Every time I'm in Hershey I go here. Coffee has a light chocolate taste and Annie's Favorite Salad in the Whole World is mine as well

Saturday in July. Got seated right away, so it was not that busy. Never got a waitress. Finally ordered my meal with the hostess. other patrons were complaining about slow service and not getting refills on their drinks. If you have LOTS of time, try it. If you are in a hurry, go elsewhere.

We stopped here and had lunch on our way passing through. Abby had a balsamic cheeseburger Andrew had a tuna melt mom had Noah sandwich and I have a Greek wrap. Everything tasted good and they were very accommodating with their sides, eg, chips, fries or salad. We sat on the patio and watched one roller coaster from a distance. Special note the kettle chips had a Parmesan flavor and tasted very good.

This is one of the better "family restaurants" I've eaten at. The menu has a bit of everything, although some of the entrees are a bit over priced. (I'm never the one paying so I really shouldn't complain haha) We enjoy sitting outside on the patio on a nice night. If its a bit chilly they will turn the heat lamps on, and although its on the main road in Hershey- it really doesn't get too loud. Last time they lit some citronella candles also which was nice. Onto the food.... I've found it to be a bit hit or miss, there are things that I've loved, and things I've found to be bland..... Two salads you can't go wrong with are the "Jess's Salad" (with toasted almonds, fresh strawberries and crispy coconut breaded chicken served with homemade poppyseed dressing) Yum! and the "Pittsburgh Steak Salad"- the steak was really juicy and tender and lets face it- when you put french fries on a salad there's no going wrong. There were a couple times I ordered pasta dishes and was less than excited, WITH the exception of "Mrs. D's Lasagna"... Normally I don't order pasta when I go out to eat, because well, I'm italian, and nothing usually measures up to my standards... haha.... but this Lasagna was huge, and nom nom nom (good). All of the Entrees I've ordered have been good, but like I said before they are a bit on the pricier side. The "Key West Scallops"(23.99), "Almond Encrusted Flounder" (17.49) and "Osso Bucco"(22.99) were all very good. A couple times some of my family members have mentioned that their steaks and burgers were overcooked, so be careful there. But, If all else fails, The home made peanut butter pie is oh so yummy.... along with all of the other desserts I've tried..... Service is usually pretty good, sometimes it gets a bit busy, and there aren't that many parking spots.... But overall, We really like this place for casual fare.

Overall, a very good meal. A good set of wine and beers to pair with fresh tasting meals. The restaurant is kid friendly (but remember, your kid should also be restaurant friendly). The only criticism was the risotto that came with both mine and my wife's meal - it was bland. And adding olives to a bland risotto does not make it a Greek risotto.

Stopped in for lunch with the wife and son. Our first time eating lunch here and the food and service was excellent. Started off with the loaded baked potato soup (best I've ever had). Wife had the baked veggie wrap and I had the Maryland Crab Melt. Both were very tasty and came out promptly. Son had a bowl of baked potato soup and offered up no complaints (he is 20 months!).

Amazing food and great atmosphere. The food is a bit pricey for a family outing but a great date night or a night out with friends. Definitely worth the stop. Drive by and you'll see the lot nearly always full. I've had take-out from here as I live nearby and it was great!

Awesome, in a word. From the helpful staff to the amazingly quick service to the incredibly yummy food, this restaurant is at the top of everything. We had a reservation and were seated on time. Our server, Andrea, was prompt with drink orders and taking our dinner orders. Cups were refilled without asking and our dinners came hot and as ordered. The kids loved their meals, too. Try the grilled romaine lettuce with your salad. Super extra yummy! We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Hershey. A+++++

Great place for a quick eat or nice dinner. Service is great and the food is built with layers of intense flavors!! i had the steak and potato wrap

This was the best meal we had in Hershey. Everything else was backwoods burger, BBQ joints and chains that make you purchase your food before you sit. (WHAAAAT?!) At first, I thought the place was trying to hard. The menu had a bunch of things slightly surprising combinations.... I thought it was going to be one of those "fusion" joints that stick off ingredients that dont belong together in the hopes that people will be fooled into thinking its an exotic dish. I was wrong. it rocked.

Very good beer, cocktail, and menu options. Service was also excellent. No complaints for sure,

Upon walking in to decor that was a hair above a remodeled diner, my hopes deflated. Our server alleviated some of my apprehension with her friendly service and our beers appeared only moments after we'd ordered them, as did the calamari, even before we ordered our entrees! My salad, apparently Jess's Favorite Salad in the Whole World, was very fresh with hand-battered coconut chicken and a delicious homemade poppy seed-sesame dressing that left many, many reminders of its goodness in my teeth. I think they must have a noticeable vegetarian following, as the soup du jour was a very well-executed vegetarian chili (GREAT flavor!) and each sandwich gives diners the option of using a burger patty, chicken breast or portabello mushroom. I knocked off a star due to the calamari being on the bland side and about half of the pieces being over-cooked...the accompanying marinara sauce made the inedible pieces worth chewing. Will definitely return.

Came by here for dinner while visiting a friend in Hershey. I server was very upbeat, pleasant, and helpful. Sitting out on the patio my friends and I were able to relax and enjoy the evening with delicious food. All of our meals were superb and we had no complaints.

This is a great lunch place. I've been a few times and have always had a decent experience. It's a nice alternative to the typically frequented Houlihan's across the street. I recently had a bbq chicken sandwich. The sandwich was huge and the sweet bbq sauce was delish. The chips served with the sandwich were not good. I'd recommend requesting a different side.

I don't give five star reviews lightly, but Chocolate Avenue Grill is extremely deserving. Do not let the modest exterior fool you, this is a fine dining experience wrapped in casual clothes. The red pepper and gouda and the wild mushroom soups are chock full of flavor. We tried the chicken breast stuffed with applewood bacon and goat cheese and the veal pot roast were phenomenal. The stuffed flounder and the grilled portabella mushroom also were strong. Everything is made fresh and from available fresh ingredients.

Yum, great service and terrific food with reasonable prices. What more can you ask for?? My husband had a hamburger that was cooked perfectly, juicy and one of the best we (I had to taste (o:) have had. Served with hot fries. I had the haddock sandwich which was just great. It was fried which is not generally my first choice but it was not greasy. It was browned nicely, clean tasting, crisp and flavorful. Served with potato chips that were very good. We would absolutely go back when we are in the area.

The wife and I stopped here before a show at the Theater. I will definitely be back. It does not look like much when you walk in, but the food was delicious! You will not be disappointed stopping here. The service was good, and the prices were reasonable, very reasonable for Hershey.

Simply amazing. The building and decor is very understated for what you get. The staff was super friendly and the menu was way more than I expected. I had the grilled salmon over risotto, it was stellar. My boyfriend had the Tuscany veal which he said was fantastic. Great wine and beer selection too. The spanakopita was out of this world. The prices were extremely reasonable. My only regret is not leaving room for dessert.

Dinner last night was tasty (prime rib from the Chocolate-covered February specials menu), but the wine list was lackluster. The sweet potato fries were delicious and the service was great!

By far the best restaurant in Hershey! We've lived in Hershey for 9 years and were so happy with the grill came to town. Every time we have friends our family visiting we take them here or get takeout from them for a great home meal that suits all tastes. Very family friendly (the staff brought our 2 year-old son toys when she noticed that he was getting antsy and they have a real changing table in the bathroom) Great for lunch, early family dinners or late nights with friends for drinks. Creative food (my fave is the sesame encrusted tuna with strawberry salsa...) for a great price with unique drinks and a relaxing outdoor patio. The homemade soups are awesome and the bread melts in your mouth. We particularly enjoy the personal touch and the support to local organizations. Much more meaningful than the other restaurants in town that are obviously owned by a large corporation...

Recommended family dinner location. Wont make older kids feel babyish. Easy menu for everyone to find something they like, even a vegetarian. Good expresso martini. Outdoor seating has view of roller coaster in park.

Good food, great atmosphere. Almost everything here is great. The more gourmet, the better. Some simple dishes (pasta with red sauce) were just good, not great. However, it's one of the best dinners in Hershey.

  • Katy J.

Service was slow but the beautiful patio and yummy food made up for it. The spanikopita is delish and that's coming from a Greek girl, it's second only to the ones I've had in Greece! The milkshake martini was the best rendition of a choc martini I've ever had!

We were looking for a place to celebrate my buddy's birthday and drove in from Harrisburg. We spend time between Central PA and NYC and hands down would rate this place for food, service and atmosphere above any place we frequent in NYC. We had a great waitress, Kristin B, who made the night complete with great service. She was very informative about the menu and steered us correctly. She also was overall a lot of fun.

Excellent place to eat for dinner when in Hershey! There is a reason this place is packed. We sat outside so didn't have to wait for a table. Our waiter was very friendly but overwhelmed because a huge dinner rush had come at the same time. He had help from other waitresses tho and things went smooth. Between the 4 of us, we had the wings, kids steak, roast beef, mozzaluna, kids mac and cheese, and an adult milkshake martini. Every single thing was good. My milkshake was phenomenal and probably the best adult milkshake I have ever had. My son's kids steak was surprisingly cooked perfectly with no traces of fat. My husband loved his roast beef sandwich which was very big on fresh bread and smothered in horseradish sauce. My mozzaluna were crispy and full of cheese. Our view of the Hersheypark roller-coaster was awesome while we ate. Overall, definitely a good place for dinner with reasonable prices. Beats eating in the park any day!

Very friendly service with many choices for lunch or dinner. I enjoyed the lobster ravioli and my husband enjoyed his hamburger. My daughter raved about her balsamic grilled chicken with Swiss cheese. I tasted it and it was very flavorful. The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend this place for families.

Reading through many of the reviews on Yelp, we thought we should check this place out. It was a Saturday evening, just past 7 and we walked into the restaurant without reservation. I called earlier and they mentioned that they are not taking reservation anymore for this evening, but 30% of their tables are for walk ins, which is great. We were quickly given a table, no waiting at all. The place looked packed though. The waiter came quickly, and gave us our drinks. We ordered lobster risotto, and steak and lobster risotto. The items came in quickly. The food was ok, not bad but nothing spectacular like some of the comments suggest. It felt like risotto was too creamy and a bit overcooked. The portions are genenours and the service was prompt. By 8:30 we were done and as we came out to the parking lot, it was almost empty!

Chose this restaurant off Yelp recommendation after a long day of lunes rides and lots of people. There was a wait but it was brief. There is a great outdoor seating area although the view of the road. Indoor atmosphere was nice - layout was choppy which is nice as it feels like your in a small restaurant. Parking was sparse so you will probably park at the "Downtown" parking only 2 blocks away. Food options were plentiful with some unique seasonings ( wings I will reference below) preparation styles (asparagus wrapped in prosciutto) and combinations. Unfortunately, no Hershey ice cream on the dessert menu. All our meals were very well prepared and nice size portions. Our meal started with a serving of wings with a phenomenal sauce (garlic and citrus). All meals came with a salad with the option the upgrade which we did, to a Caesar, Greek or strawberry) the main dishes spanned angel hair with light red sauce to a slow cooked beef in a wonderful marinade. Overall l, definitely a great place to get away from the "Hershey Park" mania.

Service was fair. Food was fair. We got the bistro tender. The meat was not a great cut and was pretty chewy. The vegetables were pretty good. Kids menu was excellent. Which is why I gave three stars instead of two. Daughter got pasta. And loved the bread that came with the meal. Additional note. The salads were also fair. Seemed like they were made and sitting on a table for awhile like what you get at a convention center. The place was super busy on a Monday night.

INTERESTING restaurant. They straddle the line between a cozy family restaurant and a bar & grill ... they do a good job. Menu is very interesting and seems to cater well the crowd that frequents Hershey. They have enough American-Italian items (6 or 7, if I recall - including a stand-by lasagne) on the menu to please the JerZee crowd(Oh stop it, you know who you are!!) It's really a "big" menu for such a small place, but they pulled it off. Staff was excellent. 5 stars is mostly for the staff ... even the manager was engaged and stopped by more than once. Food was pretty good. I had the NY strip, subbed the asparagus for the fritter and baked beans - that's winning. You should stop by if you're in Hershey, PA.

We were in the area and saw that this place had pretty good reviews so decided to try them out. It's a small local restaurant. We were there around 3pm so I'm assuming it was the lunch menu. All the food items were salad, soups, wraps and sandwiches. I kind of wanted some type of meal where I can eat with utensils but oh wells. We ordered seared tuna appetizer which was so delicious. I absolutely loved it! Then I ordered Noah's sandwich which had turkey, bacon, avocado, melted provolone cheese and lettuce. It was pretty good so no complaint there. My husband ordered beer battered cod sandwich. I didn't try any of it so I can't say much on taste but was told it was good. Both came with potato chips and a pickle. My husband's complaint was that he wish he had fries on the side instead of chips. Overall good place to try if you're in the area.

My friend and I did a lot of research for what restaurant to eat at during our stay in Hershey. We were surprised that there weren't more touristy restaurants for all the visitors that come. We decided on this restaurant which was a great choice. It was very homey with affordable prices. Our waitress was great. We ended up getting a bottle of red wine, a very good salad with goat cheese and fried chicken, and the risotto.

Outstanding place! Upscale environment but still really family friendly. The kids not only got crayons but also wikki stix that even kept my 12 year old entertained. My husband and I also had fun trying a few of the drinks. The Pome martini was good but the long Island Iced tea was fantastic! See the pic! The service was great, I told the manager how great Amanda was and found out it was only her first week!! WOW! She was efficient, attentive and even spent some time with my talkative 2 year old. The food was amazing! My chicken marsala had a delicious thick gravy, homemade mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. My husband had the salmon and said it was yummy as well. Check this place out when in Herhsey. Great environment, service, food and drinks all at a fantastic value!

The thing I liked most about this place was the exclusive menu items. I tried the Blackberry BBQ Chicken which was very tasty and the White Chocolate Scallops which were also good. The sides could have been better. Each came with basmati rice blends. Neither were good enough to finish. This place is a bit expensive for regular visits, but I see myself returning here from time to time, trying more of their unique creations. Its definitely a step up from some of the places around but its worth a try if you like special menus. As the name may imply, they incorporate chocolate into a number of their entrees. Rather tasty.

We were starving after a day at Hershey Park and the Chocolate Avenue Grill seemed like a good, convenient option, but we were ultimately disappointed. The complimentary rolls tasted like they had been microwaved to warmth, and the Seafood Spring Rolls had little seafood and were paired oddly with a fruit sauce. The Seared Tuna entree was a generous portion of fish, but was a little too cooked; the accompanying wasabi risotto was also overcooked and too greasy.

  • Sean C.

This place was perfect after a long of Hersheypark Happy. Janelle, our waitress was hilarious and right on the ball. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, very friendly, and was always there when we need her. The food was fantastic. I had a Pittsburgh style steak salad, which means they add french fries to it. Devilishly good! My wife and daughter had the mediterranean risotto, which was also fantastic. My daughter didn't like the greek olives and arranged them around the plate, which got some friendly laughs from the waitress. They also had a chocolate stout made especially for them from Appalachian Brewing Company, which was a perfect match for my meal and for being Hersheypark tired. I would come back here every time I go to Hershey.

I really wanted to love this place but I'm just "in like" AND it's mainly because of the cool outdoor seating and atmosphere not the food. If weather permits choose outside seating, inside was weird. Ok so we were hungry so a nice entree was on on our mind. We had the Chicken Marsala and Pasta and meatballs. Pasta dish was bland. Mashed potatoes were touted as "creamy" they tasted of pure butter and lumpy. Neither entree was earth shattering. Salad served with meal was not fresh, browned lettuce and all...eeew. Bread was just blah. I want to give this place another try and maybe try a burger or a wrap which seems to be more their specialty.

  • Julia W.

I should know better than to go to a tourist trap but the options were few here. We had the bbq chicken and chicken Parmesan entrees and both were extremely bland. It tasted like cafeteria food. My Manhattan clam chowder was orange and loaded with potato chunks, no clams... Very disappointing.

We wanted to be sure we could find a reasonably priced restaurant that wasn't a chain. Chocolate Avenue Grill was exactly what we needed. They got us a five person reservation on a Friday night without too much trouble. They even seated us early. Wait staff was very prompt and friendly. We started with delicious cheesy garlic bread. The Caesar salad is impressive! They have a very wide menu selection. Kids get plenty to play with while you wait and also get a great menu. They seem to specialize in smoked brisket because it is used in at least 3 of their items. I highly recommend it! It is perfect and the BBQ sauce is superb. Great atmosphere and a large patio seating area that faces Chocolate Avenue for people watching or watching the roller coasters at Hersheypark. Plenty of private parking too.

Service was excellent. Everyone from the hostess, to the manager, to the server. I did not get anything to drink but water and had the cocoa and almond salmon with lemon risotto and spinach and artichokes. The salmon was slightly overcooked but I love my salmon medium rare. Many would have found it just fine. The lemon risotto was excellent. The spinach and artichokes were just ok. Wish I could have gotten a drink and dessert but was watching what I ate! Would definitely return.

We were able to sit outside on a great summer night. The New York Strip and Chicken Marsala were fantastic! Service was great and our waitress Katelyn was very attentive. And to top it off, the Creme Brûlée was awesome!

Stopped here after an afternoon at Chocolate world. It was excellent! I was worried it would be over priced and not that great because of how close it was to the park but this was such a good surprise! The atmosphere is nice and calming a good place to relax after the fun and craziness of the day. The food was so good I wish it was closer to home so I could back again sooner. We had the beef brisket flat bread to start and it was delicious and perfectly sized for a small bite before dinner that wouldn't stuff you. For dinner I had the Noah sandwich which was great! It was a hot turkey sandwich with bacon and avacodo. Again very well done, very good portion and very fair price. My husband had the roast beef cheddar sandwich. Very different twist on a common food. Each sandwich came with a side of chips. The chips were also very tasty. Almost like a bbq but not quite again very simple food with a twist done really well. For dessert we shared baklava sundae. Order it. It's as delicious as it sounds. I also had a hot chocolate which was also very good. I also have to add that our waitress, Lauren, was really great too. Very knowledgeable on the menu and attentive without being over barring. They kept the pace of the meal great too. Service was Quick without being too fast or feeling rushed. BTW very fair prices as with the 3 courses and drinks the bill came to 50 for my husband and I. Very very very positive experience. I would recommend to every one!

  • Mayra B.

The service was excellent. The menu had a wide variety of food with some unexpected options. The brisket flat bread was just ok but the wings were meaty and flavorful. The crab cake and smoked house burgers were both excellent, more than enough portions. Kid friendly!

Came here for lunch ... Really terrific food.. Very nice space. Service was just okay , not the most attentive ..but friendly nonetheless. Everything we got was very very good. With the Gremolata Wings being the highlight here-- they were outstanding! Fresh inventive menu.. Really an all-around good meal especially for lunch.

After searching yelp for a dinner location with good food and reasonable prices we settled on Chocolate Avenue Grill. We ordered sangria for the table which was good. The Blackberry BBQ Chicken was great! Everyone enjoyed their meals. There was a nice outdoor seating area and it seemed accommodating for large groups. I highly recommend it.

My friends and I stopped in for lunch - we started with a drink (mine was so good). We got the hummus app - so GOOD! I ordered the veggie wrap which was good too, but alittle messy to really enjoy. My friends really enjoyed what they ordered though. Prices were reasonable!

This is my fav Hershey restaurant. The food is always delicious, prices are fair, service is good and Wednesday is Mediterranian night so you get greek salad and baklavah! The staff makes great effort to get to know you and if there are any issues w/ your meal, they work to correct. Owners are personable and know me by my face! Nice to be recognized for consistent support of local business. In summer/ tourist season it is packed and limited patio space so come early!

My first 5 star review, because Chocolate Avenue Grill exceeded our expectations for this type of restaurant. Very friendly servers, the service was fast; it's a perfect place for a nice dinner that is both family friendly and affordable. We recommend: Mango BBQ chicken (the coconut basmati rice is great!), the Caesar Salad as a side, and the Southwest Chicken Wrap with sweet potatoes fries (could've used less sour cream in the wrap, otherwise great). Their chocolate martini was amazing. At $7.50, that's a good price for a drink and dessert combo :) We'll be back!

I had relatively low expectations...spent a full, long day with family at Hershey Park, and, having finally made it to the restaurant with wife and kid at 9:30 PM, expected a frustrating night. My first hint that the evening would be turning up came when my pint of local draft beer appeared at my table less than 60 seconds after having sat down! My second hint came with the caesar salad -- wow! And the coup de grace -- an amazing sesame-encrusted tuna with lemon risotto and snow pea pods. The food was nearly perfect, the ambience (sitting outside, listening to the Dave Matthews concert across the street) superb, and the service fast and friendly. My wife also enjoyed her meal (though mine was better), and our son loved the pizza he ordered from the children's menu. All in all, I can't recommend this place highly enough. The prices were very reasonable (I actually did a double-take when I saw the bill, expecting it to be much higher), and the food and service superb. I can't wait to visit the Chocolate Avenue Grill again!

I moved 10 minutes away from the Chocolate Avenue Grille in Summer of 2011. Along with Devon and the Ice House, this is one of the top three restaurants I have tried in the area. Coming from the life of a foodie in San Diego, moving to this area was a real shock to my gourmet lifestyle. It has taken a while to find the few gems in the area, and this is one of them. (Please see my review of the Ice House in Palmyra for a much more detailed description of my thoughts of dining in this area). While nothing in this area will qualify currently as world-class dining (with which I have some experience), you should not expect there to be. My 5 stars means that the food here is absolute excellent for what you should expect from this area, and not say in New York City. Really, I would give the Chocolate Avenue Grille 4.5 stars. The only restaurant experience that I would give 5 stars in this area is Devon, but the Chocolate Avenue Grille has much better prices and the food and service are not far behind. The food here is really quite fine. Nothing that you order is exactly as you'd expect it. I particularly recommend the Tuscan Burger. They used to have Clams Rigani on the menu, and last time I went, you could still order it if you were in the know. I would highly recommend that too. The Fish and Chips is tasty too if you're in the mood for plebeian food. The main disappointment with the Chocolate Avenue Grille is the decor, but unless it is unsanitary (which this restaurant certainly isn't), I will usually ignore the decor for high enough quality food and service. Furthermore, the prices are closer to diner than fine dining, so the decor is perhaps fitting.

Had a late dinner with another family there after the park closed at 8pm. The place was still very busy but the service was still excellent. Two people in our party ordered the Delmonico Steak, one medium and one medium rare to rare, and both came out perfect to order and tasted amazing. I ordered the Mango BBQ Chicken with coconut basmati rice and it was tasty. The portion was good for me, but the chicken may have not been enough for my husband. On the other hand, my daughter ordered the chicken parm and the chicken was much larger. I ordered a their strawberry salad as my side salad that came with my dinner. It was a good size with so many slices of strawberries, with a nice poppy dressing. I was impressed with the side salad to start off. Overall, great experience and reasonably priced.

Me and my family went here for a late dinner during a visit to Hershey Park. We randomly picked this place because it had such a diverse menu. We were pleasantly surprised. We had a variety of dishes, burgers were awesome - kids enjoyed their sliders and pizza - some had the surf and turf they loved it. The Gremolata wings were delicious. Service was very attentive even though were there past closing hours they didn't seem to mind. I would have give it 5 stars but they didn't have the Tuna entree and the drinks were so-so. But the margarita special was great.

The Chocolate Avenue Grill was truly one of the best dining experiences during our family's trip to Hershey. Highly recommend the house specialties, such as the Tuscan Burger. Great food for the price and good kids' menu too! Loved the outside eating area, which enhanced the whole experience.

Good menu, good food. Not great. Outdoor seating was nice. My tuna and noodle plate was cold as if it was a chilled lunch salad. Service was bad. Our waitress enjoyed talking with young couples. We finally stood in order to get our check. Bad experience but we will give it another try.

Meh - after reading the majority of positive reviews i guess i had higher expectations. The service took WAY too long, but the food was good. Not GREAT though. I had the "land and sea" combo of a crabcake and steak medallion, and it was obviously sitting under a heat lamp for a while which basically ruined the steak - but the crabcake was good.

While traveling from NY to Chicago, we stopped into Hershey, PA to see the town and take a break for lunch. We pulled into a parking lot and stumbled into the Hersey Parks and Resorts Corporate office. I spoke with Janet at the Receptionist Desk about good restaurants in the area and she raved about the The Chocolate Avenue Grill. I figured, we are in Hershey and the restaurant has Chocolate in the name, so why not. Besides, I couldn't take another bland chain restaurant again. We walked over the restaurant around 2:00 pm and were seated right away. When traveling with a 3 year old, this is always a good thing. They were serving a limited lunch menu, salads and sandwiches. I saw the dinner menu and would have liked more options, but that is where the negatives end. We started with the Calamari with marinara sauce, which is my preference, Great mix of rings and tentacles, all perfectly cooked and a decent portion size - not too much or too little. My wife had a salad with strawberries and coconut coated chicken. Good portion, crisp and tasty. I had a simple burger with grilled onion and guacamole. Great flavor and can definitely tell they use fresh high quality ingredients. If your driving through or going to Hershey Chocolate World, swing in for great quality food and great service from the staff.

Really good food, we were here on vacation for the weekend and were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Soup was delicious, entrees were tasty and with generous portions, and dessert was sinfully good. Would definitely come back again.

Portion sizes were huge and delicious! The service was excellent as well with the waitress being quite attentive to our drinks. We ate here with our kids and they were well entertained with the "wiki styx" they were given to play with. We will definitely be eating here again the next time we are in Hershey!

The beer selection was great. The food was also very tasty. In fact I would say it was the best meal we had during our vacation to pennsylvania. The only thing I would suggest is they expand their dessert menu.

It was Greek night and the Tiger Shrimp Special was very good. The Greek salad before was outstanding and the dessert that i have no idea how to spell was just past naughty. I got here early before the local rush hit and it did at six promptly. The service was great and the food was good too. The outside is unremarkable as the place looks like a roadside diner but the menu definitely destroys this image. Tried the chocolate beer and did not like by itself but with food it was not that bad. I would not order it again as there were other local beers served that are much better.

Food was ok but not outstanding. Had the calmari salad and steak salads there. Best thing I had was a peanut butter cream brûlée but it's not regularly on the menu. This isn't a bad place to meet with friends. Nice atmosphere but the good wasn't memorable.

Good Food!! My family went the The Chocolate Avenue Grill after having horrible food at the restaurant in the Hershey Lodge. The food was really good but they lost two stars for service as our server was very impatient and sarcastic. We choose to sit on the patio, bad choice!!! because the tables are too small and bugs were an issue.

Great building -- great! -- and a very nice patio area make this an extra pleasant place to have lunch. The food is tasty if a bit overpriced. Portions are not huge, especially in salad dishes. But food is created and assembled with creativity if not total adventure, and there are always hard choices to make when ordering. This place is fantastic for people with allergies and food issues: waitstaff carefully take all the information or retrieve the allergy specialists to take it down and make sure they can feed you without worry. They're nice about it, too, and never make you feel bad for asking. Desserts are amazing, especially the creme brulees, made fresh in various flavours.

This is my all around favorite restaurant in Hershey. It's about six blocks from where I live and it's not uncommon for me to eat two meals there in the same day there (usually one of them is take out). : ) Great menu--just the right variety without overwhelming you with too many options. Personal favorites are the Tuscan Wrap and "Jess's Favorite Salad in the World" -- there's really nothing like it. Great atmosphere and owners Tim and Jess *really* know how to run a restaurant. Great people. Great place. What are you waiting for?

I absolutely love this place! Their food is always great, the staff is friendly and it's a calm atmosphere inside. Their soups are excellent, especially the Hungarian mushroom soup. Sandwiches are great and usually enough to leave you with half to take home. I've also had entrees here, they usually have daily specials that are a little different than the usual. I usually order the "Pittsburgh Steak" salad or "Jess's Favorite Salad"...Pittsburgh steak comes with filet mignon and melted cheddar cheese on top. Delicious! I usually have the spanakopita for an appetizer, which is always on point. There's a sandwich on the menu called the "Noah" with turkey, avocado and bacon that's incredible. Prices are reasonable, especially for being located in the heart of Hershey. Entrees range between $16-$23 and sandwiches and salads start around $7. I definitely recommend this place, I've never had a bad experience there!

This was a enjoyable experience overall however I have a few criticisms. The service was fairly good, and courteous, but the food was only ok. I had their Smoke House burger, and I ordered it medium, but it was cooked very well done. Also my burger did not include lettuce and tomato, which the menu did not indicate. The dish overall had good flavor. Their peanut butter pie was delicious, and I would recommend this place for a casual, semi-family friendly restaurant.

While doing the tourist thing in Hershey, PA, stopped here for a quick lunch. Very good - lunch selection of soup/salad/wraps/sandwiches. Nicely done, tasty, good portions. Would recommend. Staff was also very helpful in giving the 411 about Hershey tourist scene!

I went to Chocolate Avenue Grill with some of my friends this past weekend. We got the Chocolate Beer, but we didn't really taste the chocolate in the beer. We ordered the Mango Chicken, two burgers, and the fish and chips. None of the dishes really stood out and surprised us. Our waitress was nice, but it seemed like they were a bit short staffed. Overall, an ok experience.

Absolutely fantastic lunch food, and a welcome break from the food offered at the local attractions. They have a good variety of incredibly tasty sandwiches, and the sides are equally delicious. The wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would strongly recommend this restaurant if you are in the Hershey area!

My family and I ordered the Guac Burger, the Balsamic Onion Swiss Burger (I think that's the name) and a Reuben sandwich. Spanakopita as an appetizer, then came back for Tiger cake and a pound cake with berries and lemon marscapone. From start to finish it was excellent. The ingredients were treated nicely and it was all made the way I like to cook myself. The burger rolls are tasty, toasted and hold up well to a juicy burger. Both burgers were medium well cooked, the cheese on each was actually melted and everything was hot. The Spanakopita was nice and flaky and had a very good filling. Our lunch waitress tried her best to service us promptly even though they were very busy with large groups coming and going. If she didn't do it as quickly as some people might like, I didn't notice as I am not impatient. The Reuben was awesome. Nice toasty rye bread and ample meat. Everything was seasoned nicely, not bland like so many places can be to cater to the general public. Our waitress for dessert was super outgoing (almost to a fault) and very present. The Chocolate Tiger Cake was good, but I had chocolate cake the other day and wasn't enjoying it like I thought I would. The pound cake with the marscapone, was delightful and I wish I had gotten that instead. The ladies room was rather dark and dingy and could do with some sprucing up to say the least, does have a changing table for babies for those who need it. I will definitely be going back when I am in the town. Keep up the good work.

Went in here expecting good food more towards like a Steak and Sandwhich place. I wasn't overly impressed with the Decor it semed like they were in a split personality decor wise between a diner and a higher class restaurant. They had booths and some stainless steel and formica tables yet the servers were all dressed in Black and white pretty formal. They were all very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and service was quick and the food was hot. The menu was varied and this was a Friday night and we were not really looking for a night out kind of Restaurant just a relaxing easy going supper. The meal like I said was hot nad tasty price was comparable and quality was good they do have a specials dinner menu which was much more higher in price and more creative than what we wanted that night. when we came in which was pretty early for a supper crwod the place was slow but it quickly filled and people around us all seemed to enjoy their food. Their Specials Menu was alittle pricey but that won't stop me from going back the creativity of ingredients and uniqueness of items intrigued me so I will make it a point to return to try some of their specialties out. Try them if your in Hershey I believe you'll enjoy the experience.

We were on a trip to Hershey Park and wanted a good place to eat dinner after being at the park all day. You get sick of theme park food..So I researched the area and found great reviews of this place. After making reservations 2 weeks in advance I was thinking it was a huge busy place, but it's a small place, not fancy at all, about 3 minutes from the park. It was very kid friendly, comfortable dining experience, again not a big fancy chain place. The food was a bit pricey for the looks of the place, but it was excellant! I had the scallop dish with risotto and it was perfect. Also ordered at the table, large dinner salads, homemade lazagna, big portioned kids dinners, and the buffalo chicken appetizer. They even had gluten-free beer. The food was wonderful after being at a theme park all day long. If you go on their website and sign up for the coupon savings email, you will recieve a coupon for a buy one get one half off entree as well as one free dessert for your birthday!

I was pretty impressed with this place considering it's location in downtown Hershey, walking distance from the park. Parking was limited and the place is kind of small and doesn't have a bar, but had a nice outdoor patio. It looked like rain, so we opted to wait for a table inside. It was nice that they had an iPad at the hostess station with local weather radar so you could decide whether to sit outside our not. Service was prompt, attentive enough, and the waitress knew the menu pretty well. We enjoed the hummus appetizer. The brisket sandwich was smoked just right, and a good portion. They've got a decent selection of beers. Food came out pretty quickly for how packed the place was. Was a good stop before going to see Jim Gaffigan perform at the Giant Center.

Had breakfast here this morning. Had sourdough French toast , ham and eggs. Was fantastic!!! Then came back for dinner and my grilled chicken and angel hair pasta was delicious! Omg. Can you so amazing. We started off with the humus trio delicious! House Salad was nothing to write home about but the lobster bisque was delicious! Our entrees were the Salmon with chocolate sauce spinach and artichoke then land and sea which consist of filet and lobster risotto delicious. Service was on point and fast with a smile. Will come back again without a question.

Epitome of average, didn't really blow my mind. The highlight of the meal was my cocktail, but unfortunately the service and food fell short of expectations based on previous reviews. The salads were pathetic to say the least, and bland seemed to be trend amongst the dressings. I was excited at the idea of a wasabi risotto but unfortunately that fell short as well - think over cooked box risotto mixed with a dollop of grocery store wasabi.

Gave the CAG a try after a car show at Hershey last Saturday. We tried the Spanikopita appetizer, the Tuscan Chicken sandwich and the Greek Chicken wrap, off the lunch menu. All was very tasty. Service was great, no complaints.

What a wonderful little place! We had patio seating on such a beautiful day :) I had the Pittsburgh Steak Salad. Steak was super tender, salad was super fresh! We also had the peanut butter chocolate creme brûlée. Server was nice and pleasant :) I recommend this place highly :)

The food was excellent, in particular the cocoa salmon and Mediterranean chicken. Service was very good as well. The restaurant was moderately crowded for a Wednesday night. Only downside is the ambiance is average. I expected something a bit more trendy and lively but it's more of a casual, family spot. Not bad, but different from my expectation. I would recommend this spot for visitors to Hershey, PA.

Adorable little place!! Very close to the park with reasonable prices for the food you're getting. Private parking lot is always a plus in my book. We ordered the Gremolata wings: these were huge! Flavor was very unique and savory, and absolutely cooked perfectly. Husband ordered the salmon entree and I ordered the crab cake entree. Both came with veggies and rice. Salmon was well-cooked and the crab cake was super tasty. One side was cooked too long, but the thing was loaded with real crab, I couldn't complain. Only regret was not getting the 2nd crab cake option. The carrots on my dish, though, were very underdone. It missed the al dente mark completely, but I was getting full from the rice so I didn't mind too much. I would come here again.

First time dining at this restaurant. My husband and I came during lunch. The food was exceptional!! We live about an hour away and plan to come here again during our next visit to Hershey. The only complaint we had was that our server was a bit slow. She was kind, but she didn't check back on us to see if our food was okay and if we needed refills on our drinks. It took a while for our check to arrive as well. Other than thank, I look forward to our next dining experience.

This is one of the best restaurants in the Hershey area. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. We enjoyed the following items: strawberry lemonade (which was so refreshing), the balsamic burger, turkey club wrap with pasta salad, and crab bisque soup. Everything was fantastic. We will definitely be back!

Had a delicious meal here. Baked Salmon with a chocolate almond sauce, garlic mashed yukon gold potatoes and spinach with artichoke hearts. To wash it down I had an Appalachian Chocolate Stoudt. OMG! Delicious!

Since we are local, we eat at the Grill as much as we can. There are not many entrees on the menu we haven't tried. Believe or not one of my favorites is their cheese steak (one of the best I've ever had); it's a lunch item, but they will prepare it for you for dinner if you ask. If you are vacationing in Hershey or just passing through, it is a must stop for dinner. You won't be disappointed.

Wanted to try everything on the menu. Visited here on a weekend night while visiting Hershey. Really interesting dinner selections available, and there was something here to please everyone. I had the "favorite salad", featuring coconut chicken, strawberries, almonds, and poppy dressing, and it was delicious. My mother had the short ribs and they arrived with no bones and no fat, and were pretty amazing. Extensive kid's menu (both for the picky and more adventurous), great red sangria, beer selection features local brewers. Happy to take advantage of the outdoor seating. Friendly, helpful service. Will definitely go back on my next visit to Hershey. Gives many city restaurants a run for their money!

Fantastic- definitely recommend this place. I stopped here on a Thursday night by myself (in town for a conference). I originally planned on going to Houlihans or Devon's but the wait was an hour for a table and the bars were packed and not a free seat in sight so I drove down the street and saw The Chocolate Avenue Grill. They do not have a bar but I was given a table by the window and settled in for a delicious meal. The goat cheese and spinach salad was amazing (part of restaurant week menu). I then moved on to the salmon dinner with asparagus and rice. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had garlic butter on top. They have a great selection of drinks, even a good wine list (I love Malbec and was pleasantly surprised to find it on the list). My waitress Carol was very friendly and attentive, I never had to flag her down, as she always had perfect timing with everything. And the hershey kisses are the perfect touch at the end of your meal! If I'm ever in Hershey again I will definitely come here!

  • Stacie M.

I loved this restaurant. It is cozy, warm, the service was great and everything we loved everything we tried. The spanikopita was good, the milkshake martini was dessert in a glass, the short ribs were excellent and the kids food was delicious as well. We live too far to make this a weekly dinner joint but if we lived closer we'd be there all of the time.

We had a great dining experience, with five adults and four children. They were very accommodating in scheduling our reservation. The food was great and our server was on top of everything. The restaurant is somewhat small, but very warm and charming. Thumbs up!

We ate here because we wanted to eat somewhere local to Hershey that wasn't a chain. We were pleasantly surprised by our good choice. The food was top notch, delicious and unique creations. The service was good; the environment was pleasant and they had a good kids menu for my two children to chose from. The desserts were very good. Wednesdays they have Greek pastries on the dessert menu. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good, reasonable place to eat in Hershey.

We had tickets to see the Monkee's at the Hershey Theater and this place was very close. We could park in the Theater parking lot and walk to the restaurant. That was a great part about eating here. It was just ok for me though. I guess my problem was the appetizer that i ordered. It was Bruschetta. Normally you would get grilled bread with a tomato based topping on it. That's what I was ready for. What I received was olives, onions, tomatoes, and onions in a cup of olive oil. Way too oily and it was not very good. It would have been much better to put some nice tomatoes, onion, and olives on top of some crusty grilled bread. The veggy wrap wasn't bad but I have definitely had better. The rest of my party thought the food was decent but nobody raved about their meals. The price was ok for the food that you received. The service was a bit slow. I give it a three star. Not sure what all the raving reviews are about. Maybe next time I will have a better experience and there probably will be a next time when I see something at the Hershey Theater again.

  • Bob G.

Just another average looking restaurant at best. Service is good but the food is just average. Start with average food and no matter what you do with it it tastes average! In a tourist area so they must be making a go of it but it isn't flavor that is doing it here! Shame is they opened another average Mexican place up the road, Luna, and it is a yawner also. No go food in Hershey other than Devon Grill.

Better than we expected. We had Jess's salad w/poppy seed dressing. The mixed greens w/coconut chicken was quite possibly the best sald I have ever eaten. We even purchased the dressing to take home. The Zoe's wrap was great! It had so much flavor,(fruity) and packed with ingredients. Both entrees were large enough to feed 3-4 people (only 2 of us). And the waitress was excellent. She was friendly, efficient and helpful with things to do around Hershey.

Went there based on the recommendations on Yelp. Both my wife and I had burgers and they were very tasty and juicy. The service there was excellent. It is in downtown Hershey so close to the attractions.

Chose this place to have dinner since we were at Hershey Park during the day and this place had decent reviews. The good thing is we were seated immediately and the waiter took our order right away. The bad news is he didn't bring most of our order out and totally forgot until he asked if we wanted dessert. We didn't say anything because we wanted to see his reaction and he offered us the soup we original ordered to take home. Why would we want the soup to go if we came here for dinner? The food was decent but the service was horrible. Didn't even ask to speak to the manager because we were so upset. We will not be coming back here!

Definitely a surprise to find an eatery like this in Hershey, PA. It was our first visit to the area and it made a great first impression. The food was wonderful, and the only reason I took off a star was for the service. It wasn't terrible, but I wish our server had paid us a visit a few more times. At any rate, we'll be back!

We had such high hopes for lunch here but they were all dashed quickly. Service was really bad. We felt like we were intruding on the wait staff. It's so odd cause everyone in town is so nice but the wait staff here were just annoyed & super unfriendly. Food was mediocre @ best. Think TGI Fridays or Chilis. We had a better dining experience @ Friendly's! We won't be back when we visit Hershey again.

Great food! I had the shrimp corn chowder and the Jessy's Salad (their signature). My boyfriend had a chicken sandwich with pesto and fresh mozzarella. He said it was excellent. Great service, fresh food and reasonable prices! I can't wait to come back next time we're in Hershey!

A nice place that lives up to it's well deserved reputation. Good food, accommodating service, fine location and facilities. It is a crossover between a grill/bar and family restaurant. An easy choice when looking for a bite to eat or a special night out.

  • Becca H.

This place is fine if you leave Hershey park and you're starving but don't want any more hotdogs and chicken fingers. You can eat outside and watch a roller coaster while you eat. Food is very middle of the road, innocuous modern diner fare. I had a shrimp Caesar which came charred but the shrimp and the lettuce were both charred so it felt like I was eating the bottom of a grill. Pretty awful wine choices too. Great place if you have kids, but otherwise nothing special. Nice, attentive waitstaff but the host looked very cranky.

    (2)
  • Dawn H.

We went here for an early dinner before heading to the park for the evening. Our waiter was very entertaining and attentive, but we had a group of nine and the food took a long time to come. Luckily, we weren't in a hurry. The bread was warm and doughy - a good start. I had the Greek Wrap, and it was great. My husband's burger was very good, but the other burger in our party was over done. The Pittsburgh Steak salad lived up to expectations, and the steak was very tender. Those in the group that had the Noah and the Southwestern Wrap thought they were on the dry side.

  • Jeff R.

Have had takeout and dined in a few times while on business here. Pricing is fair for the food. I like the atmosphere on a summer evening sitting out on the patio - very relaxing. With the entrees you get a salad. Small but good. I highly recommend the Mediterranean Chicken - the risotto is delicious with it. In my most recent meal, I ordered the Salmon. Like the Chicken, the risotto was great with it. Nice date spot, family friendly and even great for the road warrior to get a good quality meal.

We had high expectations, as this place is well liked on Yelp. Portions are too large, and too expensive. Seared tuna was frozen and chemically tasting. Charred ceaser salad tasted like frying oil. The chairs are about 6 inches too low for the tables, leading to a really weird vibe. Our waitress was very friendly (and took our order with an iPad) but went missing for long periods of time. The iced tea is great. Otherwise, skip this place.

  • Sandra R.

My fiancee took me here for a surprise birthday meal, and I was really impressed. I'm a Celiac, so he had called ahead to make sure they had gluten free options. We went in late May, and sitting on the patio looking into downtown Hershey was delightful. The food was delicious, and the drinks were my favorite. The waitress was knowledgeable about their gluten free options, instead of having a separate menu. Overall, it was a great experience. Would go again.

This was my second time here and I plan on having many more visits. My friend and I were visiting Lancaster, and we discovered that Hershey was just a 45 minute drive from where we were staying. We loved the Chocolate Avenue Grill so much our first visit last year, we decided it was worth the drive to go there again. We were saddened that the Philly Cheesesteak is only on their lunch menu (the best cheesesteak ever), but it gave us the opportunity to try their burgers which were also delicious. The most important menu items, however, are the Milkshake Martini, and the Garlic Bread. I didn't know I could get excited about garlic bread, but there it is, it happened. If you're in Hershey, especially at lunch time, definitely go here. The lunch menu of course has happier prices than the dinner menu, but the sandwich prices were about the same for both. The dinner entree's were more pricey, but not more so than sit-down chain restaurants.

I was at The Chocolate Avenue Grill with my girlfriend on Saturday 7/18. Definitely did not have a great experience and I would not recommend this place to other people. In fact, the only reason I am not giving them 1 star is because the service was good. Other than that, bad dining experience. First, there were flies around our table. I understand seeing one fly while your dining but to sho away flies multiple times is a bad sign of cleanliness. Then, there was the food - TERRIBLE. I ordered the Tuna appetizer. Tuna was old and tasted fishy. I never ever return food but I was very tempted to send it back (ultimately we just didn't eat it). For our entree's we split a veggie wrap and salad. The salad was fine. It was very hot outside and the salad was refreshing. The veggie wrap was gross. The vegetables were over cooked into a mushy, unrecognizable stew. The tortilla for the wrap was soaked in sauce and falling a apart. Again, didn't send it back but did not eat it. Overall, my dining experience was like paying for a moderately expensive meal but getting low quality food. Save your money and go to McD's

A family business. Friendly, attentive service. The food is wonderful. I had the Greek Wrap. The chicken was tender and juicy, and the home made sauce was great. Really good draft beer, especially the ABC Chocolate Stout originally developed for Chocolate Avenue Grille. You won't go wrong here. The owners really know what they're doing and keep a great thing going.

Food was fairly decent. I thought it would have been better from all the crazy high reviews. Maybe this place is AMAZING for Hershey, but for Philly standards (great food and atmosphere), this place is just mediocre. Gremolata Wings - Where's the seasoning??? Wings had a great crisp to it and very moist, but it was definately lacking in seasonings. We did LOVE the blue cheese it came with. We devoured the blue cheese (hahaha) Orange Ginger Tuna - I didn't like that the tuna came in cubed chunks. I would have preferred slices, but the flavoring was good. Veal Oscar - It was a tad on the dry side even though it had the hollandaise sauce on it. Isn't veal supposed to be tender? Pork Shank - It was fall off the bone and pretty good. Nice flavoring Land and Lobster - The lobster risotto was really good! But the gorgonzola butter was kinda nasty! The butter didn't even melt on the steak. It was just a clump sitting there. Not pleasing at all. But the risotto...MMMM. Had nice chunks of lobster in it and was the perfect flavor. If you don't have reservations, make sure you come before the dinner rush hits (prob before 6:30)

This was the best food we had in Hershey. I had the coconut chicken salad and it was yummy. service was great. Looked upscale but was family oriented.

Great place! Food was delicious. Everyone in my party got something different and loved it. I recommend the Pittsburgh Steak Salad. Wings, salmon, Mediterranean chicken, and fish n chips were also good.

Date 7/18 Time: 15:00 Appetizer: Garlic Bread, This was good. I like the cheese and the sauce there is great. Entree: Philly Streak/fries, This was a good sandwich. The Bread was AWESOME. I love the softness of the bread and the fact it held together throughout eating the mean. The only knock on this was the server. She was good but did not complete refills or check back often. That was really the only knock on this place. Wish I would have returned.

My boss, her company partner, and I went there for lunch. First, the service was super fast. However, after the food is served, the server come back after asking if we need anything else. However, I really enjoyed the food! Super fast service!

The Smokehouse burger was great and the fries were excellent. We tried the Gremolata wings and found them to be very bland. I ordered the grilled Salmon and it was over cooked and dry. The risotto was quite good.

Very good food, brought the kids here- they had a great kids menu and the crayons and these little twisty sticks kept them busy till the food came. They also have a selection of sweet chocolate flavored martinis.

We had a lovely dinner here last night. The ny strip and lobster risotto were delicious, our server was attentive and really sweet. I am so glad we came here on out first trip to Hershey. Our kids loved it too--they had those sticky sticks for them to play with! Never seen that before :-). Come here you will not be disappointed! There is a wait but it is worth it!

This place always looks very crowded, so I've only been here a few of times. On my most recent visit they were swamped and they looked understaffed because there was a long line outside and a bunch of open tables. They told us it would be a 20-30min wait, but it took more like 40-45. However, once we were seated the service was great. All the food I've tried here is delicious. Honestly, probably some of the best food in Hershey. I have not tried any of their main dinner entrees, but the soups, salads and sandwiches are delicious and reasonably priced. I detracted a star because it's kind of a hassle to come here because of the parking situation and the long wait on weekends. Definitely worth it though. I will definitely return!

Lets start with the positive: The wings were great. The rest? Terrible. I got the tuna with wasabi risotto. How does one pull off wasabi risotto? One does not. I got a godzilla nuclear green dish with a frozen tuna steak sliced around it. For the same price I could have gone across the road and had FRESH tuna with Lobster risotto and parm crusted potatoes. How do I know? I did that yesterday. Its certainly a tale of 2 cities; one being San Diego and the other Camden New Jersey. The Grille is for sucker tourists only. Desserts were skipped because the meal was so bad and Id lay $1000 that every one of those desserts come from a box in the freezer. Avoid this place or attempt at your own peril.

Excellent food and fast service. I would recommend stopping here if you're in Hershey. Only thing negative I can say about this place is the interior is very dark, so my family and I ate outside .

Great good & service. One thing was off- tables are too high for the chairs inside. Feels like you have to reach up to eat.

Great location with outdoor seating nestled in the shadow of the big yellow roller coaster. Despite it's sweet location and ample parking on chocolate avenue the restaurant is neither sweet nor sour. The service was quick but the food resembled any other chain restaurant for the moderate price.

As out of town visitors (from Philadelphia) we tried this place for the first time. We were quoted for a 30 minute wait and were taken at 15 minutes. The waiting area was small but the staff at the front was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a burger and it was delicious! my boyfriend got the crab cake special with steak and the steak was cooked perfect. Our server was awesome! Our food was out quickly and really good. She was very attentive and friendly. We were in a rush to get to a concert and she delivered the check right away and cashed us out quickly. For out of town customers, we couldn't be more pleased. Oh, by the way - the red sangria .. amazing!!!!

I came here because of the reviews here on yelp and I was somewhat disappointed. My boyfriend and I are here on a mini vacation and we've been eating awesome food all week. The Chocolate Ave Grill was good, but in no way stunning. Plenty of parking spaces - it was rainy and off-season on a tuesday night. Service was fast. I would totally give them 4-5 stars based off their waitresses and the speed of our food getting delivered. It was somewhat busy but far from packed. Food was average. We ordered the Hungarian Mushroom Soup (Soup of the day) which was good, but didn't wow me like other local kennet square mushroom soups that are served relatively nearby. Calamari was meh... slightly overdone and the breading was soggy and falling apart. Wings were pretty good (though they counted a really puny wing that had meat chunks taken out as one of the 6...) Main course, I ordered the land and lobster, which was pretty nice. The filet was cooked perfectly medium rare, and there was a good amount of lobster risotto (like a LOT). Oh totally forgot to mention they had BACON in it. I was disappointed by the "gorgonzola butter" because I am a huge blue cheese freak (I am the cheese connoisseur out of my friend group) and it was basically a sprinkle of small chunks on top of the steak. Boyfriend got the two tenderloin meal and also ordered it medium-rare but his came well done.... like very well done. Mashed potatoes were slathered with cheese and bacon which is alright if you're into the loaded mash. Overall, good meal, decent portions, though a bit pricier than expected. Very Applebee's-esque.

We were in a rush that night and the staff was extremely accommodating. They had a 30 minute wait to seat us but and took our order before we sat down so we wouldn't have to wait. The food came almost as soon as we sat down and it was the most delicious wrap I ever ate. I got the Mediterranean Roast beef and she got the Southwest Chicken Wrap and said it was exemplary. I would totally go here again next time I'm in Hershey! Hope you guys read this. Thanks again!

Great food, prompt and friendly service. I didn't get crazy-- a Reuben, hot tea and (damn good) creme brûlée for dessert. Atmosphere is nicer than it looks from the street, and the bathroom was tidy!

After a long day at Hershey Park took the family here based on the reviews. We arrived and were told a 30 minute wait but were seated in 15. Staff was very helpful and friendly with a Good selection of craft beers and signature drinks. We were very hungry after a day of chicken fingers and pizza so we skipped appetizers and just dove into the main course. Kids meals were perfect and very generous size for a kids meal. Most adults would have been satisfied with that portion. Me and my wife both ordered different specials of the night. Both were perfect, all the reviews were spot on. This is a great place if in the area. Highly recommend, will defiantly go back next visit to Hershey.

My employees and I come to Hershey every year for a big grooming convention. We always pick local restaurants, so we decided to go to the Chocolate Ave Grill. Out server was Lawrence. He was absolutely amazing! 2 girls got the Carmel apple martinis, 1 got the mojito, another the milkshake martini and I had the dog fish head pumpkin beer. All were very delicious! Our salads arrived, they were nothing special, but the poppyseed dressing and the chipotle ranch dressings were great. On to the food 3 girls ordered pasta, 2 Alfredo's and 1 chicken parm. They all decided it was just meh...okay. Another ordered the chicken pecan salad, which was just a chicken finger salad with pecans on it,..meh, then my employee and I ordered the pork osso bucco....GROSS! I was so excited to receive this beautiful osso bucco with the meat falling off the bone... Nope! Just the opposite, tough, rubbery meat. The mashed potatoes is was served with were good, but we had to send the pork back. Lawrence was great about it, he sent the manager over. Both the manager and Lawrence handled the situation very well. Offered us new ones, we said no thanks, but then bought me another beer, desserts for the table and took the osso bucco off the bill. Our dessert was to die for... Pumpkin cheesecake! So good. All in all- GREAT customer service with just okay food. I would maybe go back for just drinks and dessert!

I loved this place! The ambiance is nice and we were able to walk in without reservations which was a big plus. I ordered the Goat Cheese salad which included super fresh spinach, strawberries, blackberries, and kiwi - two warm fried goat cheese rounds - and an amazing dressing. My counterpart got the lasagna and noted it was one of the best he'd had in a while. We also sprung for dessert - you must try the molten cake - I'm pretty sure it was boxed and then microwaved but it was so good that doesn't really matter. I only gave four stars because the service was pretty slow... and I was really ready to get out of there after almost 2 hours - however the waitress and all of the other staff were very friendly - so it's a bit of a double edged sword. I'll definitely be back any time I'm in the area.

Service was slow. Menu is too big for them to execute effectively. Dishes are good in concept but don't come out the way you'd hope. Had the fish special which was excellent but there were Bones in the fish. Daughter had the flatbread with mozz. Tasted very good but the flatbread is actually like a pita that wasn't grilled rather than a flatbread. It's like a gyro Italian. My dish was the veal Oscar. Came out cold and the hollandaise had little flavor. I was disappointed in this place. At the prices they charge it should be above average and it isn't.

Yikes. Human stuff happens, but overall it was just a bad experience. Calamari comes in a huge plate, thrown in a vat of sauce, and there is very little actual calamari. I had the bistro tender beef entree, the beef was flavorless but not unpleasant. The mashed potatoes (which come with unmelted shredded cheese and bacon on top) were legitimately the texture of vomit and didn't taste much better. Sorry to be gross, but it was not enjoyable. The person that I was with had a visible hair in his sandwich. Also, not that it matters, but the kitchen couldn't figure out what container had Italian dressing and we ended up taste testing them all together. The manager was not the usual manager and he was very gracious and gave us a gift card to come back another time, but being from out of state, I don't know that I'll end up returning.

Love this place. Everything I have had is great. Service is excellent and you can tell the family that owns it takes great pride in hospitality. Diverse menu offers something for everyone and most dishes are well executed. Highly recommend for families looking for quality in a comfortable setting.

Protip: Skip the Tiger cake. It tastes like boxed cake only with frosting that's less good. Protip: Order everything else on the menu. It's probably fantastic. Oddly enough, and yet typical enough for places based on dessert, the best part of dining at Chocolate Avenue is the actual meal. Never before have I walked away from a salad and thought "DAMN I WISH I COULD BUY THAT DRESSING" but as I sauntered away from this meal, a few pounds meatier than when I walked in, that is precisely what resonated in my head. Sweet, simple, and scattered with sesame seeds, the house special dressing is phenomenally delicious and pairs delectably with the sour blackberries, succulent strawberries and juicy blueberries that are on the fried feta and spinach salad. The pork "baby bucos" are melty, fall-off-the-bone scrumptious (literally...you lift an osso, and the meat melts off) and coated with some of the best hybrid Kansas City sweet BBQ sauce meets savory Texas sauce. It caramelizes nicely on the pork, leaving a slightly crisp coating. And provides a drool worthy dipping sauce for the sweet potato fries below. The trio of hummus offers three very different varieties of pureed chickpeas. The black bean hummus was delicious - creamy, but speckled with soft chunks of chickpeas and black beans. The chipotle had a nice translucent red layer of spicy oil that melted over warm, fluffy, grilled pita.

I would've given this place 5 starts but the parking there is always a nightmare. The lot out back is very small and always full. The food is delicious and fresh and the servers are always polite and on top of things. I love that they use Open Table to make reservations. My husband and I eat here whenever we're in town and I've even arranged a little baby shower lunch here. It's best for small parties, but they can accommodate larger parties and there's also a patio for outdoor dining in the front of the restaurant. **This place does get busy around dinner so I would suggest making reservations if you can!**

Returned a year later. Not as great (foodwise) as my first experience, but still very friendly and attentive service in a kid friendly restaurant that offers very reasonable prices. My wife and our friend shared the Spanikopita and it received very positive reviews. My friend and I shared the Gremolata Wings, and while they had a delicious crispy skin they could have used a touch more basic seasoning for flavor. Thankfully we had a side of BBQ sauce for dipping, as they would not have had much flavor otherwise. I was upset to learn that they've taken the veal pot roast off the menu. I went with the Pork Osso Bucco, and it was a very average version. The meat was not fall apart tender as they really should be. A steak knife should not be necessary for this dish. My friend's burger was overcooked, and his wife was not so thrilled with her wrap. On a positive note, the kids were quite satisfied with their meals: Pizza, chicken tenders and grilled cheese. The server was very good. So friendly and accommodating. She even threw in a few veggie sides for free and got my wife a small house salad as an Ap. The Peanut Butter Melt Away Pie was decadent! For my friend, it was the highlight of his meal! While not an extensive beer list, they still offer a chocolate porter which is quite good, for those, like me, who are fans of the darker more robust beers.

The Chocolate Ave Grill is basically a glorified diner, but the food is not bad! I've come here for lunch numerous times, and dinner twice. Lunch is definitely better, and when it's nice outside, I'd recommend sitting outdoors! Sandwiches and lunchtime food is the way to go. The portions are generally pretty generous. For instance, the Haddock sandwich has a HUGE piece of fish (flaky and deep fried) that is probably twice the size of the sandwich bun! They also oftentimes have sweet potato fries, which I always order instead of regular fries :) My favorite sandwich at this joint, would have to be the Bistro Steak Sandwich, which for $9 is a pretty good deal! In terms of appetizers, I'd skip the Calamari (which is super small) and get the Gremolata wings instead (they are very tasty and pretty big!). Dinner here is not very impressive, and in fact, I think the last time I came for dinner, I just ordered a sandwich! Overall, this place is a standard restaurant that serves up solid tasty food. It gets super crowded over the summer (probably due to the influx of HersheyPark visitors), and is nothing special....but it's a staple for students like me :)

Great, unique food... The steak salad with fries is unbelievable... As well as the roasted red pepper and Gouda soup (I could just eat this every time I am there). I can't help myself and order form the dessert menu every time- probably made somewhere else- but it is still high quality.

Outdoor seating is fun on those summer evenings. Avoid during tourist season unless you make reservations. The breaded chicken in the chicken parm was a little dry. The shrimp alfredo was fantastic. Prices are average for the area.

This place is pretty cute - it's a bit hard to get into with how the parking lot is though. You can sit both in and outside, and I really suggest sitting inside. Our trip while sitting outside was completely overtaken by flies, more so than normal patios, and we ended up being asked to move inside. It's nice sitting on Chocolate Avenue, but all the flowers and fertilizer around Hershey bring out the bugs like crazy. The food here feels a bit 'Central PA gourmet.' There are gourmet restaurants here, don't get me wrong, but everything here feels like it wants to be kind of fancy but isn't. The menu is all over the place - seafood, Greek, Italian, and lots inbetween. You are basically sure to find something you like. I have enjoyed the baby bucas twice now. They are good - perhaps a bit sweet - but usually yummy. Obviously yummy enough I ordered them twice. The spankipota was good, but kind of tasted like Pillsbury croissants with spinach and cream cheese in them (which is essentially what that is, but they were a bit bland and unspecial.) The bruschetta was good, although a bit sharp and some may not like that. I remember their cheese plate being quite good. Nothing out of the ordinary, but plenty of berries and honey to make me happy.

This place came highly reviewed, but I wasn't that impressed. The food was good, but not great, the service good but not great. They had a fly problem when I came there with the family and the manager seemed to be in an irritated mood. There was no where to park, the wait wasn't long, but again, for all the reviews and such, I wasn't that impressed. The wife had the fettuchini alfredo and she said it was just alright. Again the place is good, but not great in my opinion. I would rather of ate somewhere else for the price.

We did take out after leaving hershey park on 4/4. They close at 10 and I didn't want to sit down at 930 so we took the food to our hotel. Overall it was 3 stars A-OK but might have been a four or even a 5 if we ate in so I wanted to keep things in perspective as the quality of the food might have been compromised beyond CAG's control. We ordered the roast beef wrap, greek wrap, shrimp fettuccini, calamari, south of the border salad with chicken, a kids mac and cheese and a kids slider. Overall the food was ok but since we had to make the trip back to the hotel, the food obviously wasn't as hot or fresh as it could have been. We ordered the food just before leaving hershey and they had it ready when we got there. My biggest complaint was the calamari. I thought the portion was pretty small for $9. I don't know if it was the box or the large amount of salad they put in but it didn't look good. I would definitely come back and do sit in and will update this. Thanks for reading!

Great spot for families or small groups, just "off property" near HersheyPark. This could have turned out to be a local version of Applebee's, with big claims on the menu but failure to deliver the goods. Thankfully, that was hardly the case. Kids' fare was standard (though the inclusion of steak for kids was a nice plus that our oldest appreciated). Adults' options were quite a bit better than average. My wife LOVED the milkshake martini ... great way to unwind after a day of those long rollercoaster lines! Try to call ahead if you have a party of five or more ... this place can book up. Outdoor seating is nice, weather permitting.

We ate at The Chocolate Avenue Grill for my mom's 71st birthday. Our server was great, very friendly with good personality. Our food was somewhat slow to get to us; we we're told a big party had just gotten an order in before us. The wine list was not great but adequate. The Almond Encrusted Flounder was delicious! My mother enjoyed the lasagne. I'd recommend The Chocolate Avenue Grilll and plan to return someday.

This place is an okay place. Food is mediocre. Lots of family and kids. Decor is from the 90s. Our waitress was good. I don't understand the 5 stars rating.

Food was not bad. Service was awful. The waitress was given too many tables, which was noticeable to even me. The manager was standing around, not helping. It took 10 minutes for the people next to me to get drinks (waters). 75 minutes for 2 to eat lunch and it was steady not busy. Wouldn't recommend if you are on a time schedule.

Definitely a great place to eat in Hershey. We were able to go there for dinner and it was fantastic. very nice relaxing atmosphere and the staff was great too. We had chicken parm and lasagna and both were excellent. The salads were huge and and drinks were good too. The Chocolate Stoudt was amazing if you like heavier and darker beers. It is a little higher in price than what you would pay if you were going to a chain restaurant but definitely something to try while in Hershey.

I was very impressed with how "fancy" this place was, yet how child friendly they were as well. My 3 year old son ordered the pasta w meatballs w a side of applesauce and a whole adult portion of pasta came out with a cereal bowl full of applesauce. Lots of food for the price. I ordered the Mediterranean Risotto and my husband ordered the Jessie's favorite salad. I even had a Mocktail from their menu and was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely come back when I'm in town again.

Awesome food! Would have given it five stars, but spent the entire meal covered in soot from the tiki torches outside and fighting off a hoard of gnats. Would definitely recommend and will come back if I'm ever in the area, but I'll request an indoor table next time. I had the favorite salad in the world & I love the coconut crusted chicken! Absolutely amazing!!

After a long day of traveling and eating light, I was ready for a quality meal downtown and The Chocolate Ave Grill beckoned. It was a beautiful, sunny evening and sitting outside was a no-brainer. Of course being in Hershey, I just had to order a chocolate stout from the drink menu. Yum. We kicked things off with some calamari as an appetizer. It was seasoned and done just right, with no worry of a rubbery texture I've experienced in the past. For my main course, I easily decided on the crab cakes served with toasted coconut risotto and sauteed roasted carrots. Everything was absolutely delicious, yet not overly filling. The service was also top-notch, especially for a busy Friday evening. The waitress, although occupied with multiple tables, was very personable and attentive, making multitasking look easier than most. If you happen to be traveling to or through chocolate town and desire a quality meal, make this one of your Yelp bookmarks.

The second we entered the diner we were greeted by smiles and great service. The waitresses went out of their way to set up a table for a family of six with small children. The service was great and they wasted no time with the ordering. We had two children with us that ordered the generic chicken strips, while the adults ordered soups, salads, and for me, a reuben. The soups came in less than five mins and everything else came shortly after. All of the food was superb and came in appropriate servings. To recap "family friendly, great service and tasty food."

Well crafted dishes and a very nice outdoor patio if you are lucky enough to get seated there. But even if not, the interior is very nice and it is the food that stands out! Service is good but server tonight tried a bit too hard to impress. Parking is limited but usually sufficient. Great small town venue!

The Chocolate Avenue Grill seems to be a great place to come with your family after a day at Hershey Park. However, if you're looking for high quality food, this is not the best place to visit. I got the Mediterranean Risotto and my dinner partner got Ms. D's Lasagna. We'll start with the Risotto. The rice was overcooked, mushy, and quite bland. The only flavor came from the copious amounts of cheese melted into the rice. The menu said it would come with asparagus, zucchini, tomatoes, red onions, olives, and basil. These veggies were barely represented. There was a garnish of wilted arugula in one corner of the plate. This was not worth $17. My dinner partner got the Lasagna. Lasagna is his favorite food, but he couldn't even bring himself to finish this one. It was actually cold in the center. It had obviously been frozen and was not sufficiently reheated. The one bright spot of the evening was the service. Our waitress was efficient, thoughtful, and courteous. She was waiting on a large area, yet she remembered each table and stopped to check in on us at exactly the right moments.

service was very good. we ordered 2 different types of soup both were very good, both were warm not hot. we also ordered 2 different sandwiches, both were very good. one hamburger sandwich was hot the other was hamburger sandwich was not. i would go again just would like to see food delivered hot not warm or cold.

Food was really full of flavor, maybe a little too much. My wife ordered the Philly Cheese Steak which was really good. I ordered the Tuscan Burger which looked a lot better than it tasted. It had so much butter on the bun that it dripped off every time I took a bite, which made it hard to handle and borderline disgusting (all I could taste was butter). Out waitress was really slow too. Other waitstaff seemed good, but ours was not. This was just an OK place.

Great food at a reasonable price! My family has been here many times and everything we tried has been delicious! The service is usually good. We did manage to get the same ditsy old lady waitress the last two times we were there. Screws up your check and brings the wrong drinks.

We just happened to be in this area and found them on Yelp. I definitely agree on 4* and approaching 5*. We both started with the a cup of the soup of the day, crab bisque. It was excelent--made me wish I had ordered a bowl. I orderd the crab salad sandwich without tomato and it too was exceptional---in the top 25 of the best sandwiches I have ever had--and I've had a lot. My wife ordered the roasted veggie wrap and said it was great. We both had a glass of red wine and they were very good and reasonably priced. The service was perfect. So so food. Peach chicken had good flavor but covered with apricots. Beef did not have much flavor. Not worth the price for quality of food.

Maybe for lunch, but never for dinner. I felt like I was eating in a diner. The hostess made the seating experience uncomfortable by wanting to put us at one of the worst tables in an otherwise empty restaurant. After some negotiation, we were seated in the back room and the atmosphere was dank and cold. There was another patron on speaker mode of his phone for ten minutes while we dined. I'd chalk that up to rudeness, but honestly couldn't blame just him because I found the atmosphere conducive to such behavior. We had a booth and the seats were too low for the tables as another reviewer mentioned. The food and service were fair at best. This is clearly run by the same people who run Cafe Magnolia in Mechanicsburg, PA. The food is at the same mediocre level as that establishment, but the warmer and relaxed atmosphere is lacking. There are better options in Hershey at the same price point. I suggest you keep looking or just go to Houlihans-which is beautiful and consistently good.

Delicious food, great view of hershey park and super fast service. I would definitely recommend this place, the tuna with wasabi risotto is awesome.

We stopped in here for lunch, and the kids had Chicken Tenders, which were typical fare. My wife and I both had Pittsburgh Salads, 1 with Chicken & 1 with Steak - these salads were FANTASTIC - the prices were a bit high here, but the food was VERY good. If you're in the area, I recommend stopping here.

Dinner was great very busy and we got a window seat!! I had Mediterranean Chicken and Bill had Chicken Alfredo. Mine was fantastic! Bill said his was really good to just to much Alfredo sauce it was swimming in it. Salad came with the meal and awesome rolls!

Went here for dinner with my family on a recent trip to Hershey. We had a little bit of a wait, not unusual for a party of 6 but took that time to peruse the menu. Everything looked so good I couldn't make up my mind! We ordered the mozzarella flatbread to share(not a speck of it was left on the plate) I ordered the greek salad w/chicken, my hubby, father in law, and daughter had the lasagna(SO good), my step daughter got the kids pizza, and my mother in law ordered the rueben. Everything was delicious. I especially liked their nonalcoholic beverages! We were stuffed and didn't have room for dessert. The service was great, the food was great and tasted fresh...we'll definitely return next time we're in hershey!

Food was very fresh. We had the goat cheese spinach salad, Tuscan portabella, kids pizza and steak. All was great down to the last bite.

We found our server to be absolutely lovely however the food was really quite mixed in quality and seasoning. Virtually everything was unsalted and bland. We come to Hershey for the Park and hope to get a decent meal, I just think it's a tough to get a good meal in this town.

They don't take reservations from 5:30-8pm. We originally made a reservation for 8 for 8:30 PM. We walked in at 7:30 and were seated in 15 minutes. Service was superb... Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Portions are nice sized. Kids menu: pasta dish was a huge plate of it. Mac n cheese was a tiny bowl of krafts. Pizza looked bleh. Onto the adult menu: seared Tuna was seared to perfection: nice crust on the outside and raw on the inside. Crab cakes were just ok. Lobster risotto was just ok (I didn't realize they out bacon in it. I'm not a huge fan of bacon. Otherwise it could've been better). Desserts: chocolate brownie sundae & triple chocolate tiger cake - rich and chocolaty - the desserts made up for the ok entrees.

I came here with some co-workers while out of town. We made reservations and it was a good thing we did because the place was packed! I got the Chicken And Andouille Sausage and it was fabulous. The risotto it came with wasn't the best I've ever had, but I still liked it. I would definitely be willing to come back if I was in the area again.

My fiance and I were staying near by in the town of Palmyra at a B&B named 1825 Inn, Valentine weekend. I found this restaurant using Yelp!! which by the way has never steered me wrong... LOVE IT!!! our server she was very friendly and helpful. Their wings, chicken salad and Philly cheese steak hoagie was made to perfection!!!

Nice affordable food after a day at the theme park. They a good variety of foods available. They even had specials that were unique to this area including the fresh cod and salmon. I thought it was neat that they had some home cooked meals as well, such as something called Mom's pasta. The service the was super friendly and the restaurant was clean and tidy. The actual rooms inside are quite small and it can get loud if too many crazy kids are inside. However, this is a fun local place to relax after a fun day at the park.

Went here for dinner last night after a full day at Hershey Park. Monday night after 9pm, we had short 15 min wait. Menu has tons of options at very reasonable prices. the food was fresh and delicious. Our server Ashley was so friendly and very quick in getting food out to our 3 starving children. Would definitely come back when we're in town again.

We were told a 20 minute wait. After 2 tables were called who came in after us were called (and the 20 minutes were up), the hostess assured me we were next. Luckily, a friendly server greeted us and delivered our drinks quickly. We ordered the mezzalunas and they were awesome. As for entrees, my husband had the steak salad which was great. I had a goat cheese salad with grilled chicken. My chicken was clearly re-heated and not fresh (gross). The greens, berries and goat cheese were good. My daughter's chicken alfredo was tasteless and the kids macaroni and cheese was Kraft (which I expect at a chain but not with a creative chef in the kitchen). Finally, we had a brownie sundae and a peanut butter pie. The deserts saved the meal. They were fabulous!

One word, WOW! Holy cow this place rocks! At first glance when driving up to it I was concerned. The windows were tinted, (which is a good idea, actually), and I couldn't see inside to determine how crowded it was. Just a note: I HATE EXTENDED WAITS!! We pulled up, there were 5 of us and I told everyone that I would go inside and see how long of a wait. If it were more than 15-20 minutes we would go elsewhere. Well, I walked in, told them that there were 5 of us and got seated right away! This was at about 5pm! So we all are seated and I'm looking at the menu and there wasn't anything I DIDN'T like. Everything sounded FANTASTIC. Our waitress came over and read off the specials and took our drink order. I ordered the chargrilled lamb special. I haven't had lamb since I was in New Zealand in the mid 1990's. It came with FRESH roasted veggies that were great and homemade Mac & Cheese. OH MY GOD, the mac and cheese was awesome! It had a mild smoky flavor which gave it the POW! factor. All the other entrée's were fantastic, too. Also, the service was excellent! Considering how fresh everything was; I couldn't believe how fast our food came out. Overall, this place is absolutely Top Notch! I bookmarked it on my Yelp account and next time I'm in Hershey I will be making it a point to go here again and again. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Gremolata wings are where it's at! So unique and the wings were crisp, juicy, and meaty. The cinnamon chipotle style is also recommended. Enjoy something a little different. I also had the udon noodle salad which was delicious. The menu has tons of interesting items from a wide variety of food styles. I can't imagine that everyone in your party wouldn't find something that suits your taste. Entrees are priced generally closer to $20 than $10, just as a heads up, but I think the food quality is worth it. Our server Connie was very nice even though we stayed for a long time and ordered a little bit at a time. I would love to get to come back and try some other things.

This restaurant was top notch. We made reservations so we had almost no wait time. The waitress was attentive and was able to inform us about all menu items we asked about. The food was really outstanding - not your traditional run of the mill fare. If you get a salads, be sure to try the poppyseed dressing. Yum! Although the restaurant was full the atmosphere was relaxed. We didn't feel rushed. I would suggest you make a reservation, though..

Never been here before and lets just say I know now where ill be eating @ when ever i'm in Hershey, PA. I ordered Mrs. D's Lasagna and added a side caesar salad. The salad was good the caesar dressing was okay really don't like my caesar salad dressing to be oil based. Other than that the salad was good. When my lasagna came out and i saw the size i was like "really" because in the menu it stated "you won't go away hungry." Well I was wrong after eating the lasagna i was comfortable. Would order the lasagna again it was AMAZING two thumbs up.

This place was very average. The service was good and the atmosphere was ok. I had the Mediterranean chicken which was a a bit tough to eat. It was not as tender and juicy as you would expect. THe cost was average. not allot more to say If you needed a place to eat and wasn't sure where o go, this would do the job.

We chose this restaurant because it was walking distance from the hotel and because we were tourists in Hershey, PA and wanted to eat at the place with chocolate in its name. The food was great, as was the service. We saved room to share dessert (the yummy lava cake). The kids got fun twisty sticks with the kid menu to play with. You can't beat the atmosphere. My son was disappointed we didn't sit outside because the patio is awesome, but we were hungry and took first available. If I were a local, I would keep coming back.

Stopped in Hershey, PA while driving from TX to CT. We were exhausted and starving. Of course we wanted something Chocolate related or themed and this spot was only 2 Blocks away. I started with the chocolate cherry martini and it was honestly the best martini to have ever graced these lips. We tried the seafood spring rolls with raspberry and thy were uber tasty! The piece to resistance was my flounder. It was sweet and savory and everything you could ever hope for in a flounder dish...im guessing, since.. that was my first Flounder. We desperately wanted to try a dessert but we were so full we thought we might be sick if we forced anything else. However, we were so impressed we did try to return to try something else on Sunday but unfortunately they were closed. I don't know what other restaurants were like there but you will NOT be disappointed here!

Casual, contemporary and couture...all perfect adjectives to describe Hershey, Pennsylvania's most unique boutique restaurant and bar; The Chocolate Avenue Grill. Perfectly situated within close proximity to not only downtown but also the hugely popular Hershey Park and the many other Hershey attractions that line scenic West Chocolate Ave. The Chocolate Avenue Grill is a mecca for tourists and locals alike, walking the fine balance of catering to both groups in a seamless ans easy manner. Upscale but unpretentious this small restaurant packs big style and big taste into it's many ingeniously chocolate infused culinary creations, a sort of Hershey infused adventure unto itself. The ambiance here is neo-modern, pulling off a sort of retro modern cool that stands in stark contrast to the more turn of the century architecture embodied by the many surrounding Hershey buildings and homes. This is the sort of location that stands out and makes the passerby take notice; clean lines complimented by an overwhelmingly warm and positive aesthetic which not only makes the diner feel welcome here but also does a really great job at drawing the passer-by in. Once inside, the restaurant is casual and well appointed. The staff is courteous and knows the menu readily offering suggestions and specials that may be of interest to you. Striking a good balance between upscale and more traditional casual the vibe here is comfortable. On our visit here in the Spring we had nothing but praise for everyone we encountered, from the hostess that greeted us at the door to the bus-boys who made sure to speak and say hello to diners while cleaning the tables for the next service. The food here is inspired... The owners of The Chocolate Avenue Grill have really taken the Hershey theme and built something special around it that not only incorporates the influences and tastes of the American chocalatier but also the visuals and textures of the locally grown and sourced foods. The chef has found new and inventive ways to incorporate chocolate into nearly every culinary edifice and in doing so has created a menu that is at once just as creative as it is tasteful. On this visit in particular we enjoyed the lunch service where I ordered the Tuscan Burger while my wife enjoyed the Balsamic Bacon Swiss Burger and together we enjoyed an order of the Bruschetta as an appetizer. Both burgers were excellent, hand-crafted and expertly seasoned, prepared and cooked as ordered. My Tuscan Burger featured fresh mozzarella cheese and Roma tomatoes lightly drizzled with a basil pesto dressing and served up on a crisp grilled-herb focaccia bun. My wife's Balsamic Bacon Swiss Burger featured fresh Swiss cheese, crispy applewood smoked bacon and balsamic glazed onions on an artisan country white roll. Both gourmet burgers were made from a full 1/2 lb of triple-prime freshly ground beef and served with crispily fried thick-cut steakhouse style fries with a dill pickle on the side for good measure. On our Bruschetta appetizer we opted for no olives but enjoyed the fresh Roma tomatoes, red onions and fresh basil all of which were marinated in olive oil and served atop freshly toasted Italian bread. Everything we had here was most excellent and The Chocolate Avenue Grill has become a must visit destination for us whenever visiting Pennsylvania or Maryland. The food, style and ambiance here is most definitely recommended as something not to miss whenever you find yourself in the area.

This is my new favorite restaurant!! It has nice posh, fun and adventuresome food, while also having a casual feel. I was impressed with their food offerings from calamari, to mini osso buco appetizers, to spanikopita. and this is above and beyond their soups, sandwiches, wraps and salads. but one look at their menu and you will see that they offer a great variety without overextending themselves. and so far everything i tried there has been amazing!! (though i would like to get more calamari and less sauce in the appetizer. maybe it was because I didnt want to share! ;o)) I was also impressed with their dessert menu as they stick to a few great desserts, instead of trying to capitalize on 'everything chocolate'. Their lemon berry marscapone cake was *amazing*!!! Come to think of it, i didnt taste the lemon very much, I guess i'll have to try it again to be sure!! ;o))) everyone at the table had a bite and loved it!! and they even have fun salads that are GREAT! Like "Jess's favorite" which includes strawberries and coconut crusted chicken tenders on top of mixed greens and tossed with poppy seed dressing!! the only drawback is that they dont offer their dinner entrees at lunch time. so if you want steak and pasta, you will have to go later in the day. I cant wait to go back!! :o)

We have always eaten lunch at the Houlihan's across the street but this time I decided we should try something different on our regular fall shopping excursion in Hershey. After reading through the reviews on Yelp, I selected The Grill. We arrived early for lunch and the restaurant was half-filled ( it was completely filled when we left), so we had great service from our friendly server. After checking out the menu we decided on the chicken noodle soup for the day and two Philadelphia subs, one steak and one chicken, and the signature salad with chicken, coconut and strawberries over a bed of greens with the almost famous poppy seed dressing. The soup was flavorful and fresh but it needed some pepper to give it a bit of a zing. Also it needed to be a bit hotter but I did not send it back because we were in a hurry to shop. The sandwiches were large and filled with beef and chicken. However the bread was a bit overwhelming and some of it was left on the plate as only a carboholic could eat a roll that size. My salad was good. There were four plump pieces of coconut chicken (white meat), some deliciously sweet strawberries and a bowl of ok greens sprinkled with almonds and moist coconut. If the greens had been fresher and greener, this would have been a 5 star salad. The poppy seed dressing was odd. It was sweet and oily with lots of poppy seeds on the bottom. I could not imagine pouring this dressing over my salad as the food was sweet enough with the coconut and berries. Overall the food was good and I decided to give this a 4 star because it was not the usual commercial food, and the service was excellent. A little attention to the details and this could have been a 5 star lunch. There is a patio outside where diners can eat in nice weather. This is a nice feature. The restroom was in the back, hidden away and was clean and well stocked. This matched the overall cleanliness of the restaurant inside and outside.

Stopped by here after visiting Hershey's Chocolate World, after someone had recommended the salad with strawberrys and poppy dressing. Friendly reception and wait staff and pretty good food. The salad was definitely tasty and to me the coconut they added was a nice finishing touch. I had the delmonico steak, which was good, but a little peppery for my taste. If I was in the area I'd definitely go back for another try.

We were quoted a 20 minute wait and were sat in 10, no complaints! Menu has many options which is great for a group traveling together. I had the caprese salad and it was awesome. Others had a wrap of some sort and a shrimp pasta, and also loved their meals. We didn't love our server, Starr. She was a bit of a snarky snot.

Went here with friends who found it through Trip Adviser. We all absolutely loved it. Parking was a little cramped and there was a short wait for a table, but once we ordered our food came very quickly, it was fresh, all the orders were correct and Everyone was more than satisfied with their food. Personally, mine was absolutely amazing, as was the draft chocolate stout (which went particularly well with the complimentary Hershey kisses handed out with the bill) The building was clean and tidy, music was pleasant and at a nice level. Our waiter was perfect, just attentive enough without being annoying, and we never were left waiting for him when we needed something. Their in-house kettle cooked chips were out of this world. So amazing. I'd go back just for those. SO good. If you're in Hershey for the day, definitely give this place a try!

We came to the grill after visiting The Hershey Museum. It has modern decoration but gives a diner feel. Dont let this impression deter you. I ordered the spinach salad with goat cheese and poppy seed dressing. It was awesome. Fresh and delicious. My hubby ordered chicken pecan salad and loved it. My daughters ordered pizza. Looked decent. They have a pretty impressive kids menu too. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Made a reservation for 7 on line during the day. Arrived and waited a about 10 mins for our table. I recommend reservations because then place was very busy even on a Monday evening. Several groups left while waiting I had the cocoa dusted salmon. It was very good and served hot and fresh. The spinach and artichoke sauté was hot fresh and tasty . My friend had the veal Oscar. It looked great as well and he devoured it. I guess he liked it The place looks like an older Burger King from the outside but inside its very quaint with tables and booths in 2 separate rooms. There is also outside dining All in all a great place that I will return to

The Chocolate Avenue Grill is an around great place that manages to serve quality food yet remain casual enough for park goers and families to enjoy. Gotta give a nod to the top notch service right off the bat, as our waitress was especially enthusiastic and engaging. The appetizers feature a tasty array of hummus, with enough to go around. Then there's the Seafood Springrolls, starring an intriguing contrast of crab meat and black raspberry chipotle sauce, more subtle than expected but a revelation just the same. The succulent Baby Buco's are the rock stars though, tender and juicy enough to shock anyone expecting a casual snack out of their culinary doldrums. The entrée round included tasty citrus shrimp, choice scallops and good brisket that was upstaged by a side of straight-up yummy corn fritters. And if all that wasn't all, they make a mean mojito and iced cappuccino. Anyone just in town for a few days should definitely put this place on the must-do list and locals should make it a staple.

Excellant food, great for kids, obviously it has to be since it's across the street from Hershey park. My 2 yr old won't sit still in any restaurant, but the Wikki Stix they give the kids along with toys they can take to the table are great.

Terrible customer service! After calling ahead to see if I could make a reservation I was told initially that they only accepted reservations for half their restaurant. I explained I was with a large group and the women I spoke with asked me to hold on to "see what she could do". When she returned to the phone she said they could accommodate us outside right away or we would need to wait a half hour to sit inside. I told her we would sit inside and would be there shortly. Upon arriving about 20 minutes later we were than informed that we would need to wait another 40 minutes. I explained that I had just called and spoke to someone who said they could sit us in a half hour form when I called they basically acted like this conversation never happened. Since we were with a very hungry small child we decided we needed to get her something and told them we would not be staying. As we were leaving a few of my party were further back than I was and overheard the staff discussing us and our accents and actually witnessed and heard one of the staff going out to check out our plates to see where we were from. Mind you no one with me raised their voice or caused any scenes. The only thing we did was question why we were told one thing on the phone and something totally different when we arrived. I guess they have no respect for the tourists who help support this establishment. To say the least I will never frequent this restaurant again .

Expresso martini blew my shoes off and tasted so sexy it made me want a cigarette after I finished it. Had the seared tuna for an appetizer, my girlfriend enjoyed the pork shank (i don't know the real name but it is slooow roasted pork on the bone), and I had the Steak Florentine. Flavor explosion in your mouth. When eating here prepare to board the fast train to Tastytown. And the service was good to!

Awesome dining experience!!! The wait was a little long (about 40 min.) but I can see why ---people like coming here because the service is very friendly and the food is great! They made up for the wait though...they gave us free desserts for everyone in our party. Try the cheesecake and creme brulee. Yummy!!! I tried the local chocolate beer on draft and really enjoyed it. It's a dark beer that tasted sweet with a hint of cocoa. The Delmonico steak dinner was delicious and cooked perfectly as I've ordered. They even offer steak in the kids menu. My son thought his steak was awesome. If I live in this neighborhood, I think I'll be a regular customer here --- most definitely!

We had 2 of the best Chicken Sandwiches ever. We ordered the Black and Bleu Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries and the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich with regular fries. Amazing! Best meal I had since leaving home! Everyone in the party loved what they ordered. I had the Jess's Favorite Salad. I didn't even know I liked lemon poppy seed dressing but I discovered it is amazing! The coconut battered chicken in the salad was excellent. Service was great!!! The Greek wrap was another standout in the crowd. I wanted to try the chocolate stout but we were driving home right after lunch. Next time, and YES there will be a next time.

While spending the weekend in the Hershey area, my wife and I decided to give this place a shot. I must say that I think Hershey definitely lacks dining options. As we approached this place around 7pm on a Friday with no reservation, I said to my wife let's not even try to go in since there appeared to be a ton of people waiting for a table. She talked me in to going in, and much to my surprise, we didn't even have to wait at all for a table for two. Once again, my wife was right and I was wrong. As far as the decor goes, pretty cool place and they are definitely going for a little bit of the trendy vibe. Our waitress came over to greet us and I initally thought that the service was going to be great. Unfortuantely, the service ended up not being that great. I think she may have forgot about our area as the time passed. The place does have a bar which is nice, but they only had 3 beers on tap - and 2 of them were local microbrews. I decided to go with the Sam Adams seasonal they had on tap. My wife and I decided to skip the appetizer since both salads and bread came with the meal. The rolls that came out first were actually very soft and good. I went with the caesar salad prior to my meal - it was decent, a little dry but not terrible. For my meal, I went with the Plum Sesame Grilled Tuna and asked for it cooked rare. The fish itself was very good and cooked perfectly. I enjoyed it a lot. A nice piece of tuna cooked to your liking always makes a great meal. I wasn't huge on the seaweed type salad that came with the meal or the grilled pineapple. I liked the fish a lot but wasn't huge on the side dishes that came with it. My wife had the crab cakes and she said they were very good. The coconut risotto that came with her meal was very bland, I thought. For the type of place this is and for the dishes they serve, I thought everything was very reasonably priced. Overall, I think this place has great potential but I feel like they are just kind of missing something. If the service had been better, then I might feel differently. The food was good (the most important part for a restaurant). I did enjoy myself here and if I was in the area again, I would probably give this place another shot.

I ate here with my sister a few months ago when she was visiting from out of town and we loved our burgers. We went back this weekend and it was as good as we remembered. Everything we had -- burgers, chicken fingers, salad -- was delicious and beautifully served. The service was very good both times.

Don't expect all chocolate by the name of this restaurant. But do expect some delish dishes. We were afraid we wouldn't find a parking space on Chocolate Ave., but were glad to see a decent sized (20-25 cars) parking lot in the rear of the restaurant. Our party of 8 + 1 toddler arrived here around 9:00 pm as walk-ins on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was pretty empty with about 4-5 tables occupied. Walking into the entrance located on the side of the restaurant, will be the hostess. To the right is a casual seating area with about 10-15 tables. In the front, which is a little nicer with ~10 tables. For those looking to dine outside, there are ~10 tables with heater lamps located in the front. We chose to sit in the front of the restaurant. The hostess was very accommodating and quick on combining several tables together and asked if we need a high-chair or booster seat for the child. We were seated within minutes. The ambiance is pretty casual and cozy, with ceiling to floor glass windows in the front, metal rimmed tables with laminate tops (similar to what you would find at a diner), and wooden chairs. They could have easily put white cloths on the tables to give it a more formalized look, but I felt right at home. Not too rich and not too scanty. Service was superb here, with our waitress taking the time to explain dishes and specials of the day. She even added quite a bit of easygoing humor to make us feel more at home. Throughout our meal, the waitress came by many times in an unobtrusive way to see if we ever needed anything and to check if all our drinks, appetizers and entrees were satisfactory. I couldn't have asked for better service, she never hesitating to get us anything that we needed. For my entree, I ordered a Water Gap Wheat beer ($3-$4), and the BBQ Mango Chicken ($16.99) which is pan-seared chicken breast glazed with a mango BBQ sauce and topped with roasted corn and sweet onion salad accompanied by coconut basmati rice blend. Included with my entree was choice of salad or soup which I chose a Caesar salad. Complimentary bread was brought out right after we ordered, fresh and hot. And boy, was the bread delicious. I don't know if we were just hungry after a full day at the amusement park, but we all thought the bread was very fresh and tasty. In about 3-5 minutes, our appetizers came out and I was pleasantly surprised at the portions of my Caesar Salad. Not only were the portions large, but mmmmm delicious!! The Caesar dressing was perfectly balanced, not too salty and not overly sour (lemon). The salad and parmesan cheese were very fresh. Entrees only took about another 10 minutes to come out, to which I was very surprised for a party of 8. My BBQ Mango Chicken was served on a white square dish, with 2 thin-medium pieces of chicken. The chicken was pretty tender and ever so slightly dry, but easily gone unnoticed with the sweet and tangy mango BBQ sauce. Yum!! The roasted corn, sweet onion and basmati rice blend was also quite delicious. I have to say I wasn't disappointed at all. I also had a chance to try two other dishes. The Garden Ravioli which was spinach and ricotta cheese stuffed ravioli ($15.49) tossed in a basil pesto broth with sautéed yellow squash, roma tomatoes and asparagus was very good too. Included with the ravioli was a basket of garlic bread, about 6-8 decent-sized pieces. The garlic bread topped with melted provolone and parmesan cheese was to-die for as everyone was quite indulged. And don't forget to dip it in the side of marinara sauce. You won't be disappointed! The other dish I tried was the Key West Scallops ($23.99) which are Key West seasoned sea scallops (4 large) with lemon, basil and thyme, over a toasted almond and pineapple risotto and sauteed asparagus. I'm not a very big fan of sea scallops as I find many restaurants to under or overcook them, but these sea scallops were perfectly cooked, far from being chewy. It would just break apart in your mouth. I only had a small piece, which left me wanting more. For dessert, we all split a piece of Peanut Butter Melt Away Pie ($5.00) which is a velvety smooth peanut butter pie, glazed with dark chocolate atop a chocolate cookie crust. This piece was decently sized, similar to what you would find at Cheesecake Factory. The pie was pretty good, though I was not overly amazed, probably because I was so full. Overall, I was very impressed with the service and attention, as well as the dishes. Initially, I thought the dishes to be quite pricey, but was easily convinced otherwise because of the decent salad proportions. Beers were all pretty cheap, all averaging between $3 and $4. There's not a lot to eat in the town of Hershey, but I definitely recommend any Yelper to try this place out. Note: Two of our party members chose to split the ravioli, which charges a $4 plate-sharing fee, but included two salads, which I thought was well-worth the $4 for the decent sized salad portions.

This place is just so hit or miss. Both with the food and the service. I really love the modern style decor and the outdoor seating is nice even though the view is of Hersheypark and not the rolling hills of PA. Family came in from DC for the weekend and we had plans to check out the new Troegs Brewery and a Hershey Bears game. Dinner before hand was a must. My wife is Greek and it was her family that was in from DC so we thought this place would work. We have been to the Grill twice before in the past (one for resturaunt week) and the outcome was good. Upon being seated we were handed lunch menus and it was 4pm. Seems a little late for lunch at that point. So our waitress got us dinner menus. The entire ordering process took a very very long time. Our waitress would walk by our table multiple times without taking our order or asking what we wanted to drink and it wasnt that busy being it was an early dinner. I ordered the steak forentine medium. I am not sure what kind of cut this meat was but it reminded me of a pot roast meat. And it wasnt pink at all in the middle. It had flavor and was tender though. The random globs of mozzerella were great to eat with the steak as well. The actual pasta noodles were awful. Def not homemade pasta and def undercooked. The major downfall of this dish is the amount of garlic that is used. I like strong flavors and bold taste but the amount of garlic in this got to an absurd level. After I finished the steak it was hard to finish the rest of the meal. The Spanikopita was pretty good. Not grandmas but it was good! Ive had better meals at this place but I cannot give it a positive review. When you have family in and you want to take them to a decent place you expect that place to not make you look like a fool. The meal took 2.5 hours from start to finish for 6 people. Thanks to the absurd service.

Everyone has hit the main points already. Pro's: Quality food, nice quick service, perfectly fitting vibe/atmosphere. Mini-con: small waiting area...it is what it is.

My wife and I stopped over in Hershey at the end of our first leg of a 1100 mile drive. We chose this restaurant based on yelp recommendations, and we were not disappointed. Although we had a reservation, it took about 30 minutes to seat us. My wife got the Pittsburgh Steak salad. I had not seen steak and fries on a salad before. The steak was juicy and tender. Fries on a salad is unique but not necessarily enjoyable to our palates. Wednesdays is Greek night, so I got the Greek steak special that consisted of two tenderloin medallions served with grilled zucchini and something else (can't remember exactly what it was). Both the zucchini and the mystery side (maybe sweet potato fries?) were better than average. Steak was good and covered in Tzatziki. If decor and atmosphere are high values for you, then you might consider another place. But if you go to a restaurant to eat, then we definitely recommend this place.

The Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches were phenomenal! The chocolate martini was pretty good, too. We were accidentally able to go to Hershey due to lost luggage. What a great way to spend a few hours!

It was worth the wait! Everything we had was amazing. Best burger and Philly cheesesteak I've tried in a while. Each one in our 9 people party had something different and all praised how good everything was! Service was absolutely great!

If you are ever in Hershey,PA don't miss this place. We'll go back next time we're here!!

Get the goat cheese salad. The boy loved the kid steak. Way better than what we ate in the park yesterday.

3 and 1/2 stars. I thought it was fine. The Chocolate Stout homebrew was okay too. We had a chicken wrap with pesto and clam chowder. Nothing to write home about, but a solid place to have a good meal.

Both were amazingly delicious and were very filling. The service was great although a little slow. This place is going to be a regular stop for us from here on.

We were not expecting much given the fact that there is usually crap food in touristy amusement park towns, but what a welcome surprise! Everything was fabulous the first night when we ordered takeout, so we went in and dined the next night.

First impressions not to bad nice vibe though then some of my wife's chicken wings where under cooked. Kids had something nice like steak tips which they liked. I went with a decent Caesar salad. Not bad place to finish off a FUN night at Hershey park!! Hummer hdk

It was one of the most adorable experience here in US. The whole environment was delicious and amazing. The owner came to our table and she was very kind and friendly. The service by Ms. Naiomy who was very keen and adorable. Experience I'll never forget Thank you so much for your hospitality

OMG! Delicious!

  • R P.

A nice place that lives up to it's well deserved reputation. Good food, accommodating service, fine location and facilities. It is a crossover between a grill/bar and family restaurant. An easy choice when looking for a bite to eat or a special night out.

Reasonably priced, delicious food, nice environment. We had the south of the border salad and Tuscan chicken sandwich. Both were exceptional and we would definitely come back here again!

  • Kara L.

  • Chris M.

Wasn't terrible, but didn't live up to expectations. Expensive and the food was okay but nothing to rave about.

I was wrong. it rocked.

  • Andrea L.

After searching yelp for a dinner location with good food and reasonable prices we settled on Chocolate Avenue Grill. We ordered sangria for the table which was good.

I don't think you can go wrong by choosing to eat here. Everything I've had was delicious.

I went there for a friend's birthday dinner on weekday and our group had a satisfying experience. Our server was very accommodating and friendly. I would recommend the chocolate beer because it's makes the trip worthwhile!
