Probably the worst meal we've ever had. Steaks were overdone, there was no bread and even though we asked several times, they never brought any out, and the pudding I tried for desset was curdled. This was our first and last visit to this place.

Outstanding family steak house. Great food and service. Enjoyed the salad and dessert bar too. Definitely worth visiting. If you are looking for trendy and fancy look elsewhere. Looking for good food, service and staff - Hoss's is the place. Hossome=Awesome!

If you like your steak with some red or pink - tip: order it rare. I ordered mine rare and it came out medium. My husband ordered medium and it came out well done. The buffet was clean and well maintained - offering many choices for each of us to find something to enjoy.

My in-laws live in Harrisburg and a trip to Hoss's is usually on the menu ( no pun intended) when we go visit. I usually order the crab cake sandwhich and add the salad/soup . So far haven't been disappointed. I was originally expecting the crab cake to be so-so. Not true! It's full of crab meat and not a lot of filler. When they mean crab, it's lump, not little bits of lower grade crab. Definately worth a try. The Salad and Soup bar is great. I am a fan of the Chciken Noodle soup with the homemade noodles. We don't get anything like that at home. Salad bar is a salad bar. My opinion on salad is that's what the food eats, but my wife and mother-in-law enjoy it. The items are always fresh and plentiful. One the otherside they have a bread areas with fresh hot breads and rolls, along with a vriety of packaged crackers. One of the things i can't get over is the cinnimon bread, which is really good. What makes me scartch my head is the large knife they have out there to cut your own. This thing is a mini sword with serrades, yet it stands alone on the bar for guest to cut their own slices. I hope one day noone gets hurt by this. Desserts are also good with a wide selection of cobblers, brownies, pie, etc. Soft serv e ice cream with a variety of toppings is always a hit with myself and my father in law. We were here prior to the flood and after. The "new" version is bright and airy and is a pleasnt place to eat. A nice touch is local Hershey memoribilia hanging on the wall.

The food was pretty good. The salad, soup and dessert bar were also pretty good. They don't offer alcoholic beverages but I was told that they are BYOB!

great food for the price... good service and nice salad/soup bar. I am surprised that the price range comes up as 4 $$$$.. YELP needs to fix that. It does not cost over 60 bucks for one person to eat here. Its a shame some yelpers abuse the system and put up fake info such as saying this is a $$$$ place when it is not.. I guess I have to make it one $ to help offset the others inaccurate figures.

The food: Reading reviews prior to coming to Hoss's for dinner, the family and I arrived with some expectations. The husband had the steak and baked potato with some fixings and I had the steak tips with the mashed potatoes. Expectation from review No. 1: the baked potato with the ordered fixings will come bare. CHECK. Expectation from Review No. 2: they are slow to refill drinks. CHECK. The plating of the entrees have much to be desired; the steaks were well seasoned and cooked as requested. They had a choice of 5 soups, of which I had the chicken noodle, and it was very tasty! The salad bar had a variety of greens, some toppings, and a variety of dressings, mostly creamy dressings and only 1 vinaigrette. The dessert bar consisted of cookies, brownies, some pies and a variety of custards. The ambiance: A little dated but the attempt at keeping it clean is seen. All in all, for the $40 tab for 2, it's worth a trip to Hoss's.

I like Hoss's - never a problem but for the review that said - they asked for bread and it never arrived at the table - that stuff is at the salad bar - so it isn't brought to the tables. just a FYI.

They don't know how to cook steak here. They salted the very hell out of the meat. I wondered if they believed we were crossing great land without the meat spoiling. They should read the book "I just here for the food by Alton Brown" it will keep your customers happy. Our meal was cold when it got to us and my meat was brown on the outside but blood red on the inside and raw. I sent it back and it was returned more salted and med well and tough as a hockey puck. I hate buffets because they are hording of the masses for lackluster flavor or quality. We asked for bread 3 times and it never made to the table. I do not believe they understand the word "Bread" and then give it to the customers too. And the WiFi was weak all over.

I've been back twice since they have reopened after the flood. The makeover of the dining area cleaned and brightened the restaurant. It is no longer dingy. The staff has been very pleasant and helpful, taking dishes quickly and refilling drinks. The steaks have been cooked correctly ( med rare to medium). Crab cake was tasty with large chunks of crab meat. The salad bar has been well stocked and clean. We have no complaints. Is it a 5 star dining experience, of course not, but for quick and tasty, you really could not go wrong. You shouldn't leave hungry.

Doesn't make the cut as a steakhouse in my book. Worth going for a lunch salad bar. Dishes and flatware are consistently dirty... Not water spots but pieces of prior meals stuck to them.

First visit in this place and it was after the flood. I love steak, real steak, juicy steak, grilled steak. As you enter you are faced with the menu on the wall before you are seated. You order as you enter the dining room. weird. Make sure you bring your ray bans, the lighting is so bright I got a sunburn. We were escorted to our table and directed to the salad bar. Mob scene at the salad/desert bar. I had filled my salad plate before I witnessed one of the staff attending the salad bar use his bare fingers to wipe spilled salad dressing back into the vat......good, I didn't get the ranch. Salad was nice and cold and unfortunately it was very, very wet. The steaks got there. They were ordered rare. They were firmly medium with no char. They must be marinated because they were salty through and through. There was no way to put pepper on the steaks or salad because the pepper shakers are those throw away type shakers that do not expel pepper. No Beer, who ever heard of a steak house with no beer? Decent baked potato. I tried hard to look for a decent thing to say. Here it is. The waiter, a young black man was absolutely great. He was attentive and pleasant. He was too good for this place as it was clear he was the only one who gave a hoot. Summary, Poor quality salty steaks, sloppy unclean staff (not our waiter) and overpriced. Major disappointment.

Decent Steakhouse. Food quality at this location has gotten better over the last few years. (maybe management change) I like the food just wish they would please learn how to make soup. Large salad bar that is a big draw. You honestly can't go wrong here.
