The food tastes great, the portions and price are great. Everything is fresh - the toppings, the salsa and the chips. They have a "frequent shopper card". They have great sweet tea. I have 2 concerns. The staff isn't always conisistant. I'm guessing its a training/leadership thing. And the glass counter, windows and fixtures are not clean...sort of greasy due to all the steaming. Overall - I can see past all that for a great quesadilla, taco or burrito. They also cater - a great, creative, differnt source for a business lunch!

I love this place. My first time here was on a Sunday -"taco Sunday" as the sign announced which means one dollar tacos with a drink. The sign also said they serve free range chicken. Ever try shopping for free range anything? Very expensive! So what a happy day it was for my "eat clean" body. Two tacos, a drink, and warm Nacho chips with my pick of five salsas all for less than 4.00. I'm coming back!

The food is good, and the restaurant is clean. I love the sweet tea, the chips and queso. A reasonably priced meal in a laid back atmosphere.

As a vegetarian living in a non veg friendly area, this is one of the few places I can eat that isn't pizza. They have tofu options and the food is actually pretty good. Friendly management and I'm stuffed when I leave.

Yumm...I've got to hand it to this place, their burritos are quite delish! I've gotten their Homewrecker burrito and one of their quesadillas. Their burritos are filling and they are HUGE! Plus you get to basically build you're own burrito or whatever it is that you get from here. You'll definitely get your moneys worth.

Ehh, middle of the road, Burritos are OK, (but perhaps I need to lower my Mexican expectations in Pennsylvania. Moe's is a wannabe Chipotle but not quite there, not bad but not great, and I would say that he tortillas are steamed but barely heated. You wind up with a semi hot burrito in a cold Shell. I will try the Fajitas to see if there is any improvement. Salsas aren't bad, with the $2.00 off coupon on-line and the plasma TVs, it's an OK place for a bite if you work in the area. Wouldn't go out of my way to get there though.

I dig'em and their nachos. there are only few Moe'ians that but love in the nachos though. I dont remember their names but its a pretty black girl. I come here on payday fridays because it is a little over priced but still the $hit!

Decided to try the place after seeing it on undercover boss. First off, no "welcome to moe's" for my wife and I plus the next 3 customers who came in. The place looked liked it needed a paint job and s good cleaning. Certainly not like the places I saw on the show. The food was just ok. I had expected more. Both the steak and pork we ordered were scraped from the bottoms of the containers they keep the ingredients in. I wasn't too happy about getting the last of the dozen or so pieces of steak that were left. Plus of the 5 types of salsas located by the soda station 3 were empty. I may try another moe's but not this location.

This used to be the go to place for my friends and I to get a quick meal that was a great deal. Still love their Funkmiester Taco Sundays (3 tacos and a drink for just around $5 plus tax is a great deal) and Moe Mondays (Burrito for about $7) Queso is amazing as well and their nachos are great. Despite the deals, the service recently is far from what it used to be. The new servers seem uninterested in their jobs, like it's a chore to serve the customers. Lots of times our burritos are poorly wrapped so they burst or fall apart when you take a bite. Tacos seem lacking as well. I'm not one to complain about overfilling ingredients but they're so full everything falls out and onto your tray. Make sure you have something under your entree cause it's sure to fall apart. The Coca-cola soda machine is nice but too often kids play with it, causing long wait times to get a drink. I liked the old soda foundation better but that's a minor complaint. We still stop in to eat now and then, but the friendly atmosphere isn't there anymore. Feels just like another fast food joint.

I guess if you need a quick meal that isn't super greasy this will do. First of all there is a menu board that in reality means nothing because you just go through the line and pick and choose what you want with not much of an idea what anything costs. My boyfriend and I both had a bowl, one side of guacamole, and one drink for just over $20 seems a bit much. The plus side is the pick your own salsa bar and one of those new age Coke machines. Food was a decent portion with free chips but had absolutely no taste. Not the fresh veggie taste you'd expect. Good thing for the free salsa because I used two cups of it on the bowl for some type of flavor. I'd say skip this place if you have the time and go to Chilli's or Neato Burrito on Paxton Street.

Man do I love moes. Clean eating and a cheery "welcome to moes" when you walk in. This is not that moes. Food on the floor and unclean tables. Its amazing the health department doesnt come in. The menu is wacky yes but the employees should know the names of their 5 items. A homewrecker burrito shouldnt need clarification. Yes I know it is "the big one". Lighting is terrible but then again I dont want to see the filth. End all - not coming back

This just reminded me of a Chipolte. I really don't see a difference. You stand in a line, order what you want, pay, take a seat. I think I got some bowl type thing. I don't even remember. I just know it wasn't horrible food. Must have not been great then because I usually don't forget. Anyway, they give you chips with their food and then after you pay they have a few sauces to choose from. I guess I'd come here again, last resort type thing? This place isn't really on my mind.

This Moe's has the distinction of being the only one on the East Shore side of Harrisburg. Unfortunately, they don't make the cut for me. The restaurant was dirty, air vents were disgusting, think layer of dust on top of the salsa bar, and trash cans overflowing. The staff at this location weren't overly accomodating... I ordered the "Earmuffs" bowl with chicken, which by default comes with guacamole. I asked if they could substitute queso instead, since they're the same price on the menu, but the head burrito maker behind the counter said they couldn't do that because cheese is more expensive than avacados. Unfortunately bad customer service and dead wrong, since, first, avacados actually cost more than the type of ingredients they have in their queso, and second, they put them on the menu at exactly the same price. I think this was just an employee who had no customer service training. Chips and salsa were equally as dissapointing, as the chips we got were soaking in grease since the person working the fryer did not drain them properly, and the salsa bar was out of half of the types of salsa. There were plenty of people working at this restaurant that if it were any other Moe's it'd be pristine. Unfortunately it looks like this one suffers from poor management, so next time I'm in the area, I think I'm going to be going to the burrito place that's right across from Bass Pro Shop instead.

Ran over for lunch. Ended up with a huge plate of nachos. By my estimation this place is way better than Chipotle and has many more options. I would be eating here more if it wasn't so far away. Try the peachtree soda. And the amazing salsa bar!

Just ate @ Moe's. The food quality was horrible!! Soggy taco shells from the grease on the meat, my husbands steak taco was cold. It's pricy for what you get. The tacos were thrown together like slop on a plate. Restaurant was dirty & customer service was meh. Salsa bar was dirty and food was thrown around it. I can't stress enough about the food. Greasy, cold, sloppy when put together. Will never eat there again. FYI: This is NOT Mexican, Southwestern or Tex-Mex food. Poor quality. Man if people here really knew what great Mexican food tasted like, you wouldn't eat here. We are from out of town & the east coast has nothing on the southwest.

WELCOME TO MOES!!! If your in the need of food in a hurry and don't want to go through a drive through, Moes Southwest Grill is the place to visit. The worst thing about them is they aren't in every state. I travel often and keep them on my radar, when there is a moss near by, you can bet I'll be there for lunch.

Went here recently to check it out. Very 'meh'. Customer service: poor Burrito: tasty but overpriced Bowl: very small and overpriced Burrito and bowl with soda = $19.00 Burrito and bowl at chipotle ( wayyyy more food, FYI) = $15.00 Chipotle kinda owns you.

I used to really enjoy Moe's, but the last few times I've been there, the quality of the food has proved to be "just another fast food place". I went tonight for takeout and ordered the John C combo. The cheese on the quesadilla had no flavor and the chicken was dry and chewy. This is definitely not the Moe's that I used to love! The service was friendly and the counters were clean, which is why I gave 3 stars; otherwise, I would've only given 2 stars.

Hit the door of most any Moe's and you will hear "Welcome to Moe's" which is short for "Welcome to Moe's Southwest Grill." This may of course seem obvious, but I point this out for the great number of people who write negatively about Moe's not serving Mexican food. Quite simply, Moe's is not a Mexican restaurant! Moe's offers a variety of southwest / tex-mex items including burritos that are more similar to Mission Style burritos than traditional Mexican fare. Ordering can be a bit confusing to newcomers as all of their items have rather odd names tied to somewhat obscure pop culture references. Once you've identified what you would like, ordering proceeds in a cafeteria line fashion and your food is assembled right in front of you. The chips included with each entree are not bad, but are definitely better if they are still warm. This particular location has recently done a small remodel including the salsa bar and the soda fountain area. The salsa bar (which includes 5 types of free salsa) is now a refrigerated unit with appropriate sneeze guards and definitely upgrades the former "bowls on ice" method, but the real attention getter in this upgrade is the soda fountain. The upgraded soda fountain is a newer piece of tech from Coca-Cola called the Freestyle which offers a touch screen and currently 126 flavor combinations. It is impressive to say the least and as it is not yet common place I am sure it will be a real eye catcher and crowd pleaser for quite some time. The one down side to the Freestyle is it has only one pour spout which I'm sure will slow things down during busy times, but it's still worth a burrito just to try this out! If you've never been to Moe's and just want to try it out on the cheap, they offer several specials throughout the week but the longstanding Sunday special is up to 3 tacos (chicken or beef) with rice or beans (black or pinto) and cheese, lettuce and pico for .99 each with the purchase of a drink. It's a great deal and they are nice and filling. "Welcome to Moe's!"

Came here about a week ago, ordered the Art Vandalay. Staff were polite, even though I got no big greeting upon entering. Dude! Where's my, "Welcome to Moe's!"? But anyways.. went to checkout and the woman tells me their server is down and they can't take cards. No biggie, I had cash, but I should have been told before ordering. Not so cool. Then back again this week, and arrived back at Moe's for dinner. Again I ordered the Art Vandalay. Only halfway though the making of my burrito am I informed that they are out of guacamole (one of the main AV ingredients). Again - would have been nice to know at the time I was ordering. I suck that up and move on to checkout, where I wind up waiting too long because the person in front of me wanted queso, which they were also out of but a new bag was being prepped. Then someone from the back brings out a big batch of fresh guac. Uh, what? But of course my 'rito is wrapped and bagged and I'm swiping my card.. too late. No one offers to fix my burrito. Bummer. And again, no big friendly greeting. Bottom line.. I gave it a second chance, but I don't think it will be getting a third.

THIS IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD - but it can be a decent belly filler for sure. Yes, it is all microwaved, yes it is mega generic - but its a chain, what did you expect? What sells me on this place? I can get a tofu burrito in no time. TOFU! That is unheard of - Q'doba doesn't do it, neither does neato burrito. The corn chips are greasy gross and I always toss them. The salsa sneeze bar is just disgusting, but I can get a tofu burrito in less than 5 minutes. That does please me.

This is Moe's Southwest Grill. Not Moe's Mexican Restaurant. Big difference, so please pay attention to what style of food a place claims to serve when writing reviews. Don't assume that they have tortillas so they are automatically attempting to be a Mexican place. Anyways, I digress... Moe's does a great job of serving Southwestern food in portions that do not look huge, but will fill you up! They offer sides of beans, rice, and queso, all of which are great. To top things off, all menu items are served with free tortilla chips and unlimited trips to their salsa bar featuring 6 different levels of heat and taste. Fantastic place for a work lunch or a dinner out! Dont hesitate to order the Jerry Bag of Donuts! Also, just so you know, the artwork on the walls are not pictures of actual celebrities, but look alikes. A fact that I did not know until my third trip, so they are pretty dang good! Awesome place, great atmosphere!

decent lunch time semi-fast food option. for about $9 (a little pricy for lunch IMO) i got the close talker which was a salad in a fried bowl with chicken, beans, and guac (there was an upcharge for guac). it was pretty good. made exactly how i wanted it and very fast. the free chips were on the stale side and the taco bowl was also not the freshest tasting, but it wasn't straight up bad either.

My son is always pleased to take a trip to Moe's. I've become a fan as well. I like being able to watch my food being prepared. This place has become a weekly destination for us.

I came in at 848pm and they close at 9. everything was about cleaned up. they made food for me and cleaned again. I like moes so they'd get a good rating regardless. kudos to sam and jasmine matt and anthony for not bitching and making me my burrito. i know its their job and all - but they never batted an eyebrow. i wouldve given a 5 star but matt turned by burrito into a quesadilla. it was really messy (but i still ate it)

    (4)
  • Jesse S.

Would give a higher rating but the food is just not consistent. It seems to really depend on who is working. One person was making food as if he was being timed and his life depended on finishing faster. The next time you could tell the lady was making food as if she herself were going to eat it. I can't give it less then a three star because when it's good it's amazing. Maybe they just need a little work on the food preparers.

was curious to compare this place to chipolte. Here is my take.. Cleanliness, winner is chipolte. The food bins at Moes were messy, dried food caked on the sides, just not overly clean and there was parts of some of the items in with the others such as bean juice dripping into the rice, cheese falling in other bins etc.. Chipolte everything is clean and neat. Selection- winner is Moes, more choices, a lot better selection of salsa/sauces. Chipolte needs more than just nasty tabasco sauce. Quality, edge to chipolte for the main food, salsa and sauces goes to Moes. Atmosphere. Moes much better. Calm music, tv's, quiet. No comparison here. Service- Chipolte..just a bit friendler and they had more workers so the line moves faster. Overall- Chipolte for me.. Moes is further and no reason to drive there when Chipolte is a bit better. Moes does have free chips and salsa but the total bill was about the same so its not really free. One last thing, Moes was a lot skimpier on the fixins, especially the meat. well Moes ended up being better than Chipolte...Chipolte is going down hill as far as service.. 1 star for Chipolte now...

The food here was terrible. This was my first experience at Moe's and unfortunately it was not a good one. The staff preparing our food seemed put out that they had to be there. The employee ringing us up was courteous and friendly, which was appreciated. As for the quality of the food, I couldn't finish mine as it wasn't even appetizing. The salsa tasted either like jarred salsa or nail polish remover. The best part of my meal was the chips and guacamole. Sadly, I'd rather eat at Taco Bell.

WELCOME to MOES!!!! I would travel across the ocean to see you Moe. This location was a little light on the ingredients in my Joey Bag of Donuts....I would agree with Michael O, but I heard it is a recession out there! See you soon!

"WELCOME TO MOE'S!" Moe's is a staple, quick, in-a-hurry, want-some-"Mexican" food restaurant. The prices are reasonable, the food prep is quick, and the food is pretty good. I've tried almost everything on the menu, but the one thing I keep coming back to is the JC Quesadilla with steak. The key to making it tasty is adding some sliced jalapenos. I tend to stay away from the burritos because they just don't compare to authentic Mexican burritos or even Chipotle. The deep-fried tortilla chips that come FREE with every meal are the key to Moe's success. They are pretty darn delicious especially when accompanied by the free salsa. I tend to get the tomatillo salsa most often. All-in-all, Moe's is a good place to grab some quick Southwestern/Mexican food when you have the craving.

I went to Moe's for lunch today, while in the area. It turned out to be alright. I wasnt too too impressed, the food was average, I wasnt expecting it to be insanely good, like the Taco truck, tacos mi tierra, nuevo mexico or herby's. It is billed as a southwestern grill. You go in and place your order, they add whichever toppings you select and then wrap it and you pay. there was a tip jar (actually a gasoline can) that said "gas money for our workers" The names or the items and signs and stuff were pretty funny & upbeat, I got a laugh out of them. There was a toppings bar that had salsa and the sign said "Who is kaiser salsa" (if you dont get that watch Usual Suspects) Ordered the overachiever combo with a medium drink, 9.29 and the joey combo w/ medium drink, 8.39. It was okay, I have seen coupons in the past in the clipper, but didnt use them (expired) If youre here for some other reason, its something OK, but dont go out of the way to try it.

Blech! From the package, to the microwave, to your plate! Seriously - had high hopes for this place, but I was beyond disappointed. Soggy, wet burrito disaster. The "salsa" and "hot" sauces = water + powder. Some of the worst "Mexican" inspired food I've had the displeasure of experiencing.

    (1)
  • Gina E.

I'm sorry, but YUK! Rice in a tortilla in a burrito? Uggghhh. It is so not Mexican. It is an American ball of confusion in a tortilla. Too many cold and hot things together. I hear a melody in the back round....Plop, plop, fizz, fizz. Oh what a relief it is (the Alka seltzer song).

**Pinto beans undercooked for the 5th time! Seems they have been putting less and less meat into the dishes - particularly compared to other locations. Unsweet tea was out for the 2nd time. This location needs to step it up a notch if they want to keep me from going to Chipotle. ** Welcome to Moe's!!! I love Moe's. This location I have been a bit disappointed with (hence, minus 1 star). On two occasions the pinto beans have been undercooked and hard. Other than that, great food at okay prices (pricey but big portions).

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
