This place is great for watching football on their eight or nine screens. I don't know why it's not packed?! The food- I usually have Jamaica jerk wings and a burger- is cooked and not dipped in some cheap dip. The jerk wings are for real good! A little off the beaten path to downtown but still walkable.

My SO and I frequent this place often, mostly for convenience reasons. The place is spacious and clean. The bartenders are great, I have a few favorites :) There are TVs set up around the bar, making this place a good spot to watch games. The food is also surprisingly good. Their wings are juicy and meaty, my SO will devour them. Their quesadillas are good, as are their burgers and smoked meats. Their smoked chicken...delicious! One thing I will say is that I am not a fan of their fries. Their chips are so much better! If you can upgrade your chips to fries with your meal, don't do it!! At night time, if you're looking for a place to go out, this place is a hit or miss. Sometimes, it's slow and empty, other times it's packed and super busy with a lot of interesting characters. I love being here on a busy night and people watching :)

Ok, this is the first time I have ever written a review to warn anyone about absolutely poor service. I ate there on a Sunday with my wife and 16 year old son. The guy waiting on us could have cared less whether we were there or not. After our food arrived, he never came over to ask us if it was alright or if we needed anything else to drink- which we did! After waiting for 20 minutes my wife flagged him down to get some "to go" boxes and our bill. He proceeded to hang out with buddies at the bar. After another 5 minutes of watching this I got up from our table, found where the takeout boxes were and got them myself. When he saw me do this he quickly printed out our bill. Needless to say we will not come back to this place again. Which is unfortunate because we like to support local community businesses.

Not a huge fan of sports bars, I try to avoid them. Sat in the room to the left which wasn't so bad. From the 'Fat Pig' menu: Pulled pork sandwich was awesome...so juicy and the bun was good too. My favorite was the Mac and cheese..so creamy and flavorful! I would come back just for the Mac and cheese! The service was on point!

I'm an old man and don't carry ID. Why? Because there's no law that compels me and I wasn't driving. My beard is white, how old do I look? I own property in town, the closest being a block from this bar. I've stopped in from time to time since it opened but never will again. I brought a bachelorette party to Lancaster last night and we cruised through most of the nicer bars in town without issue until here. My responsibility was simply to keep them safe while they got inebriated. I was respectful and complied with every request from the staff and manager - including where outside they wanted me to wait for my party. Not only was I refused entry, but they called the police on me for waiting outside while the girls did their thing. Repeatedly. I broke no laws and the police, to their credit, had no interest in arresting me any of the three times they showed up. The staff's only reason was that I didn't have ID. I don't have to. Study the Liquor Code if you don't believe me (47 P.S. § 4-493 & 495). Meanwhile (while waiting outside for the girls) I observed staff allowing a series of shady-looking characters come and go frequently through the Prince street exit. The neighborhood would be better off without this place.

Remember when The Brickyard was a cool sports bar? Yeah, me too. Unfortunately it is now a shell of its former self. Everything has gone downhill and fast. Been in here after 10pm recently? Trust me, you don't want to be.

Bad all around. Almost everything from the sodas to the meal was awful. Our chicken dishes were pretty bad and the ribs were covered in fat. The salads were ok and the cornbread was mediocre. The fries were good, but soggy and too peppery.

Been here a few times just for wings and beer on their wing night. They ran out of blue cheese, beers are over priced for the atmosphere and service was terrible. We were at a table but had to keep going up to the bar for refills, extra napkins, and our server never came back to clear our plates until way later. Their wings aren't bad though and it's a fun time depending on who you go with.

I have been a long time fan of the brickyard for Sunday football games and the bar scene. Food and service has been excellent every time EXCEPT the last visit on February 2, 2014 and today February 15, 2014. One of the bouncers accused someone in my party of friends of being an accomplice on stealing his iPod 3 years ago. He gave him a difficult time and held up a line out the door because he "looks" like someone who might have stole his iPod. He took a picture of his drivers license ( which has his address on it). It ruined the whole night since we were celebrating someone's 21st birthday because there was drama that the bouncer started. Real mature of you guys. You lost a loyal patron and potential ones ( group of 7 people).

We ate at the Brickyard last night. For ages my daughter kept telling us that their burgers were better than any she'd had in Kansas City, which is saying a lot, since KC has some fantastic burger joints. Let me just say, the hype far exceeded the reality. In 53 years I have never suffered from a burger-induced murderous rage, but last evening I did. Perhaps it was the ear shattering volume of the music...no, that can't be it, after all, everyone enjoys screaming at each other trying to be heard, right? Most of the music, while way too loud, was at least listenable, but dropping in the rap song about felatio ...well now. Maybe the vile lyrics and boom bass stylings of the illiterate rap musician/thug waxing rhapsodic about de ho giving him the blow job...prolly not. Not the sort of song to whet the appetite, pardon the pun. Maybe it was the limpid, room temperature, gently poached French fries, served with class in a brown paper bag...hmmm, can't be sure. The overcooked burger that I asked to be cooked medium rare? Maybe. Or perhaps it was the fact that after I informed the waitress that there was no cheese on my cheese burger, she went and brought me the cheese, some ten minutes later, cheese which had been melted. On a plate. In the microwave. A slice of cheese, cooled and congealing in a puddle of cheese grease that might have sent me to the exit. Yes. That was probably it.

Fat Pigs --Barbecue inside the Brickyard . Ok this is why shows like "the Profit " exist when a small business millionaire goes into a struggeling business to fix it. This place is an opportunity waiting to happen but in reality there too stupid to see they have an adudiance, a good product but poor management . Ok lets start with location, its a good part of lancaster, parking is street, parking lot otherwise your on your own. Remember your in the city and while its a baby city your in the city so put your big boy pants on and be aware of your surrroundings. The entrance is down the alley between the Apt and the Brickyard sound --again confusing but no big deal. You go in and go up stairs into a bar . The Brickyard bar is lively , sports theme and was busy. No one will approach you ( or did not approcah us ) so we can read and to the left is a door with "fat Pigs" over the entrance. We walked in like we owned the place and finally a tall guy came over and said "well since your in the place I will sit you down while you wait for servace ???? Ok well perhaps if you or someone greeted us we would wait in the appropriate area spent money on a drink etc (poor planning and management ) . We sit down in what equutes to a fishbowl table that allows anyone walking by ,or on there way to the restroom to be in our conversation. REally strange to place to drop a table and that is just what they did drop a table lol . With some simple fixes, planes , deco, a couple of half walls you have a great atmosphere but dont know if that is in there future or there smart enought to see it . Ok so lets get to the important stuff -food ! Our table ordered ribs --it was 8:30 pm and they were out , that is a good thing and shows they do cook as planned and its takes time to make good barbecue. So we ordered wings, beef Brisket , and a pulled prok platter. WIngs- excellant -lean , fried and sauce is best in the area. Unlike the fried critters you get at Buffalo wild wings lol, one down-we are a fan of the wings. 2) Pulled pork platter --great , lean , juicey , adequit amounts and very fresh. 3) Brisket --tender just enought balance of fat and great meat, excellant frys , corn and corn bread. We passed on alcohal and had ice tea and it was fresh brewed ( or at leaste tasited like it and was stong like tea should be . OUr server was a young women , super friendly attentive and again excellant. Last best surprise was the bill , cheapest meal I have had in ages for three people ! If this place would take about a 1/2 a day , dress itself up a little in the way they seat you, how your seated , and some simple wall deco , some 1/2 walls etc they could have a barn burner fun gig . Trust me I have been to Carolina, Texas, and best of the best for Bar-cue and this place has the taiste and the potential. By the way all the sauces were home made and at your table for mix and match in whatever suits your fancy . Easy fixes to get to the 5 star but who knows if they read there reviews . For food I suggest going , the rest will depend on your level of tolerance for where your seated .

I have been here on many different occasions hoping it would get better each time. There are two bartenders that are absolutely wonderful and have mixed super great drinks. Other times, I have waited 20+ minutes to be served or even acknowledged at the bartop. They immediately card you at the door, which is normal. Every time, the person was not very friendly or welcoming. I recently went for trivia and 30 cent boneless wings. It was a huge disappointment. Myself and three other friends ordered boneless wings and they tasted like rocks. One of my friends asked the server to replace it with the normal wings and he did reluctantly. The trivia was fun though! I will probably not be going back here after constantly being disappointed. They could easily fix the problems they have if they would just staff more people at a time.

Now a quick note before you delve into this review. I hate this place with all my heart. The only reason I'm giving this five stars is due to the fact that I've seen no less than six different fights here that ended with people being tazed. And I wasn't even a customer at the time. Everything else about this place is the worst ever. EVER. But man oh man, watching a guy get tazed, get back up, get tazed again, get back up and finally get tazed and have pepperspray shot in his face. It warmed the cockles of my heart. The fact he was wearing an Ed Hardy shirt at the time was not lost on me. My advice would be see if someone who lives in the apartments next door will let you watch the parking lot on a summer night from the third or fourth floor is the best time to watch dousche bags beat each other up. Don't ever go inside the place though. There be monsters in there.

This place was amazing! The ribs were cooked to perfection! This restaurants cornbread was out of this world! It was perfect for all the people I had with me! This past weekend the Brickyard brought in a different DJ an older female. Now being a former LA club promoter I was a bit skeptical about this. I did not see any advertisement or hear word of mouth about switching DJs. But I have to be honest she was pretty good. Her set was pretty good, kept the crowd dancing which is always a good thing. There were zero problems which makes the Security team's job much easier. Now all they need are a few different themes to bring to the Brickyard, but I will say they are definitely moving in the right direction. Maybe I will come out of retirement and put together an event there ;)

My family went there last night for the first time in months. Decided to give it one last try before giving up. I should have quit last time. We entered a COMPLETELY empty restaurant except for one bartender and one friend of the bartender sitting at the bar. Not a good sign at all. We sat down and waited while the bartender finished his story. By then, we had made up our minds. Bye Brickyard, we walked across the street and had dinner in a packed Alley Kat.

The crowd here is... spotty. I can't really say I've come out on a Fri or Sat and really enjoyed the night. The drinks are decently priced. People tend to file in after midnight and begin their night of dancing. Again, the crowd is quite lame. Sometimes you'll see people getting kicked out for some craziness and the cops get called, but that's not too often. There are pool tables and darts in the back. The food selection is lacking as well. I will say the friend calamari is pretty good, but other than that there's much to be desired in food selection. If there's a big game on, the dining room has a large screen to display the game. Overall, it's a hit or miss experience on a Friday or Saturday night. If you're coming to watch the game and have a bite and a few drinks, it's not a bad choice.

Should have read the reviews before I ventured in. Asked to check my back pack incase I had any weapons.....bad wings....bad burger.....sent the piece of cheesecake back!!! Only good thing is the TV's at each table. Was there to watch football. Cross off my list of Lancaster places.

I can't complain too much since I've been here a handful of times and it has always been a fun time, but that may have been due to the group I was with and nothing else. Some of the reviews are dead on. Drinks are way overpriced, the service is slow, some of the bartenders are dicks and the crowd is always sketchy. Never tried the food but I don't think I would ever consider it anyway.

Ew. Hard to enjoy dinner or drinks with a bunch of half-dressed girls covered in glitter shrieking all around you. Typical meat-market. Maybe if I was 21 again it would be fun. And what's with all the overly tanned d-bags?? Gross.

Great place for sandwiches, salads & even a family dinner if early enough on a weekend pm. Yummy homemade chips! Our fam of 6 had trouble spending $100 for dinner, even with drinks, appetizers & desserts! That in itself is amazing. Great service, too. We'll be back!

4 months ago they replaced the entire kitchen staff I'm told. Wow! What a difference. The food is fantastic now. Great salads, sandwiches and entrees. Drinks are fine for sure and not over priced. Look, I'm 44 so I don't go late night when it is a dance club. Go before 8pm and its a great restaurant.

The Brickyard reputedly started with a lot of high intentions. Sadly, none of them were achieved. It's a cheap sports bar mostly frequented by people who want one thing, to get really drunk for as little money as possible and while that's a goal I'm not entirely unsympathetic to, if doesn't make for a great place to hang out. Disturbances frequently punctuate any evening visit to the Brickyard. The parking is mostly non-existent. Avoid the Brickyard at all costs. There are many better places to go.

Food was good. It was three dollars to upgrade from chips (which were actually really good) to fries. Service was subpar at best. Staff was more concerned about rugby game than the customers.

Tons of TVs in both the dining area and the bar. All booths in the dining area have their own small LCD screen. Most of the food is average, but the bruschetta and the wings are worth going for. Good drink specials most days. Probably the best place in the city to go watch Sunday football and other big sporting events. Can't recommend it for going out at night though, too crowded and loud. Update: To vouch for all the 1 and 2 star reviews about this place, The Brickyard is essentially two different places depending on the time of day. A decent sports bar before 8pm, and then a loud obnoxious dance club at night on the weekends. When it gets transformed into nightclub mode is when you get wanded at the door, and spend the next 20 mins waiting for a drink. If you see people getting frisked at the door at night, just turn around and go somewhere else.
(3)
Nat Z.
Truly wretched. Drinks aren't overpriced, but I'd rather pay more to have a clean bar and a friendly atmosphere. The bartenders don't seem to notice when they overfill a glass and spill sticky substances or beer all over the bar (and then don't clean it up). I knew something was wrong when I got frisked (patted down-- and with one of those metal detector things, too!) before I even went inside. My friend and I witnessed a party of extraordinarily drunk people being escorted out by a crowd of bouncers... another bad sign. This was to be the first of a few bouncer incidents we witnessed. Crappy selection of bottled beers, liquor, and beer on tap. I'd be able to enjoy a cheap or limited assortment of liquor if I could enjoy the atmosphere which, since the Brickyard resembles more closely a frat party than a drinking establishment, seems difficult. Great place to take photos for the acclaimed website, hotchickswithdouchebags.… .

We took a large group out after a show at the convention center on a restaurants.com coupon. No hassle with the coupon, and they housed our 10 people in a private room off to the side. Service was fast and friendly. Food - adequate. We had the prime rib, and the scallops, both house specialties that night. All cooked as ordered with decent tasting sides. Shared appetizers, very usual bar appetizers. Drinks a little on the weak side, but fine and tasty. No complaints about this place.

Bad all around. Almost everything from the sodas to the meal was awful. Our chicken dishes were pretty bad and the ribs were covered in fat. The salads were ok and the cornbread was mediocre. The fries were good, but soggy and too peppery.

Absolutely love their bacon, wings, and pretty much everything on the menu. I'm a Wisconsin girl so I know good meat and that place has turned me into a regular. Friendly and attentive staff as well as the wing night on Tuesdays are a plus as well!

The turkey was amazing and it came with bread which was fun to make sandwiches with! They also have there own homemade sauces which were delicious! I think this place is a must have!

Absolutely love their bacon, wings, and pretty much everything on the menu. I'm a Wisconsin girl so I know good meat and that place has turned me into a regular. Friendly and attentive staff as well as the wing night on Tuesdays are a plus as well!

The turkey was amazing and it came with bread which was fun to make sandwiches with! They also have there own homemade sauces which were delicious! I think this place is a must have!

Nights here turn out weird Watch out for people with knives How is it not closed? (b)

Best wing nite in the area!
(4)Foxy L.

(3)Larry M.

Fast service and cool ambiance. Definitely a sports bar but with some unique food. Every table has a TV. Nice touch.
(4)Joey T.
Yeah. Total sports bar. With total jocky attitudes. The server came up to me like he wanted to arm wrestle me. I looked at all the reviews and thought they were over-exaggerating. Not at all. Not at all....

(3)J A.
Not a bad place to go for some bar food or cheap beer. The happy hours ate pretty good and wing night is awesome. Food is your usual bar food.

the truth hurts, and makes those who are guilty quite angry. too bad.

Went here when I was in college, and thought it was too overpriced for what you get. BUT I had a nice time watching a group of middle-aged people try to act like they were 21 again! Pleasant but not at the same time.

who hasnt gone here at least once in lancaster? it has karoake nights and also "club nights" friday and saturday. they have darts and pool tables and usually a pretty good dj. the food is good

A thing you need to remember. When people talk about security in a bar, stay away :) Now. I think they intentions of this bar are good but its location is SUPER bad. I just dont like it.. you know when a place gives you a bad vibe :)
