When I just want a good hearty meal to fill my belly, Joey Tate's is where I go. The atmosphere is like a homey diner and as soon as you walk in the door the lovely staff greet you warmly and tell you to sit anywhere you'd like. My go to meal is a breakfast sandwich which is always huge and piled high or for lunch I get a special or chicken salad sandwich. Not to mention their prices are very reasonable!!

Went there this morning for the first time and it was great. Coffee was excellent and the breakfast me and my wife ordered where good and service was fast. We will be back again.

Nothing special. Wouldn't go back. Very slow service, food was acceptable, prices were pretty low.

Joey Tate's hidden off Rt 611 small diner with great food. Try anything on the menu and you will be satisfied. From the smothered chicken to the buffalo chicken wrap everything seems homemade all served in a family atmosphere.

With the family this weekend and went to our usual breakfast spot which was too crowded with a line out the door. Driving around and was lucky to find JOEY TATE'S. This is a good brunch/breakfast spot. The food was perfectly cooked to order. The waitstaff was pleasant, attentive and happy to help. My wife had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a toasted bagel with a side of home fries. I had the stack of blueberry pancakes and my son had chocolate chip pancakes with a side of crisp bacon. Coffee was only .49 cents with a meal. Everything was delicious. The restaurant was spotless and we will be back. The menu was large and included lunch and dinner as well as a children's menu. Joey Tate's is in the old Sam's Grill location off of 611 near Township Line Road. Only can say, that I wish I had found this place sooner.

This is my favorite breakfast spot in my neighborhood. The food is always fresh and served hot. The service is excellent and the food is served with a smile. If that weren't enough, the prices are great.

Friendly. Tasty. The portabello sandwich with sauteed spinach is delicious. It's sort of hidden away, but a nice neighborhood byo with breakfast all day. They sort of go the extra step-- offering to brew a new pot of decaf if I want to wait because the old one's been there a while or letting me know I can ask for a dark roast coffee if I prefer. A very rich, impressive signature bread pudding, if you care to indulge.

Went in hoping to get a quick burger. Joey Tate's far surpassed my expectations. I ended up getting a burger for 7.99. This came with fries, a pickle, and 4 toppings. I ordered a pizza burger and had 2 toppings left, so I got 2 onion rings on the side. What a value! I will definitely be going back to try more of their menu. According to the very friendly waitress, the entire menu is available all day. If you're looking for breakfast foods, this is your place! Try Joey Tate's...you won't be disappointed!

I really wanted to like this place due to the lack of quality diners in the neighborhood. Though the menu is extensive and reasonable our service and food was another story. My pancakes were burnt and I'm pretty sure or waitress was indulging on alcoholic beverages prior to her shift. And to make matters worst they informed us that their credit card machine was broken after giving us our check. This would have been an important thing to tell us when we came in as there is no ATM in the restaurant and they made us walk to one next store which ended up costing us $6 is surcharges! No accommodations were made for their own error, you could simply call my credit card in or take a check. Will never go back.

After Driving around for 10 min, I finally found joey tate's. One of those hidden spots. After I arrived, I was to be the only one in there, but was early. Started to get packed around 9am or so. The inside is clean and nice seating with much space. I thought the waitress could have been alittle bit nicer. I guess it was just one of those bad mornings. I ordered the French toast with bacon and coffee. It was good. Bacon could have been alittle more crispy and so the French toast could of to. All and all it was okay. The Half & Half for the coffee was warm. Must have been sitting out for along time. And not refrigerated. Prices are average, I will have to give this place a try again, mabe in the near future and try something esle for breakfast!! And hopefully have a better experience.

The more I go, the more it's a hit or miss...potatoes were on the edge of being hard and burnt.. I like my potatoes browned, but not so hard and...sausages were definitely burnt on both sides. Complained to mgr and they made it right...and replaced the sausage...two eggs scrapple and potatoes...two eggs sausage and potatoes. Ordered grits during two visits to give them a try...lumpy not good. I would still go back, but I know what to expect now.

This was our 1st time eating at Joey', it was okay. The coffee and breakfast sausage was very good but the pancakes were only okay. I thought the service staff would be friendlier but over all I would come back for a second visit.

Hot coffee. Excellent food. Quick & efficient service. What more could you ask for. We loved it!

Very good food at a very good price. We have visited twice and my kids usually order "breakfast for dinner" (pancakes or french toast and some breakfast meat) while my wife and I have stuck to sandwiches on our two visits, including Burgers on "Burger Night" ($5.95 with 4 toppings and FF) - Monday night is Burger Night. Good/friendly service as well.

Well i have been here a few times over the last couple of years the food is good but lcan use some spicing up in the decor. I have not returned for months because the menu never changes which is quite dissappointing. If you are looking for a quick good meal this is the place for you but if you want a great meal with variety you would have to go elsewhere. Some of the waitresses were not in happy moods there at times.

    - The food was as expected, maybe a little less. Nothing to write home about, but not bad. If you've never been here before, picture 'food', and now you have. Although, perhaps they specialize in particular things...we had fairly simple breakfast stuff (e

Joey Tate's is my favorite breakfast spot in town. I got the Country Scramble and it was delicious! This is really good homely food - I'd recommend stopping in if you're in the area.

I really wanted to give this place one star but when it came down to it, I had to think of the cleanliness, and presentation of food which were both okay. I came here with a party of 8 one Sunday morning and the restaurant was EMPTY. When I told the waitresses that we would be 8 people they looked annoyed and told me to wait while they push the tables together. It was 10:30 am and there was a vacuum cleaner out in the middle of the floor as if they had just been cleaning (which I thought was soo unprofessional). When it came down to the service, the waitresses were the most miserable women I have ever had wait on me. They made the whole party feel as though we were inconveniencing them and mind you, there were no more than 5 other tables in the restaurant. I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelette which was terrible (thank god I brought a protien bar with me) but everyone else said their food was "acceptable" I will NOT be back.

We have only ever had breakfast here but their breakfast is always excellent! I only wish they were open later. I love the build your own omelettes. The pancakes are amazing. They are one of the few diners that when you ask for your home fries to be well done, they are actually well done! Which is how home fries should always be, in my opinion....

The New England Clam Chowder is probably the best I ever had! Flavorful, full of meat and veggies. I highly recommend it if it is the soup of the day! When the surprisingly heavy snow storm hit Jenkintown one Sunday a few weeks ago, I went out for a stroll to check out the winter scenery. Frozen to my bones, I stopped into Joey Tate's for a hot meal. As I was the only one there at first, I can't comment much about the speed of the service, but the staff was professional and polite. Apparently the waiter was also the man who made the incredible soup! I also had the Smothered Chicken Dish that was also delicious, though it didn't WOW me like the soup. Soon a few couples strolled inside (remember, this is during a snow storm, so you know this must be a good place!) and they also seemed to be somewhat older. It seems like Joey Tate's is one of Jenkintown's hidden gems - a bit removed from the center of town, but still right off of York Road. The prices were reasonable (considering that this is Jenkintown), and I'll definitely make my way back to the restaurant in the future, through hopefully without having to trek through snow to get there!

Just moved to the area and for the most part it's a food wasteland! We are however discovering a few places to get us through the days and nights when we don't want to cook and so far Joey Tate's has met that need. We just discovered them last week and we have eaten there twice - once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both meals were perfectly fine. For breakfast I had 2 eggs over medium and they were cooked with a perfect runny yolk and well done whites. The sausage was as described by other reviewers (very flat and floppy) but I found the taste to be fine. My dry wheat toast was very good and they gave me whipped butter (not a fan) on the side. I liked the home fries. My husband had a breakfast sandwich and he liked it a lot. For lunch we both had BLT's. I asked for extra crispy bacon and it was perfect, with a little bag of chips on the side, and a pickle. The service has been a little weird and erratic. At breakfast I got my food piecemeal and the waitress wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but all in all it worked out okay. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the staff is not always the most pleasant I have run into but so far it hasn't affected my experience that much. If it ever does I will send a complaint to the owner. I believe in letting a restaurant know when things are unacceptable. In looking at the dinner menu, I find the food to be uninspired and the pictures for the most part are not very appetizing. We might get around to trying the dinner menu but I would tread very lightly here! Someone recommended the burger so maybe that would be a good bet. For the most part I expect we will mostly be going here for breakfast or lunch. I think they serve breakfast all day so that suits me just fine. Too bad there isn't a diner around here that can get everything right, but I'll keep hoping for one and maybe it will happen.

Brunch here over the weekend with a friend. I think were looking for a place equidistance to both our homes and I yelped this and other place and decided to try this instead. I thought there would be a wait but surprisingly NOPE. The location is a bit hard to find but they have parking so that's cool. I had the combination palate (with like 1pancake, 1 french toast, 1 sausage..etc)..I added extra eggs. The bacon that came with looked like dry cardboard. Not sure what that was suppose to look like but i didn't eat it. I enjoyed the french toast. Eggs were okay..just eggs. Also ordered was a lunch sandwich and the waffle fries with cheese. the fries were the first thing i tasted and i wasn't particularly hungry but they were smashing. I enjoyed those. Overall, if it was closer to home maybe I may frequent it once in a while when I'm too lazy to cook myself breakfast,

Excellent! Lives up to all the top reviews. The servers were very personable and attentive. The omelette was superb. Could not have asked for more.

The pancakes were good, the sausage was delicious, but we found the hash browns to be unseasoned. Even with salt and pepper after on the table, it still lacked flavor. We would go here again to try breakfast and try lunch also.

The food here is phenomenal: both the quality and quantities are the perfect. Great guest service with timely food arrival. Cozy & hospitable atmosphere. The Prince & I are on our way there now :) Go Joey Tates

Fast service and friendly staff. Bacon was cooked perfect and the French toast was as well. Clean and comfortable also.

This is a good diner place to try for breakfast or lunch. The prices are reasonable, the service is fairly speedy, and the food is good. I had the corned beef rueben and I was not disappointed. They have a lot of standard deli options like ruebens and corned beef specials, but they also have other more adventurous choices as well. Its close to work for me, so I'll have to stop back in to try something different!

The food was standard, can't complain. I was disappointed in my waitress however, and felt because I wasn't a regular I didn't really matter. I may go back but I do not want the same person "taking care" of me.

I'm reluctantly writing this because a part of me doesn't want a mob of people overrunning my favorite neighborhood place but I guess I'll take my chances because a great spot deserves a great review. We used to go to Joey Tate's when it was Sam's Grill and we were very disappointed when Sam's closed. When we saw the new "Joey Tate's" sign a few months later, we were convinced that it couldn't be as good as Sam's had been. Wrong! I love this place. Friendly staff, nice selection of menu items. We haven't done breakfast here yet but I hear it's great. Everything I've tried has been good but I think their burgers are exceptional. That's my go-to choice. We've never had to wait for a table but we normally hit them on a weeknight when I don't feel like cooking. If you're in Jenkintown and you want a good meal at a reasonable price, this is the place.

Breakfast was decent. Kids liked it. I found the breakfast foods to be acceptable. The service was friendly and attentive. There isn't much to the decor really, besides wall-covering mirrors that make the small place look bigger. The walls are the same color as my living room though, so that was kind of amusing! Nectarine yellow-gold. Someone needs to put up some artwork or flowers or something! lol Basically it's diner fare in a strip mall setting. Prices were decent and so with that, I'd go back just to take the kids out, but it's not a place I'd write home about. P.S. If you order sausage with your breakfast, you aren't gonna get a little brown & serve, you're going to get flat sausage patty. Just sayin!

If I could give Joey Tate's a zero star review I would. Hubs and I went here on Saturday morning for our post gym breakfast and man were we majorly disappointed. How do you screw up breakfast it is literally the easiest meal to make. I had a combination platter that had 1 egg scrambled, 1 pancake, 1 french toast, 1 sausage, 1 slice of bacon, and 1 piece of toast. YUCK, YUCK, and YUCK. Out of the whole platter the only edible thing was the slice of toast. The pancake was so rubbery I couldn't even mask the taste with a ton of syrup. All I can say is it's pretty damn bad when you make breakfast at McDonalds look like it came from a Michelin star restaurant.

The food and the service at this restaurant were very good. There is a good size parking lot available. The night we went to Joey Tate's, everyone in the restaurant was at least over 50 years old. The decor really needs help. The tight configuration of the restaurant and the cheap, old decor made my overall dining experience not as good as it could have been.

Went here for breakfast on a sunday. We were seated right away and the waitress was helpful in ordering. I ALWAYS (and I mean always) order a mushroom and american cheese omlette when I go out to breakfast, rye toast and a side of sausage. It came with hash browns that were pretty good, a little underseasoned, but fine. The toast was nice and crispy, the omlette quite good, but the sausage?? Yikes. I seriously love sausage, and it kinda makes or breaks a place for me...these prepackaged, flat, floppy sausage patties were not just not delicious, they were awful. I would go back to have lunch and maybe even dinner, but I would not go back for breakfast unless they get some darn good patties or some decent links in there. I can go to Our Family Cafe on West and get awesome breakfast sausages and the same price range. Joey, look into that, and we will be back for sure.

I was surprised that Joey Tate's was crowded on a Sunday night. However, I wasn't surprised after I had tasted the food! Wow. It is real home-style cooking and you can taste the love and careful preparation in every bite. I recommend the stuffed french toast and any of their pancakes. The waffle fries aren't bad, either!
