I love Olive Garden... I just don't understand why every time I visit this one I get an awful server! Ugh get it together OG!

I wouldn't count on them if you were ordering takeout. Disorganized and unfriendly staff - especially to one another.

Very neutral opinions on Olive Garden in general. I had the vegetarian minestrone; the only vegetarian option on the lunch menu, by the way. The soup tastes like pure salt, even after my second attempt at trying it. When I asked about it, I was told that the soup was "pure salt", and "100% sodium", and that's why it would taste like salt. Which seemed completely ridiculous to me, especially after having the soup in the past, when it actually had flavor.

The service is normally good , except they get the orders wrong quite often . I don't understand why they are so skimpy on the meat and sauce when I got the unlimited pasta bowl option.

Pretty good for a franchise italian food place. The service was good. They were always checking on us to make sure we didnt need anything. There soups were amazing. I had the tour of italy and if your hungry thats the way to go.

The place is always busy and the service was fine but this is the second time the place has been obscenely dirty! There were yellowish icky things floating in our water (not lemon) and there was a dark curly short hair in my boyfriends plate! (We are both blonde!) and there was dried lettuce on my fork before I used it!!!! I will never go back to this location even though I love Olive Garden. How gross!!!

Obviously it's fake Italian food, it's Olive Garden after all. All I gotta say is I had a waitress named Erin, and she provided the most exemplary customer service I've ever seen. I've never left more impressed in a waitress. I left her a 50% tip.

We arrived at 5.00 ish and there was quite a line. We waited at the bar and were seated in 20 minutes as promised. The waitress was nice and efficient but the food took a long time to arrive. The salad was fresh and tasty, although I did end up with a big chunk of lettuce heart lol. The bread was warm and garlicky. Our pasta was tasty, but we waited a very long time for the check! I also waited I'm vain for a final drink refill and left a little thirsty! There is a race this weekend so they may be busier than usual.

Service: Granted, we arrived at 11:30am on a Sunday, so it was pretty early and we missed the typical "Olive Garden Insanity" in the lobby. However, we were sat immediately, the server was wonderful, our food came out quick, we were visited many times, drinks and salads were refilled timely, and even though we didn't want more soup, we were offered anyway. Food: Truthfully, I'm not an olive garden fan. However, my wife (like most women) loves the place. I typically will eat some seafood pasta dish and then destroy the salad and breadsticks with some alfredo dipping sauce (yeah, really healthy). So, for Olive Garden being Olive Garden, I can't give it a bad rating for food. It's just okay to me. I've had much better Italian, but they do it pretty well. Ambiance: Well, you know what you're getting when you go into an Olive Garden. They're all the same, so not much to say here. Just fine to me. Price: Prices have been going up across the board on both food and energy in the US, so every time you go out to eat, it's likely going to cost you about 20% more than it did 5 yrs ago. However, Olive Garden tends to keep its prices pretty low, relatively speaking. Overall: I would much rather hit up a locally owned Italian joint or even a Carraba's before walking into an Olive Garden. The food is better and the lines are shorter. However, in the interest of keeping my wifey happy (which keeps me happy), I'll give it an "A-OK" for the record.

Everything you would expect from a big chain restaurant. Long wait time for a table because it's always packed, long wait time for your average food. I eat here a lot actually because my group of friends seems to love it and it's always the same. Pasta sauce is greasy. Go local!

Very busy around 5pm on a Sunday. We ate and got full off of our salad and bread sticks before we even got our meal. Waited at least 45 mins.

We stopped here for dinner on our way home from our vacation in Washington, DC. Our Drive Home Dinner at Olive Garden is now a can't miss part of our US road trips. We enjoyed the food, especially the dessert. The service was good as well. We got stuck in terrible main-drag Erie traffic afterwards while working our way back to the interstate, but that certainly isn't the Restaurants fault! I wish we had them back in Canada, but then it wouldn't be a big deal to go when we were in the US!

I guess this restaurant would be a good example of how bad service can leave a bad taste in your mouth. I've gone here several times because people keep giving me gift cards... Food is decent at best. My bridesmaids and I went to lunch here to talk over some things about my then impending wedding, by the end, we were convinced that they waitress was just trying to p us off. Food was misordered, and the waitress was trying to convince us that it's what we told her. Rediculous. I don't even like shrimp. Why on earth would I order it? My friend can't stand lemon in her water, and everytime that water would come, it would have a lemon in it. Mine, on the other hand... I like lemon... No lemon in mine. When we got the bill, it was another nightmare. Orders were screwed up. I wouldn't be surprised if I found out the waitress had spit in our meals. I was so enraged by the time I left...

I have to admit, I am a OG fan. I stop in one when I get a chance. Fine, to the naysayers that it isn't authentic Italian, I don't go for authentic Italian, I go because it typically delivers great Ameritalian. But, not all OG's are created equal. Some attract lousy staff, something to spoil the experience. But not this time! I was joining family in 3 groups. Communication was broken down, so I ended up sitting at one table for 6, they reserved a spot elsewhere for 7. When our screw up was brought to light (calling each other in the restaurant about 10 feet apart), the staff made light of the whole thing. Oh yeah, screwing up a table of 6 or 7 is OK by us? Well, even if it wasn't, they played along. Our server, Paul, instantly picked up on that being friendly, clever and witty would be welcome, and he brought his A game. So much fun, and never crossed the line with mixed company on board. Just fun, which is delightful to be around. And the food, which is why we go, was very nice. I have been to some OG's where the food was slapped together by people with other things on their minds, but not here. It received good reviews from the entire table of not so easy to please diners. A rarity in our group. So, OG Erie, and especially Paul - we had a great time, hope to see you again soon!

omg... Here I sit, salivating at the thought of visiting Erie next week and indulging in the wonderful Mom'n'Pop Italian eateries that I don't see in California. Many of them are gone (Chuck & Ginny's, I miss you dearly), but enough remain to satisfy. Just off the top of my head, I will definitely be heading to Ricardo's, Hector's, & Nunzi's. And we're sure to stop at others I've forgotten or will discover for the first time this year. After growing up in Erie, I have been disappointed with the so-called Italian fare at Olive Garden in various cities. Eating there while IN Erie... unthinkable!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
