I've had the pleasure of having several excellent dinners at Ma(i)son. I'm not sure why their are a few seemingly very negative reviews of this establishment, but can only assume that those writing these reviews must have felt that the pretentiousness they were expecting didn't quite meet their standards. But, without making too many excuses, remember that this is Lancaster, PA. It's not Yountville, CA. I applaud the couple-owning proprietors for keeping it simple and the menu varied. I've personally never had bad service there. Like many restaurants in Lancaster, they are BYOB for beers and wine, and there is a small bottle/corkage fee. Yes, it is a bit "intimate" seating-wise for those who fear invasion of their personal space. But, it is also rustic and charming. It's worth checking-in to see what's on the menu, especially if you have dietary restrictions (for instance, on one occassion I had the oxtail served with marrow in bone that was one of the most decadent and rich meals I think I've ever eaten that made my vegetarian-girlfriend-at-the-time cringe). I will happily go to Ma(i)son again and again. It is a fine place to dine and a welcome addition to the rapidly improving Prince St. corridor. Especially fun to go to on a "First Friday", if you can secure a reservation.

The food was great, although as many others have noted, the noise level was a bit of a challenge. We started with the Artichoke two ways, which were deliciously prepared and all enjoyed. We also enjoyed the handmade burrata. Both are enjoyed with grilled bread which gives them fuller feel. I had the crispy chicken and my other table mates enjoyed the flat iron steak and a slow roasted pork dish, which I think was the best of the group. It is pricey and I don't even want to talk about the "corkage" fee. That said, that is what drops this experience from 5 stars in my opinion.

I have been here a number of times and without a doubt it is my favorite place in Lancaster! The food is awesome, always perfect. The wait staff is the most knowledgable of the products offered that I have met in this area. Most recently, we went to Ma(i)son mid-week and had a later reservation. We ended up being the last to leave and at no time did we feel rushed out the door. We apologized to our waiter Christian for keeping them there and he advised that it was their pleasure to serve us until we were ready to go. Need I say more about service?

Absolutely stunning meal. Foie gras was prepared on crusty, perfect gluten free bread, risotto and mahi delectable. A wonderful dining experience. We will be back.

I want to love this beautiful, sweet, little place, but is just does not do it for me. I ate there last night for my 30th birthday dinner. I was looking forward to it so much. My partner and I both tried a $28 spaghetti dish served with crab and cauliflower. The crab and cauliflower were blended into a baby food style paste and served as the sauce in a light oil. The flavor was not great, the portion was gigantic and unbalanced and the presentation was ugly. I was very disappointed in the dish. I could make something much better. Honestly - The Burrata is the only reason to patron this establishment. And - If you are going to go, try a protein based dish - they succeed a bit more in this area. I've tried this restaurant 5-8 times, and although some dishes proved successful (20% of the time), I would say it overall doesn't work and not worth the risk of your time and money. I don't think I will go again =(

FRESH! That is the one word I would use to describe this place! The couple of times I have been here I was pleasantly surprised. The menu changes frequently and they focus on what they can get fresh and what is in season. Everything that I have tried on this menu tastes like the chef walked behind the restaurant to a secret garden picked the vegetables and brought it into the kitchen for the dish he was preparing for me. Everything about this place is great. The ambiance is intimate. Dimly lit with a rustic woody feel to it. The wait staff is very attentive and has a sense of pride about their restaurant. They are helpful and will point you in the right direction based on what you are in the mood for. The food... delicious and did I mention fresh? Cause it is fresh! The style is a hybrid between country Italian and French. The dishes are rustic with a modern plating. The chef is creative and has a keen attention to detail. The only minor issue I have with this place is it is BYOB and that is kind of annoying and if I am speaking frankly a little tacky for a place that is this classy. If they could just wrangle a liquor license and keep a few bottles of wine stocked, this place for sure would be a 5 star all the way.

Four stars for food selection and service. Minus a star for charging $8 for bread that was not asked for (2 slices, no less) and the portion size. I appreciate what they're trying to do (local farm to table) and the service was friendly. I'm a pescatarian, and the night I went they had no non-meat entree options. Not a single one - fish, seafood, vegetarian... The food we did order was very nice, especially the burrata appetizer with pickled persimmon, pomegranate seeds and arugula. The food is obviously fresh and carefully curated. We were quite surprised to look at our bill and see that they charged $8 for bread that is just given to you, and not ordered. It is clearly marked on the blackboard that extra bread is a $1. Note: Corkage fee for a bottle of wine is $5. Typical and not the end of the world, but FYI.

Had a special dinner there with close friends...., because we were a party of 8 Leeann offered us an upstairs dining area. Our meal was awesome! Service friendly and timely. Taylor the chef made a lamb pasta dish we all loved. The meal was topped off with an apple pastry dessert.....Yummy! Only positive praise for the team at Maison. Our group expectations were exceeded. Thank you to Leeann and Taylor

Once again Ma(i)son did not disappoint. We had a wonderful meal last evening and our server Christian was great. I enjoyed the slow braised lamb with the cannellini beans as my entree. Chef Taylor Mason hit it out if the park with that one. My wife enjoyed a few salad appetizers, one being their signature burrata cheese, which were equally scrumptious. If you haven't tried this place yet, it's a must for anyone who enjoys superb food and a splendid atmosphere.

The best part of a recent visit was that the table was ready for us when we arrived for our 8 pm reservation. If they ask you if you've been before, even if you haven't lie and say you have, otherwise you need to hear their pretentious farm to table spiel. (I think they watched Portlandia and thought it was a documentary instead of satire.) The most surprising thing about this place is that they charge for things that customarily provided at no charge. What should be one of the restaurant's assets - the fact that it is BYO - they manage to turn into a negative. They have the gall to charge a corkage fee. I've been going to BYOs for 20 years, and have never, EVER, been charged a corkage fee before. This goes against the philosophy of being BYO. Oh, then if you'd like a second piece of bread, that'll cost you a buck. Really??? The extra bread fee was avoided by ordering the corn tartine and chicken liver appetizers. They both came over the bread, but were under seasoned. They were otherwise fairly good, and very substantial for an appetizer. It's a good thing we had all that bread, because we were in a long wait until we would see our entrees. It took over 40 minutes for them to arrive. There are only 4 entrees on the menu, it is a small restaurant that seats about 30 people and it was prime time on Friday night - so why would it take the kitchen over an hour to have two entrees done in a reasonable amount of time? The swordfish entree turned out to be different from what was anticipated. First, I've never seen such a thin piece of swordfish before; it was about the thickness of a sushi piece. Instead of being served over the fregola sardo pasta, which is like Israeli couscous, it came over white polenta; a substitution I wasn't expecting and that didn't work. Also, the dill clashed with the fennel and cherry tomatoes. The other entree, the heritage pork, was slow roasted pork shoulder. The meat was tender, but it would have benefited from a sauce to jazz things up. When the check came and we inquired about the unexpected corkage fee and noted how long it took for the food to come and how then it was not what was expected, the server did nothing to ameliorate our concerns.

This place is great. It doesn't get 5 stars b/c its a little expensive and there is no bar. I've been here on multiple occasions and have had a great experience trying unique and fresh foods every time. For instance last time I was there I had hog head which was literally a pigs head de-boned and slow cooked over night to perfection. If this place was open for lunch i'd be broke bc i would be there all the time. It is BYOB so bring your wine and they'll cork it for you and if you go with a group get as many different things as you can and share all of it.

Had excellent dinner here with friends. Prompt, efficient service. Delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts. About $150 for 2. Can't wait to go back.

Visiting Lancaster and was delighted to find this place, great staff. Great seasonal menu as it should be, all local produce and a local grower, fresh ingredients means excellent and delicious dishes. We had the burrata and cockles as apps and for the main the pork belly was delish, and the Ravioli on the money.

Great experience and this would be on our list for repeat visits if it was more local for us. The food was excellent and a great farm-to-table execution. We read comments about the service but our service was very good and exactly what we would want in a smaller, personal setting. The cost is higher than some other farm-to-table/BYOB restaurants but I guess this could be due to the fewer tables and need to maximize the revenue across fewer diners. An example is the corking fee ($5) which is a fee I don't pay at some of our other favorites. I do expect to pay this in the larger city establishments. To summarize, it is a great restaurant and dining experience.

  • Georgina S.

Excellent service, produce and meat selection (finest in season) and menu concept and execution are all phenomenal. I did not expect this fine and high quality of food in Lancaster...maybe DC or NYC...but not in humble Lancaster. I can sense a strong classically trained and talented artist chef that delights guests with farm-to-table simple surprises. Parisienne Gnocchi (pillowy rather than chewy)...traditional bruschetta with a twist serving newly harvested corn as the main feature instead of just tomatoes and mozzarella...non-traditional dark meat hen served with frilly pea shoots and young corn...soft hand made burrata with oil infused cherry tomatoes with grilled bread..all well executed by the kitchen! Bring on your expectations, and for sure they will exceed them. I went back to our Marriott Hotel concierge manager and recommended that this should be the top on their list for local restaurants.

Excellent. Great food, service, ambiance. Much of their menu features organic, local grown ingredients. It is BYOB, which isn't a problem as long as you know in advance.

First time dinner guest at Ma(i)son & highly satisfied! I say dinner guest, because you truly feel like you've been invited to a chef's home for an incredible meal. Our server, Christain, was excellent & very knowledgeable about the menu. We raved about all of our food & left completely satisfied. The gnocchi was the lightest I have EVER tasted. Delish. The rabbit croquettes were cooked perfectly & had such a flavorful sauce, I wish we'd ordered a second plate. I have only good things to say! We'll be back. Keep up the good work!

Why this place does not have five or even six stars is one of life's great mysteries to me. I've been here at least half a dozen times; every meal, every time, was perfect. The chalkboard menu options are always delicious, it's BYOB so I can drink exactly what I want, and it's small. Come here before the hipsters discover it and ruin it!

We are in love with this place! Beautiful space, delicious food, sourced local ingredients, the love of what they do comes through. Highly recommended!

Posted: 9/18/2015: I see that I reviewed Maison two years ago. How time flies! I wanted to post an update, based on a recent meal there. Not that there are any big changes to report, except that Maison seems to have improved. I wasn't sure that was possible, but my meal was exceptional. An example: a tomato salad of impeccably fresh local heirlooms, on a slab of house-made sourdough fried in olive olive, with a bacon and horseradish dressing. The bacon in the dressing was in minuscule dice and was blanched to lend a slightly smoky flavor; there was just enough horseradish to contribute slight pungency to the dressing. The dish was fantastic: fresh, well-balanced flavors and textured, the dressing just the right complement to sour/sweet tomatoes. I also (really) enjoyed rabbit croquettes--crispy balls of rabbit deliciousness--and lovely, light gnocchi with corn, shishito peppers, and bacon. In some other reviews, I noticed complaints about the corkage fee. Really? You're complaining about a $5.00 fee that means your BYO wine is served and poured into real glasses that need to be washed, dried, stored, etc. Get over it: that's a bargain! [And if you're from out of town, there's a very good liquor store at 2076 Fruitville Pike with a wide range of wines: it's worth the trip.] _________________________________________ Posted 9/3/2013: There's almost no point in describing my meal at Maison because you won't be able to taste the same things I did. But there's still value in regaling you with what I ate because these dishes beautifully illustrate the thinking -- and, more importantly, the execution -- of a talented kitchen. The overall quality of the experience at Maison is delightful. First, the room: it's small and intimate, cozy. Laid back and warm. A large blackboard dominates one wall. It's hard to miss, and essential, since the menu selections are hand lettered in chalk. Expect frequent changes. One farm grows most of the produce that Maison serves and as much of the the rest of its provender as possible is bought locally. These days, "fresh" and "local" are the starting points for many restaurants. But they're not sufficient in and of themselves for a meal. How those ingredients are treated before they reach your plate, how they're cut and dressed and cooked make all the difference between a great meal and one that fills your belly but fails to affect you beyond that. I'm happy to say that the quality of ingredients at Maison is perfectly matched by the skill and imagination of the kitchen. My meal was a perfect example. My first course at Maison was an elevated version of bruschetta: grilled, house-made bread with a dense, well-carmelized crust slathered with a dense, soft, creamy goat's cheese topped with tomatoes and a poached duck egg. But not just any tomatoes: these were a glorious riot of chunks and halves of freshly picked heirlooms dressed lightly with extra-virgin olive oil and salt. The dish was very simple, but what a smart (and delicious!) combination of textures, flavors, and tastes. Sweet, slightly acid from the tomatoes. Unctuous creaminess from the goat's cheese and the duck egg. Richness from the yolk and olive oil, the crunch of salt or bread. Sometimes blended in a single bite, sometimes one flavor predominating. My main course was pork, which is slow-cooked pork, then pulled off the bone to form a thick cake that, when the top is browned and crisped, somewhat resembles scrapple, a local delicacy. It didn't taste like scrapple, though: its richness was countered, beautifully, I might add, by chunks of beets and plums and crisped spaetzle made with tomato leaves. Again, there was that contrast of flavors and textures and balance of sweet, sour and rich. By the time I was finished with my dinner, I was full -- too full to try one of the desserts. Next time, though, I'll save some room. You probably won't be able to taste either of those dishes on your own visit to Maison. But you should go and see what's on the menu for your night. If you're like me, you'll find that you'd happily eat anything on the menu (and wish you could try every one of the dishes listed!). Know that you can order in confidence that the kitchen knows what it's doing: the food is extremely well thought-out and expertly prepared. And a word about the service: the staff is extremely enthusiastic about the food and knowledgeable about its preparation. You might expect that the warmth you experience would over-shadow the overall service. And you'd be wrong: service is expert and attentive. Finally, be warned: Maison is BYOB. You'll want to bring some good wine with you: the food at Maison deserves a vintage to match.

Amazing food, great service. Very true to their farm-to-table ideals. I had the panzanella with poached duck egg. It was fantastic. The yolk of the egg was nearly orange. My dining partner had the house-made sausage, which was also delicious. A nice fennel note in the sausage, but not overpowering. All things considered, a very great experience. I'd recommend it to anyone heading to Lancaster.

Ate here for first (but not last) time. I had the squid+beans starter and the cavatelli and rabbit ragù main course. Everything was exquisitely good. Great balance of flavors and salt and herbs. Fabulous. The restaurant is BYOB, but I love that. The staff were great with uncorking and serving our wines. This is exactly what I love in a restaurant. Locally sourced, high quality ingredients, prepared flawlessly, and served in a relaxed and unpretentious setting. Thanks! I WILL be back.

I was born and raised in Lancaster, living there nearly 20 years. Unequivocally, this is THE BEST RESTAURANT IN TOWN, which actually says quite a lot because there are plenty of good ones.

    (5)
  • Miriam B.

The truth is the restaurant does not deserve a star. We were treated very poorly by a female staff member did not introduce herself, check on us, or even offer the dessert menu. She did not thank us for our stay or even give us a check we had to flag somebody else down. This is a horribly overcrowded very poorly decorated restaurant. You are sitting elbow to elbow with your dining neighbors. The noise level is so deafening that you can't hear your dinner date. Now onto the worst part of this place. I can forgive the noisy pretentious place if it had good cuisine. I'm normally a fan of the farm to table movement in restaurants. But that goes out the window when a chef is very much unskilled in executing food. A restaurant like this will stay in business in Lancaster Pa because there is a shortage of overpriced fine dining in town. And people unaware of what to expect from a gourmet restaurant will simply try this place at least once. Our first course was a horribly overdressed French country salad. Normally I am a fan of this sort of frisée salad with bacon and blue cheese but it was so soaked in an overly acidic salad dressing that it was barely edible. Which is a shame. We also had the artichoke salad. Artichokes are one of my favorite veggies this time of yr. but this salad was dripping in lemon juice which made it impossible to taste the ingredients in the salad( a common theme throughout our meal). Our entrees consisted of Pesto pasta. I thought that would be a difficult dish to mess up since it contains limited ingredients. Wrong again it was so dripping in pesto. The other entree was a slow cooked piece of veal with a " salad". The salad consisted of bitter mustard greens( uncooked), sugar snap peas, and asparagus. Normally I'm a fan of all three items. But when you leave greens uncooked they have a horribly bitter aftertaste. Which over powers the delicate sugar snap peas and asparagus. Since we were neglected during our meal and never offered the dessert menu we skipped dessert. And went to a diner for dessert.

I have been dying to come here for the longest time. Luckily, I got invited to a private party here, and this place totally delivered! The food and service was impeccable. The service wasn't just service. Leeann is super cute. She served up warm hospitality that made everyone feel so welcome. They paid attention to every detail, paced everything perfectly, and watched over each and every guest. I've eaten in literally hundreds of NYC restaurants, and the food in this cute little place ranks right up there with some of the best in terms of quality. The food was creative, delicious, fresh and flavorful. This is by far one of the best restaurants in Lancaster. This foodie will DEFINITELY be back! Thank you Taylor & Leeann for a wonderful evening!

This place is fantastic. My husband and I have been here several times already and will continue doing so as long as this place exisits. By far, it is the best place around Lancaster to get a fantastic meal worth the money you spend to get it! I am not sure why some have complained about bad service because every single time we have been here it has been wonderful. The owners are super friendly and welcoming and their waitor is well versed on their menu and is very personable as well. We LOVE this place and send as many people over there as possible because of it. We value great food, but great service goes even further and Maison has a fabulous combination of both!

  • Howard P.

We had dinner here last night. We were very disappointed since all four of us had been wanting to try Maison for some time. It certainly did not deliver. The kitchen had run out of several dishes so we had to rethink our choices. That being said the starters were great. I particularly enjoyed the frisée salad with egg. It was perfect. After this everything fell apart. The entrees did not come until two hours after our arrival. I understand leisurely dining but this is ridiculous. Two of my companions shared a two pound steak special which arrived perfectly cooked but overly salted as we're the accompanying potatoes and mushrooms. I had a chicken "lasagne" which sounded good on paper but didn't hold up as an actual dish. It was difficult to eat in the serving dish - I kept knocking parsnips onto the table. When I asked the server if it could be removed and placed on a plate she looked at me as if I had asked her to cut off her hand. After a few disappointing bites I gave up. So did my friends with the steak. My partner did enjoy his sausage and polenta hence the two stars instead of one. Unlike other diners we did not have a problem with the sound level. Maybe it was a bad night. Maybe the chef was more interested in entertaining the party of four women dining near our table than in his kitchen. Maybe the restaurant is a little full of itself. Maybe we believed the hype and expected too much. I don't know.

Enjoyed a fabulous dinner here last night. I thought the dishes were creative and even thought the menu is limited there was enough variety to satisfy different a tastes. We had no problems with the service at all and the food all arrived promptly. It is a noisy environment. In warmer weather the front of the restaurant opens up and there are a few tables there. If you are looking for intimacy it might pay to request those tables? I agree about being puzzled by a corkage fee. It is not a lot of money, but generally is there to help a restaurant recoup lost money from not selling their own wine. Since its byob this fee is a little odd. Other than that I would definitely recommend and will return.

Our first Maison experience - very nice. Downtown Lancaster with open balcony to the street - a bit of truck street noise, but all in all great to have the open air. Cozy venue, service was excellent. The dinners were delicious - well presented and unique. The pork offering was exquisite. Maison has a Manhattan feel, especially unique in Lancaster!

WOW What a Lancaster Disaster! I've read all the reviews about this establishment, the husband and wife owners must have written them all.An intimate,farm-driven,urban cookery, that translates to cramped dining room. The place seats approx. 30 people-elbow to elbow. When you try to sit down, good luck! I tried to slide the table a bit while attempting to sit and was rudely told by the server the tables have a specific spot to stay in. Soo Sorry! Then the server began a spiel about farm fresh and local ingredients several times. We got it the first time. I don't even know her name because she didn't introduce herself. No customer service and rude. Our first course was frisee' salad drenched in dressing, inedible . We did bring a bottle of wine and was charged a corking fee? for a byob! Are you kidding? This place nickel and dimes you for everything, Our entrees took over 50 minutes, maybe the loud music distracted the chef. We ordered Prawns and risotto-main ingredient was salt. Does this chef taste anything before he salts it?Second entree pan roasted cobia was not bad. The portions were small and everything was overpriced. I can't tell you how long my water glass sat empty-something you will need with all the salt in the meal. I can't understand how you can't see empty glasses with only 30 people in the room. Maybe they were distracted by the loud music too. Honestyl, it just wasn't relaxing or enjoyable. I guess the owners need to teach better customer service to staff.

This place is simply wonderful. My husband and I have been here multiple times and the service is always top notch. The owners are super friendly and attentive and the waiter is always extremely helpful and enthusiastic about their menu choices. I'm not sure why that one person gave a negative review because I have never once had a bad experience here! Perhaps they were having an off day (I know the owner who often waits on the tables is pregnant) give them a break! But, honestly, we LOVE it here and if you are a foodie it is a must try! They update the menu quite frequently, so you get to try something fresh and new almost every time you go, which is great. And how can you not like a BYOB?! Give it a try... I promise you won't be disappointed!

Finally made it to Maison after hearing good things about it from lots of people. The decor is perfectly fitting for this type of place. The menu simple but elegant. Reminiscent of some of the great cozy BYOBs around Rittenhouse in Philly. There's only about 12 tables inside, so make sure to get reservations, especially on a saturday night. We had the young chicken and the bistro steak, smoked over hay, which gave it an amazing flavor. The only thing that prevented me from giving 5 stars was probably the time it took to get our food...but once we got it, we knew it was worth the wait. Go check out Maison, bring an extra bottle of wine, and some good company. We'll definitely be back soon, especially since we learned that they change their menu quite often.

Easily the best fine dining experience in Lancaster. Small, BYOB, maybe a little quirky but delightful. There is a lot of love and care in every dish placed in front of you. Going back again and again. I walked back to the exposed kitchen area after our last dining experience there and asked for their attention and applauded :)

Overall I enjoyed my meal. I had the bone marrow custard app which was the next best thing to bacon. I thought both my appetizer and my entree were both lacking salt but that can be a personal preference so I don't knock them much for that, hey the food was still very tasty!! I wish I would have had more vegetables in my entree, there was plenty of pork but the root vegetables seemed to be loss. It seemed like there were only a few diced up pieces of the vegetables and I wanted more to go along with the flavorful sauce, pork, and flaky crust. The service staff were excellent and very knowledgeable of the product being offered. Would have loved for a cheese course overing too. I will definitely go back again.

Five star food, four star service, one star noise level. I can't go back because of the noise -- I like to enjoy a fine meal with friends, and that includes conversation. Conversation is not possible there. Too bad because this could have become a favorite.

Taking a page out of Alice Waters' Chez Panisse, Maison's fare is simply prepared with mostly local and organic food, and the result is simply fantastic! It's quaint and cozy with a charming farmhouse decor. Of note, the French Country salad, Orecchiette Bolognese, and Roast Heritage Pork. Desserts don't quite stand up to the caliber of the savory items. And be prepared with the loud din if it's a full house. For full review, google traveling food critic.

Exquisite food prepared by an artist. Taylor throws himself into everything he creates and it's fabulous. Everything we've had has been outstanding. It's small, but if the place were any bigger it wouldn't be so personal. Worth the crowding and wait.

Wow! I just logged on to write a review of this place, because I was so stunned to find a restaurant like this in Lancaster. My experience was exceptional and then I read the grumpy review from a guy that was also there Saturday night....I guess some people can't be pleased. Anyway - these people have a world-class spot and know what they are doing. The bibb lettuce salad with the meyer lemon and truffle oil dressing was out of this world. Then I had the prawns which were sweeter than any I have ever had. The polenta was perfectly creamy and the ramps and salsa verde were a perfect combination. It was like New York food....I am drooling just thinking about it. Maison is worth making the trip to Lancaster.

Nice new addition to Lancaster's restaurants. Food's great, but not fabulous. We had a salad that said it contained blue cheese; I found a tiny grain of delicious blue cheese. We had Dorade, a fish. While it was perfectly cooked, my portion was very thin, and had more dark meat than I expect in Dorade. My wife's portion was thicker and all white meat. Service was attentive, and knowledgeable. Prepare yourself for beyond loud noise levels! We found we had to repeat ourselves across the table because of the very high decibel level.

We LOVED this place. Very delicious and creative food with unusual ingredients (like lamb tongue for example) cooked perfectly. Nice attentive service, cute ambiance (though people complaining about noise are absolutely right - it's hard to have a conversation). I hope they will do something about the acoustic of the place. But other then that it was a great experience and we recommend this restaurant particularly to Foodies (BTW it's BYOB which is a plus).

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
