Ok...First off, if you are looking for fancy - keep going. The interior is well worn, but clean. The place was packed, and we would have had to wait had we not opted for the counter. We were greeted warmly. Coffee and beverages were served quickly. The server working the counter was pleasant and chatty. We had several questions that were answered either by our server, or the owner who was working the register and checking on the guests. I ordered eggs, potatoes, scrapple, bacon and sausage. All were served hot and fresh and they were prepared by a capable chef in the back. It took a little time for the food to come out. I suspect the grill top is not as big as it could be...plus they were busy. Saw some things I usually wouldn't see...which tells me their food is all home made. The bill was just about right. Just about the best place I could ask for on our way home from early Lacrosse games.

Typical diner food...breakfast was okay..except for being over priced for the amount of food you get..pancake had too much vanilla flavoring in it.i was surprised that there we no real breakfast specials,or anything a little bit different, restaurant was clean on a good note.

About 25 years ago I was a local policeman in a neighboring municipality. On occasion I would wonder over the border to this little diner. The place looks and feels the same as "back in the day". The food is quite satisfying comfort food. Made quickly and efficiently. Staff was outstanding for a bunch of kids working part-time jobs. All smiling and quite responsive. Since we live in the area now I'm sure we'll be back!

I've been coming here for Years! Super little Diner, good food, super service, too. Great area to take a ride to and visit some local produce stands poor even zerns.

Average diner. Friendly service. Nothing to rave over. Had a chicken parm sandwich. I'm used to them being on a toasted dinner roll. This was on a hamburger bun. Had a slapped together feel. Food was served up very fast. Cash only.

Great diner, nice people, good food. We had soup and sandwiches, everybody was happy. The place is clean and quiet and the food was made with love. Don't forget to try the pie, all made from scratch. We will be back.

A real old-fashioned diner, unpretentious, the staff were so friendly, and the food was real home-cooked food. Loved it.

It's your typical greasy spoon in the area. Nothing too special, outside of relatively cheap food and a full stomach. If you're hungry, this will likely hit the spot... but if you're looking to be wowed by creativity, you're looking in the wrong spot.

I came to PA and this was one of the first stops I made. My friends all had a big appetite and ordered biscuits and gravy, home fries, bacon, waffles, sausage and buttered toast. That's what everyone had all together and not just for one person by the ways. ^^;; I had French toast, pancakes and tea with milk and sugar. The pancakes were served with butter and syrup which were the best pancakes I have ever had. ^^ They were fluffy and soft and beats any fast food restaurant pancakes any day. The French toast was great though I wish they made it a bit "crispier" on the outside but maybe that's their style of making French toast. I still prefer the pancakes over them. I took a bite out of one of my friend's waffles. They were fluffy and I can tell that they were made with just the right consistency of batter. I did not try the meats my other friends were having but since they have cleaned their plates, I can tell that they were more than pleased with their meals. The restaurant seems to be family run and they were all very polite, prompt and happy to serve. Wait-time for meals was not long as all. Have a brief laugh with your friends and before you know it, your food is here. All my friends were very happy with their meals. The only warning is that you will be eating a lot because the food is great. ^^

This little diner is a regular slice of contemporary Americana. I always love going to independent restaurants, and this one smacks of small-town charm and honest-to-goodness home-style cooking. I loves me some biscuit and gravy, and rarely do I find it north of Dixie, especially a good plate of it. The biscuits here were light and fluffy and moist... no hockey pucks here. The sausage gravy ROCKS! Not overly salted, just simply delicious, with a good amount of sausage swimming around, this gravy lavishly coats those amazing biscuits. These are among the best biscuits and gravy I've had up north. The bacon was perfectly crispy, and a great compliment to my main dish, although I had to order it as a side. The pancakes are light and fluffy, and the french toast is thick and tasty, with just enough of the egg coming through. I'm generally not a fan of home fries, but the ones here were very good. I asked for them well-done, and that they were, and done well. They had a nice crispness without being burnt. The staff is pleasant and the service is prompt. I look forward to coming back for other meals and will follow up when I do.

The food here has just been average, or less than average (at least when I've been there!) for years. Probably breakfast is your best bet. Every couple of years we try it again, but it seems about the same each visit.

Been here a few times for breakfast. It's got an awesome, and rare anymore, authentic small town diner feel to it. I'll concur with most of what another reviewer said in that the service is great and the food is very good and cooked perfectly to order. Food wise the only thing I don't care too much for are the homefries, they're wet and mushy instead of being crispy and carmelized. I guess you could chalk that up to personal preference though. The only caveat to me, and where I disagree with the other reviewer, are the prices. It is NOT a cheap place. No place that will cost you $8 for 2 eggs, homefries, meat, toast and coffee (not including tip) is.....unless you're dining in New York City. Sorry but any of a 1/2 dozen other breakfast joints that are within 10 minutes of here (Woodside, Strawberry house, Saville's, etc.) will cost you $1.50 to $2.50 less for the same plate. Will the eggs be cooked as perfectly and will you be served by as pleasant a server, possibly not, but it's still hard for me to get around paying that much for what is usually the cheapest meal out. The times I've eaten here I've always thought to myself, if the owner would just drop the prices a buck or two here and there so it would be closer to other local restaurants he'd have people standing in line at the door.

Hickory Park is a classic independent diner. I was charmed by their fast and friendy service, retro ambiance, and stellar BLT's. I can't speak to the rest of the menu as I had a BLT the first time I ate there and I loved it so much that I've ordered the same each time since.
