Their honey bourbon wings and BBQ salmon were fantastic! Great service and great food!

I frequent Bourbon for the after work beer or to enjoy my Friday night. They recently did some renovations which make the place so much more appealing and match the quality of the service, beer selection and the food. You want good wing, Bourbon has them! They also have awesome venues play on weekends which really liven the place up, always a fun time here.

This place is awful. The owner could care less about his patrons, the waitstaff is awful, and the building is leaking and falling apart. No wonder this place doesn't do any business. It used to have decent food, but since he refuses to pay his employees, the food and service have gone out the window. I would advise everyone to stay far, far away.

Love this place, great atmosphere and not only a good selection of beers but a great value. Always a daily special on the board. Check out their live music scene as well

My first experience at Taste of Bourbon was when they opened a few years back. The food was horrible, and the downstairs bartender had to use an app on her phone to make mixed drinks. I never intended on returning, but my curiosity got the best of me after they remodeled recently. I went back this evening, and upon entering the building I couldn't ignore the gut feeling that I needed to get up and leave before ordering. The brick wall was painted nicely outside, but the bar/dining room has not changed. The smell of the room was similar to that of an indoor pool...mustiness partially covered by a faint chemical scent. The dining room was completely empty and silent, the only noise was the chatter of bar patrons. My wife and I both ordered the shrimp and chicken jambalaya, and after a 35 minute wait the food finally arrived. It tasted like jambalaya, but the rice was very undercooked and the shrimp was missing altogether. The best part of the dinner were the two Yuengling Oktoberfests I had while sitting in silence waiting for my food. Roughly 20 minutes after finishing the bartender finally dropped our check and we were out the door. If I could give zero stars I would. The building looks like it was decorated by frat guys throwing a Mardi Gras party, the bartender/waitress had zero interest in leaving the bar to service the dining room, and my high school lunch ladies were better cooks than their kitchen staff. I will never waste my time going back. Their best bet would be bulldoze the dining room, eliminate food altogether, and only serve alcohol.

Service is horribly slow. Ordered a grill cheese for my son and it's been 30 minutes and counting and it's still not out. I would leave but my son is hungry and it will take longer....and the grilled cheese and my wings aren't even hot. :( this place is awful.

ATMOSPHERE * Definitely New Orleans themed. The booths were surrounded by adorable street lights, and the wall murals were reminiscent of Mardi Gras. The set up of the restaurant separates the bar from the actual dining area, and when I got there, nobody was in the restaurant, but there were maybe 10 people at the bar. They also blast rock music at the bar and play pop music in the dining area, and the music will clash. SERVICE * The waitress was excellent at being accommodating and following up. There were no other patrons at the restaurant except for the people at the bar, so they had to turn on the lights in the main seating area for me. My waitress would set expectations for what she was going to do next which helped me gauge when she was coming back with things. FOOD * Seafood chowder - great flavor, but the stew is grey instead of white, and the seafood is a bit gummy and feels like it has been stewing for too long. * Cajun Catfish with rice and vegetables - The catfish wasn't seasoned enough and was a little undercooked. The rice was reminiscent of high school steamed rice, and the corn was worse than canned corn. This dish left a lot to be desired. * Corn fritters - these had a nice thick crisp on the outside and were moist on the inside Probably won't frequent this place again.

My dad and I ate there for the first time today on vacation. I really liked the food. The ribs were tender, tasteful, soft, and good. I had the Sunday special wings for 39 cents each. The wings were big, tasteful, and filling. I recommend eating here.

I've gotta agree that from the outside, you'd never expect it to be anything more than a hole in the wall, budget motel restaurant. However, once you get inside, you'll be surprised at just how awesome this place is. We enjoyed quick seating and service, on a Friday night in which other places were crowded beyond belief. The dining area was comfortable, and they played a really great selection of music. I spent my formative years in Houston, Texas, and it was there that I was given my education in Cajun food. The menu really represents a great variety of Cajun dishes. The fried Alligator was excellent. I had to get the etoufee, and was not disappointed. It was an excellent portion, an was delicious. The Honeyed bread was also excellent. We'll be back again, just as soon as we get the taste for spicy seafood, that's for sure. Also, our drinks were served in Mason Jars. How can anyplace go wrong serving drinks in a Mason Jar? Seriously, get yo' hind sides out there and support them!

I wouldn't have expected much from the looks of the place on the outside. Apparently the new proprietor put a lot of effort into the renovation; I can't even imagine what it looked like before. The decor and the menu has a New Orleans theme, pub type atmosphere, but nothing too fancy. I had the most expensive item on the menu; a steam pot like you might get at Joes Crab shack. Crab legs, shrimp, clams, andouille sausage, redskin potatoes, corn for $25. Other entrees topped out around $15. My wife had cajun seafood pasta. We had an appetizer of pineapple-habanero wings. Add 4 draft beers and the whole check was only $52 + tip. All in all it was a great experience. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was great. I'll be back! We told my son about the crawfish steampot and he can't wait to get home from college to go there.

We had been anxiously awaiting the opening of this restaurant. The last restaurant that occupied this spot left a lot to be desired. If you have been inside this restaurant prior to it being A Taste of Bourbon, you would know that the new owners have put a lot of time, effort, and money into the remodel. The decor is nice, albeit slightly tacky. It looks like a homage to Bourbon St but, in my opinion, it's too open. While we were there, 2 other booths were occupied. I can't describe it, but the inside is "too quiet". Perhaps more speakers for the music or turning the music up? I don't know. I think the open spaces contribute to this a little bit. One thing I would change is the presence of the beads. I understand that colored beads are part of the Louisiana/New Orleans culture but there is no need to drape hundreds of strands across every open space. It cheapens the look. If it were me, i would consider putting some dividers up and changing the brightness of the lights. Again, that's just my opinion. My wife stated to me that she would like to see some nicer chairs at the tables. The booths are great but the tables are ho-hum. The menu consists of many staples of Creole culture. Red beans and rice as a side, jambalaya, po' boys, catfish, etc are all present. There are sections of the menu for appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts. My wife ordered the New Orleans Salmon, a piece of salmon with a cream sauce and andouille sausage. I love andouille and they provided a lot of it. My wife wasn't crazy about the dish but I believe that is because of the richness. I thought it was great but it was not a meal for a person that watches what they eat. Her side dish of broccoli was served on the plate and "swimming in butter". Not good. I ordered the "Big Easy" platter, a piece of seasoned catfish, crab cake, and crab imperial stuffed shrimp. I ordered a side of the red beans and rice. The catfish was ok but they need to do a better job preparing it. It was soaking in either butter or oil and there was a large fatty piece on the end. It was mildly underdone in the thick part of the fish, an absolute no-no in the restaurant biz. The crab cake was outstanding!! The crab imperial stuffed shrimp was excellent! The red beans and rice were disappointing and tasted like Rice-A-Roni. The salads that accompanied our meal were bland. They did not have oil and vinegar for my wife, something which surprised me since I thought these were staples. The cheese on the salad is bagged, shredded, processed, cheddar. The cornbread muffins that are served with dinner are excellent. They now have their liquor license. They have Yuengling Lager, Shock Top, and Bud Light on tap. C'mon!!!! I would love to see a Louisiana beer offering, perhaps something from the Abita Brewing Company. The menu offers many seafood and meat dishes. The sandwiches include shrimp po boys and veggie burgers. Crab cake = 5 stars Crab imperial shrimp = 4.5 stars Catfish = 2 stars Red beans and rice = 1.5 stars NO Salmon = 3.5 stars Dinner salads = .5 stars Cornbread muffins = 4.5 stars Our bill was in the $38 range, no drinks. Our server was Mina. He was friendly and competent but he made a slight error. My wife asked for a to-go box. He brought it and handed it to her. Just my opinion but it is the server's job to box leftovers, especially when the restaurant is virtually empty. When are restaurants going to realize that service is a large part of why people decide to return? This place has potential. We will try it again. I think the next time we will get sandwiches just to determine if we have another option for takeout. I will update this review as we have return visits. This place is worth a shot, at least once.

This place blew my mind. It had just opened a few weeks before and a friend and I went for lunch and the inside and atmosphere and decoration was jaw dropping. They seemed like they put so much work into the restaurant. It is New Orleans themed and you can definitely tell. There are murals painted on the wall, lampposts by some of the tables, old shudders here and there, with a beautiful tile floor. There is even a stage there because they plan on having live performances. Since they just opened, they were still in the midst of getting their alcohol license (we actually talked to the alcohol certifier as we were leaving) and I can image that it will be a nice hangout for people during the evenings when it gets up and running more. My friend ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich and fries and I ordered the catfish po' boy with fries. It came with a bourbonnais sauce and it was wonderful. I was so overwhelmingly full when I was finished eating. It was so good. It was relatively cheap for how much I ate. Something that was very interesting is that they serve cornbread as an appetizer instead of your classic rolls or bread. I thought this was really great. I highly recommend trying this place out and help making it successful!

Wow I was not expecting much of anything from this place but we were magically surprised. Everything we ordered ( bourbon chicken and the new Orleans salmon ) were amazing. This is going to be a new regular place for us to eat. Try it !
