This was a great little find while strolling through downtown Lancaster. I loved the vibe inside. You order at the counter, then sit down and they bring you your food. Good service. I am a vegetarian, and while it is not a vegetarian cafe, it had a lot of nice selections for a non-meat eater. I had a grilled sandwich with pineapple and cheese, which was very good. My friend had a roasted vegetable sandwich, which she said was very good. I also had a yummy bowl of tomato soup. Both sandwiches came with chips. For a downtown location such as this, I found the prices to be very reasonable. I am glad I found this charming cafe.

This has been one of my favorite weekly lunch stops. Food is reasonably priced and tasty. Try it out.

Stopped in around 10:20 for three hot chocolates, a regular latte and black coffee -- 20 mins later....ugh. Only first time here and place looks cozy and nouveau with variety of offerings including soups. Not sure why our simple order was mishandled so was rather disappointed. I'm sure revisit will be different. Just wasn't a positive first visit.

Amazing little find in downtown Lancaster. Loved the pear and walnut salad with chicken. Tasted like it came out if my own kitchen. And the coconut macaroons, yum!

Fantastic spot for breakfast if you're visiting the nearby Lancaster Central Market, or just downtown. Visited twice, and both have been delightful. The food is prepared expertly, and the flavors are all balanced and delicious. While the coffee is a step below the nearby Prince Street Cafe, the food here is top notch. On my first visit, I had one of the fabulous breakfast burritos. For my second visit, I created my own breakfast sandwich with an everything bagel, egg, sausage, roasted red peppers, hummus, and goat cheese. Wow. Order at the counter, where you're helped by friendly, patient staff. Food is prepared swiftly, and brought to your table. Don't miss this one. It's a fabulous spot to start your weekend day in Lancaster. Fuel up, then hit the market around the corner.

A co-worker just took me here for breakfast. I had the Lancaster Breakfast Burrito it was delicious and more than I could eat. I was disappointed in myself for leaving anything unfinished. It was that good. Now having a cup of coffee. De-lish.

The atmosphere here is a perfect mix of quirky and classic café. With a full menu of caffinated delights, breakfast entrées and lunch sandwiches, there's always something new to try. Staff members are always friendly and quick to respond to questions or concerns. I actually prefer this café to the famous one over on Prince St, simply because it is more laid back and usually less crowded. A fun place to hang out on a chilly autumn day, or any day for that matter!

Absolutely loved the decor.. a nice spot to relax/study. Very friendly staff and amazing service. Loved the caramel dream latte.. I stopped by on a Saturday evening and it was packed. Will definitely come back.

Good coffee, affordable prices. Had a Lancaster Breakfast Burrito which was great tasting, large portions and well priced. Would defiantly come back again.

Affordable, but below average. I ordered a large dirty chai. This is my standard-go to drink. I have ordered countless at the various cafes I have been to. My dirty chai lacked flavor and tasted watery, despite having a milk base. I think the cafe should adjust the chai base flavor in this latte. It was disappointing. Overall the cafe was cute and inviting. If I was a local, this would be a prime space to enjoy working or reading. Not the greatest, but will satisfy a caffeine fix.

My daughter and I needed a quick bite to eat and stumbled upon Cafe One Eight. We both enjoyed our meals! She had a grilled cheese with bacon and I have tomato soup and a salad. Delicious!!!

This is a cute little cafe in downtown. It's airy and pleasant inside, with a menu of wraps, salads, sandwiches and the like. Counter service (they then bring the food out to you) is friendly. I ordered a wrap--feel like it was something like the "Rome," but can't remember exactly--that had marinated chicken (moist and tender), goat cheese, craisins (raisins, meet the cranberries) and walnuts. It was quite tasty, with perhaps the only thing missing for my taste being a bit more of a dressing to tie things together. But it was definitely a tasty and reasonably priced lunch spot to which I'd return. There's free wifi as well, though I didn't come here to work and consequently didn't try it out.

After 25 minutes I'm still waiting for a sandwich. Just one sandwich!!!!! And there are only four other customers in the place. This is awful. Will never come here again.

Met a business colleague here this morning. Coffee was delicious, bagels were fresh, atmosphere was charming. A little on the chilly side, but hey it's negative degrees nowadays! Meeting next week might just have to go back!

Casual and comfortable atmosphere. The decor and layout is inviting. The bacon avocado panini was fresh, clean and delicious. If I ended the review here, it would be 4 stars. The service was only average. Maybe slightly less than average. The cashier did not want to be here. In fact I heard her tell that to a customer. She was done with School and tired from the shift. The sandwich came in a reasonable time It was heard not to give them a 4 star rating. The service drug it down. Hopefully you will have a different experience because this is a cafe worth visiting.

While on a mini vacation in PA we stumbled upon this place. I can't even do it justice in this review. Everything was perfect! The food really hit the spot, the ladies that work there are so nice, the price is right, and the atmosphere is just what you would expect of a trendy cafe. If I didn't live in Texas I would totally be a lunch regular :)

We had a great lunch here this past Monday the 28th, around 2pm. It was a quiet afternoon in the cafe, and the cafe itself is decorated nicely and is very very clean with spotless bathrooms to boot. You order at the counter and they deliver food to you at your table. They had a nice selection of salads and sandwiches and a couple special soups and a white chicken chili. My Dad had a chicken Cesar salad, I had the gluten free quesadilla, my mom had one of the soups and a different salad. Everything was great, tasted wonderful, served with local bakery bread (Ric's) and they also make their own muffins daily. A great place for coffee too, and perfect for a very filling yet light lunch. I will definitely be going back.

Lancaster Burrito was awesome and the coffee was great. Just a short walk from the Lancaster Marriott.

I love this cafe! It's smaller and quieter than Prince St Cafe, but its really cute and comfy. I loved the food, and will definitely be back. Try the Calcutta wrap- chicken curry salad with mango chutney and more. It was so delicious.

Cafe One Eight is awesome! The cafe is so cosy. The Prince Street Cafe around the corner is so loud and crowded where as Cafe18 has a warm and friendly vibe. The staff is extremely sweet and helpful. Their food is delicious! I always get the Veggie Quesadilla which has a nice farm fresh local flavor. Their ice tea (I'm an unsweetened fan) is satisfying. I would like to see flavored unsweetened ice teas. This cafe will continue to be my downtown favorite!

Stopped in for lunch today when I was passing through Lancaster. I had the Chicken Waldorf Wrap and it was delicious. The combo of chicken, feta, apples, walnuts, and cranberries was great- and the dressing was perfect for it. Also tried one of the mini peanut butter whoopies- which was also very yummy. It was pretty busy but our food came pretty quickly. Quite frankly- I loved my wrap and the atmosphere here and I'd probably go back if it was near my house- but It gets a 4 because there was a long hair in my wrap- ew.

the 4.5 stars this place has is totally worth it. If i could give half stars, that's what i would rate it. The only reason why i couldn't give it a 5 is because i wasn't crazy about the coffee. My personal taste is a dark, bold, full flavor roast. I had their Kenya blend and found it lighter and more acidic than i would have liked. Service was a 5 (very pleasant people, nice atmosphere), food was a 5 (i had a breakfast burrito - VERY yum and fresh), coffee was a 3.5. Still worth going. I think next time i'll try a cappuccino and see if it's a better coffee experience.

I loved their sandwiches and they made a great London fog!! The staff is so nice, they brought my lunch right out to me even though I got take out. I will definitely be back for another Plymouth sandwich with bacon!!

My cousins and I were in Lancaster after a visit to the Park City mall and wanted to sit and relax with some light fresh food and a cappuccino. This was the only nice cafe that seemed to be open a little later than the rest. We were happy with the decision and enjoyed our food and drinks. The fresh brewed iced teas were made well, which can be hard. The cappuccino was decent, better than chain, but not the best I have ever had, by no means. All around, this is a very nice place and I would come again. Next time I shall be trying the nutella and fresh fruit dessert!

Love this place! Reasonable prices for really great, fresh food with more variety than I would expect from such a tiny little cafe. I really love the atmosphere here, too. Servers are friendly and relaxed. I went here all the time one summer to do work or just chill on their wifi while drinking BOTTOMLESS ICED COFFEE (incidentally, they also have air conditioning--which my apartment at the time lacked).

I love this place for lunch. I am especially fond f the Gotham sandwich. It's good all year round even though it's served hot. Service is very good, and the atmosphere is good. Also right next door to the Citadel Credit Union which gives away free samples on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and especially Saturdays ; )

Our favorite cafe/coffee shop in York and Lancaster! Great food, good coffee, super friendly and help staff. My favorite is the chicken salad sandwich on some amazingly good locally made wheat bread. My wife likes all the salads.

Great atmosphere in downtown Lancaster with excellent service and delicious coffee/food. The Lancaster Breakfast Burrito is fantastic as is their homemade granola. If I'm looking for coffee in Lancaster, this is where I go!

Nice cafe. Good breakfast and coffee at reasonable price. Good vibe for Saturday morning breakfast with my college kid. Definitely will come back when in the area.

Awesome breakfast burrito. Try the Lancaster burrito! Next time napkins in the bag for a take-out order would be good. Super fresh/strong coffee from Square One. The atmosphere is warm and communal, especially on a rainy day like today. The only other thing: the girl at the front didn't seem very enthusiastic to be working in such a cool environment. Smile! Your one of the first faces some people will see in their day :)

i used to go every Monday, but the staff is always changing so... sometimes the chicken quesadillas was good, sometimes not! the same with coffee,, the blended coffee was great when the guy made it but how I just said. they're always changing staff. I threw up the chicken quesadillas the last two times .. :/ made me feel so sick.

I had a great breakfast last time I was there, so I decided to try lunch. I ordered a chicken salad melt. It was the strangest chicken salad I ever saw. It was warm and very heavy and resembled bread stuffing. The sandwich was greasy and heavy. I couldn't finish it. The coffee was delicious! I will have to stick to vegetable items on the menu.

Delicious chicken salad melt. They are genius to come up with that. Also. The Vegan wrap was full of flavor. Must try!

We ate lunch here the other day and were pleasantly surprised with this little eatery. I had the Gotham, grilled chicken, pesto and provolone on chibata, and my wife had the soup and salad combo, white bean and chicken chili and a pear and Gorgonzola salad. The food was great and the portions were perfect. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely be going back again, but we'll try breakfast next time.

Service was okay, they asked my order several times, and our chai was not hot and had to ask to have it heated up. Food was awesome though! We had pesto sandwich-amazing! And big b'fast-totally tasty! So the food makes up for it, bur Id like to see a bit more efficiency and hot drinks! Then Id def give at least 4 stars.

Well lit, open atmosphere. I had a chance to try their Santa Fe breakfast burrito, chicken quesadilla, coffee, mango strawberry smoothie, Greene smoothie and chai latte as I sat and got some work done off their free wifi for a few hours. Yes I eat and drink a lot (non-alcoholic) but I work out to make up for it. The service was very attentive for a cafe where they actually brought food out to your table. The space was well designed to carry a very open feel to a small cafe and I would recommend this cafe.

I have come down to Lancaster City many times to try out coffee shops and was going to go to Prince Street Cafe but it was too crowded so I went to this one. It was a little louder than I thought it would be but employees were friendly. The coffee was great, while a little expensive for specialty drinks, but that's normal. I would recommend this place to friends.

I love everything about this place. The atmosphere, the service, and the food. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, plenty of seating, and decorated very nicely. The service is fast and friendly. The employees make you feel like they are truly grateful for your service. The food....yum! Better than I expected from a coffee house. I've had a few of their breakfast burritos....YUMMY!! Very large, very, very tasty and fresh. My fav is the one with feta, red pepper, and spinach. I think they get most of their produce from Central Market. I usually get an iced coffee, very good and free refills which is always nice. I've also had a vanilla latte which was the best one I have ever had.

This is a really nice, small cafe that has a warm, cozy atmosphere, just like a cafe should. I have dined here numerous times now and everything I have had was great. My favorite so far has been the strawberry salad, but I have many more items to try.

Monday morning breakfast included fresh ingredients prepared by skilled culinary technicians= gourmet experience. If I roll through the gritty streets of Lancaster again, I will definitely be back. Wifey and I thoroughly enjoyed their pesto sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. My 2 yr old daughter proclaimed "yummy, yummy, yummy" after each bite of her oatmeal. I agreed after trying it. My son swallowed his bacon, egg, and cheese on croissant whole. Loved it! They were 4 for 4.

Okay so first off I didn't have any coffee. I stopped in here for lunch with my daugter. I got a Sante Fa chicken salad with salsa ranch dressing. It was good for what it was. My daughter got a grilled chesse and it was good too. We both got iced teas which were good too. Paid about $17.00 for our meal but that is normal pricing around here. It's a nice quiet small cafe that's great for a quick lunch. Looks like it is run or at least staffs Mennonite's which is awesome since they are so nice!

I'm somewhat new to the area and have lived in much more urban areas most of my life. That being said, I have pretty high standards for what I expect in a cafe. This area has been disappointing, until I tried One Eight. One Eight has a great, bright open floor plan. The decor is trendy, yet makes you feel right at home. If that doesn't do it for you, the extremely friendly and welcoming staff will. Their wi-fi is fast for those of us that like to do our work from the quiet comfort of a cafe. The coffee isn't the best, but their iced tea was fresh brewed and delicious. I'd also say their prices are a little high, but the quality of food was way better then the quality of the equally pricey cafes in the area. It's a definite must for those settling for the less than par alternatives in the area.

Great breakfasts and coffee. The granola is above par too. The interior is perfect offering a variety of seating for groups or individuals.

The coffee, smoothies, and hot chocolate are delicious. Espresso machine. Fresh salads and delicious wraps. Free wifi. A great, comfy place to grab a bite with a friend or to just sit with a book or the paper. And the nicest business owners you'll ever meet. If I lived in Lancaster, this would be my hangout.
