Avianna as our local date night spot. So far we have tried Pa Ka Prow w/ chicken, Orange Chicken, Thai Chili Wings, Spring Rolls, and Sticky Rice with Mangoes. We have visited here at least four times and have never been disappointed. We love this restaurant!

Delicious food and very friendly, attentive service. My only complaint is that there are only about 1 or 2 vegetarian/vegan options.

Oh so good! This place is an absolute hidden gem. Please do yourself a favor and give it a try. You would never expect an experience like this by just passing by on the outside. First things first. Where do you park? That was my biggest confusion when I decided to go there for the first time. I had no idea. There was a sign in front of the restaurant that said parking across the street, but all I saw was an abandoned looking fenced in lot with some cars in it. Well, that's where you park. I was scared to park there because the signs on the entrance made it seem like I would be towed. I later learned that the restaurant rents this lot out. Yep! This is where you park! It is completely ok and safe to park there. I got inside and was greeted right away by one of the friendliest smiles ever. My waitress Schennel was awesome! I have been there several times and lucky for me she was always working. She made me feel comfortable, like I was at home, and made sure I knew everything about every item on the menu. She gave me some great recommendations and I enjoyed every one of them So I have been here several times and am combining all of my visits into one. I will be uploading a bunch of pictures too. Appetizers: Butter Garlic Sautéed Shrimp = WOW! These came out cooked perfectly and in a wonderful presentation. Each bite had me wanting more. One of my favorites so far! Fried Calamari = Was actually better than other places. It was fried perfectly. Not too greasy and not too much breading. Moist and tasty. I had her add extra spice in my dipping sauce. Thai Chili Wings = Perfect amount of crisp and loaded with flavor. Yum Nua Salad = Thinly sliced grilled beef tossed with scallions, onions, Thai herbs and a spicy lime dressing. I had her make it extra spicy. It was good! Tom Kha Soup = OMGOODNESS! I love this soup! Coconut milk was bangin'! Had some mushrooms, onions, chicken and greens. It was so good! Entree: Pad Kee Mao Gai = Spicy wide noodles sautéed with chicken, fresh Thai basil and a chili garlic soy sauce. I had her add some shrimp in there too. So much flavor! Gang Musamun = Chicken simmered in a light yellow curry combined with coconut milk, potatoes, carrots and onions. I added shrimp to this too. The veggies were crisp and the meats were perfect. Dessert = Fried Banana and Coconut Ice Cream. The bananas melted in my mouth. So good! Check this place out and tell all your friends about it. It is BYOB. There is plenty of room. That atmosphere is wonderful and the food is amazing. This is now a weekly stop for me. I can't get enough! I have been to many Thai style restaurants and this is now on the top of my list. 5 stars!

I was drawn in by the rating, then disappointed. The pad thai was standard for sure. Not amazing in any way, shape or form. The spring rolls were super tiny and dry. The was also a fly that was disruptive. With vietnam cafe 3 miles away, I don't see any you'd come here.

Really, really amazing! We happened upon this restaurant because we were in the area and had time to kill. What a great find! The som tum is the best we've had outside of Thailand, but beware that it is VERY spicy! My husband had the vegetarian masuman curry which was light and flavorful. I had the pad kee mao gai, which is like drunken noodles. It was full of al dente veggies, and the noodles were the perfect consistency and not mushy. The waitress asked us for our preference on spice level for our entrees. Don't forget to get the mango sticky rice for dessert! We were stuffed, but got talked into it, and were so grateful we decided to get it!

AviAnna came recommended by a fellow YE who thankfully turned me onto a place which I will be frequenting to satisfy cravings for one of my favorite cuisines- Asian Fusion. I can't wait to bring a few friends here. It's close to the neighborhood where I grew up in an area that is now bouncing back from the bad economy. *** Note: BYOB ( big smiles here). There is parking across Baltimore Pike in a lot for use of Arianna Patrons or you can use cheap metered on-street parking on the same side. It's close to the police station so if you don't use the lot, bring a couple of quarters. 25 cents/hr. Try that in Philly! Arriving as they were opening and dining solo, I was happy to be welcomed as if I was bringing in a $200 check. The wait staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. I started with a traditional Thai Iced Tea which was delightful. Before ordering I took a walk around this beautifully decorated space that when I was a kid occupied a doughnut factory- Virginia Donuts. Try as I might I could find no evidence of its blue collar past. Tasteful in its Asian decor, it is pleasant and pretty. There are two jade Buddhas here which are absolutely enchanting. Menu: - Thai Iced Tea-- The best I've ever had. - Duck roll- Duck deep fried in rice paper with scallions and hoison sauce-- Perfection - Seafood Hotpot which was Hot and sour soup with lemongrass, exotic spices, mussels, calamari, scallops, shrimp, salmon, and vegetables. A 5 star meal with 5 star service in 5 star surroundings! I met Joy the owner and mentioned to her about the neighborhood revitalization and how restaurants have been a big part of it. Just then I noticed the banquet facilities in back which were very nice. The previous night they had served 70 people. The great food will bring in both diners and banquet patrons. Trust me when I say AviAnna is a nice part of Lansdowne's future and will be here for years to come.

The food is below average. Goodness! This was my third attempt. I eat a lot of Thai and I'm shocked. The staff is nice and the atmosphere beautiful. The food needs work.

It is very obvious that I'll be bucking a trend but this was not up to what I would consider "good" Thai. To be fair, I ordered delivery which is always a chance with Thai. But - the food lacked flavor. The meat in the Panang was 'over boiled', and none of the dishes even came close to even a medium in the heat. The appetizers were over fried, and dripped with excess oil. Even looking through the pictures of stuff served on site - most of them seem 'pale" and lacking compared to what I'm used to. I don't see us changning from our Favorite local Thai for this one - even if it does look like they have a very polished look and feel.

This place is the best! Fresh, delicious food, reasonable prices, BYOB. Very close to the Lansdowne train station (5 minute walk), with plenty of parking and a super spacious interior. Great atmosphere with dimmed lights and stylish decor, but quiet enough for conversation. Excellent service, and the mango sticky rice is to die for! Can't recommend highly enough. This review was written reluctantly as I really enjoy this place and fear an influx of hungry Philadelphians, but happiness is only real when shared, right?

I finally stopped in for a date night with the BF...and I'm glad we did! I love Thai/Vietnamese food and enjoy it often...and I must say that the food here is just awesome. I've been here several times now and am convinced that they have the best Pho I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned broth and so comforting on a cold day. The Thai chicken wings are amazing, and spring rolls so tasty. I've also had the chargrilled salmon w/ tamarind garlic pepper sauce and the chicken pad ka prow which are both very good. BF had the tilapia which he enjoyed very much. The only con I have was that the tamarind sauce was a bit salty, but that didn't ruin my meal. Finally....dessert: Fried banana and coconut ice cream is everything! Can't wait to go back and try something different like the fried calamari or crispy duck. Good thing I live so close by.

What everyone says is what we experienced as well. Excellent food with friendly and attentive service at what really is a bargain. Owner stopped by our table.. what a nice man. I wish him all the success in this new restaurant. Plenty of parking across the street. We are definitely going back.

I love this place! It's a hidden gem in the area. The Thai chili chicken wings are so delicious. The ingredients they use taste fresh. The fried rice is also great. So much great flavor in their food. I really hope this place becomes popular, it needs to become a mainstay! Plus they have delivery through GrubHub.

Awesome meal! I got the Duck Spring Rolls and the Orange Chicken, both really good... but that chicken! It had the most crispy crust. Yum. It was super clean and the staff was very attentive. The owner gave us a tour of the place, really nice guy. Oh, and the bananas with coconut ice cream a must:) We will be back for sure.

After years of being a regular at their SW Philly location (Taste of Asia) I decided to actually eat in here after getting take out a couple of times. It is a fabulous gem in Lansdowne. I went here with my wife, three kids, and both sets of parents. They were accommodating to our large group. The food was excellent, and loved by each member of our party. In fact, we came here because my parents, who were visiting from Massachusetts, requested a visit to the SW Philly location. When I say everything on the menu is good, I mean it. The best part of the food is that everything tastes fresh. I think you can judge a place by the vegetables they serve with the meal. And Aviannas scores big here. The veggies taste like they were picked off the farm that day. The meats taste like they were butchered that day too. They have also mastered the perfect amount of spices, seasoning, and sauces. They always seem to accentuate the meal and not drown out or mask not-very-flavorful meats. The service is always top notch. They wait on you like a valued guest and member of the family without hovering over you. The decor is very nice and relaxing. The place is BYOB. I also was here with two young kids who got a bit noisy at the end. They didn't seem to mind at all, and in fact, were especially friendly to them. I appreciated that.

We had the best experience here! I needed a place to have a big family lunch following my daughter's christening. I called at the last minute and they happily took my reservation. They had a nice long table set up for our large group. The restaurant is beautiful! Very nice decor and very welcoming. I believe our host/server was one of the owners. She was very nice and attentive. Took time to explain the menu and went over popular items. There were 15 of us total. Everyone in our party loved their food! I could not have picked a better place. Some menu highlights: - wonton soup with chicken and vegetables-refreshing and delicious - orange chicken - fried dumplings - Thai wings - fried catfish Delicious! We will be back

This place is conveniently close to me which makes it that much more disappointing. The items listed as vegetarian should not be, as they contain oyster sauce and/or fish sauce. Oysters and fish aren't vegetables. This is simply irresponsible, and I fear for anyone with a shellfish allergy. I've eaten here twice. The first time egg was in my dish but not listed in the menu. I was upset as I do not eat eggs--again a consideration for those with dietary restrictions or food allergies. My favorite Thai dish is pad woon sen, which isn't available on Avianna's menu. "Pad angel hair" was the closest, though it has wheat noodles instead of rice noodles, and bell peppers. It was okay. Nothing special. My dining companion got the fried rice, and was unhappy, but the only thing he could say about it was that "the corn is kind of weird." Soda is canned. Mediocre to poor/inattentive wait staff. Mediocre food. The front door makes the cold outside air continually blast inside during the winter, and it rarely fully shut despite loudly slamming.

The Pho dishes were pretty good, but they seem to have issues with delivery orders placed through the Eat-24 service, The two orders of Pho arrived exactly as expected, but not the 2 orders "Phad Thai," which is meant to made with Tofu instead of Shrimp/Chicken. They instead sent one order of "Pad Thai" made with the Chicken/Shrimp which doesnt work for either of the two people who were supposed to have eaten the Phad Thai. I called but they were half an hour from closing and said they could not correct their mistake, so I asked for a refund to my card for the two items which were missing/seriously wrong. I was told that their cashier was not in so I'd have to come in to the restaurant and get a cash refund. I instead opted to contact the Eat-24 service and have the items removed from my order and refunded. I am still giving three stars instead of less becauseI more or less believe that this was just an unfortunate series of circumstances and not an accurate representation of the business as a whole.

This place was such a nice find after the restaurant we'd had originally planned to go to was closed due to unforeseen events. The atmosphere is relaxing and very peaceful. The place is BYOB which gives this place a star just on that alone. If you ever stop by get the fried chicken dumplings for the appetizer and, my personal new favorite, the Pad Prew Wan. Our waiter was very friendly and she was so open with us about the menu options. This is definitely one of my new favorite places.

Best Thai food I've ever had. I can't believe it only opened 6 weeks ago! The restaurant is beautifully renovated, with soft lighting and lovely decor. Unlike most restaurants that are too sparse or overwhelming, AviAnna's decor is balanced and kind of spa-like. The food is phenomenal. It's fresh, flavorful, and perfectly done. We had calamari, pork fried rice, and gang musamun. The calamari was so fresh and so wonderfully fried - it wasn't greasy or chewy, and the chili sauce was exactly what you imagine when you think of perfect chili sauce to go with calamari. The pork fried rice was incredible. I know, how exciting can fried rice be? But it WAS. It was so flavorful, so delicious, and the portions are HUGE. I was already trying to figure out who would come with us next time we go so we can justify getting it again so that I can try other menu items. The gang musamun, (a yellow curry dish with chicken, carrots, potatoes and onions), was unbelievably delicious. The chicken was perfect, the vegetables were perfectly cooked, and the curry itself was amazing. Even the white rice served with it was perfectly done - sticky and ideal for soaking up curry. The potatoes were neither mushy nor crunchy, yet the carrots were sweet and tender, and the onions were melt in your mouth translucent. We had to firmly and adamantly say no to dessert in case we burst. But next time, we're going to have to try it. If I have one complaint, it's that we won't be able to get a table in six months.

My Wife and i have visited and enjoyed everything we ate, never eating the same thing, twice. Over three visits and counting, it does not get tired. Heng's Thai has competition, BIG TIME. Over 30 years ago, i worked here when it was Virginia Donuts; it was spacious then and it is now. Banquets are going to be big business. The food will see to that. They season their food, the food has flavor; whether it be Soup, Salad or, one of their many Entrees. The Thai Trinity is present: Kaffir Lime Leaves, Lemon Grass and Galangal, from subtle to, oh yeah. This is Thai, not Fusion. The Cuisine Restaurant up the street should take notes. There is nothing on the Menu that i can not recommend. There is street and lot parking, all metered. The Bathrooms are Handicapped accessible. Sorry, there are no stores to do window shopping, to and from your car. We have yet to try the Buffet, when we do we will update this review. Unlike other recent restaurant reviews, AviAnna has not resorted to posting reviews before opening. Although my check ins do not reflect it, Elizabeth and i have been here over 4 times, and we have not been disappointed and we do not expect to. If they are going to be closed for any Holiday, they should give notice!!! My biggest complaint, so far.

My mother, my son and I had dinner here last night. The entire experience was fantastic! Large free parking lot directly across the street. Spacious fairly quiet rooms for relaxed dining. Started off with chicken cheese egg rolls and Won Ton soup for all. The egg rolls were delicious and the soup was very tasty, garnished with fresh vegetables. Our entrees were also quite good. I especially enjoyed my orange chicken. The service was excellent and the wait staff was enormously helpful and friendly. A great value. We will definitely return on our next trip to The Philadelphia area.

Great food! I had the thai wings and the calamari for starters. They were both crunchy and delicious. The staff was nice. We were the only ones there for a while on Saturday night. My wife had the chicken curry and I had some chicken and noodles. The curry sauce was looser than I'm used to, but it tasted great. My noodles and chicken were good too, but I'll probably get the curry next time.

I was passing by Avianna a few weeks ago and wondered what this place was like. So I went in and ordered some takeout. It was delicious!!!!!! I have been back 3 times since then because the food is amazing. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. I called one Sunday evening, not realizing they were closed. The woman who answered told me they were closed on Sunday nights, but I could order anyway because they had a private party so the kitchen was set up. Now that is good customer service.

Unexpected pleasure. We discovered AviAnna by driving by it. Very curious that such a place had located in this area. But, YELP reviews convinced us and our friends to try it rather than head to Center City for Cambodian food. Were we very pleasantly surprised! Everything was first rate in both taste and presentation. Our friends who have been to Thailand twice said it was the best they have had in a very long time. My wife and I shared a dumpling appetizer, the papaya salad, she had salmon, I had a seafood soup and we shared the fried banana-coconut ice cream dessert which cost us a total of $50 including iced tea. Reasonable give the quality. Our server (the daughter of the owner) was delightful and very knowledgeable of world cuisines. A delight to chat with. BTW, they offer a sizable lunch special on Friday and Saturday for $8.95! It is also a BYOB! Parking is easy on Baltimore Pike. Us food fans who drive by local places with huge crowds that offer mediocre food in favor of such places as this and Pho Street in Springfield need others like us to support these gems. They do NOT disappoint!

They just opened and I've been there 4 times. The food is good, the people are friendly and the portions are generous. I went for one Sunday brunch and found Thai food (stir fried chicken and tamarind glazed fish) as well as traditional American food (omlets, potatoes, bacon, sausage and pancakes). Parking is easy just one block away at a municipal lot or on quiet residential streets just a block north. They have a lot of seating and it's nicely spread out, unlike other places that jam you into tiny spaces; that should make for nice and quiet conversation during dinner. As with all Landsdowne restaurants: use it or lose it!

Oh my. I can't begin to say enough good things about this place! Food: TOP notch- LOVED it. I had the Wonton soup- it was literally the best I'd ever had, and loaded with veggies, bursting with flavor. My husband had the Tom Yum, and his was equally awesome. Honestly, we don't think about soup that much, so it was startling to have taste that awesome right at the beginning of our meal. I ordered the Panang curry, it was fabulous and the portion was huge. Your $$ go a long way there. Ambience: great! It was very clean and classy, and extremely comfortable. I would take a date there, or just grab lunch with a friend. Very tasteful decor, not overdone. Service: excellent. Our waiter, the owner, was clearly a pro and knew exactly when to appear and when to disappear. Never had to wait for anything, and our needs were perfectly anticipated. We will be back. Like, tomorrow.

Great ambiance and great location - just cause the restaurant is only 2 miles away from home. Lovely place to come and chill after work. The owners and waitresses/waiters are very friendly. Food comes in big servings, is tasty, but not as spicy as I'd have liked. They taste more like Americanlized Thai foods. I love vegetarian dishes and they have a good selection of those - salads, thai/laos?salads, spring rolls, stir fry vegs and tofu dishes.
