Food was very good, and was ample in portions. We ate in their dining room that had white tablecloths and napkins. Wait staff was very attentive. We had Tsad Liu Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan, and Beef with Scallion (no appetizers). Each dish came with an individual bowl of white rice. The only warning I can give is that there is no soy sauce on the table, and the menu suggests not to add extra soy sauce. So, if you really eat Chinese style (a bite of rice with a bite of entree), you should be OK. The three of us got out of there for just over $30, which considering how well it tasted was a great deal.

This is my go to for Chinese in Lancaster County. Like everywhere else, it is decently enjoyable until you start wondering about the meat. Next time thinking about getting the Lo Mein without the chicken or shrimp. Only problem is that food has been getting greasier and greasier. Wife likes the Sweet & Sour Shrimp. Even so, they are light years ahead of Tony Wangs or #1 Chinese (Bridgeport) if that is even possible.

Pretty standard fare Chinese food. Nothing I had was bad, nothing I had stood out as excellent. It's doable.

I love Yang's food. The people are nice. They deliver very quickly and their food is absolutely top shelf. In a city that isn't exactly overflowing with great Asian food (there is some but not a lot), Yangs is awesome. It's one of the favorite delivery dinners in our house.

The place is connected to a car wash and looks run down on the outside but inside is extremely nice. Not much of a section though and they are pretty expensive compared to other places. It cost me nearly $30 just for 2 combinations and boneless ribs. Order general taos and it wasn't spicy at all and the pieces were huge so there wasn't much. Nice place but I've had better and cheaper.

I remember Yang's from years ago as it's my parents favorite Chinese restaurant for eating out. The food is solid, always good. I too, have never gotten a bad meal. The service is very fast and efficient. They'll get you seated and served in no time!

Best Chinese food in Lancaster. I have never had a bad meal there. I don't know anyone who has eaten there and didn't like it. The outside is unremarkable, but the inside is done well. It may not be as fancy or eye catching as some of the other Chinese restaurants in Lancaster, but Yang's food is better then all of them. The food quality is much better than most Chinese restaurants. I have never gotten any fat or gristle in any of their meals. The thing that makes Yang's food stand out, aside from their above average quality of ingredients, is the flavor. I've tried some Chinese restaurants where the food is good and I like the flavor but there isn't a lot of flavor to speak of. This place is different; their food is very flavorful, not bland like many of the buffet style Chinese restaurants. This is a great place to have a sit down meal or stop in for some quick take out. Inside, it is very nicely done and a great place to sit and relax. It can get very busy so the noise in the restaurant can get a little loud, but that's a testament to how popular this place is. The staff is polite and attentive. This place gets high marks for food quality and for having such an attentive wait staff. If you like Chinese food I can't imagine this place disappointing anyone. I live in Mount Joy. When we order take out, we go to Yang's. There are probably a dozen different Chinese restaurants between Mount Joy and Lancaster, but none of them match the food quality at Yang's.

You know those places that don't really look so impressive on the outside but have killer good food? Well... here you have it! Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that it looks bad on the outside or anything like. It just looks like a regular Chinese restaurant. The food is cheap and it is really good. The people are very friendly and the food is fast. I have eaten here for years. I used to order lunch all the time. They do deliver. The chicken with broccoli in white sauce is just awesome. Let's put it this way. When I go to any other Chinese restaurant and order the Chicken with broccoli, I think to myself... "Is this going to be as good as Yangs?" The hot and sour soup is very good as well. If you haven't tried this place yet, give it a shot. I think you will be very pleased with the food as well as with the bill.

Pretty good food! Have been going here since I was a little kid(mid 80s) and have always had consistently good food. The ambience and atmosphere are to be desired, however, the food and service make up for it.

I've been going to Yangs for years and I love their food soooo much, but this is the second time in a year that sickness hit after ordering takeout from them. Yesterday evening (6/25/12) I good a fav, Egg Foo Young that I picked up and brought home. A couple hours later I was bringing it up and out in such nasty ways. I had been feeling fine, them whammo, I woke up from a dead sleep with the worst kind of sickness all night long. Last year (May, 2011) my b-friend and I got Yangs and even ate the same thing, He woke up from a dead sleep and had projectile vomiting, nasty bowels, etc etc. The worst thing was we were moving that day and he COULDN'T"T MOVE without feeling and being horribly sick everywhere. Lets just say I had to re clean the old apartment. He got it a lot worst than I did and was sick for a solid day, me it was for a few hours last night, but each time it was from Yangs because neither one of us had any other outside food either one of those day. I love Yangs, but this is too much and we don't plan on going back. Just be careful folks.

Food and service were very good, better than any other I've tried in the area. I certainly plan to return.

We used to eat here all the time before they started to reuse the noodles they gave out as an appetizer...And they wouldn't let you take your leftover rice home...We never had a problem before but either the ownership changed or the waitresses are lazy?

Some of the best Chinese delivery good I've ever had. Eggs rolls aren't good but the rice/stirfry combs are awesome. Not too much sauce and good prices.

Going to yangs or the "yellow shack" as we call it is one of the ways to get a cheap good tasting lunch. For about 4$ the lunch menu items are a steal for the portion sizes they give. Friendly staff, good food. Not too much for vegetarians tho, I always get vegetable fried rice as there isnt much else to choose from. Parking can be at a premium on a friday, but you rarely if ever will have to wait to be seated at a table. Credit cards accepted, no american express. Located 2 doors down from rice and noodles, next to a sunoco station.

Unassuming spot is home to the best wonton soup on the planet. Always have a fantastic meal here...Yangs somehow raises the bar on standard Chinese fare.

Simply the best Chinese food. Went on a busy Saturday night, and the cleanliness, service and taste was great. We ordered the House Lo Mein, Steak Lo Mein, Beef with Broccoli and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Each dinner portion was easily enough for two. Our server was attentive and checked back often to fill water glasses or refill the hot tea. The outside of the building is unimpressive, but the food is wonderful. This will definitely be our only Chinese restaurant.

I needed lunch. Skirting the edge of downtown Lancaster, and GPS-less, I stumbled upon Yang's. This yellow shack looks like part of the Sunoco, but it's not. I asked how long they've been around and was told +20 years. Then I wondered if they had take out. (Is the Pope Catholic?) Their menu's what you'd expect from a typical Chinese restaurant, hiding no surprises. I asked customers what was good: one person said "everything", then recommended their fried rice, so I asked for a pint of pork fried rice ($3.75). In less than 10 minutes, I had a bag with my dish, a fork, napkins, a few soy sauce packets, and extra hot oil. Scarfing down my prize, I had to stop several times to ponder its amazing taste. It's true hunger is the best sauce, but once I quelled my hunger pangs, I still could appreciate my dish's unexpectedly good texture and ingredients, and its soy sauce-induced color. For less than $4, you too can buy a pint of happiness.

Usually good delivery, but this time, they screwed up the order (chicken wings instead of fried dumplings). When I called back to tell them, I was told "I read it back to you." No, you didn't -- I can tell the difference between "wings" and "dumplings." Then I was asked, in a rude tone, "Did you eat them?" What are you going to do, take them back?!? When I said that we are not going to be ordering from there anymore, the reply was "OK." OK, indeed...

Out in Lancaster for business, and had a craving for some good Chinese. After reviewing several spots, I picked Yang's because of the reviews on here. I ordered my three favorite items off a Chinese menu: Hot & Sour soup, cold noodles with sesame sauce, and Kung Pao chicken. For those who don't know, KPC is supposed to be hot & spicy as a rule, which is why it's always printed in red on menus. I asked for it "extra spicy", which, hopefully, would be hot enough to give a normal person gastrointestinal distress for two or three days. The staff was friendly, and I got my food within 10 minutes, which is remarkable considering I had just come in off the street, I would rate the soup at about a 4 out of 5. It was pretty good, and I had high hopes for the rest of the meal. However, it went nowhere after that. the Sesame Noodles were dry as a bone. It was basically noodles with scallions & sesame sprinkled on top. i thought there was supposed to be "sesame sauce", hence the name, but I guess they forgot. If it wasn't for the fresh scallions, it would be even more tasteless than it was. I give it a 1. As for the Kung Pao, while there were tons of crispy peanuts in there, it's supposed to be Kung Pao CHICKEN, not Kung Pao Peanuts,. Where's the chicken? I found out later, after I dug my way about an inch down the container, that the peanuts all somehow coincidentally rose to the top. EIther that, or they were thrown in the container last. All the chicken and thin sauce with the flavor turned out to be at the bottom. Not convenient if you're eating out the take-out container. The only way to enjoy this dish would be to pour it out onto a plate or bowl. Better yet, where's the spice?? I hardly taste any heat at all, despite asking for EXTRA SPICY. Peanuts are tasty, green peppers are fresh, but there's nothing remarkable about this dish,. I give it a 3. All in all, not bad, but I will be trying someplace else next time.

Best Chinese in Lancaster. They are also the best price - maybe because the building is attached to a car wash or something like that. It is clean and the staff is friendly and the food is exceptional. I have never been disappointed. If you get some bad news about your health at LHG you need to go to this place - it's good for what ales you. (And you will probably run into your doctor there). Seriously - check this place out!

This is not a buffet place. My husband and I decided to give it a try the other day. I am a Chinese. I have to say, this place is one of the most authentic restaurant in Lancaster area. Compare to most of the Chinese restaurants here that make Americanized Chinese food, this place is considerably authentic.

My husband wanted "sit down Chinese food" for his birthday. We came across Yang's on Yelp, and decided to give a try. I'm not a Chinese food fan, but I really did like this place! Andy got one of their house specialties and I got (what I thought was going to be) plain old chicken and brocolli. No! It wasn't plain! It was wonderful! Note: Don't ask for soy sauce. It seems to offend them...the food doesn't need it at all!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
