Wow. Not what we expected to find on a visit to Johnstown. We came in for a late dinner. The atmosphere was dim and relaxed. The live singer worked perfectly in that you could enjoy listening to him but he didn't make table conversation impossible. Perfect. Very friendly staff, we were even treated to table visit from the head of the kitchen. One son had a burger with perfect house made potato chips. The other ordered chicken and waffles. When they brought it to the table we saw it was really *!*!CHICKEN AND WAFFLES!*!*. It is mile high crispy fried chicken and thick homemade waffles. Cooked perfectly. All of the flavors worked well together. My husband had a daily special, Korean Tacos. He loves Korean food and was in heaven. Again, perfectly cooked and the flavors were amazing. I had the shrimp tacos and would say the same about them. Great flavor and I was full (they are listed as an appetizer) without feeling overly stuffed. Would definitely go again if revisiting the area. Would recommend to others visiting the area.

We stopped in for dinner. I had the peaches and chicken salad and my husband had the fish and chips. My salad was really good. The peaches were warm from the grill. The chicken portion was about 3 oz which was fine for me but some may consider small. The waitress said at lunch this comes as a wrap and we should try it. My husband's fish and chips were average. Probably better to order something else. Our Yelp review got us a free cupcake. Hard to argue with that. Will be coming back next time we are in town.

We just happened upon the totally adorable, dare I say hipster, bistro in downtown Johnstown while in town for a wedding. I loved everything about this place. Very cozy with great service. Our waitress came right over with menus and told us that her lattes were "the best in town." That said, I had to have one! It was well made, it rivaled coffee shops in my town. Hubby had eggs Benedict and I had the huevos rancheros. Both were FANTASTIC. I mean, legitimately delicous. You must visit this place! It's awesome. As an added bonus, I checked in on Yelp and received a free cupcake that was also super tasty! :)

First time here. We're so happy we tried it out. Our new go-to for dinner in Johnstown. Try the ramen bowl Thai style! We will definitely be back!

Best place I've ever tried in Johnstown. CHICKEN AND WAFFLES?! Their tacos are bomb too... Oh oh and Asian calamari Did I mention their customer service was phenomenal as well? Two thumbs up.

Stopped by on a road trip for lunch. The salads are very good! Big portions too, with everything fresh. The beer selection is a bit limited, but good. We were told the selections vary based on local breweries- which is pretty cool. No on tap yet, but is slated for the future. They bar hard liquor, and my captain and come was heavy. I recommend it, and would go back if given the opportunity. We went back later this week while picking up our car. Had the farmers panini with turkey added. Literally the best dan which I've ever had! Get it! You won't be disappointed! The staff were all very friendly and checked in on us without stalking us. Had a great time!

This bistro is a jewel in Johnstown. My second time here I had the buffalo chicken pressed wrap. It was yummy and herbaceous and the kettle chips seemed homemade. I also had the shrimp blt my first trip and that was good too. Would definitely eat here often if I lived here.

We live in Johnstown and can honestly say this was one of the better experiences that we have had. I had the Bistro Chicken Nachos as my meal, and my husband had the Bang Bang Burger. The nachos had real melted cheese, a nice mix of toppings, and good guac and sour cream. My husband's burger was unique and good and cooked to the correct temp request. We always like to go to places that carry craft beers. They had a nice selection. It's just that they are bottled beers for $5. Overall food was decent and experience/atmosphere was ok.

I work down the block from PRESS. My co-workers and I regularly make coffee pilgrimages there for their rocking brew. I am ADDICTED to the way they make their bagels, Split and toasted on the flat top grill. I've never had them that way before but wonder how I've lived so long not eating them this way. Chewy, soft, and warm with a little crunch! Their sandwiches are amazing and I walk down at least once a week for pasta salad to go with my lunch. They make different flavors all the time! So good, really nice and helpful staff!

Stopped in for lunch while we were in town for business, and the food was so good we came back the next night to try out their dinner menu. Their turkey sandwich on the pretzel roll was awesome and their potato soup was outstanding. I also like the fact that I asked for an iced coffee and he suggested an iced Americano (he knew what I was looking for). They also served their sandwich with a side of fresh kettle cooked chips (very tasty). For dinner I am trying the California Burrito with their bacon slaw on the side. I have no doubt it is going to be purely awesome. The other really nice thing about this place is that the staff and the atmosphere is to notch. Everyone we talked with was super friendly and engaging. We walked out to the meter just to feed it so we could stay longer when we were in for lunch. We called PRESS a diamond in the rough!

After going to Flood City Café for a great cup of coffee, and finding them closed I decided to hit up the other place downtown I saw advertising Espresso. I can only comment on the coffee at PRESS but hey when Espresso is the first thing on your sign it had better be decent. For starts I asked what type of coffee they had, and after seeing a basket of what looked like pre-packaged hotel coffee I decided to go with a vanilla latte instead. After paying almost 4 bucks for a tiny 12 ounce Vanilla Latte I went outside took a sip, and almost went into sugar shock! My goodness how much syrup do you have to put in this?? Sadly after this experience of a liquefied candy bar I will not be returning to PRESS for any coffee beverages. If you advertise Espresso you had better make sure you know how to make your drinks. Sad Sad Coffee.

Fantastic!! A beautiful addition to downtown Johnstown!! The wine and beer selection is excellent, the food is quality and unique and the service is outstanding. I have food allergies and they were very accommodating and knowledgable. Great find!!!

Great place!!! Especially for Johnstown. Great menu. Environment is very cool. My only thought is that it would have been Stellar if they served Quiche. Just a personal preference. The staff was great and I definitely am excited for my return visit. Better than most coffee shops in Pittsburgh.

I'm a longtime resident here and have tried just about every restaurant in the area going back at least 40 years. Press is a relative newcomer and I know a lot of people eat there regularly. I tried it a few weeks ago. The location was very clean, cloth tablecloths, silverware, nice plates and glassware. Service was prompt and the server took extra time to ask the kitchen if my order could be accommodated and the cook was able to come up with something I could eat. My only problem is that nothing on their menu is vegan-friendly. All the menu items are based on meat, cheese, eggs and milk which I cannot eat. I ended up, as I do in most vegan unfriendly places, to eating the lonely plain salad on the menu, paying my bill, and leaving never to return. They seriously need to rethink their menu. Add a good vegan friendly salad with chickpeas or other legumes. There are many good soy based meat replacements available. Offer a bean dip, eggplant dip, mixed vegetable plate, vegetable and fruit plate, smoothies anything that doesn't include corpses of dead animals. They never heard of almond milk, coconut milk or soy milk, just bovine, so even their coffee was out of the question. In all, a nice place if you are a carnivore with a death wish, but not if you prefer healthy food.

Called up to order food to go for me and my co-workers on a Tuesday afternoon. Heard a good thing or two about this place so we decided to try them. Their lunch specials are pretty good deal. I tried their J-town panini and artichoke leek soup. The soup is creamy, warm and filling me up right away. I would add a touch of pepper just because I love it a bit spicy. The panini is good but if its for my hubby I might add more meat. Didn't try the cupcakes/pasta salad which all of them look wonderful on display. Four words: we will be back!

I've had pastries from here before but today was the first time I got actual food. I got the chicken caesar panini and it was amazing. The homemade chips were also really good. Also the cupcakes are crazy good. All for a very reasonable and relatively inexpensive price.

Food quality is great, but prices and portions leave a bit to be desired. $10 for a couple burger sliders and upwards of $4 for a 16oz beer.....delicious, but for $15 I ought to be full/satisfied. Johnstown generally isn't doing well enough economically to support places like this.

Visiting Johnstown and happened upon Press Bistro. The dinner menu was more than adequate, with a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, salads and entrees in addition to a variety of drinks. The mussels were outstanding! The broth was tomato based with a touch of heat. Had to ask for bread to "sop up" all that delicious broth! The "small plate" shrimp tacos were served on a large plate with 3 very ample tacos! Four medium-sized shrimp on each taco were complemented with cabbage and tasty pico de gallo salsa made with western PA grown tomatoes. Delicious!!! We liked the salmon club that was presented on a plate with spring mix and a pleasant sauce served on the side, as requested, and French fries. Cheesecake was smooth and creamy with caramel drizzled on the plate. YUMMY!!! If service would have been quicker, the rating would have been higher. We recommend you try this bistro, but not if you are already "evil" hungry.
