Hidden Pearl in PA. Listen I eat all over the place and when it comes to steaks I know my shit. This joint is grilling up some great steaks. I wasn't surprised to learn that the owner Peter is a CSI grad. That training comes thru in his food. We probably spent over 200 including tip for drinks and food fit for a king and a queen. With that said it's not cheap but they do have a happy hour with discounted apps and drinks. So if money is tight come then. We ordered, shrimp cocktail, fried mozzarella, smoked prime rib, porterhouse, filet mignon and two pizzas to go for the kids. The fried mozzarella app was one if the best I've ever had. It had a nice garlic flavor and guess what, it's homemade. You get comp bread and it comes with a dry mix that you combine with olive oil just like Carrabas. Big difference, this one is better. Why? Because the addition of the red pepper flakes in the dry mix gave a good punch to the flavor. Plus he used different spices because his mix had a light color to it. Very good. I asked the chef to pick out the best cut of steak they had and I would order it. Next I knew, the chef comes out with a nice porterhouse and showed it to me. Looks great, I'll take it. We get salads with the meals which were good and I bet they make their own croutons. They didn't taste store bought. So our main course comes out, damn it looks good. My steak was cooked perfect medium and it didn't need any sauce or salt/pepper. Another sign of a great steak. I tasted a piece of the smoked prime rib and I swear I heard angels singing. Outstanding taste and some of the best prime rib I've ever had. We took the pizzas home and the kids loved them. Service was perfect. Mary was our first server and she has worked there over three decades. You could tell she loved working there even though they changed owners. I really enjoyed chatting with her. So What the hell is Peter doing here ? LOL he needs to come to South Florida where we live. This restaurant is the real deal and if you live here, your lucky. If you are visiting you MUST come here. I highly recommend this place. Remember to tell Mary I heart her and Peter that Dan sent you. Stay Hungry!

Never did make it here while it was Pavones. Always had the notion, but never seemed to follow through. Got to the Manor recently though. Decided on afternoon that I was going to go before it changed hands again. Naturally I perused the menu online beforehand and I was immediately excited when I saw Gator Bites listed as an appetizer. I had only ever had them once before (at Knoebels Grove) and I loved them! This time not so much....they were tough and didn't have much flavor. The calamari is your standard fried with marinara, but the bacon wrapped scallops are to die for! For entrees we tried the cheese steak, crab cakes, stuffed chicken breast. The steak sandwich was alright and the fries were good too. The crab cakes were tasty as well. My chicken breast was stuffed with prosciutto that had a bit of a kick to it and the whole thing was topped with melted goat cheese. Our meals were pretty good and the waitress was friendly, but overall I don't see myself going back of my own accord. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. Tried it and crossed it off my list. Might stop in now and then to see what specials are cooking.

The food was good. The place and atmosphere are very nice. The service could've been a lot better.

We stopped at the Holiday Inn Express on I81 after driving up from Lexington KY. We asked the receptionist for a local recommendation since we like to avoid chain restaurants. She sent us here. It wasn't very crowded for a Saturday night but the bartender said it picks up after dark. The menu looks great and the specials were awesome. Normally only one special appeals to me but I could have ordered every one. I ended up with the seafood special. It contained a split lobster tail, 4 scallops, lots of shrimp, mussels, and clams over a bed of pasta with a nice buttery sauce that also has lots of fresh tomatoes. It was one of the best things I've had in a long time. Wife got a nice piece of chicken over home made wide pasta. That was tasty too. For dessert, we each got a glass of a nice Pinot Noir that was recommended by the owner sitting at the end of the bar. We normally don't stop at this exit in our trips between KY and NH, but I think we found a new favorite. We'll certainly try to come back again. Anybody in the area to visit Hershey Park or just stopping for the night on the highway has to come here.

I was told that this place had great wings...which surprisingly they do! There is a bar area and a restaurant area, both of which are clean and efficient (not dive-y at all!). The prices are a bit on the higher side for the type of food that is served, but they have daily specials that aren't so bad. I did order a side of onion rings...and was disappointed that they only gave me 5 onion rings :( But alas, the food was not bad, the place is super clean, they have a decent beer selection and the service is friendly :) Not too bad for a random restaurant on the side of 39 (Hershey Rd).

Had lunch with two colleagues yesterday at The Manor. I base my review rating on the food alone. The ambience was nice enough inside, although service seemed hit or miss for our crew. I really enjoyed being a little confused over the menu choices. Lots of sandwich, salad and burger options. A pizza that came out and hit the table next to us looked awesome. I decided to get the burger (Angus beef) w/ the braised short rib on it. I cut the burger in half to ensure it was cooked correctly. (I ordered it medium) The burger was cooked just a slightly north of where I ordered it, but didn't merit a send back. Best of all though, was the braised short rib sitting atop of my burger. I sampled a piece. Wow. At a future visit, I am going to order the sandwich of this alone. It was fantastic. One of my colleagues got a Greek salad and it looked great. A generous slice of feta cheese and some stuffed grape leaves to boot. Hope these folks pay attention to the other stuff (service, cleanliness, etc..). If they do, they'll win over a new set of fans that miss the old place.

Excellent food and service in the bar area. I have never eaten in the dining room. However the risotto balls were amazing and so were the fries. Pizza was not shabby either We have eaten here before and typically have not been disappointed. It was literally not crowded when we went in and within 20 minutes it was packed and there was only one server....Bill was outstanding and attentive despite the crowd.

This place came highly recommended by the hotel staff at the Springhill Suites. The food, while not fantastic, was fresh and well seasoned. The place is a little dumpy, but you'll quickly get over that when you're greeted by the super nice staff. I shouldn't have been shocked that the only veggie entrees they had were salads, we were in Hershey after all. I had the Fried Walnut and Panko-crusted Goat Cheese Salad and it was very tasty and satisfying. I recommend it. My friend said she enjoyed her buffalo chicken sandwich, but it looked tasteless and dry to me (shrugs). I'm not sure if I'd come back, maybe if I'm in the mood for a salad...

we were passing through the area and the hotel desk clerk said food was "great" and the place was a local favorite so we decided to try it. sat at the bar, and after the bartending woman got done talking to her friends she asked what we wanted.... the went into a long conversation re: her (considerable) drinking habits. strange..... several different draft beers, place looked clean. we had an order of calamari (1/2 price apps. at happy hour) ...they were good. my friend ordered greek salad (canned stuffed grape leaves) and i had pasta with "homemade" sausage. both dishes were ok, but nothing special. if i were in the area i'd probably try another place...although good places to eat in that part of harrisburg look pretty scarce. happy trails (really about 2 3/4 stars...not "meh", but....just ok).

Disclaimer: I miss Pavones! Pavones was the restaurant where you bring your parents when they fly in from Florida. Pavones was where you went before hockey games especially when you wanted a good burger or hot sub. Pavones was the place to have a prime rib on your birthday. I really miss Pavones. The manor is a redecorated and very clean restaurant which normally would sell me on the new management however our favorite menu items are gone replaced by far pricier fare and the waitstaff is now stretched to accommodate the new and curious patrons so it's no longer an enjoyable experience. I've given it four tries. They still haven't fixed the wi-fi and my once decent and fair bar tabs now reflect the costly new decor.

My girlfriend and I came on a Sunday around 6:30 and split the cranberry and goat cheese salad and the pesto chicken pizza. Both were delicious and our server was terrific. We would definitely come back...

Have been here several times, overtime cannot complain about the food at all. The brisket sandwich, pulled pork, pizza and burgers are all great. Soup of the day has also been good. One complaint is with service. It is highly inconsistent. On 2 separate occasions, the wait staff blamed the slow service on the kitchen. Not sure what the issue is, but it is annoying when you are the only table in the restaurant and order a cheese pizza and a burger and the burger comes out 20 minutes before the pizza. Just weird, but the food is good.

I have been back here a few times. Always friendly service and great food. Try the fried mac n' cheese. Stop in from 5-7pm for happy hour with half price apps and drink specials.
