Oh, the NBI - for me 3 stars is being very generous. Mostly because my high school best friends younger sister used to LOVE this place. We never did. Standard pub grub and beer after beer. OK When you're a teenager (Oh wait, they can't serve underagers any more - my bad!) but I've outgrown this place. Its a basic bar.

18 beers on tap, two pool tables, a fun staff and some of the best burgers and Crabs in Bucks County. But dont expect anything too fancy. The staff is really friendly to you if you're not a douchebag, and it's a fun place to spend your evening. Try the black & blue burger or the Jesse burger. And their jalapeño poppers are a must, i've tried them almost everywhere I've seen them on a menu and the NBI has the best.

Monday night is all you can eat crabs. Great deal $25.99 The rear deck is great. Can't wait

Well, I've been here several more times over the past two years and I've had a good experience each time. We've sat out back on the deck, at a high top table, in a booth and at the bar. We've thoroughly enjoyed their great wings, nachos, sandwiches, cheesesteaks and good selection of beers and wine. The staff is great and the ambiance is welcoming and definitely feels like a hometown place for locals. Best wings in Chalfont!

This was the first time I was here with my mom, who has been here quite a few times before. She has always said this place had the best burgers. We were upset to find that they had changed their menu and the selections of burgers were really decreased. The food was quite salty for our taste too.

Never had a bad meal here. I love the burgers, they are reasonably priced, the wings are great too. Mine were not dry at all, I saw that some people had a bad experience. It's overall consistency that matters. In truth I have eaten here twice and had a drink here once. Nothing but good things to say about the place. It is a good, solid, local bar. When I am there the crowd seemed yougner than me. There was a lot of energy in the bartenders, the wait staff was up to par, checking on us an approbriate amount of times. We really only ever had to wait for the check, but that was due in part to a large gaggle of people strolling in as we were finishing up. I get the sense that the management is trying to transform this place into a more casual dining establishment. This is good, a solid bar with good pub fare is always a nice addition to any neighborhood.

Ah, the NBI.. They've done wonderful things with the menu recently. It's a bit of a large menu, which always scares me.. But it has some interesting options. The staff is super nice! Most of them have been there for years. There aren't many healthy options on the menu, but homey heavier foods. The wings are great! Go have a beer and order some wings. You won't be disappointed.

I can not believe what just happened! I called at 6:00pm and was informed, "we don't do take outs this late on the weekends." WHAT? Are they serious? I gave them two stars because I have always liked the food, but I won't be back! Ridiculous practice, bring in another cook if need be, don't turn away business.

I first went to NBI for my 21st birthday last year; the bartender Don made it a really fun experience. I decided to go back a few more times and although it's the local watering hole, it's always a good time. Cheap alcohol, friendly bartenders, an overall fun crowd. It's good for a late-night hang out place to get drinks with a few friends. Be sure to try Don's "High Quality H2O."

I REALLY want to love NBI. It's literally 1 minute down the road from me, making it my closest bar. However, in all of my experiences, the bartenders have been less than welcoming and the drinks are just way too expensive. My go to drink is a Malibu bay breeze and I can get a double at any other bar in the area for $5-$7 all hours of the day. But not at NBI. Here, they charge a whopping $10 for a double. For that price I could go drinking in the city.

Consistently great food! The New Britain Inn has a warm, comfortable, neighborhood bar feel and a staff that's very friendly and attentive. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food it's all your favorites but with flavors you'd expect at a higher priced restaurant. We went twice in the same week and tried different things each time, and everything was great.

The NBI is an old favorite of my friends and I but today we were very disappointed. While eating lunch at the bar I watched as time and time again the bartenders dug the glass pint glasses into the ice well. As a former bartender/server I cringed each time. If you don't know why it's a big deal it's because ice can chip the glass... Leaving glass chips in the ice. I have also seen glasses brake completely and a former coworker had to have a finger sewn back on. I finally decided to say something, I tried to be tactful but she exploded on me. She said I was being annoying and told me to leave. Ultimately it's not my job or my bar. So if they get sued for cutting someone's mouth/throat up that's on them but I didn't expect to be exploded on. I'll never go back to such a disrespectful place. She was disgustingly rude to me and my friend. I wish I had her name but she was blond and there mid day today. Oh and stay away from the ice...

A coworker and I were in the doylestown area for an event on a saturday. We googled some nearby places for lunch and a drink and NBI popped up. Since they had fried pickles on the menu, which are one of my faves, we decided to try it out. As soon as we pulled up we had a "mehhhhhh" moment, from the outside it just looks a little seedy. When we walked in, it was cute inside, not as scary as i had expected. SO anyway, we ended up only staying for one drink and didn't even try the food ONLY because, the vibe and attitude of the bartender was such a turn off. Being a former bartender, it reaaallllllyyyy irks me when someone has that type of job but has ZERO people skills and is just miserable. From the second we sat at the bar, he just seemed like he wanted nothing to do with us and that we were a bother. There was a group in the bar that he catered mostly to, who seemed like locals. From what it seems this is a big local spot. He took forever to take our food order, to the point where a waitress came up and was finally like "i'll just take your order guys" (she was actually really sweet so i can't base the WHOLE waitstaff off of this guy.) but at that point we were just kind of over it and politely asked for the check and dipped out. I don't know, to me the biggest experience of dining out anywhere- whether it's a dive bar or a 5 star restaurant is how the staff makes your experience, and if they treat you like crap it's just a giant turn off. We headed over to Penn Taproom which is about 4 miles away from here- MUCH better experience!

Classic bar atmosphere, not very quiet. The food was decent. The fish tacos were ok, french onion soup was on the peppery side, and the flatbread was pretty dry and not even very flat! The stars of the night were the Philly cheesesteak and the chicken pot pie! Overall we left full and satisfied.

I'll be generous, because I am a nice guy (ask any of my ex-g-friends they will tell you I am the nicest guy they ever broke up with) and rate this place with 3 stars. In general, yes, bar food, I certainly would never call this a gastro-pub, with a nice draft beer selection, below average to average at best salads, and above average burgers. Somebody wrote that this place is "not clean", well being an older bar, with tasteless Formica tables, plastic booth chairs and wood paneled walls, I can see what they mean, but I would just call it an "old school" bar and leave it at that. The service at the bar and at the tables is friendly, attentive and very good, even though the two servers today were working their young butts off. It's always good to see a work ethic in that younger generation zzzzzzzzz. A good place to hang, meet a friend, or get away from the trendy population and toss a few back with a good working class crowd.

"Meh" pretty much sums it up... it's exactly what it looks like, a local dive with bar food and an unimaginative draught selection. The service was friendly enough, the wings looked to be about the best part of the meal which my daughter ordered with mild sauce on the side. The sauce turned out to be a large cup of bottled ketchup laced with Sriracha which I'm guessing is their "house made spicy ketchup". If it was especially inexpensive that might add to it's allure, but this is definitely not some undiscovered dive serving great food. It's just a regular local dive bar and grill. Nothing wrong with that if it's what you're looking for.

I work in the Chalfont area and my co-workers go there occasionally for lunch. It is a hit or miss place. From the food to the service. However, last week we ordered take out. This was a bad experience. I am usually a 15-20% tipper even on carry out. But when I looked and saw that there was a .50 cent charge FOR EACH ORDER (and we had 6 orders) ..... well I paid the bill and put the tip money back in my pocket.

I visited here one night with my boyfriend because he was craving wings and said that this place was his fixx. It happened to be the debut night for the new menu, he ordered wings and i ordered the pear and walnut salad. Wait time was fine and waitress was friendly but that doesn't overshadow that my food was bad. This wasnt a salad at all (as you can see from the pics) it was a meat salad, pretty much no spring mix, too much goat cheese and too many walnuts and giant chunks of pear. Could not taste anything beyond the grease from the chicken soaking on to the scarce amount of spring mix i had. The wings were average, sauce was good and cooked crispy. Was a nice place to hang out, im willing to give another try but definitely wont be having the salad again.

I really enjoy this place, most of the time. The staff is cool and makes you feel welcome. It's a great place to meet up with friends, grab a few drinks, and just hang out. NBI really has everything you could possibly want: the restaurant, the bar, the standing room near the 2 pool tables, and the outside deck with another bar. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because sometimes the food is outstanding and other times it's not so good. Overall, I love this place and will continue to come here every time my friends from out-of-town come to visit (they love this place!)

After reading the reviews and several people mentioning how good the wings are, we decided to try them out. They are NOT good! They were hard and dry as if they were sitting in the deep fryer for 10 hours. In other news, the whole place is greasy and dirty and there is no hostess, so if it's your first time there you'll stand in the doorway for several minutes while everyone stares at you like you're an idiot until the bartender shouts at you to pick your own seat.

Never had a bad meal here. This is not a fancy place. We've eaten here many times. Great scallops, chicken cheese steak sandwiches, cheese steaks and burgers. The waiters really hustle here and if you come enough they remember what you drink. Nice old time tavern. Love the summers here eating out on the covered deck. Only negative thing is the kitchen is kind of slow. 7/23/13 -Noted that the kitchen is moving faster and we will be back more often and they don't offer the scallops anymore but the salmon is great. They have newly remodeled this place and it looks great.

We live only a couple of miles from the NBI so it's very convenient for us when we are in the mood for some local "pub grub".. It's been a couple of years since we sat at a table inside where you'll find a pool table or two, a large circular bar and an eating area of about a half dozen booths and a couple of tables. Over the last couple of years we have especially liked the outside deck. It's fully covered so rain is not a factor but it can get very warm during a summer afternoon.. There is an outside bar that seats approx 10 people.. The deck service waite staff is excellent. The deck is at the back of the building so there is no traffic noise. (A plus for sure) We were there just last w/e for a late dinner. It's the first time I can report we were disapointed with our food.. My order of wings were 'hot' ( I ordered mild ), the chicken cheese steak hoagie was overcooked and as a result, dry.. We'll go back sometime soon I'm sure... Hopefully the food quality will be back to the way we remembered and I can bump the rating up to 4 stars again.

during the school year, i've seen this place flooded with del val students. it's packed during sporting events. the beers are pretty cheap and the food is better than expected. check out jesse's chicken cheese steak - it's got a horseradish, tomato, and bacon sauce that's great. (but it's a secret and not on the menu!) i also love the rachel, which is an open-faced corned beef sandwich grilled with swiss. yum. all in all it's a great place for a low-key dinner and a couple beers before heading out to wherever. not a place i'd like to be a regular at though. the crowd can be a little rough around the edges. (read: saw a pregnant woman sitting at the bar a few years ago smoking a cigarette. yikes.)

A few good things on the menu; cheesesteaks, druken clams, all-you-can-eat crab and hand cut fries are best things I've tried here (and I've tried many others). Decent wings too. Everything else, Meh. It's a standard bar. If you don't live within a mile or two, I see no reason to make the trip; I bet you've got something just like it nearby.

The New Britain Inn is a great place to go for food and drinks. I have never had a bad food item from here. The chili is GREAT and I love to go here for unlimited wing night (I believe it's every tues and thurs night, they have all you can eat wings for like 7.99, and they have AWESOME wing flavors). The wait staff are very friendly and nice and will joke with you if you allow. You do have to watch out for the one bartender though, and it really is enough to knock off one star...he seems like he takes too many steroids and isn't that friendly. And I SWEAR that every time I go there and he bartends, he adds drinks to my tab and when I confront him about it he intimidates me so I just end up paying it and walking out upset. Other then that I love to come here because they have a pool table, darts, and poker on Thursday nights. I enjoy this place greatly and wish I could come here more often, but that one bartender is enough to make me avoid it sometimes and not make an extra effort to go there. It still gets four stars for the other staff and the food though.

Why on earth would a place serve anything using paper plates? (cheese steak egg rolls) Ordered Fish & Chips (no fries, that costs extra). Food wasn't very good at all. The total bill was just over $50 before tip. Fish taco's, Fish & Chips (extra $1.50 for fries), ordered cole slaw ($1.50) but didn't get it, Cheese Steak Egg rolls, vodka & tonic and Raspberry Mojito. I guess the drinks were $10 each? I didn't get an itemized bill...Sorry to say, this isn't a place to go for the food.

If you're a friendly person, the staff at NBI will treat you well. If you're swill looking to sit at the bar alone drinking your shot and beer, you might not take away as much of the experience. Go early on summer evenings to relax on the back deck (opens at 5:00 p.m. after Memorial Day). Burgers are affordable and delicious, and the wings are some of the best in the area.
