I have to agree with george a. about the light airy feel to this restaurant. It's the kind of place where you can eat and not be burdened with a "heavy" feel that often accompanies restaurants with too much stuff hanging on the walls, or poor lighting, or heavy smoke clouds. I am a fan of sandwiches, and Isaac's does sandwiches right. Every menu item is a conglomeration of very complementary ingredients. I would have to say that they really put a lot of care into what makes up each sandwich. Plus, being a pickle lover, the little pickled appetizer dish they bring to the table when you first sit down is a welcome and refreshing change. Try the pretzel sandwiches here!

This location really is my favorite.. ---------- FOOD: I really enjoy going to Isaac's and getting a bird of paradise. Being a vegetarian I can find a number of sandwiches on the menu that suit me and all are quite tasty. They even have some sort of pizza type thing, pretzel sandwiches and several drink choices. DECOR: This location has a light airy feel to it. It has lots of windows, high ceilings and lots of tables and space. SERVICE: Good. Even when its busy, the friendly wait staff doesnt forget about you. ---------- FINAL THOUGHTS: While I've heard complaints from others about the food, I have never had a problem and look forward to eating there. Parking can sometimes be an issue as Isaacs is located in a busy strip mall. On fridays the line to be seated can be out the door. So be prepared.

I really enjoyed the food that they have to offer but I have to start and say the selection isn't very big and the one waitress I did have was very attentive as well as kind but there was a second waitress that ended up helping us that was kinda rude disrespectful and immature and should not be working the floor.so overall I would recommend this place anybody that's looking for a quick lunch that wants something other than McDonalds or Burger King..

Good pretzel bun sandwich (the mallard). The chips are great and the servers were nice. The decor is not what I expected. "Thanksgiving on a Bun" sounds like fun... maybe next time. I also liked the complimentary pickles!

We ALWAYS go to Isaac's as it is one of the few places that has GF food for kids. it is nice to go out and not have to explain and argue but have staff that are trained and helpful. Thanks Isaac's!

One of my favorite places to eat! I love everything from the pickles to the sandwiches. The pepper jack tomato soup is great too!

Hey what can I say? They served up a pretty scrumptious pretzel sandwich. This little sandwich joint caught my eye while staying at the hotel next door. I got my order to go and when I got back to the room, what do I find? Bam!!!....a little pickle baggied up. Basically icing on the cake for this guy...I also scored $3 off my next order from a scratch off they put in my to go bag, so looks like I'll head back before the week is over.

The whole family loves Isaac's and makes a point to include lunch at one of the locations when we visit Lancaster. This location is very convenient to Franklin and Marshall. It is smaller than other spots and the wait staff not as polished as other locations. But the sandwiches are great, a perfect light lunch with the complimentary bowl of pickles, tasty gourmet chips and unlimited refills on drinks. We will definitely be back.

I've been to many Isaac's locations and have never been disappointed. The food is always great and the staff is always exceptionally friendly and attentive. I love the tortellini salad, and the pickle dish as an appetizer is always welcome. Keep it up Isaac's. You do it right!

i have a monthly meeting at this isaac's location so i have tried something from every category of their menu. they have soups/salads/sandwiches on pretzel rolls, french bread, regular sizes, deli salads, and desserts. i have never had something i hated here, or even disliked. food is always OK but never something to write home about. basically this place is like panera but the prices are a bit higher. i actually prefer panera. i guess that the extra cost is the price of having a server actually wait on you. all the servers i've ever had there have been courteous and pleasant.

Nice airy neon atmosphere. Food was outta this world. Couldn't give the fifth star however because the fruit mix was a little on the icky side, mostly honeydew and cantaloupe. To be fair, they're not in season, but still.. The cheesy crab soup coulda been made by The Soup Nazi. It makes your knees weak. Some of the best soup I've ever tasted. It was loaded with crab meat and had a perfect consistency. Definitely the highlight of the meal for me. The pickled mix they set out for you is a wonderful alternative to breadsticks or other more filling appetizers. The Black Heron sandwich was absolutely delicious. Angus beef shaved on a toasted French bread roll. You can really taste the angus difference. I asked for their house sauce instead of mayo. Good choice. Kinda horseradishish, but not too overpowering. Excellent sandwich with lettuce and tomato. Made me drool. Broccoli salad was top notch. Interesting addition of peanuts and white raisins. I kept thinking I'd like some bacon mixed in there, but I'm a bacon guy. Wife had a small classic pizza. Excellent as well. Delicate thin crust but with all the great flavor of a pizza from a New York pizzeria. Service was excellent; friendly and helpful. Price was not bad at all. Three of us and our bill was $40. We had two sandwiches, soup, broccoli salad, and the little pizza, even a dessert; a big honkin brownie sundae. Yummy. We were full and content when we left. Definitely recommend this place. Terrific menu. Something for everyone, even veggies. Lots of alternatives.
