Legendary doesn't always mean great. Wait staff were attentive and friendly. My friend ordered the Delmonico. His hands cramped up from sawing off the gristle. He poured A1 all over it because he said it has zero flavor. (He NEVER uses A1). 22 oz isnt such a super deal if only 1/2 of it is edible. I got the mixed grilled platter. The chicken and pork were dry, flavorless and inedible. It didn't help that they were swimming in a gallon of butter, either. I give this place 3 stars because despite the awful chicken, pork and low quality Del, the shrimp and scallops were fantastic. So basically, It'd rather spend $100 somewhere else.

Amazing huge steaks, great crab cakes, wonderful homemade blue cheese dressing- huge portions. Bring your appetite, you won't go home hungry. Steaks here are their speciality ! 5 stars all around

We have been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. The steak is always very good! The scallops are very big and delicious. I love the portabella with a crab cake on top. The prices are also decent.

My 3rd time here. 24 oz steak for $22.00. Great piece of beef. Comes with salad & potato. Highly recommended

The Glass Lounge is our go to steak place in Harrisburg. We love the steaks here and they are huge, nicely seasoned and 3 for 3 on correct doneness. The salads are fresh and the fries delicious Portions are very large. The ambiance reminds me of the movie roadhouse. It fills up quickly and gets loud. It's a great place to get a steak and a beer.

After a 35 min wait for a table, I ordered a steak salad and my friend got the fried seafood platter. We waited a while again until our food finally arrived. Oddly, they give you a whole dressing bottle for your table - we got ranch and italian and honestly, i didn't like either of them. The steak in my salad was juicy and cooked to the exact temperature I asked for (medium), and I love that it's a "Pittsburgh" salad and comes with fries on top. However, the salad was a bit lacking - my friends said it would come with tons of carrots, but I only got a few (while my friend's was loaded - luckily he was wiling to share). I also found a few limp and brown pieces of lettuce in mine. Jason's seafood platter was pretty good - the butterfly shrimp were huge and very crispy. The crab was succulent and contained no filler at all - AMAZING. Since my steak and onions were good, I would probably go back again when I'm in town. I'd skip the salad and go straight for a big steak though on my next visit.

Came back for some beer and burgers. My tab was $12.05. I threw in a 5 dollar tips. When I got my MasterCard bill, this place charged me $27.10. Maybe they're crooks, maybe they made a mistake. Either way, you mess with my wallet, you lose me.

Recommended by the hotel we're staying at as a "great place to eat"??? We ordered steaks, salad & baked potato and I have to say the salad was the best out of the 3 items. The portions are BIG but absolutely NO flavor... I didn't watch them cook the food but the steak tasted as if it had been BOILED, the potato has something like cheese-wiz on it and the butter they brought for the potato was frozen. The restaurant appears to have a good volume of customers, which surprises me... maybe it was an off night, but this was hands down the worst steak I have ever had. We did take the uneaten steaks home with us, and we noticed just about everyone left with a box, doggie-box to feed to the dogs!

Atmosphere and service - Nothing fancy, great customer service. The resturant had. Br area and a dining are. The dining area was not very large and can get pretty loud. Our server was very polite, friendly, and helpful. Awesome service. The bathroom was clean. Food Quality - I am from out of town and was a little disappointed with this resturant. There were a lot, and by a lot I mean a lot, of choices and you definitely get a large quantity for what you pay. I got the crab sandwich, which was flavorful, but nothing to brag about. The chicken noodle soup was comparable to other restaurants. My co worker got the steak and was only able to finish half of the 27 oz beast! Overall, the food was good, I felt like I got my money worth, but it was nothing worth going out of the way for. I am giving it 3 stars for average. An average resturant.

I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries, which were both great and very filling. The ambiance was casual and while it took a little while for our food to come out, it was worth the wait. The fries especially were wonderful, much better than your average fry!

Everything was fantastic. New york strip was the size of Long Island, was cooked perfectly. His burger n chips was huge n chips were overflowing. Bring ur aPpitiete Portion control dose not exists. Service was awsome, n that applies to the bus gals, whom even wraped my steak in a plastic bag. You will love it here.

A great steak! Visited for the 2nd time last night. Once you get past the impression provided by the physical looks of building (needs a coat of paint or two) you can have one of the best meals in the Harrisburg area. The steak was cooked to perfection and the portions are enough to share. Remember ignore your first impression. The clientele range from bikers to businessmen in 3-piece suits because the variety of food is plentiful. Highly recommended.

Saw it had decent reviews on here so thought we'd give it a try. Ordered a steak with mushrooms. Was probably one of the worst meals I've had. Mushrooms tasted like came out of a can an steak was over cooked an laid half submerged in liquid from the mushrooms. When I ask if this is how all the steaks were served all I got in responds was "yes" an server walked away

Steak is what the are suppose to do well, but both times it was fatty and no great. Had a burger their once too, but it was just ok. Too many better steak places out there to waste your money here.

Heard about this place from a friend. Looks like a Biker Bar that has been there forever. Steaks are amazing. My steak was too big for the plate! While you will pay for it, there is a good value for money.

Looks like your typical dive. However, has some of the best steaks in the area. And definitely not too expensive either. Do not judge this place on its looks, as it has great food.

my opinion is that 80-90% of most steak houses get it WRONG! the main culprit in these places is the clown that has no clue what temperature the steak is when he plates it... we wont even discuss cuts of meat! not a problem at The Glass Lounge! These guys know their Beef! So many cuts, sizes and choices that navigating the menu is a fun time killer! Dont forget to add the mushrooms on the side... I didnt order them the first time and have been kicking myself ever since. Dont worry about ambiance... just wait til you taste these steaks. My mouth is watering right now, and that's not a good thing at this time on a Sunday nite!

This is a roadhouse-sorta joint on the banks of the Susquehanna in Harrisburg. It looks like a seedy bar which over the years has extruded various shabby rooms filled with big, hungry locals looking for meat and plenty of it. At 6pm on a Saturday it was hugely crowded and conversation was definitely at the shouting level, Despite a reservation, our party of 8 was split into two tables. I ordered a porterhouse steak which as promised was over 20 oz. it was delivered in a battered old metal plate and was swimming in maybe a cup of melted butter. It wasn't perhaps the best steak I ever had, but it was edible and frickin huge. At 22 bucks it was quite reasonably priced. The salad was big and fresh and loaded with blue cheese. The fries were adequate. The beer was icy cold. Overall it was an enjoyable if unrefined experience. I'd recommend it if you want inexpensive huge-ass chunks o' meat, but not if you're looking for haut cuisine or an intimate evening with a debutant.

I took a trip to Harrisburg and I found this restaurant on Yelp. I love divey old school steak places, so this one looked like a winner. Wow, was I wrong. I got excited seeing a 24oz porterhouse stake for 20 bucks with sides so I ordered it. What a mistake. The steak was riddled with knots and gristle. It was almost unedible. My wife got the Delmonico and it was the same low quality. No seasoning either. I really wanted this place to be good, but it wasn't. I think this is one of those large portion, low quality food places that our grandparents love, because they used to eat crap food that was cheap, because of economic hardships. Spend a few extra bucks and just eat a real steakhouse. Don't spend 50-60 bucks for grade D beef. Sorry Glass Lounge, but your food is awful. Thanks

2.5 Stars..... Heard about this place for years. Figured since I live close by maybe I should try it. Went on a weekday for lunch with the wife. Now keep in mind, this place doesn't look like much from the outside. I knew this going in. Once you get inside, you will see that the inside pretty much matches the outside.......not much to look at. We arrived about 11:30 and there were a few patrons at the bar and the dining area was completely empty. We were seated immediately and greeted by a super friendly and helpful waitress. The kind of waitress that doesn't bother you when you eat, rather pays attention and shows up when you need something. Good job on her part. So we both ordered burgers and fries. One thing that dawned on me after I left was I was never asked how I wanted my burger cooked? I like med rare and what I received was medium to medium well.... The burgers were of normal size and the fries were fresh cut, but on the thinner side. Looking at the burger, I could tell it was cooked on a greasy flattop, but it wasn't itself greasy. It also had zero flavor. No salt, no pepper, no seasoning, no nothing. Fries were tasty with a little vinegar on them. Two draft beers, a couple of teas, two burgers and fries comes to $21. Decent price for good service and a couple of burgers in what I would call a greasy spoon, divey, slightly trashy bar. I did notice they have very large steaks on the menu for decent prices as well. I did notice other reviews that said the steaks were of poor quality, so that kinda makes sense. I kept my expectations in check and this was an OK place. I wouldn't stop here if your from out of town. I don't think it is a culinary destination, unless of course you like dive bars with OK food.

Lake front property...great view of the lake and it has ample parking... has bar in there but more so geared towards families...our waitress was very friendly... there portions are gigantic...good for competitive eaters...lol :) I had the pork loin special served a big dish of fries and broccoli...my friends and I were stuffed! Price is reasonable for its portions. Will be back!

Steaks are awesome! For the price, you get a lot of food. I've never finished what I've ordered which makes for a great lunch the next day. $22 for a 24 ounce NY Strip, and 2 sides. Side salads are huge and ALWAYS put a ton of carrots on (which I like). All in all a great place for an awesome steak for a good price. Would definitely recommend

Oh my. Over the year's I have heard how great this place is, so we couldn't wait to try it out. Where should I begin.... The parking lot is dark, so be careful walking because it is hard to see. Inside there is a bar side and the restaurant side. The table we sat at was back in the corner and was really wobbly. My husband and I shared a steak. It was very fatty. The "salad" consisted of lettuce and shredded carrots, and 2 croutons. The steak and baked potatoes were luke warm, but I NEVER send food back, ever. We had a clear view of the kitchen. One of the waitresses dropped a spoon on the floor, and no one picked it up. They just left it laying there. I am surprised no one slipped and fell on it. The other thing I didn't like was that they were carrying out bags of trash through the dining room while we were eating dinner. Not very appetizing! It was very busy, so they must do well. Good for them! Not my cup of tea though!

The last couple of times we went here, the food was just not as good. The steak was veiny and chewy... not good at all. The wait staff were very good though.

Steaks are huge and the flavor wasn't bad. However, the place is not the cleanest and there are "characters" (those were not the only bar flies, by the way). I ate at the bar and, while the bartender was kind and knowledgeable, the service was slow and it was a week night where the bar was at less than half capacity. This seems to be one of the establishments in Central PA that is making a living more off of reputation than their current product.

Fabulous place, doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is great, the service was great service, and the great prices make it well worth it.

wow, where do I start. My delmonico steak was the worse steak I ever had and I am not picky. It was not like any steak I ever had and not in a good way. It was no more than a 1/2 thick, tough and no flavor. I do not think it was a delmonico at all but not sure what else it could have been as it was not a sirloin, T-bone or porterhouse. My wifes crab cakes were very dry and no flavor whatsoever. The only good part of the meal was the baked potato. The service was horrible as well. Waitress never checked on us, ran out of drink and took 30 minutes to get our check once done eating. I can not image why such good reviews about this place. Yes you get a lot of steak for your money but it was a horrible steak and to top it all off the steak came out lying in a pool of grease. Rolls were just potato rolls, no homemade bread and the ice tea tasked like it came from a poweder. Never going back to the place again. I can get a better steak at any chain steakhouse.

Why are prices so cheap but the steaks so good? I don't know but I plan on going whenever I want a steak. Hopefully they will never find out that we are all getting such great deals! $23 for a juicy, perfectly cooked ginormous steak? It was literally three meals. Yes please!

Ok let's start with the not so great. The place is obviously old and in need of a renovation. The interior is a bit dark and far from modern but it's enough to get by and was relatively clean. Now for the great. The steaks were great! We each ordered a delmonico (ribeye) steak which was listed at 23-24 oz. The steak was enormous, especially for the price. The steak was cooked just right, sides were good, and I can honestly say it was one of the better steaks I have had. Our waitress was very friendly throughout our dining experience and I was a bit surprised to see other reviews complaining about the service. I am not from the area and don't eat steak all that often, but if I'm ever back in town, I'll be coming here for another delmonico steak.

I gave 5 stars because I know what this place CAN be. This night however was not as great as usual but pretty darn good. Main reasons were: 1. My wife's dinner sized grilled chicken was ALL ICEBERG with no real greens and the chicken was rubbery. Spend another 50 cents and put good lettuce in your salads! But hey, it's a steak place... 2: my porterhouse was big, juicy and OVERDONE. Now I will say that even overdone it was awesome BUT as a steak place management must hire people who can cook a steal to perfection. Having said all this..,,,I'll still be back !

GL update. Recently went with a group of friends. Place was empty but started to fill up as the evening went on. Everyone enjoyed their meal which ranged from steak to fish to sea scallops. Fries as usual are great, service friendly and quick, salad huge. The portion of onions or mushrooms is very generours, too generous, and can spoil a steak by burying it on the plate. I would suggest having onions and mushrooms on the side and consider splitting. In this economy I would like to see some innovation in their menu, especially for some cheaper specials. The sea food platter at $30 is a hard sell. Still no local brews on tap, still no website, still no specials, stil needs more light and a paint job, but if you can overlook this it is still a good place for steak and fries.

Great food, portions are huge, beer is cold! Place is old and a bit divey, but clean! Service is attentive. You will wait for a table though depending on the day/time.
