I just tried Hot Z recently after working in the area for over a year and did not know it was close by. I got their cheese steak with sauce and onions along with extra meat and I think it's one of the best I have tried in Lancaster. My work friend got a gyro and said it was real good. Service was quick and friendly. I will return.

Can't really say much. Stopped in here because my friend was hungry. The pizza was pretty good, but I didn't eat a full slice. I'd like to try it again sometime. -TBD-

Not for me. I moved to Lancaster, and this was the first pizza place we stumbled upon. The first weird thing was that we got an ad from them on our doorstep for the Landisville location saying WE DELIVER TO YOU. When we called, they didn't. And gave us the phone number for this location. Now, the menus for the two places aren't the same. Which changes our order a bit, but we still ended up with pizza and fries. The fries were literally frozen crinkle cut fries, which she said 'I think they are frozen' when we ordered the fresh cut fries (how they are listed on Landisvilles menu). I didn't eat those. I only got through one slice of pizza before dismissing it. The sauce is barely there and bad at that, the cheese is SUPER cheap mozzarella, the pizza wasn't cooked all the way and was far too floppy, and I didn't like the crust. Literally the culmination of everything awful in one pizza. I can't name one redeeming quality.

I'm relatively new to Lancaster and have been looking for pizza that reminds me of home, in Northeast PA, where the pizza is more New York-style. My husband and I tried Hot-Z one day while in the same shopping plaza. The pizza was phenomenal. The cheese this place uses is so yummy; you can totally tell it's high-quality, fresh mozzarella. And the dough and crust was perfect -- thin and crispy on the bottom, but the crust itself was doughy. This is especially a positive sign because he and I both at the crust; normally we eat up to the crust and discard it along with our paper plates. The sauce was, I don't know how to describe it. If I said watery, it would sound negative, but people who fancy NYC-style pizza will know what I mean. It's so full of flavor! The pepperoni was delish, and again, high quality. I love the amount of grease that the cheese and pepperoni give! Also, the service was fantastic. The woman at the counter was so super friendly. She suggested to us to get the large pizza meal because it came with a 2-liter bottle of soda, which would be cheaper than the pizza and two large sodas we ordered would have been. We ate the entire pizza, and had about half a two-liter cherry Pepsi to take home. A few weeks after this visit, we had called ahead to try a calzone. They don't sell them (which I'd take a star off for, but I am adding it back on for what happened next), but we were really craving ricotta cheese. Hot-Z apparently normally has ricotta for other items, bu they happened to be out that day. The woman who took the order said she'd have someone go get some ricotta cheese and they custom-made us a stromboli with ricotta cheese! It was good and satisfied us; not as gooey as a calzone would have been, but that they went above and beyond to indulge us in our craving was so kind.

Hot-Z has decent pizza, especially for Lancaster. But the cheesesteaks are where it's at! They get Amoroso rolls brought in fresh every morning from Philly. I got my cheesesteak with onions, no sauce, and cheese sauce. It was delicious and they did not skimp on the cheese! They normally don't put cheese sauce on, but if you ask for it they will.

For Lancaster, their pizza is just above average (which is kinda bad, seeing as if this place was in NYC, they would be out of business). Since we're 3 hrs from NYC... I choose their pizza over most other local ones. As far as cheesesteaks... very good and they get fresh Amarosa rolls shipped in daily from Philly.

Not bad pizza. They have a lunch special of 2 slices and a drink for a decent price. Parking could be an issue, especially on weekends because it shares a lot with walmart. Even during the week ive had to park pretty far out.
