We came to Eerie for a mini vacation from Ontario and this was the gem of our trip! The staff were so kind and attentive. The food was out of this world! Their signature all-meat chilli was phenomenal. They had a ton a specials too! So glad we found this place using the Yelp app!!!

I stopped here on my way through Erie from Toronto to Cleveland. Parking was a bit complicated, but I found a spot in the parking lot across the street (not sure if this is legal or not, but it went fine). The restaurant itself doesn't look like much, but it seems to be a spot for locals, and one of the only decent non-chain restaurants in Erie, so I decided to check it out. I'm glad I did! I had a simple grilled chicken sandwich, and it was very good. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the cheese was warm and gooey, and the fries were neither too soggy nor too crispy (I am quite picky about fries). The portion was pretty big and I couldn't finish the whole thing, but it was a good meal. The staff were great, and the food came out quick, fresh, hot, and yummy. If I pass through Erie again, I would probably return.

I can see why this is a local favorite. - Fresh, solid ingredients. The fruits were very fresh. Each of our orders come with a generous portion of cooked spinach and salad greens. All very fresh. Friendly, attentive service. - There were only like 5 car parking right in front. We came at 11:30am on Friday and got the last spot. - The booths by the big windows were popular seating preference. So again come early or you'll have to wait a bit. We had - chicken breast sandwich: chicken breasts were dry. Granted, it's hard to NOT make it so. However we recently had it at Sixth and Pine and it was juicy. So I don't know what they did to the meat, but it was enjoyable. - maple bacon meat loaf: the maple gave the meatloaf an interesting twist in flavor. An unexpected surprise. - open face roast ox: very flavorful. If come here next time I'd order this. -- overall Compared to other breakfast places summer house exceed in providing healthful offerings and fresh ingredients.

Annual summer trip to Erie .. me and my best friend had to have breakfast at our favorite spot. Still on point .. this restaurant still has it- charming as ever. I had the Huevos Rancheros (seemed to be a favorite in several reviews). I was so glad I ordered it.. it was different and tasted so amazing!!! I added my potatoes inside and mixed it all in. I ate every single bit. With each bite .. it was a different variation of ingredients. I liked the "kick" to it - but it wasn't too spicy - just right. It was a nice break from the ordinary bacon and eggs which I love. The tea selection is great too if you are a hot tea drinker - nice selection (added photo). Another great visit .. thanks Summer House Café!

Found this place through Yelp. They deserve the sticker in the front door. Parking seems to be an issue but you will find space on the other side of the street. Friendly staff and the food is good. I had a breakfast burrito. Wished there was more filling inside but for that price it was alright. I would definitively go back there ... if I ever return to Eire.

Food - I ordered a burger with a side of blue cheese Cole slaw, the burger was decent, nothing special. It had a tiny party and minimal vegetable on it. Our appetizer was Caprese which was actually very good. The Cole slaw was the most bland coleslaw I have ever had. Service - very slow service, quick seating, forgot our drinks. The one good thing was our waitress who kept good conversation And checked up on us frequently. Price - way over priced. Atmosphere - older crowd, they keep the restaurant quite chilly. The one star was for the Caprese. Also horrible bathroom placement.

Came here for brunch with the friends. The food is awesome and very affordable. I got the Country Breakfast bowl. The biscuit was fluffy and melt-in-your mouth delicious. The sausage gravy was good and had a nice spice as well. I was impressed how crisp and flavorful their home fries were. They managed to hold up even under a sea of egg and gravy. The portion size was quite large, so I wasn't even sure what to do with my toast. I appreciated that they had apple butter at the table. The owner also informed is that it was BYOB any time.

This is our favorite place in Erie! It's a very clean, incredibly charming little restaurant with a fantastic breakfast menu. The service is excellent and personal, and the food is wonderfully tasty. Too bad we must return home today, we could have breakfast here every day!

My daughter and I visited once on a Friday for brunch. The food, service and price point was average. Parking is extremely limited with most of it being off-site. The few spots they do have were blocked for a delivery. The restaurant's interior aspired to be charming. But Summer House Cafe is a perfect example of how to be "just part of the woodwork" or a place that stands out and people will make an effort to patronize. In my opinion (and isn't this what Yelp is all about?), how you care for or maintain those things customers can see tells me how you care for or maintain those things customers can't see. Extremely worn entry door handles and toilet seats tells me the condition of the kitchen is probably the same. Inattention to the small yard outside the atrium suggests to me the same attitude regarding health regulations. Some people may suggest I'm being anal (and I'll be the first to admit they may be right). But I just recently saw a different restaurant 35 miles from my home that I'm willing to try based only on its physical appearance. The food, service and price will determine if I go back but at least they'll get me in the door for the first time. So I ask you, Summer House Cafe: Do you want your customers to be 'one and done' or do you want to be a local 5-star gem that keeps people coming back? Because, as of right now, its not worth the effort for me. There are far too many other options to try be they superior or not.

There was a little bit of a wait but that was expected on the weekend morning. The server was really friendly and had great suggestions about what to order. I got the huevos rancheros which was unlike any other that I have had. It has a little bit of a kick to it. Although my food was delicious, i would probably get something else next time. My friend got the corned beef hash and raved about it for days.

  • Faya C.

Food &Service - Amazing!! But I have to give two stars because the hostess got the names mixed up and we ended up having to wait for 20 minutes when the other couple (who has the same name as my husband) walked in, waited for less than 5 minutes and got the table right away.

I had parked on the street adjacent to a nice park in a nice residential area just a block away. This is a really nicely decorated establishment. The ceiling has a type of stained glass while there is a glass wall displays in the dining area. The tables have a nicely textured cover as well as a placement. We arrived a little late for breakfast which is what I wanted to have here but they had some breakfast items as part of the all day breakfast on the full menu. I ended up ordering the corned beef hash and eggs and my wife ordered the Eggs Florentine. I thought the corned beef was really good. I would order it again. The serving was just the right size. I would return to the Summer House again.

Fellow Yelpers, Was in Erie pa for about 1 year. I always passed this place, not giving it a chance. Finally one day I stopped and tried it. It was Great!! Breakfast is the specialty. Great bread, amazing hollandaise sauce for the eggs Benedict. And service was excellent. It was very comfortable inside and has a unique style. Come check it out if your looking for a good breakfast place while passing through or visiting. This is the best choice. Enjoy!

We were in town for a wedding, and it was FREEZING outside. Unfortunately the heaters/lack of insulation in this place aren't strong enough for the window-area out front where we were sat, so we were pretty cold the entire meal (I swear it was like 40 degrees in there, and probably 10 outside - but this is Erie so the place should be prepared for it). For that, it looses one star =(. However my Summer House Breakfast Bowl (heuvos rancheros basically) was really good, I was pleasantly surprised - would be a 4 star diner if not for the heat =).

One of the best breakfasts I have had. I chose the Fiesta Bowl. Chorizo sausage, pulled pork and sweet potato has topped with two eggs and cheese. Delicious. Great service. Definitely worth visiting.

I have been at this establishment on several occasions. Breakfast is great. No corkage fee for champagne/wine is an added bonus. The easter brunch is quite the spread!

I can only speak to the breakfasts ... Place was packed and quite busy. Got seated in 15ish minutes. Staff was polite and knew the menu well. Coffee was great. Traditional 'Merican breakfast was spot-on. I bet if you order something "ethnic" they'd not be as kind to it. Must try it if you're in Erie.

This breakfast place serves the usual: eggs, potatoes, toast, pancakes, French Toast, etc. They also serve some sort of hideous abomination that they call a breakfast burrito that tastes worse than my poops. The grits are also nothing to write home about. Signed, Woodsy Durst

Visiting the area and stopped here based on other yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. Everything was made fresh and the fruit was fresh- not from a can. Deserts sounded heavenly but we were too full to try. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

Went there for the first time for lunch before the Brewers Cup. I had the club with fries. This sandwich had to be at least 4" high and it was mostly meat. One of the best sandwich ' s I have ever had! The fries were crisp and fried in new oil.. Even the iced tea was great. I like it so much I decided to go there the next day for a good hangover breakfast. I had the Santa Fe bowl and just wow! There was so much going on with this meal, but it worked. I really enjoyed the sweet potato hash underneath the conglomeration. The coffee was fresh with great flavor. This cafe is clean, warm, and welcoming. I really wish this place was closer but it gives me something to look forward to when I come to Erie. And let's not forget about the service. It's impeccable!! Thank you Summerhouse cafe for two wonderful meals (*and the croissant*) I'm looking forward to the next one :-)

Though it was very subpar and over priced for the quality of food. Long wait. French toast was dry and bland. Eggs had no flavor and cooked to death. "Cheddar grits" were instant with a little cheese on top. Won't be back.

I took my good friends who were visiting from Chicago here for breakfast. I ordered the Summer House omelet with potatoes. The omelets are supposed to be made with 4 eggs but I can't see how since the omelet was a tad larger than the shape of a hard shell taco. It was overcooked and not fluffy. It comes with bacon, avocado and brie cheese. It had a crumble of bacon (maybe 1 strip worth) 2 tiny slices of avocado and barely a taste of brie. The home potatoes lacked ANY flavor and were very undercooked. Some brown crisp to the potato with a little season would have been nice. The coffee was strong and the service was good. I can't quite speak for my friends meals but they didn't look terribly impressed either. I really dislike spending money on food if the quality and flavor is less than what I can make/eat at home.

the food was good. i ordered Huevos rancheros which was very Americanized. It tasted good, but wasn't huevos rancheros. my companion ordered eggs, toast and potatoes. he enjoyed his meal tremendously. the atmosphere was pleasant and the music selection was incredible. Sinatra, Martin, Goodman, and other great oldies. our server was polite and attentive. the only issue was that she frequently coughed into her hand, which was a bit unsettling. all in all, i would recommend Summer House and will dine there again.

Drove to Erie as we left Chautauqua just to go here. This place is the best. Found it through Yelp two years ago and it only proves the stars tell us the best places. We both loved the summer house omelet and the super French toast with strawberries!

Service was acceptable but not the best. I went because there is no-where decent to eat in erie and this place received 4.5 stars. The 4.5 stars is a lie!!!! I ordered the corned beef hash and it literally looked and tasted like canned cat food. The corned beef hash was very tendinous and tough. My girlfriend ordered 2 eggs and sausage links. The eggs were overcooked and consistency was of a taco (overcooked in oil) and her sausage links tasted old. All the rave reviews were probably written by friends/family of the owners, OR the people of erie have very very low standards for food.

I was visiting on family business on 6/6/2015. We had made a reservation for 6 pm. Seated promptly and the fun began. We had a great server - Eric ! He was attentive, but not in your face. Now we have eaten here many times before and it is a favorite place. Our meals were, as usual fantastic. Whenever I visit Erie I always come here for a family meal with all the family. Wonder Cafe !

Excellent experience today. Food was great. Our large party ordered everything from omlettes to salads and sandwiches. Everyone loved their meal and waitresses were very attentive and accommodated all of our special requests. Homemade French toast has me planning a second trip tomorrow. So glad I checked yelp before going to another local greasy spoon!

Went there for dinner based on breakfast reviews. Love this place! Dinner was delicious. Service was great. Waitress, Cindy was a joy. You can tell she loves her job and loves people. We arrived 30 minutes before closing and never felt rushed. The rest of the staff was equally outgoing and pleasant. They don't serve wine but encouraged us to bring our own bottle next time. We were so impressed that we came back for breakfast the next morning. The only breakfast in my lifetime that might rival the quality was Nancy's in NYC (but there you wait for hours to get in and it cost over $100 for 2 people). Had eggs Oscar, a special not on the menu. Delicious as was everything else. The atmosphere is cozy and in an unlikely location but worth finding.

On the recommendation of my local community manager Rachel C, I took a friend to Summer House Cafe before an afternoon Erie SeaWolves game. We were not disappointed. We both went with the Corned Beef Hash which was probably the best I've ever tasted. The ingredients were so fresh and the presentation was beautiful. I also wanted to try the biscuit and gravy which was presented in an unsual way as a sort of gravy sandwich (with the biscuit cut in half and the gravy poured over the inside). The gravy was amazingly meaty. Service was a bit slow considering there was only one other table when we were there. But that will not stop me from returning next time I'm in Erie.

A classic diner feel with above average breakfast diner food. It's got that great local diner feel with excellent, friendly, attentive servers. Coffee is above average for a diner and the sausage and biscuits are all made in-house rather than out of a box and can. Easily one of the best diners in the Erie area. I often go for the Big Summer House... the best and tastiest breakfast deal in Erie.

Summerhouse cafe is a gem. Their brunch menu is creative and on point. I ended up getting the summerhouse special, but next time I definitely will get one of the breakfast bowls. Their biscuits are homemade and yummy. The pancakes were mouth watering and honestly some of the best I've had in a while. Our serious was great and I've enjoyed the quaint and comforting vibe of this place every time I've come here. It's a small restaurant, but it packs a hell of a great menu that is always changing. It really is a nice and refreshing place to dine in Erie! I've eaten both lunch and dinner here and enjoyed my meals. Prices are very reasonable. Overall great place!!!

French toast was soft but not dry. The eggs benefict were good. He poached eggs were a little over but there was a new cook and well, poached eggs are not an easy thing to do perfectly. The hollandaise was spot on though. This place is definitely a hidden gem.

Great breakfast! !! Love the huevos rancheros! I don't like beans so they substitute rice. Always so good. They also sub fruit for the potatoes. In the past I have tried other dishes and all were good, but I always go back to the huevos.

I believe that this restaurant is double-listed... but maybe it's just so darn good that it deserves to be named twice? I had breakfast here in Erie this morning, and it was really great! The service was awesome. We were never without a full cup of coffee... but the server also wasn't pushy! The ambiance is bright, white, and charming. There's a counter to sit at, or booths which are full of sunlight. The French-bread French Toast was awesome! YUM. I wish I could have some of it for dinner tonight. :-)

My friend and I decided to try a new place to grab breakfast (we needed a break from the Breakfast Place and Perkins). Google noted the close proximity of this cafe to the LECOM area, so we paid a visit. First, it's a roomy restaurant with plenty of seats (booths included) and the employees are very kind. They have a large breakfast menu with numerous options. The coffee was good, and we got free refills. I ordered scrambled eggs over corn beef hash (For the first time) and it was AWESOME. We were served in under 10 minutes and the food came out nice and hot. Our waitress checked up on us throughout the meal too. Also, my meal was under $9, not bad! I'll definitely be back for another breakfast!

From the outside, it looks very small, but the inside feels spacious. It's bright and beautifully decorated. Very clean. I'd call thier vibe classy cafe. I know a lot of people who go here for breakfast, but I stopped in for dinner with a large group. The service was great. I ordered the rocket chicken salad. The dish was presented well. The flavors were interesting and good, but not great... just not to my liking for flavor combos, I guess. The portion was ok for the price. Then I had baklava ice cream cake for desert... oh... my... gosh... The slice they served me would be plenty for 2 or 3 people. It is the most delicious desert I've ever had. Layers of crispy philo, honey, nuts and vanilla ice cream... Mmmmm....

Erie always seems like a never ending stream of chain restaurants to me whenever I go there, so it was nice to find a non-chain place while my mom and I did some furniture shopping. Had to wait about 10 minutes for a table a little after 12 noon. The host at the front was a really friendly and managed everything well. Had just two benches to sit, otherwise I felt in the way. We were tucked in the back corner of one of the front window nook booths and it was nice compared to the busy area in the center. My mom noted that the acoustics weren't great as it does get louder. It pretty much cleared out by time we left after 1. Coffee was fresh and tasty, though I had to flag down waitress to bring more half way through meal; might be easy to get missed in this back corner. She never came to get check as I saw some people got theirs picked up. We needed to get going so we just took up to front. I went with the Root Beer Pulled Pork and fries. I really liked the pulled pork. It was a neat flavor and wasn't saucy which I liked. Came with coleslaw on top. It was not a huge portion, but for the quality/price, it was a decent value. Rolls was high quality and toasted. Fries were super tasty to both my mom and I who really don't eat fries much. My mom had a cup of the Hearty Vegetable Soup and Summer Garden Veggie wrap and fries. Mom liked all the veggies in her wrap. She said the soup was flavorful and not salty (she eats barely any salt). It was though a "tea cup" sized portion for $3.50. My main issue was that I found a hair on both my mom and my basket/wax paper lining. It wasn't on the food, but still to have that on both is a bit concerning. Menus also sticky. I would have given probably 3.5, but rounded up for the tasty food overall for the value.

I would never have thought this could have been transformed into such a cute little cafe. This was the old Fergies, which had been a long time resident of this corner of Washington and 26th. Since I lived up Washington I've passed the place for years seeing the elderly slowly walk in and out all day. Just seemed to be the senior hang out. But now, gone is the dark interior and outdated tables and chairs. In is a bright, warm and inviting restaurant! I loved it from the minute I walked in! Definitely an all ages welcome kind of place... not just the senior special crowd. There were so many tempting items on the menu it was hard to choose! Good thing they offered a triple combo of the tantalizing egg, tuna and chicken salad. The presentation was beautiful! I was surprised to see a generous scoop of all three salads placed on a bed of greens. A light balsamic dressing accompanied it. I planned my attack by pushing the salads off to the side and pouring the dressing over the greens. It was a nice balance to have both, even though it sounds a little weird. My favorite salad was the egg. It was tasty and seasoned perfectly, I gobbled that one up first. My second fave was the tuna. It was shredded tuna and also had tons of flavor and just the right amount of mayo to be on top a bed of greens. My least fave was the chicken salad. I always envision chicken salads to be chunks of chicken, but this was also shredded. Something about shredded chicken makes me think it's not real. I don't know why, but it just does. Not that it was gross, but it was a little bland compared to the other two. Since I hear the brunch is so good this is a MUST on my next trip to Erie! Their french toast sounds like heaven, so you can count me in on that!

There are places that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and Summer House Cafe is definitely one of those places. All the dishes here are prepared with the freshest ingredients with love and care. Definitely not one of your greasy spoon diner type breakfast. We ended up ordering Eggs Florentine ($7.95), French Toast ($3.95) and Corn Beef Hash & Eggs ($7.50). The French Toast made from Italian is one of the best I had especially when served with the warmed syrup on the side!! Attentive services!! Water gets refilled constantly and our waitress checked on us numerous time. I wish I could find a restaurant near my home that is as good, down to earth and reasonably priced as Summer House Cafe.

This place is awful. So unorganized! Im sitting here as we speak and have been here waiting for at least an hour. There are clean tables and I am still waiting! Im completely baffled! We ate here based purely off Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. I had the summer house omelet. It was very good. The Brie was perfectly melted and the bacon was done very well. My son had a pancake and we were delighted by the hot syrup. My husband ate the Santa Fe bowl and said it was all really tasty. The service was also very good. They accommodated my noisy toddler well and were attentive to all our needs. This is the best place that we ate at in Erie!

Lovely place. Wonderful customer service and delicious breakfast. We both had requests that were met with a smile. The decor is warm and welcoming. Will come back when we return to Erie. Skip the other places- go to Summer House!

I ask how long its going to take and they just keep saying "a few minutes". If you are hungry and do not want to wait do not, I repeat do not come here!

Mmmmm....

Definitely one of Erie's somewhat hidden gems! I haven't even been in for the much acclaimed breakfast/brunch but the lunches have hit the spot. Creative tasty sandwiches and some banging chili- that calls for the crock instead of just a cup- take the cheese, literally and figuratively! The prices may be a bit more than some Erie spots, but certainly nothing outlandish; regardless dem sandwiches proved their worth. Places like Summer House could put Erie on the foodie map! Give it a go and see what's up! EDIT: I hate to change my tune, but I have to drop them to 3 stars. The service on the last few occasions has been S.....L....O....W!!! With only two tables to serve, there is no reason meals should take close to 30 minutes to hit the table... and still be COLD! Last time I went my chili (which tastes great btw) came out luke warm with cold spots here and there. Not cool guys. Wait staff very friendly, but me thinks the kitchen staff is slacking a bit. Sort of irks me to say this, but I don't think we'll be back anytime soon. Yelpers should still check it out though... tasty food regardless of their shortcomings.

The food here was amazing. This is not your typical breakfast place. They have the standards, but also some very creative and unique dishes, as well as daily specials. I wanted to order everything on the menu. The ambiance was cute and cozy and our server was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the girl working up front seemed to have an attitude problem and was quite irritable, but otherwise a great experience. We went for brunch on a Sunday and they initially said it would be a 30 min wait but we only ended up waiting 5-10 min for a table.

I've been here three times. The first time I came for breakfast, the place was packed and I had to wait around 45 minutes. That is a long wait considering I am in Erie. The egg Benedict is to die for, and so are the home made muffins. I also enjoy their home made dessert. so so so delicious! My only complaint is that the workers are not very friendly here. I came during lunch and breakfast when the place was pretty much empty, and the waitress still wasn't attentive nor personable. One time, they were bickering among themselves. With that said, the food here is definitely 5 stars.

I love this place. My friends and I would often end up stumbling to this little gem of a restaurant on Sundays after late nights and it always delivered! Clean, cute atmosphere with ample window booth seating and friendly service. The menu offers your basic breakfast items and the are all done very very well! My favorite being the Eggs Florentine. Everything is freshly made with care and very consistent in quality. I have also been to this restaurant for its special occasions dinners like Valentine's Day and Easter and everything is just so delicious! Not too heavy, not swamped in creams, butter or other flavor-drowning yuck- just fresh and delicious!

Came here for lunch. It was alright I suppose. Everything is decent, just a bit uninspired. Had a soup and half sandwich and wasn't overly impressed. The staff was very nice. I gave it to them and it elevated my experience for sure. Of my food, the chill was the best. It was solid and didn't taste premade/from a can. Though the food was meh, I would definitely come back to try their specials in hopes of finding a gem.

Great little breakfast spot! We were in town for a wedding and did some searching on Yelp to find a good place for brunch and the options seemed few and far between. The reviews for Summer House were good and were really happy with our experience. Very affordable and a great selection of traditional and creative breakfast dishes were available. I tried a great dish called Eggs a la Dante-- eggs served with marinara sauce and Italian sausage on toasted bread. Yum!

Came here for breakfast on Sunday and it was delicious! The service is also really friendly, sweet, and patient. Coffee was refilled constantly without having to ask. There is seating along windows for sunlight. But wherever you sit the place is bright and feels very warm and homey. We had french toast, eggs, homemade home-fried potatoes, Italian sausage, fruit, pancakes, and a parfait. It was a lot but it was all fresh and fantastic. Probably the best place to get breakfast in Erie. For just a dollar or two more than your diner, you get a real breakfast that is totally worth it.

I think this is probably the best place to get breakfast in Erie. Super charming, great service and my food was delivered fast. I just went with a basic; scrambled eggs and bacon with an english muffin, but I can't wait till I can go back and indulge a little in the French Toast or Pancakes! The coffee was good and the price was cheap to fair. I will definitely be coming back.

This place was fantastic! We arrived at 8:30 AM on a beautiful Saturday morning and we got right in to a table - no waiting! Though, the food would have been worth any wait. Great music - a little Pat Metheny and some motown hits...a great atmosphere! I had the Huevos Rancheros and it was absolutley fabulous. The eggs were cooked to perfection...just oozy enough to dress the other elements of the dish. My mother had the corned beef hash. Normally, an order of corned beef looks something like it came out of a Hormel can. This was fresh, and obviously made in-house. All of the ingredients were fresh and clean, as was the restaurant. I have no real complaints! Great food, good service, a clean atmosphere - this place is a real winner. I will come back when in town!

I usually do not review out of state restaurants (I'm a Buffalo booster), but for the Summer House Cafe I will make an exception. I drove to Cleveland this weekend from Buffalo with my beautiful fiancee and her 7 year old, a.k.a. the "little prince". Right about half way through the trip the "little prince" made it known that he was ready to eat and we must stop immediately to sate his hunger pains or he shall scream. My resourceful and beautiful fiancee whipped out her...Yelp (such dirty minds)...and hence, she stumbled across the Summer House Cafe, which is about 8 minutes from the 90 and very close to the Erie Zoo. (I didn't even know Erie was big enough to have a zoo). When you walk in to the Summer House Cafe it is reminiscent of a Perkins, but the similarities stop there. I decided to try the local delicacy, the Ox Roast French Dip. An Ox Roast is similar to our Buffalo Roast Beef, but just like the comparison between Perkins and this restaurant, the Ox Roast blows our Roast Beef away. How can that be you ask, since Roast Beef is one of my Buffalo's most beloved delicacies? First off, this roast ox (beef) was cooked about a thousand times better then even our best roast beef. The beef was super tender and juicy...and packed with flavor. When Buffalonians roast their beef, they tend not to season it too much. This ox roast was seasoned with a variety of Germanic whole spices which included, caraway, fennel and coriander. Each bite of the sandwich highlighted a different flavor depending on which seed I bit into. The "jus" was amazing, very light in colour with a heavy thyme flavor, but with a lot of subtle nuances and a layer of the rendered beef fat. The bread was the perfect conduit to soak up the "jus" and it was topped with a blend of 4 melty and flavorful cheeses, and little itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in your mouth like flavor crystals (that was Harold and Kumar...can't take credit for that one). If you haven't figured it out by now, I truly loved this sandwich. Plus, it was served with a bleu cheese coleslaw dotted with whole caraway seeds. I really don't like coleslaw, but this one was kick-a$$ good. With a big glass of V8 Juice to wash it down this meal was definitely one for the books. My fiancee ordered the Cuban Sandwich which was also spectacular, but not nearly as perfect as my Ox Roast French Dip. It was topped with a thickish slab of roast pork, smoked ham, a creamy mustard with swollen mustard seeds, thick pickles and a beautiful melted Swiss. The "Little Prince" ordered a BLT minus the T because his palate is far too sensitive for such provincial tomatoes. He ordered the waiter to remove the T immediately from his sandwich as it was not to his liking. Since my lady friend and I adore everything bacon related we ravished the interior of his sandwich chowing down on the delicious thick cut maple smoked slabs of bacony goodness. While one would think this would upset the wee monarch, he was far too busy taking down large bites of my sandwich, which miraculously the entire table agreed was most excellent. The whole dipping thing intrigued him, and he left very pleased. Thank goodness because as everyone knows, if the "Little Prince" ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. This place is the ideal location to break up the 3 hour drive to Cleveland and highly recommended for ANY hungry travel with their own "Little Prince."

I came during lunch and breakfast when the place was pretty much empty, and the waitress still wasn't attentive nor personable. One time, they were bickering among themselves. With that said, the food here is definitely 5 stars.

Yum!

Great food and nice environment. The music could have been a little different but the food made up for it. We enjoyed our meal here. I had a breakfast burrito bacon cheese and egg. Yum!! Parking is easy outside and they have good coffee

We went here for breakfast and the food was really good but portions were small for the price and the bullet hole in the window behind me was a bit scary!

Savory Italian bread makes great toast and even better French Toast. But the winner was the unique and delicious Eggs a la Dante. Yelp leads us to the promised land yet again!

Never ordered anything here that I didn't absolutely love! My favorite place in Erie, hands down. Service can sometime be slow, especially during lunch hour, but always worth the wait! Coleslaw is to die for! I always order a side to put on my sandwiches.

Service is always great, the food is even better. New specials all the time. Soups of a different variety are always in season here. I love taking friends and family here. This is my favorite place to eat in Erie.

Visiting the area and stopped here based on other yelp reviews. We were not disappointed. Everything was made fresh and the fruit was fresh- not from a can. Deserts sounded heavenly but we were too full to try. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

Decent breakfast in Erie. Huge portions. Overall, not worth the 15 minute drive from our hotel. I'm sure we could have found the same level of food almost anywhere. Really good biscuits though.
