It's a below average Chinese buffet. The staff is also below average and doesn't seem to care. However, it's still a buffet you can't really mess that up too much

The quality of JA has gone down incredibly. I've gone here a little over a dozen times or so since they've opened. The quality has gotten progressively worse over time, but it's always been a "Well, we're tired of burgers, what other choices are there?" option. But after the last visit I'll never return again, and here's why: I took a party of friends to JA late on a Saturday (around 9:00pm). The hostess told us that we should avoid the buffet and get orders from their little custom hibachi section. Huh? First off, this is a buffet, and the hostess tells our party NOT to get the buffet food? The entire point of a buffet IS the buffet. JA stays open until 10:30PM on Saturday,. That means there's an hour and a half left before they close, and they're already telling people not eat there at 9:00pm? That should have been warning sign number one, but we were tired and hungry, so we opted to stay. We go to the hibachi as suggested, and there's three guys behind it eating on a little makeshift table. We wait about three or four minutes with our plates, politely trying to get their attention. We didn't interrupt them as the entire thing felt... well, awkward. Finally, they look over at us, laugh, then go back to eating. Wait, what? Well, can we get something made? No response. They just ignore us. We decide screw it, there's five of us, we're hungry, and nothing else is open at the moment and the one place we could go just happens to be the one place a party member didn't like (Sorry, Five Guys!). So we attacked the dying remnants of the buffet, and... yeah. Not much left, the food is dried out and it's all the lil' pieces everybody else didn't want. We heard the warnings, but unfortunately hunger made the executive decision for us. While we were there, about 6 other people came in and picked at the remnants (at least I didn't feel bad we were the only ones). We felt like midnight vultures, everybody who straggled in felt to be of the same opinion and mind. "Well, it's... food?". We all kind of agreed that nope, this is NOT good . But we decided just to leave it there, and move on. Story should have ended there but didn't. As we left, the hostess asked how our food was. I was honest, said "Eh, it wasn't that great." and she responded "I TOLD you the food was bad." in an accusatory manner, like this was somehow all our fault. "You should have gone to the hibachi like I told you." Ahh, yep. There it is. It's entirely /our/ fault in her eyes. Great. I'll admit, I was kind of hoping for a /slight/ discount on the bill given they knew the food and service was "under par" (I'm being nice). Nope. Oh, and here's the $60+ bill for five people. Awesome. So yeah. I have severe issues with a restaurant knowing their food is bad and continuing to serve it. I admit, we were stupid, but when you're hungry and tired, it can lead to bad decisions. But as a business, if you're serving food that's bad, and you know it's bad, it's your responsibility to STOP serving the food and do something about it. The JA had been declining in quality since I first started going. It used to be our "safe" choice. Not great, but acceptably average. But after the continuing decline, then this... I have to say I won't be back.

My first time eating there & was very disappointed. The outside and I interior looks very nice, but it doesn't make up for the poor quality of the food. I tried a little but of everything & was highly disappointed in everything that I ate except for the egg drop soup and the Chinese donuts. Their salad had huge chunks of lettuce that looked like it was just taken off a head of lettuce and not even cut up, their food was warm, nothing was hot, not even my soup. Their fish was bland & mushy. Their seafood stuffed mushrooms looked AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS but I was wrong, the only part that was good about that was the mushrooms. Their Chinese food was bland. I thought their ice cream was good until I realized it was freezer burnt. The place looks so nice, it's a shame the food is such a disappointment.

Saturday - 7:00 pm. Not many cars in the lot. Usually a poor sign. Went in anyway. Immediately was asked by hostess how many and if I prefered a table or booth. Said it didnt matter and was shown to a booth and asked for drink order. One minute later waitress came back with drinks, placed them and left. I've never been here before, the staff has said a total of six words. "how many, table or booth, to drink" Is there a menu? Can you get something cooked to order? Is it just a buffet? How much is the buffet? What the hell is going on here? After five minutes of sitting in the booth I decided it must be buffet only and made my way up to the buffet tables and grabbed a plate. There were six tables. One was fruits, one was jello's and puddings and such, one was american food, one was a mix of american food and chinese food and two were chinese food. No white rice. One type of lo mein, one type of fried rice. Sweet and sour chicken (mostly breading) no sauces. Baby neck clams, no butter, several fake crab concoctions mixed with breading.... Overall for a chinese buffet the variety of chinese foods was poor. Once I was overcome with disappointment I decided to attempt to try as many of the chinese dishes as I could and I'll bet I tried over half of them. Everything was a colossal disappointment. It was blatantly apparent that this place buys and uses the cheapest ingredients possible and that the "chef" couldn't care less what it tastes like. Once I had three picked at piled up plates on my table I got a check. The buffet was $15.00 bucks. I got no problems paying 15 bucks for food. Thats an appetizer at a place with good food. This was not a place with good food. Except the fruit. The fruit seemed to be fresh and tasted good. Bottom line! Food is terrible. There really isn't a nice way to put it. All that being said I must acknowledge that when I was grabbing my last plate of slop there was an old women asking the manager what on the buffet table was "vegetarian". The brocolli has chicken in it, the only rice was pork fried, there werent' a whole lot of options. The women seemed disappointed and the gentlmen told here that he would cook her brocolli or fried rice without any meats in it to accomdate her if she wished. That was pretty stand up.

Worst Chinese restaurant I was ever in. Everything was simply horrible EVEN THE WATER. I'm not a big soda fan, so I ordered water and it had the exact smell and taste as if someone ladled water out of a fish tank. I wouldn't doubt they lay their seafood on the ice to preserve it and use that same ice when they serve water. I don't even want to go into the food because everything was bad. Things that should be crisp were soggy, all seafood was fishy or slimy as if it had gone bad and there was simply nothing that was acceptable. No thanks, once was enough.

I should of read the not so hot Yelp reviews and avoided this place. Since this was a relatively brand new place I thought I would give it a try. It is smaller than most of your tyrpical Buffets. The dining area has upscale seating but the buffet doesn't come close. Some of the trays were empty and what was worst were the floors all around the buffet was slipperly with like grease film. Yuck. I could only image what the ktichen was like. The food was average at best and the prices were top dollar. Maybe this the only type of buffet for miles around but they have a poor selection and lower quality of food as compared to similar buffets in the Lehigh Valley area that I have tried. I say..take a pass.

Well, when I first looked at the buffet I was like. Humm. It's not terrible for cheap Chinese food. Then I got the bill and was shocked. $15.00 per person (Friday evening)!? On second thought, the food sucked! Really, I would expect a way bigger selection and better quality for that price. I'm not from the area so I don't know if that would be normal but I don't think I've ever paid that much for a Chinese buffet. I would expect this place to charge $10. Max!

Lunch was good enough and reasonably priced. Had much worse and much better. Clean and friendly service.

Restaurant is clean and the food is safe to eat. No heat in the hot and sour soup; No heat in the General Tso's Chicken and very little chicken; One entire steam table devoted to local foods like ham, roast beef, corn, mashed potatos, etc. Overall disaster as a Chinese buffet. The food is very bland. Might be ok for your kids, but that's all. Biggest advantage is, it is close to Cabela's.

Your first impression when walking in is that it is updated and clean. They have a very wide selection of various types of food. American fare for the kids, sushi bar, hibachi station, and a about 4 hot/cold stations. we went on a Sunday and it was seafood/steak day and everything was very good. the gen tso's chicken was sans chicken however and it seemed to be only the outer coating of the chicken which was very very hard. everyone was very nice and they made sure that the table was cleared without being overbearing and you dont feel like you are being stalked. they had crawfish (which is unheard of in these parts) and that was a very pleasant surprise. no crab legs however. The kids are already asking when we are going back (even the picky one who never eats anything) so this defiantly will be on our list of "lets go again" places.!!

Looks nice enough from the outside. Well, we walk in and a little boy about 10 years old with an order pad asks us how many. We are escorted to a table and he asks us what we would like to drink. Then an adult finally comes over and says okay you can get your plates whenever you like and leaves. Hold on -- how much is it? Is it just a buffet? Do you serve anything else? Well, we were there and hungry so we walked over to the buffet. I did not recognize any of the usual colorful Asian dishes you'd expect to see. There was only one vegetable option in the entire place -- green beans. Seriously? Maybe a mixed vegetable entree would be nice for vegetarians. I was surprised at what I did see -- a lot of american fried food (good for kids I guess), ham, oysters on the half shell, crawfish. Most of the stuff that was out was just greasy Asian options that lacked what you'd normally expect -- where are the bamboo shoots, the water chestnuts, broccoli, or any sense of a vegetable? Later we realized that in the back corner they had a sushi station and a line where you could order something made fresh. Gee, it would have been nice if this was explained to us in the beginning. The spare ribs were good, but the overall experience was a big disappointment. Um, and then we get the bill, $15 per person. Wow. I have a feeling this is better as a take out place than a buffet but am now hesitate to try that.

Seems clean, but food is below average, especially for the price ($15/person). Good if you are looking for quantity, and they do have a good variety, but quality is mediocre.

Barely edible. The fried foods like General Tso's chicken which is a staple for any Chinese buffet could chip a tooth, the pho noodles have an odd smokey flavor while the cold shrimp have no flavor what so ever, and the dumpling sauce is just plain gross. You will be hungry an hour after eating this Chinese buffet because you will leave hungry. They get one star because of the place is very nice and clean. Always be wary of an empty Chinese buffet

I was happy with this place. $12.99 for the buffet which includes your drink. Plenty to choose from, food was hot, everything I tried was good. Unfortunately they didn't have any crab legs on this buffet, but had plenty of shrimp dishes. Their seafood alfredo was excellent. It had shrimp and imitation crab meat in it. I opted to make mine a shrimp alfredo as I'm not crazy about imitation crab meat. I would recommend this place for sure.

If you're looking for cheap chinese or sushi, and you're in rural eastern PA, this is the place to go. For 17 bucks, my wife and I had all the food we could eat. The chinese wasn't spicy, and the sushi wasn't raw, but what can you expect at a buffet? They also had deserts, which I would skip, as the pastries looked a little stale. We will definitely be returning.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
