3.5 stars, really, but I feel generous and we had fun last night so I am giving the Limelight in Doylestown 4 stars. The four of us stopped into the limelight - which is basically a piano bar & restaurant. The food is Italian influenced American and all of us had veal dishes. The iceberg lettuce salads were blah and overly dressed in a vinegary-balsamic vinaigrette. This was made up for by the delicious Veal (or chicken) Irene - with crabmeat and pencil-thin asparagus. My mom had a veal picatta which she enjoyed. DH had veal parm whic he said tasted freezer burnt. We intend to return again to give them another shot (service was good, by the way - friendly and attentive without being pushy) but if things don't go well that'll be it. Seems like it'd be a fun bar to go hang out in, though. Happy Hour (4-6 PM Mon - Thurs) offers $2 beers and $5 house wine.

Honestly this is less of a review and more of a warning as there isn't much to review about this disgusting place. My boyfriend and I went in for lunch today and had an awful experience from the moment we walked in. First off, we walked in and the lights were off (this was at 12:00...lunch time) and we heard a quiet voice in the dark greet us. We were taken to a dirty table in an empty dining room. I ordered a hot tea, only to find that the sugar caddy was empty. We ordered soups and apps. My boyfriend got the mushroom barley soup... He described it as "canned soup with chopped mushrooms heated in the microwave". I got the French Onion soups which was edible if you had a knife to cut the ridiculous about of cheese in the center. Next up was the appetizers... The hummus and pita was store bought pitas and mushed chickpeas covered in oil, no seasoning or tahini. And last was the most awful thing I've ever eaten- the mozzarella sticks tasted old, stale, and like the fryer had never been cleaned. Honestly, if you can't batter and fry cheese why do you own a restaurant. All of this food sat half eaten on our table as the owner (I assume) said nothing and had to be waived down so we could pay and get the hell out. We drove over after and got fast food which was a definite upgrade. Stay away.

The food was absolutely TERRIBLE!!! The service was also not top notched. But what I was more concerned about was the food! It was a new restaurant and we had high hopes. We ordered a couple of appetizers and they were terrible. Not only that, but it took an hour just to get our food. Also, it took a while to get our seats. All of the other foods were terrible as well. DO NOT GO TO LIMELIGHT IN DOYLESTOWN!!!

I love these guys. The owner is all in 7 days a week looking to best serve his customers. The food is good, but too much choice! I like the sausage and pepper sandwich, the chicken and asparagus and the sea bass. The place is simple with great service, good people and all you need for a good night. My wife and I go there, have dinner and bring home dinner for the critters. A little piano, and just a good time with food and folks. Not so easy these days. Enjoy

The Lime Light is what I like in a local restaurant. Good consistent food, not over priced, with comfortable service. This is the place where I like to go for a glass of wine and a plate of pasta, usually linguini with clam sauce, and a salad. You can sit at the bar and veg, or watch tv, or be entertained by their music which range from piano, singer with covers and karaoke on Wednesday. The selection of alcohol at the bar is above average, with the notable inclusion of Hendrick's Gin and a nice range of Vodka's. I always come out of the Lime Light feeling I have relaxed, and had a good meal.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
