HORRENDOUS service. Ordered a hamburger. Waited nearly three hours. Walked in at 5:30 on a Saturday night. Not particularly busy. No service. Didn't place food and drink order until 6:15. Food didn't arrive until 8:00!

Very disappointing experience. It took 30 minutes for beers to be brought to the table. Also took 2 hours for our food to arrive!! We didn't even order anything complicated--just salads and a wrap. We were never updated on our orders by the waitress. Just very poor service all around. Only highlight was the affordability of the beers- 22oz beers for $5.25. Would recommend going somewhere else. When speaking with the manager, she took no responsibility for anything. Very disappointed.

Sandbar is one of those places that can only be described as a diamond in the rough. The wings here are simply the best wings I've had the pleasure of eating. Better than quite a few chains (wing street, Dominos, Buffalo wild wings to name a few) and the other menu items have yet to disappoint. My wife and I have been here at least once a week since we found it, and find happy hour deals (5-7pm) to be very affordable. There are some issues though, as without a technical hostess finding a seat or someone to take your order can be a pain, especially in the evening. We opted to go earlier in the day and became quite the regulars. One waitress even memorized our usual orders which is impressive. The staff, though few in number, truly do try to make the best of the setup and sometimes hectic crowds and do their best to serve with a smile. Nevertheless, I can see truth to several reviews about the need for a renovation and a to-go system that works (the number advertised didn't). Overall it is an experience that gets nicer, or rather easier to enjoy, the more you go. Sunset dining on the patio during the summer is a must do at least once in Erie.

Let's start off with the good: the have a decent draft selection and the prices are reasonable. The food is nothing special, but it isn't bad either. Now the bad... The service ranges from poor to terrible. I have been there several times when the restaurant is slow and the waitresses would rather be doing anything else than serving the few customers in the place. But what bothers me the most about the place is the fact that the owner/manager always seems to be sitting around the bar with her computer seemingly surfing the internet or conducting e-commerce or doing homework instead of managing the business. It just doesn't seem professional to me.

Extremely mediocre. We rode by here a few times on our trip.. its on the way to the park/beach. I looked up the reviews and noticed they were pretty bad, but alot of people had less than 10 reviews so maybe they were wrong. On our way home from Niagara Falls, we decided to stop in Erie (& the beach) one more time. After already driving two hours, we needed to refuel before heading off for another 2 hour drive. I decided to stop here.. we were too hungry to look around other spots and the patio seemed cute. Bobby ordered the mussels which came with fries (?) and i ordered a chicken bacon ranch wrap which also came with fries. Also, i ordered an unsweetened tea which was basically water.. never had that happen before and sent it back for a Coke. Bobby said his mussels had to came frozen in a bag and i felt the same about my (fried) chicken bacon ranch. Service wasn't any better.. It wasn't bad it just wasn't good, peppy service. We asked what their signature drinks were and instead of explaining them and making us eager to try one, she just flipped over our menu and pointed to the spot where drinks were. Also, after taking our plates we waited forever for the check,. Bobby actually decided to go look for her since we needed to hit the road. Again, mediocre. I'd say 2.5 stars--i really dont think 3 stars in appropriate. After driving away, we noticed 5 other spots that looked just as cool as the sandbar. Many other options throughout Erie.. skip over this one unless you're just heading to the bar or to play pool.

They have a great draft selection, but I'm almost positive my Guinness was watered down. Sat at a table and didn't get served. After about 15 minutes, we walked up to the bar to get our beers. Never got asked if we wanted a menu. I get that it was around 3:30, but come people still want to eat.

Stay away. Drunken idiots all over. Sat next to a drunk employee who started hitting on my wife. Owner is having an affair with an employee. This place could be so nice but it's filthy inside and out. They obviously don't take care of the property. The only reason it doesn't get 1 star is there are some nice bartenders and servers.

Good food, good prices, good drinks! The owner is always around and is super friendly. It isn't a wild bar by any means, but it's a nice location for a group of friends to drink and relax. However, although the price and selection of beer and liquor is pretty good, I do wish that the bartenders were able to make some classy drinks-- you can get a delicious chocolate martini, but if you're looking for an old fashioned or sazerac, you'll be out of luck. Bonus: the outdoor seating is very nice in the summer.

I have been to the Sandbar before and wasn't impressed with the service, took forever to get food. This time, the service was fine but the other customers were ridiculous. There was a group of 8 20 something's spread out through the patio yelling and swearing while talking about different sexual acts to each other. Due to the poor atmosphere several people were driven away. We mentioned our concerns to the waitress and were blown off with a "they're probably going to leave soon." Definitely not the best experience!

There is a great selection of beers - thirty on draft at any given time. They just revamped their menu and have thirty different wing flavors now. Their dry cajun and Jamaican Jerk are fantastic. It's definitely a "beach bar" away from the beach with great service, laid back music, and plenty of outdoor space to sit.

This was one of our first stops when we moved to Erie. I like the atmosphere of the majority of the bar/restaurant. You seat yourself, and there are either high tables, or low tables. The front room is a little dark, but it also seems quieter (unless a bend is playing there.) Service is nice, although the kitchen cannot keep up with the wait staff.... They're race through there like lightening! The food is like bar food. It's an easy place to go eat a decent meal.
