I loved it here. The tasting room is beautiful and the staff is friendly and passionate about their craft. My friend and I shared a flight of six beers. Our favorite was the breakfast stout so we got pints of that. We shared an order of the beer cheese dip which came with kettle chips and it was tastier than I've had at other places. We shared the loaded potato sandwich which was the daily special and it was delicious, plenty big enough to share. We are looking forward to going back.

Good selection of their tap beers. Well crafted and thoughtful. They understand their craft and clearly love what they do. The meal offerings might seem sparse but each plate was clever and very tasty. A great comfortable place, and will make this place a stop next time I'm back in town.

Let me start by saying that the beer here is -absolutely incredible- There is nothing these guys can't brew, and bravo for that. They are amazing. The food is, however, absolutely terrible. There is almost nothing on the menu worth eating. This would literally be a five-star review but for the food. Keep brewing beer!

God opened up the clouds and said, "Tom, I give you Lavery's." This place is incredible. They brew some of the most delicious and appetizing beers I've ever drank in my life. I've been buying by the growler and glass from here for a long time. The pub is unique in that you feel like you are in an authentic Dublin (or more properly, Belfast, as it seems their flag of Tyrone and Belfast Black suggests that their lineage descends from there) bar. Good beer selections: the Dulachan is the kush of craft beers. Belfast Black is great. Haven't been there since St. Patty's but I guarantee they've produced some great stuff since then.

Their slogan is "Brewing innovative ales in small batches" - and these guys undoubtedly live up to that promise. Like Voodoo Brewery in Meadville, they focus on quality and uniqueness to the point of obsession. It seems everyone has their opinion on what their best beer is, so my advice would be to try them all. Their Dulachan India Pale Ale is unique in that they have it in cans - which is strange for an IPA, but it works. Their fall pumpkin ale is surpassed only by Southern Tier's. And their Liopard Oir is a beer unlike any other I've tasted. Erie has some really great breweries. Lavery's, which is still pretty new to the game, surpasses them all in terms of quality and flavor. They're the real deal. And the new pub, where you can get their beers fresh on tap, makes the Erie bar scene that much better.

I recently visited Lavery Brewing for the first time with some friends after hearing lots of good things. We all loved it and agreed that we'll be returning soon. I'm a big IPA fan and am looking forward to another glass of their Madra Allta brew on my return visit... Really hoppy and delicious :) Overall, Lavery's has a great atmosphere and is a good unique Erie spot to hang out, socialize, and maybe play a board game (provided). Great prices and definitely more relaxed than other downtown venues on a Friday night. We didn't get any food, as the kitchen was closed, but the menu looked great as well with solid options to best accompany your brew. Highly recommended!

Great brewpub. Came in from our of town for a wedding and stopped by here for some before. Amazing place with a small menu but great food. Definitely try the flight sampler of all their beers.

Great little brewpub. The place is tucked away in the first floor of an office building, and feels like a much-needed hideaway from the daily grind. The Dulachan IPA , which I selected, was very good indeed, and the others in our party all were impressed with their selections too. Great to have these beers fresh on tap, and they have other selections in bottles as well. My wife, who doesn't drink, had to make do with a bottle of Sprite. Lavery's does have a limited menu, with typical pub fare, including the local favorite Smith's Ox Roast. In all, just a friendly, comfy place to be on a cold winter's night. Active, but not loud--a great alternative to the noisy bars of downtown, and really, you're getting MUCH better beers for the same price, We had a great time, and will be back in a week or two.

Excellent beer. Love each one I tried. Menu is short but the food is fabulous. We had the meat and cheese platter and the irish slider trios. Top notch. Bartender Derrick was awesome. He was fun and tolerated our jokes and humor. If we are in the area again we will be back.

A fine brewing and drinking establishment in good old Erie, PA! You may be a little worried you're in the wrong place, just by walking through the back door. But alas, you're getting a sneak peek into their brewing process and beyond the golden brewers, there's a cute little pub nestled inside. Although it may be a little early for you all to stomach, they have their seasonal fall brew on tap now, the Devil's Pumpkin Ale. I must say, it's quite delicious. I was glad the bartender let me sample a couple of their other beers before I decided. I know this shouldn't happen, but I hate going somewhere and the bartenders are all moody about your sampling. I promise I'm going to buy a pint! Super awesome tip, check-in on Yelp and get a free Lavery Brewing sticker!

I think lavery brewery is probably the best amongst the Erie beer trail without question. The place is small and the cook kettles are located in a dark hallway where the restroom happen to be which is probably one of the oddest setups I've ever been too at a brewery. The beers are good, but like many they taste very similar to their brewery neighbors. I tried the black lager and the imperial red. The black tastes like a brew I've had 100 times over and I really wish more went bold, full of flavor and different. The red however tasted great with a nice finish too it I liked it and yes I love my dark beers but not here apparently! I think lavery is a cool place, but I'm not sure why there's a tattoo parlor inside the brewery, I'm not sure some people would care for a guy getting ink'ed making noises is exactly what they want to hear (this was the case yesterday for Christmas in July) I just heard people complaining is all. Me? Who cares! I'll stop back, maybe their winter darks are better!

A quick stop on a cross country road trip lead us to this gem due to other yelp reviews. Definitely worth the stop! We tried the ravioli sandwich and the Irish trio - both of which were extremely flavorful and good. I tried the tester flight of craft beer and loved both the Dixon cider and the madre allta IPA. My partner in crime chose to sample the local wine from six mile cellars which he didn't care for, which is why we have only 4 stars. Happy girl has a 4 pack of the IPA to go :) I encourage you to drive off the beaten path and try this spot out.

A basic little brewery with some amazing beer. I had a chance to kill an hour here and ordered a flight. All of the beers were decent but the Imperial French Ale stole the show - A stunning Belgian strong ale, very rich. Think barleywine with a hint of orange. The bartender was very knowledgeable about their beer and friendly too. Atmosphere is nice enough - Comfortable vibe and quiet. A terrific place to chill. The location is a bit odd and difficult to find but there's ample parking. I plan to write a more detailed review once I have a chance to try the food.

Awesome food! I had the Irish Slider Trio and my boyfriend had the Lavery's Pulled Pork and both were delicious. He said the pulled pork was one of the best he's had and I really liked the sliders. The employees were very friendly, beer was great, and food was awesome.

This beer is awesome. I feel like breweries are a dime a dozen these days and a lot are hard to connect with. This brewery only has six on tap at a time, with a special wine offering on tap as well. The taproom is fun and comfortable, and very cozy. The beer is high quality and unique but not too hipster or weird. This is my favorite brewery in this part of the state!

Chill spot for having a good brew. We were in town for a wedding. This was a definite gem between ceremony and reception. Menu looks tasty but we didn't try anything.

We had wanted to check out the Erie Zoo for quite some time and when we decided to head there earlier this year I researched breweries and found Lavery. Unfortunately we didn't make it down there then and waited til September now to finally take a day trip. We arrived right around opening. It is located in a big building off to the side with a giant parking lot. There is a sign with LAVERY BREWING on it but I didn't see the brewery itself until we parked and looked. Once we walked in you're greeted by the giant tanks of brewing, walk down a hallway that gets you into the taproom. It is nothing massive but a great sized room for a brewery with a decent sized bar. We were greeted immediately and tried the sampler which gave us all the beers. WOW the beers were good. I had recently had their DulachanIPA which arrived in Buffalo and we were really big fans of it. They had a different IPA on called MAdra Allta which also was fantastic with more of a bitter taste. The breakfast stout is just fantastic...strong coffee taste and one of the top 10 stouts I've ever had (and I've tried 100s over my time). The pumpkin beer also was real good. THe other beers were good too but these 3 stood out to me. We were told they were having their 1 year anniversary party that night so I wish them many more anniversary parties in the future. This place was great, great service, we didn't eat but the food menu looked great, and great beer! I've done the other breweries in Erie this is the only one worth going to so check them out!

I love coming home to visit my mom and finding out about new breweries! I read about the Erie Ale Trail in the visitors guide and was super excited! I wrote down the 4 new names but only made it to 1 on this trip. Lavery hooked us with a great website and when I called about outdoor seating they said yes! A quick note about outdoor seating.. its the smoking patio near the parking lot.. so well I skipped that part and just sat inside and drank a sampler. For $13 I got a taster of all 6 beers and some crackers to munch on. My mom ordered a glass of a local wine (they said they usually have 1 or 2 on tap). The beers were pretty solid and I was surprised that my favorite beer was the Hoppy Pale Ale. It was refreshing and nicely bitter. The French Ale was a traditional sour so I drank it super fast, not really liking sours. They also did a great job on their stout. I unfortunately drink so many bad stouts and have come to judge breweries on the quality of their stout, and this had a great taste with chocolatey coffee notes. The bartender was super friendly and welcomed us out of towners, giving us a little history of the place. The inside decor was casual and friendly and there were some fun board games in bookshelves to play and get you to stay a little longer and enjoy another beer. I will definitely be back here on my next trip home!!

I am rating only on the beer (I did not eat here). The location is a bit odd and you may feel weary while place parking but once you walk in your opinion of the place will change drastically. The tasting room is awesome. It is what a tasting room should look and feel like. It was small but had a great relaxed vibe. My family and I tried the flight of beers and I was highly impressed. The service was fantastic as well. I recommend trying this place and will be back when I am in town!

What a great addition to downtown. I had saw Lavery beers pop up a few times in Pittsburgh over the past year, including at Beers of the Burgh, and knew I needed to stop once I was back in town. The brewpub is a comfy hangout with a small bar, a few tables, and another long high top with bar stools. I've had both the Madra Alta and Dulachan IPAs. Both are very solid offerings but I prefer the Madra Alta as the Dulachan is a little tamer. I think both could use a little more punch, though. My favorite beer of the night was the Ulster Breakfast Stout! I would come back for that. The Erie craft scene continues to get better, with Lavery right at the front.
