This is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant in Harrisburg! While, I'm not a big fan of their buffet side, the take out side is delicious. The fried scallops and shrimp fried rice is every bit as good as my little place back in Queens and their shrimp curry has great flavor. They also offer very reasonable lunch special prices. If you're really fiending for Chinese BUFFET - Go to Grand on 22, trust me on this!

Lunch special was $6 plus cost of soda @ $3. The buffet seemed to be bare bones minimum, I supposed because lunch is slow since the place was practically empty. Waitress was pleasant and somewhat inappropriately rude at the same time. Service was good but prior to leaving we left about a $10 tip for a small group of six but waitress seemed to stand around waiting for more of a tip (her counting our tip in front of us was an indicator of that). A relative felt obligated and gave her another $3 despite my objection. Food wasn't bad but the selection could have been better, then again for the lunch special I guess beggars can't be choosers. Wife & I love to frequent these places and this place just didn't blow us away; it was just ok. I would not steer clear of this place but it wouldn't be my first option if there are others in the area.

DON'T GET THE CHICKEN WINGS! I ordered 4 Wings & Chicken Fried Rice. Once home, opened the container and the wings were small, unusually small; they look like the wings from a large Cornish Hen...really! My husband was stunned, in the past they had regular size wings and the price was lower too. This General Tso seemed ok; it was overly breaded and drowning in "sticky" sauce...he he accepted it. I went back to request; (1) a different batch of wings, (2) additional wings, or (3) my money back. The lady went O-F-F on me, I was stunned! She said, "you left with and now bring back", I replied, Yes, it's take-out! I reminded her that we have been coming here (Take-Out NOT Buffet...which was closed down 6mos ago for lack of business, per her statement) for 8 years and you can't accommodate this request with 3 options! The customers (men at the time) were shocked at the wing size and her response. Fast forward, the police were called and said it was a civil matter and to report it to the Atty General Office & BBB. When I left, I heard her say, in clear english, "watch she tell them food poisoning"...I smiled (inside) and left. I did report MY COMPLAINT to the applicable agencies, including the Board of Health, since there is NO SafeServe Certificate posted in public view. I had a culinary/restaurant background, I know suppliers, and clearly they, Chinese restaurant, change there wing order to "seconds", scraps you use for stocks/soups, then up the price. The rudeness and arrogance of this person, clearly told me and the other customers, MONEY is their Motivator; RESPECT for Customers & Product isn't even on the list. Needlessly to say, they will NEVER get my money again! STAY AWAY, THEY DO NOT RESPECT YOU!

Went here after a craving for Chinese food took control over me. I've been here before in the past, and never had a TERRIBLE experience, or a GREAT experience. It's a small and cheap buffet, never crowded, and not a huge selection. To get to the point, we left after one trip to the buffet. At nearly 5 months pregnant, I have never felt unsafe eating somewhere until my visit here. The food was not hot, so I'm sure it wasn't being kept at a safe temperature. Most of the selections were bare, and nobody was making any moves to restock or refresh anything. We approached the owner, and while she offered to make anything on the menu for us, I just felt really uncomfortable eating anything from the kitchen (especially after my complaint). She was not budging on offering us to leave without having to pay, so I finally had to get straight to the point with her and tell her the food was not being held at the proper temperatures. Well, she very quickly rushed us out the door for that comment!

It seems ridiculous to review this place. I don't know what someone would expect from a Chinese buffet next to what I think used to be a Big Lots, but it was gross. I went there exclusively out of convenience and I paid the price. Ten bucks for a collection of fried, unidentifiable food with a total of two vegetables (green beans and broccoli) so saturated in grease and MSG that my stomach did backflips for the rest of the night. The carpets don't look like they've ever been cleaned, unless they use the remaining grease from the buffet trays to do so and the ice cream bar is do-it-yourself hand-dip style. That means half of Harrisburg is allowed to stick their hands in the vats right before you, but I don't even know why they would bother because half the ice cream was melted and runny. This would only get five stars if Yelp was dedicated to finding locations where your wife wouldn't think to look for you with your mistress.

Just called to place a small order. She told me they were closed. When I asked why they were closed early and stated the time listed on menu, she said "because we work." wtf is that about? I work too but wouldn't refuse a customer because "I work!" morons! you guys are better off going elsewhere and getting good customer service!

When it is cold and you want decent wonton soup this is an ok place to go. Still looking for a better Chinese takeout place but this one is ok for now.

This place is the bomb!!! It's cheap. The bars are plentiful with a lot of variety. They have crab legs! The service is good. The outside of the building could use some touching up as could the inside. But I am always way happy to gorge myself here :-)

The Mt. Dew was the BEST! The selection on buffet was terrible! No vegtables, rice in warmers was burned, food was Cold! No sesame ckn, no chow mein, no burbon chicken, egg rolls and spring rolls were tough, tiny and cold had 3 differnt pans of broccoli chicken out of only about 20 pans on buffet total, except desert buffer that's plentifully stocked with red jello. Gave them a star because the fountain drink was that good and they kept the refills coming

unfortunately I have to disagree with the others. The few items I got here were bland. Also, I drove especially out of the way to go here recently to get their chow mein because in the past they used lots of celery which I like. Got home and to my surprise, no celery at all. Not sure if they forgot it or changed the recipe. There is not much to chow mein and it's pretty hard to mess up but I had a bowl of chicken, onions and a bland white sauce. Also got chicken and broccoli and had to doctor it up with salt/pepper and soy sauce to get some flavor out of it. The low mein was overly greasy as well. While I respect the others reviews, this has not been my experience.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
