I was excited by the prospect of eating real mexican food, so my daughter and I stopped there yesterday. I got a rude comment about my Penn State sweatshirt. That should have been enough to head out the door right then. But, we were curious, having never eaten there before. the girl acted annoyed to "explain" how to order. I got a burrito with the beef, rice, beans, cheese salsa, and paid the extra buck eighty for the guac. My daughter had hers in a bowl. We also got a sid eof chips and salsa and a drink. Total, just under $20 for the two of us. Our food was completely cold, but the overall flavor was ok. nothing special, but ok. Not a salt shaker in sight and I really could have used one. The chips and salsa were good though. I really liked the lime flavored salt on the chips. Sadly, not enough to go back again. Sorry.

I usually enjoy eating at Chipotle but this last experience was terrible. While the food was great the cleanliness left something to be desired. The tables and floor were disgustingly filthy. I wasn't the only person to feel that way. Someone actually went up to complain and said he wouldn't be back again. I have to say I just agree with him.

My family was driving home and finally found this place which was sure to appeal to all 10 of us. It is right off the highway which made it easy to access. The staff was very friendly and courteous even though it was closing time. We were all happy to hear they were welcoming and ready to serve us at this late hour. They even didn't mind that we sat and ate on location. The food was fresh and good. Gaucamole was terrific as usual.

Had lunch there yesterday. No need to return. Dirty tables and floor and glass. Burned out light bulbs and torn stool covers. Staff was rather disinterested to say the least and the food no better.

This is your ONLY purveyor of edible Mexican food in Erie, PA. This is your ONLY purveyor of responsibly sourced, prepared food in Erie, PA. Compared to the other dives in Erie serving garbage and passing it off as Mexican, Chipotle should be a Mecca ... Sadly, I am not sure Erie is ready for Chipotle. Rust Belt denizens unfortunately haven't really caught on to the idea of caring about where your food came from ... Chipotle does a phenomenal job of sourcing their food. You cannot find better ingredients at a chain restaurant (and NO, Chipotle is not owned by McDonald's - google it), period. This is gourmet food for fast food prices. I am sure follow-on reviews will lament having to actually pay separately for the (made fresh daily) chips, guac, and salsa. Someone will no doubt complain that they don't slop liquid gooey faux cheese all over your meal, or that they don't offer ground beef. Someone else will complain that $6.85 is spendy for a burrito. If you're among those complaining, stick to the flavored sawdust from Taco Bell ... there is no help for you.

There's just something that's always off about this Chipotle. I will say that the food is always fresh and good, but service is really hit or miss. They have often gotten my order wrong because it has been so busy and they aren't paying attention. They rush you through your order and then usually don't listen. For example, during my last visit, they forgot my chicken in my burrito bowl! I ended up just getting a bowl of beans and salsa. It was so busy and the workers were so wrapped up in moving the line along that I couldn't even try to correct it. Secondly, in the last month that I've been going to this location, they have been out of chips, guacamole (bad shipment, not entirely their fault but they were out for 2 weeks), and sour cream. What? I also never get rice in my burrito bowl. I always ask for double beans and they give me the tiniest amount ever. I always have to ask them to put more in because I didn't get rice. It usually ends up being a pretty anemic bowl. I will likely keep coming back because I really enjoy the taste of the food, but I hope they fix some of their service issues!

I normally love Chipotle and always get the chicken bowl. I decided for the first time to try the steak bowl and the steak was completely inedible. Every piece was tough as shoe leather. I ended up picking out all the steak and could only eat the rest. Very disappointed. Why cheap out and only serve the worst cut of meat?

I've only ever tried the chicken and beef burritos, but I've never found them to have much taste/flavor unfortunately. Its a room temperature burrito, maybe that's why I find it so unsatisfying, I'm used to something hitting me in the mouth more.

Like the other reviews....if you've been to one Chipotle....you've been to them all. I frequently eat it in San Diego and in Orange County. I didn't find anything to be different in Erie. So to that I say, thank you Erie, for having the sense to bring a decent choice of Mexican food to your hood! As far as the service goes...I had a great experience. (I mean its a cafeteria really). These are not servers that are bringing food to you and are expected to add to your dining ambiance! The girl who helped me was actually very nice! She is the only reason why I WOULD come on here and right a review about a Chipotle....in freaking Erie. I left the place immediately thinking about how I was going to get on my computer and talk about the nice service and upbeat personality of my salad maker. So that should say something about the service :-)

I been to many chipotles, it def is a place that grows on you. I personally can't compare a fast food burrito place to a Mexican restaurant but it is addicting. They do have the best guacamole I ever had. Especially if your a avocado fan. Ad they have sour cream that will bring you back. However on the bad side. This location doesn't keep up with the cleanliness of the restaurant. Dirty tables sit for log periods during lunch and dinner time, sometimes you have to clean them yourself. And depending on who help you. Some are very nice and some are very unprofessional.

The shredded beef is amazing. Corn salsa and green salsa great. The staff is always friendly. I love this restaurant and refuse to be mediocre with moe's or quidoba

It's a Chipotle. If you've been to one, you've experienced what they have to offer. But in the stark eating out environment that is Erie, Chipotle is a shining beacon of hope. Erie isn't known for having any sort of Mexican food that's good- Taco Bell is about as good as it gets. So for people needing something that isnt Taco Bell or pizza, Chipotle is a welcome relief.

The food is excellent! Fresh and clean. The service is great. I just wish there was more seating but other then that it's good. I recommend this place for a nice quick meal.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is the best fast food Mexican you can get in Erie. I don't consider Taco Bell to be Mexican since its a spin off of pizzahut corp. The food is made fresh not frozen and you know what you are getting. I think that's most important, the idea of you know what you are getting. If you don't then it could be dangerous. Eating out is adventurous but knowing what you get and what to expect are paramount.

The food is good, but the cleanliness has a lot to be desired. The restaurant was filthy. Every table was dirty and there was trash all over the floor. The beverage area was a mess and the bathroom was disgusting. There was no excuse for this condition as there were very few patrons in the restaurant. The customers that were there were actually cleaning their own tables. They really need to clean up their act.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
