The REAL ORIGINAL Jimmy's on the Delaware. The tall Greek guy and the short balding Greek guy have been sticking forks in hot oil and pulling out crispy skinned hot dogs since my dad was a kid and he'd go to their location at the Free Bridge between P'burg and Easton . Just plain Easton style dogs: Mustard, Raw Onion, a dill pickle sliced in half lengthwise. Get the chocolate milk with it. A very full meal will cost you less than a $5 bill. If you want to see the more interesting part of the Lehigh Valley (and the odd Maryland Fried Chicken that I worked in as a teen) take the trip to Jimmy's, right off Route 22 at the 25th Street exit. I guarantee you will love it .

Jimmy's is the best hands down. Taste, value, and service are always top-notch. Chocolate milk is a good recommendation, but so is a beer (but they don't sell beer). Every time I get to Easton, I get to Jimmy's. As for hot dogs, I couldn't recommend Jimmy's any higher. A "must visit" for any hot dog fan. I was in the USAF stationed in Colorado Springs in the mid 90s. I walked into a break room at work and saw a co-worker eating his lunch. I recognized the plastic that wrapped the hot dog he was eating was from Jimmy's. I immediately asked him where he got that from and where he was from. Turns out his wife just had flown back and brought a whole cooler full of dogs. He was from P'burg and shared some of his dogs with me that day. Small world.

One of the best hot dogs that I have ever had and probably one of the best values in the US. My wife is from Easton and I look so forward to visiting so that I can go to Jimmy's. My father in law grew up on these things. Don't be fooled by Jimmy's on the Delaware, these guys are the originals. You will be hard pressed to find a better dog!!!

I spent about 20 years of my life eating hot dogs here. Up until about a month ago I was a fan of the place. I walk in one day and there's a sign that says no credit cards... Welp, that's where I stop. I'm sorry but it's 2011 and if you don't get away from the year 2000 then I can't support the business. If you got cash go here, if you don't, try elsewhere.

Jimmy's at 25th Street is a fantastic dog. Been doing great dogs since i was a kid. Jimmy's on the Delaware are not even close. They are the faux Jimmy's.

This was sent to me by Sofia M. regarding the history of Jim's Doggie Stand: "SOME HISTORY 1908-Mr Jim Makris began selling hot dogs in Easton. He used a push cart. 1910-Mr Jim Makris came to Union Square at the old Penn Railroad Passenger Station, which stood where the gas station is. He used a push cart until he built his first stand. Late 1940's-He built a modern cup stand a short distance behind the bridge shanty. In 1966, the cup was destroyed. 1966-This was the year Jim's Doggie Stand moved into Union Square after his nearby cup-type stand was damaged beyond repair by a runaway pickup truck driven by a 16 year old youth from Easton. Baines and Radio & T.V.had moved to Warren St. in P'burg and Jim moved his business into this location immediately. It continued to thrive as usual. 1990- It permanently closed down.Mr Jim Makris died in 1993 at the age of 97.Mr Jimmy Apostolopoulos and Mr. Frank Bounoutas whom worked for Mr Jim Makris opened up their own business shortly after. at 25th street shopping center in Easton. They are not affiliated with this business. SMB Construction 2004 has modernized the former Jim's Doggie Stand. 2004-Mr.Bill Wright-Jimmy's on the Delaware opened but closed its doors in 2008. 2009-Jimmy's Doggie Stand opens continuing the tradition of selling hot dogs here at this location. This business is not affiliated with any other. Mr Harry Zikas Sr and Mr Nick Malatos are owners. Pictures and history inside the building are from Mr Ron Wynkoop Historian Phillipsburg Thank You."

Jimmy's is great, and not to be missed if looking for great dog places in the Lehigh Valley but it is not my favorite hot dog in the area and for that I needed to knock a star off. Still great, and still cravable just not my favorite. It's a favorite, but not as much. Not as much favorite.

Jimmy's... What can you say, they are wonderful, if you like onions then go for the everything. I suggest 3 dogs and 2 chocolate milk, it is some magical combination with the sweet and sour it really works!

Good hot dogs....and don't forget the chocolate milk!

My father grew up on Jimmy's hot dogs and he shared his love with us over 35 years ago. Jimmy has been in a few places but his dogs have never changed. Come on now, who remembers the cool little spot by the bridge, use to love grabbing a dog and watching the ships pass by. I love how as I get older there are places that I can visit that never change in quality.

This is the place to go when all you have is a dollar or two in spare change. Awesome hot dogs and the name is what they sell... hot dogs and some soda. It's a local joint with no place to sit. I usually get the Everything but make sure you have some mints handy as your breath will be felonious after eating here.

Jimmy's has very good dogs. You can't beat a couple of dogs with mustard, onions and pickles. They have a great taste to them and everything blends in well. This place is also incredibly cheap - it will not put a dent in the pocket at all. I am not from the area, but I can't imagine the Lehigh Valley having a better hot dog spot.

  • Kelly C.

I read one review that they buy these hot dogs in bulk and freeze them because they are so good???? Really? have you ever heard of such a thing? ABSOLUTELY GROSS HABIT. But i guess i could expect a review like that from people who think hot dogs are gourmet food. Its a hotdog. it's neither here nor there..

    (3)
  • Kali C.

My family literally drives 2 hours for these hotdogs!! We buy dozens and freeze them thats how good they are!! They are cheap, and so so good! YUM!!

  • Jrod B.

You go here for hot dogs. Plain and simple. Anyone who complains they don't have a menu with other items missed the boat. Shut up and eat their hot dogs because they're awesome.

    (5)
  • Carol L.

Warm, yummy, fast, cheap.. as good as it gets! Things to note: Mostly a take-out place. It's tiny and doesn't have tables and chairs. BYOK.. (bring your own ketchup haha)

The best hot dog in the Lehigh Valley. Period.

Booyah! Jimmy's hot dogs are the best. Keep it classy Jimmy!

Always so good here and they've been around for so long, the one thing that stops me from going here is the RUDE ASS employees.

I realize that I may be in the minority here, but I was grossed out when the cook touched the hot dogs with his bare fingers. Actually, he grasped them with his fingernails. Being kind of a pushover, I paid for my meal and promptly tossed it in the trash. I can't say anything about how the food tastes, obviously. This is a simple fix and can easily be remedied by requiring cooks to use tongs to pick up hot dogs and place them into the bun. I hate posting bad reviews, but I chose to do it because it's something that can be changed without any hardship to the owner or staff.

4 stars for a quality hot dog. Im not a hot dog fan but my father decided to take me here. Very small place. Line was long and there were no tables. Eating in the car was kinda a down fall and in convent but the hotdog it self was pretty good. They def should at least put a few tables in side. *cash only*

  • Brit D.

No doubt, the best hotdog in thee high valley. This place should be on at tv show. It's like one of those little places that you'd never think is anything but is totally awesome! Plus a hotdog all dressed up is just over a dollar. GO HERE!

  • The D.

That's all they do is hot dogs! And they were worth the extra 15 minutes it added to my trip!

AMAZING. I'll go as far as to say Best Hot Dog I've ever eaten. Woah, I know, big title to be throwing around. My fiance had always raved about Jimmy's (she grew up in Easton), so I decided we should stop by around the holidays. We were there around 2:30PM on a Monday and the line was out the door. Simple shop setup: a register and a guy asks you "How many?" Cash only and there is no seating at all. Everything is "to go." The menu consists of hot dogs, chips, and Coke products. I ordered 3 hot dogs "with everything" (mustard, raw onions, and a pickle). For $1.10 each, how could you not indulge in more than 1? Piping hot, fresh onions and pickles, and the buns are perfect New York style hot dog buns that were very fresh. Overall, the service was great, the food was delicious, and the quality was top notch. Jimmy's is now a top priority when we are back in the area. Keep it up guys.

This really is a little "hole in the wall" as there is a counter where you order, two or three people making, wrapping and taking orders. There are no table's at all so plan on eating in your car or taking it with you. It's pretty basic for the menu - order a hot dog and top it with ketchup, mustard, raw onions and a pickle wedge. You get a boiled dog with your toppings on a steamed bun. Simple enough then grab a bag of chips and a fountain soda if you would like. Everything was tasty; the downside for me personally is that the hot dogs were boiled which I don't really care for. But if you don't mind them then you are going to really like them!

It is a Four because they have set narrow parameters for what they are trying to do, and they do a good job of it. No chili, no relish, no jalapenos. How many weiners do you want, and which of the three allowable condiments do you want. That's it. $ 1.15 a pop as of this writing. Good quality Dog, not crazy good, but good. I try not to duplicate other folks pics, like every tourist near home who feels compelled to snap yet another rivetting shot of a Mike's canolli, so you can see shots others took of the spartan order board etc. It was an interesting crowd the Saturday evening I went. Young couples, young kids by themselves, pairs of middle aged ladies. All these people had to have made a point of coming to this strip mall where three other adjacent food joints have gone belly up. The line was to the door. Truly a unique place.

After hearing rave reviews from the locals, I had to stop in. Bare bones setup - no tables or chairs, cash only, simple menu. I ordered six with everything, which includes mustard, raw onion and a pickle. For those complaining about the hygiene aspect of the operation, everyone handling the food had disposable gloves on. When I brought them home, I deconstructed the dog and found a little more onion than I would have liked. The pickle was sweet. The dog and bun were steamed. The flavor profile came primarily from the pickle and I was surprised the onion didn't provide that bitter shock of flavor - it was mild and worked well with the mustard. While you'll read raves and raves, I found nothing spectacular about the hot dogs. The fact they are steamed makes them very good and enjoyable, but I wouldn't go out of my way. If these were topped with a chili or sauce, they would really be onto something. I think the nostalgia aspect of Jimmy's is what brings people in. Small and local, nothing big or fancy, real people making real food. Just wish they had some chili.

Some of the best dogs on the planet! Been eating them for 50 years. Only wish they could mail them to me in Texas! 2 dogs with everything, chips and a couple of chocolate milks!!! Heaven on earth!!!

Maybe there are hotdog gourmets who would disagree, but for me - and most everyone I've talked to about the establishment - Jimmy's is the pinnacle of the local hotdog scene. I mean, I imagine. If hotdogs were a "scene." Like the other reviews have stated, Jimmy's is a no-frills, simple place to get the best hot dogs in the city and, from what I've tried, the best hotdogs in Northampton County and its neighboring counties. Just keep in mind that there are no tables in the place. And "everything" means "no ketchup." Everything is mustard, a pickle, and chopped onions on your dog. I don't know what ketchup did to the owners or their loved ones. It must have been terrible. Brown bag? Crinkled plastic wrapping? Palpable hatred for tomato-based products? Best tasting hotdogs in Eastern Pennsylvania/Western New Jersey? Must be Jimmy's.

I'm going to put this in simple terms for people. People might give 5 stars because the like the hot dogs there AND they have fond memories of childhood involving this place, their family, and a chocolate milk People might give it 4 stars if they were hungry, went here, and for a very reasonalbe price, got two hot dogs for $2 and it seemed like a good dog on a fresh roll. People might give 3 starts if you read the 4 & 5 star ratings, and feel tricked because in the end, it is just a hot dog. I have had Jimmy's....and it is very affordable, and not bad at all. In fact, I like them. However....IT'S A HOT DOG.....it not even your Hebrew National, Sabrett, or Nathan's type....it's your basic Hatfield / Berks / Ball Park style dog. No atmosphere. No earth shattering special way they are cooked. It's a hot dog.

I LOVE their hotdogs. Grew up eating hotdogs from Jimmy's! I now live in va and need to stop here every time I make my way back to the area. The pickles are so so so good. I'm kind of laughing at the reviewer saying he will no longer go here because they don't accept cards. Do you realize that it's not free for businesses to process card transactions? With their prices being so low they can't afford to take cards. They would be paying more in fees than the food is worth.

Knowing that I would be in Easton on this day I did a quick search for food in the area on Yelp and came up with this place. After that I consulted my Roadfood book and what do you know, Jimmy's was in there. Jimmy's is located in a strip mall. Kind of odd, but I guess there are some things that aren't horrible at strip malls. When we got there, the line was just about out the door. Good sign. The menu is very simple. Hot dogs and drinks. I got two with everything which is mustard, onions and a pickle. The elderly gentleman behind the counter (Jimmy?) wrapped those up in some paper/plastic stuff and popped them in a paper bag with the chocolate milk I also ordered. Hot dogs are 95 cents plus tax. I think they come to $1 after tax. There are no tables inside so my friend and I just went out front and ate on the curb. I didn't mind it at all. It was the perfect place to sit with a couple of dogs. The dogs had a good bite. A bit difficult to eat with the big pickle on top, but that is a minor thing. They don't get much more straight forward than Jimmy's.

Storefront with minimal menu. Had the standard Easton/Pburg dog: fried dog with mustard pickle and onion. Nice ratio. Dog was fresh. Pickle overwhelmed the dog.

One of the best hot dog places in America. Coming from a New Yorker I rather choose Jimmy's over Nathans. Maybe it's because it feels better giving to a local business or maybe its because its quality is equal or maybe its because you can't get a high five or anything else for a dollar any more. Great hot dogs, even though they can do better with the drinks in a carton box. This isn't exactly middle school lunch time, give me a bottle or something up to date.

As others have said, this is just a storefront counter with no place to sit, but the food is just about as good as a southeast PA dawg gets. The majority of customers seem to sit in their cars and eat the dogs. My son loves to get the old-skool style cartons of chocolate milk with his dawgs. Yum -- if you're five. The key ingredients are the steamed buns and the slices of pickle. The franks themselves also seem to be steamed somehow, but no matter -- they are not char-grilled, and personally, I think it's all for the better. Jimmy's wins extra points for using the pleasantly flavored and locally sourced R&R Provisions franks, from our very own Easton. How do I know this? I saw a worker unloading a box, spotted R&R's blue and white packaging, and verified with the white-haired woman at the counter. I agree with others that Yocco's franks aren't as good. Personally, I think the Hatfield-brand franks used at Yoccos are too salty, but that's perhaps just a matter of taste? On the other hand, I find Toby's Cup in Phillipsburg to have a slight edge on Jimmy's in terms of mouth-feel and flavor, which is more a tad more robust than Jimmy's. Overall, I like Jimmy's. It is what it is in terms of healthiness. Don't eat these 7 days a week, right? But if you want to indulge once in a while, I can think of no better place for hotdogs -- except for Toby's Cup, across the river in Phillipsburg, which wins for originality.

If you've ever seen the "Soup Nazi" episode of Seinfeld it's sort of like that only the old men aren't mean to you or ban you for 1 year. There is almost always a line out the door at lunch time, especially on a warm day but like a well oiled machine it moves swift and efficiently. There are limited menu items...hot dogs and that's it, unless you want some chips, soda, or for whatever reason chocolate milk. There is a clear system. You walk up in the line on the right, they ask you how many. You tell them, you step to the left, then the old men ask what kind? Everything means 3 out of the 4 possible options: onions, pickle, mustard, the 4th option being ketchup. They make them wrap them and bag them probably faster than you can tie your shoelace and for an insanely cheap price. Anyone that claims that flashy Yocco's with their billboards and old cheesy commercials is the best is either lying to themselves or simply ignorant that Jimmy's exists. Jimmy's is the pinnacle of hot dog perfection and an Easton legend.

What can you say? Cheap great hotdogs. A great concept with nothing spectacular to have to wrap your head around. If you want to be extra healthy get 3 dogs, 2 chocolate milks and pull up to McDonalds and get a large fry. What a meal. I seriously looked at myself in my rear view mirror while sitting in the parking lot and thought "what the heck am I doing?" Not so healthy or classy but boy its a great meal.

This is an Easton institution and for a good reason. Basically all Jimmy's sells is hot dogs and yet they frequently have lines out the door (don't worry, it usually moves quickly). I have moved from my hometown of Easton, but make it a point to stop at Jimmy's every time I am in town. I don't eat hot dogs that often, but Jimmy's are really worth it! Jimmy's is located in a strip mall and the storefront is very basic and there is no indoor seating, but you'll find people outside on benches or in their cars eating their hot dogs if they just couldn't wait until they got home. The staff is very friendly and you can order your hot dog with any topping combo they have (mustard, ketchup, pickle (not relish), or diced onions). They offer fountain sodas and different varieties of Keystone chips (another local favorite) if you want more than just a hot dog for your meal. Jimmy's should definitely be a stop on your itinerary if you are in Easton.

I grew up on these dogs, and even though I moved to Bethlehem in high school, Yocco's and Pott's still can't touch Jimmy's. AND THE PRICE! so cheap and yet so good... My friend's dad used to tell us about how he would stand in line for hours at a time lined up across the free bridge to a dog from Jimmy's on the Delaware. It was worth it then, and it still is now.
