This is an up an coming place. They have a broad array of soups., which is their mainstay. This a accompanied by a bread bar with three tyoes of fresh bread. If you want more than soup, the apps and the entrees are very good. My wife often gets the coconut shrimp app as an entree. The burgers are good as are the more formal fish centric entrees. The restaurant is in a mini-mall arrangement. There is a nearby wine bar and other local establishments. A good choice for dinner.

Because this place serves my two favorite types of food, we went here for a late lunch on Saturday. First off, I love the location, it's in the little marketplace on Main Street, with a couple other little shops. The service was great, and almost all of the employees at some point or another made sure you were doing okay, but it wasn't in the annoying hanging around way some places have. Now for the food.....AMAZING. I ordered the blackened salmon BLT (with no T) and a cup of Creamy Crab soup. It was perfect. the salmon was perfectly cooked, loads of bacon, and a yummy chipotle ranch sauce. The bread was soft and thick and delish. The soup was exactly what I was looking for, basically a crab chowder, but not overly filling. My bf got the oven roasted turkey club with a cup of Jambalaya. The sandwich was bursting with turkey, and looked really good (he wouldn't let me have a bite). The jambalaya was great, thick and well seasoned, spicy but not overpowering. Both plates came with what I am pretty sure are home made old bay chips....so good, I need the recipe. They have breads sitting out for you to help yourself, pepperoni and corn bread as well as other kinds. The prices were great for Doylestown, I was expecting much more then what I paid. When we are about to leave, they were writing the dinner specials, one was Lobster Tail, Crab Imperial, Risotto and Grilled Vegetables for $24.99....I will definitely be back to this place ASAP.

Usually don't write reviews but thought this was too good not to share. Had the best burger at an unexpected place. Crab burger is a must try. Prices are fair

Friday evening, place was full. Liked the atmosphere with the wine and oil/balsamic store sharing the space. Had the crabcake dinner, she had the scallops. Apps (soup/mussels) came out quick, then a big lag to our meals, which were warm and not hot..... like they sat at the window for a while before getting run out. Thats the gripe that knocks the rating down as the food was very good. Will eat there again.

If you are a fan of buffalo chicken wraps, their "hot and crispy" is the BEST I've ever had.

been wanting to come here for a while and they have odd hours so it didnt work out left me with an uninviting feeling but we tried anyway since we love seafood we came for dinner on a tuesday: they were serving off the lunch menu. we said we wanted dinner and not sandwiches and the like. they gave us a dinner menu and rattled off a few things that were unavailable. we ordered: creamy crab soup - indistinguishable crab and potato puree (i'm telling you it was not lumpy, it was blended) and salty salmon was good shrimp was good risotto was indistinguishable in taste...couldve been alfredo or crab or pickle flavored - never could tell our meals came with salads that were never delivered. server said it was because it was tuesday. she evenutally brought us salad to take home...really? one server: she either had add or was on amphetamines...completely run ragged. i kinda felt bad for her... one other thing: there was another couple there seated near us. they loved the place and had been there as regulars. they traveled over an hour to get there. they were so disappointed in their meal that they asked to be let out of their check and went home (they were given complementary gift certificates or some food or something). it just kinda represented the whole 'disappointed in doylestown' evening

I've had mixed experiences here, one was worthy of 4 stars, while the other worthy of 2 stars (hence this 3 star review). The first time we came to the Pennsylvania Soup and Seafood House we ordered just soups. All of them (we tried 3) were delicious and even filling enough to not need a dinner entree. The second time we visited was with my family - this time we decided to go beyond the soups and try a Kobe burger. I was sorely disappointed as it was dry and tasteless. Definitely not what I expected for the price and typically quality of Kobe beef. The rest of our party was also not very thrilled with their choice of food. We might give this place one more try sometime but haven't for over 2 years because there are so many other great places to go to right downtown.

Great for lunch! Went here with some colleagues for lunch. The service was very attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. The prices are fairly modest considering the area and the quality of the food. I had the Lobster Bisque and the Chicken Sandwich with Chipotle Mayo. Both were excellent. I would recommend both. Parking was easy in the paid lot behind the building. Overall, a great choice for lunch.

I really like this place. The food is great, but on the pricey side. The location in doylestown is wonderful. However, I really wish it wasn't BYOB. I like to have a drink with my dinner and don't always remember to bring something with me. There is a wine shop next door, so if you are really desperate to have a glass of vino with your crab cakes, all is not lost. I am not crazy about the hallway feel of the restaurant, so most of the time we get our food to go. Service is generally good

Cute location. Service was meh. Only one waitress for all tables. Ordered the crab soup, the Pan Seared Scallops, and Clams over linguine. Crab soup was salty and barely had any crab; Scallops were perfectly cooked, veggies were good, but the the "risotto" was a joke. It was cooked white rice with cream. Literally. It was tasteless too. You could just add sugar and cinnamon, and you got a rice pudding. I know that risotto is a pain to make. But if you're not willing to do it right, don't offer it. The Clams over linguine (I chose red sauce) was good. Nothing to rave about. The house salad was OK. Nothing above the quality of a diner. The bread, they tried to get creative with them, and were fine, but again, nothing to rave about. I give it 2.5 stars. Not sure what all the raving is about. I would come back? Maybe to grab a bite during lunch, but not as a destination, dinner.

This restaurant was quaint, clean and welcoming. I had delicious crab bisque with salmon... it came with a HUGE salad and it was so amazingly delicious that I've been dreaming about it since. You can see them making the food before your eyes. Our waiter was so nice and friendly and helped us order by reccommending his favorite dishes. We just happened upon this place because we were in Doylestown at a record store and were starvvvving. I can't wait to return to try more yummy seafood dishes.

We just had lunch here and it was great. We were immediately greeted and seated. The waitress was friendly. They have lots of soups to choose from and their lunch menu is simple but with enough of a variety to please anyone. I ordered the veggie burger and my hubby ordered the chili and a crispy spicy chicken wrap. We were both very happy with our food. We can't wait to go back for dinner.

Ate here for Lunch recently for the first time. I live in Doylestown and have been to almost every restaurant and I have to say this place was one of the better lunch places in town. Had the crab soup and 1/2 of a turkey sandwich and both were very good. The menu was decent and the prices were average for Doylestown. Will definitely go back.

Every time I'm actually around on the weekend I have to eat here. It's my goal to try every single soup! They're all so good and the (free!) bread is always fresh and delicious. Also, if you're there for lunch get the RANCH FRIES. They are literally one of the tastiest things I ever had in my life.

The lobster bisque is phenomenal, and their sandwiches are very good. Nice atmosphere, a great addition to the Doylestown area!

I work in Doylestown, so I pop in at the Pennsylvania Soup & Seafood House about once a week or every two weeks. It's one of my favorite places in town to grab lunch. The staff is great and the food is delicious. And it's cheaper than a lot of the other places in town. One of my co-workers calls it "The Naughty Soup Place" because, she says, the creamy crab soup is so delicious it's naughty. (I've never had the creamy crab soup because I don't like crab.) The Husband loves their vegetarian chili, and he always gets it. My "regular" is a cup of chicken vegetable with rice and a side Caesar (no red pepper). I love the soup and salad so much that I occasionally find myself day-dreaming about it and wondering how I can make Caesar dressing that tastes as good as the soup place's. Another favorite is the fried calamari, which is perfectly fried - the batter isn't so thick that it overwhelms the squid, but it isn't so light that it falls apart when you dip it in the marinara sauce. The sauce is a little chunky and really flavorful. I've also tried - and LOVED - the mussels, the hamburgers, the fried shrimp basket, and the fish and chips. For a while, the restaurant had a duck salad that was simply amazing - spring mix, carrots, cucumbers and grilled duck with a raspberry-Chambord dressing. Mmmmm.... I'm not a big fan of the pizzas (the sauce is very sweet, but the crust, cheese and toppings are perfect) or the crab cake (I don't like crab).

This is a really nice place. Good food, well-planned menu, good ambiance, excellent service. Our meals were quite good and the place lent itself to lingering a while after the meal just to talk. We'll be back.

Enjoyed the vegetarian chili. For an extra dollar topped with cheese. Delish!

Oh so good! Went there for the first time today and the atmosphere is the first thing that grabbed me. There were both regular tables (with beautiful fresh flowers on each table) and also high-top tables. The folks that worked there were warm and friendly and readily available. The tables were spaced apart nicely so you could not overhear other's conversations and you were able to push your chair out without bumping into the person behind you. The free bread was scrumptious, especially the pepperoni bread. It was very fresh and soft. I had the burger with the crab on it. This was one of the best burgers that I've ever had in my life. Very generous amounts of crab and then topped with cheese. The burger came with a "side" salad which was in my opinion, full size. Salad was fresh greens (NOT iceberg!) with a plethora of carrots, cucumbers and other delicious veggies. I would highly, highly recommend.

Great spot for lunch!! Haven't tried dinner yet, but if it is as good as the lunch, I'm there! Soups are fantastic!! An assortment of grilled seafood, burgers (the crab burger or horseradish cheddar are superb), great salads, and excellent sandwiches. Service is also very good--very attentive, friendly and efficient. If you're looking for a good spot for lunch while in Doylestown, I would rate this as one of the best.

Just right for a simple, fuss-free and fairly priced meal. And who can pass up soup (about a dozen choices) on a cold night? We ate here after many extravagant and/or expensive holiday dinners. We wanted good food without all the glitter or the expense that has been part of dining for the past few days. This suited the bill just fine. For coffee, I would visit one of the coffee shops in town, but everything leading up to that point was very good.
