What a great bakery we have in our area! So many treats.

Living out in the middle of the boonies, far from civilization -- the nearest shop makes and sells glass eyeballs to taxidermists -- my parents have developed large stores of foodstuffs to last us through a blizzard, a nuclear holocaust, or a seasonal depression-induced bought of laziness. Past the dank, creepy closets misnomered as pantries, down into the deepest freezer-burnt recesses of our giant freezer, we keep a stockpile of MAGIC... bags and bags of olive rolls from Crossroads. These ciabatta-style rolls are packed with kalamata olives, and their crusts crackle when torn, while the inside is soft and chewy. Backwoods Martha Stewart Secret: These rolls freeze perfectly, and after thirty seconds in the microwave, they are like a post-cryogenic, Walt Disney dream! Add a pat of butter and it is the perfect winter breakfast toast! These rolls warrant a trip up from Philly!

Hands down the best coffee and bakery in all of Doylestown. Run by an extremely competent and personable staff, all of which have adorable, quirky, and unique personalities. I'm ruined for getting coffee anywhere else now. Wait till you try theirs, it'll do the same to you. Treat yourself by starting off with a cup of Grumpy Monkey Blend, you'll be hooked too. Personally, I'm not a big baked goods type. But the smell of this shop is enticing, alluring, hypnotizing. Their breads, cakes, and pastries all look incredible. I've had their country bread loaf many times at family meals---excellent.

This place smells amazing! All of their bread is baked right in the back and is delicious; their chocolate croissants are my favorite. Whenever I'm visiting my parents, my Dad and I like to make a morning coffee/tea run and grab goodies for the rest of the household. We always make sure to grab some danishes, sticky breads, and other treats. They also have tons of tea options if, like me, you love tea! The people that work there are really nice and helpful too; all in all, one of the best in the area.

Don't expect the ordinary at Crossroads. Their bread is the best outside of NYC. They make different breads daily so go often to try them all. Bagettes are crisp and wonderful. Their whole grain breads are the best. Their butter cookies are for real not the usual, with special flavors like the orange short bread and lavendar tea cookies. Pies are very good I love the almond crust cherry and the pecan. Morning pasteries are special, I love the almond or chocolate croissants. Fruit tarts are also really good. The staff are freindly and helpful. They also have a limited number of items at the Stockton, NJ Farm Market on weekends if you can't get to Doylestown.

Best Bakery! Love everything in it. Cakes are delicious, Croissants perfectly made and pies outstanding. If I wasn't worry about gaining weight, I'd visit it everday!

Wow, where to begin? The selection is amazing, everything from grandma's favorites to treats from different cultures and everything in between, all fresh, delicious, and beautiful. Add to that fresh organic coffee and you start to think you've died and gone to heaven!

This is the best bakery I gave been to, outside of Europe. Last year I gave it a mixed review because the employees were abrupt and rude but that has changed. Whether or not someone read my review and the owner turned their attitudes around , I don't know, but I am just glad that it's a pleasure to shop there, and it really is an outstanding bakery.I have ordered cakes and pies for parties, cookie trays for celebrations and gone many times for pastry and coffee for breakfast. Well done!!

Definitely deserves another half star. Very quaint little shop in Dtown strip mall. Nice personnel and supposedly a good selection but the two times I have been in there has been slim pickings by lunch time. Had a wonderful chocolate cake that was reasonably priced but reco ordering if you want something specific.

I've been to this cash only bakery (there's a mac if you need one) many times and I always enjoy whatever I get. The breads are always fresh and there is normally a nice assortment of sweet baked goods (lavender cookies, blueberry bran muffins, and small vanilla cupcakes with real butter not that shortening stuff). The good stuff goes early so plan accordingly if you want something in particular. O! I almost forgot. . . they have pizza (different, bakery style, not pizza shop) sometimes around lunch. Sooo tasty if you can get your hands on one.

Their bread is incredible! French baguettes, cranberry walnut, olive(black or spicy green) is some of the best bread I've had.Nice tasty choices of foccacias, slices and individual pizzas. They have some gluten-free & organic choices as well. Great red velvet cupcakes and choc chip cookies(the small ones by the pound were much better than the large individual). Excellent morning glory muffins & croissants. This place also turned me on to Rishi brand tea; which is now my favorite. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is there a strong odor reminiscent of potpourri (like almond or cherry) that you smell upon entering. It's not bad, but I noticed that it actually permeates and has flavored the bread adversely on occasion. Not a good thing! Prices are a bit steep on many items. They run out of bread early on weekends; but will hold some for you if you call.

wonderful products...too bad they are frequently out of their baked goods on saturday afternoon and sunday mornings. I love the fruit scones, but have stopped going there as there is a fixation on baking only raisin scones. They would be better off over baking and donating the excess than not having enough for their customers. Their products, when available , are excellent.

In the age of hypermarket and walmartization of the US, it is a breath of fresh air to find a small shop dedicated to making quality product for a local area. Crossroads Bakeshop is my morning stop for a cup of fair trade coffee, a freshly baked croissant or olive roll. They also have great holiday breads like stollen, and italian panatone. Fridays you may also find buttery treats like brioche which will melt in your mouth. My motto is eat local .. and Crossroads is a reason to live up to that motto.

What a beautiful bakery. Just beautiful. Coffee's, tea's, homemade jams, artisan breads galore, small cakes, biscotti, cookies, croissants, cuts of pizza bread, morning rolls, and more. We got the pizza bread and it was fabulous. Their coffee was also really good.

The best bakery in Bucks! The breads are in our home every week, fresh and healthy. Coffee on site is awesome. The staff and bakers are on their game and pleasant. Stop in and they will Win you over.

i really need to kick the coconut obsession one of these days because everyone else in my family seems to hate it, which leaves me unable to bake my own coconut desserts. And that is when I head here to grab a box of the coconut cupcakes. There is actual shredded coconut baked into the rich cake and then more coconut on top. The icing is creamy and sweet but not overly so. It is usually extremely crowded on weekends, though. I would get here early (11 am on Sundays seems to be the prime hour) before they run out of the more popular items, namely the mini cupcakes and croissants (although these aren't as good as the Little Chef's in Princeton).

The croissants are ridiculously good! I ordered a bday cake here once that was just ok. They only accept cash which I find sooooooooooo annoying!

I first tasted breads from this bakery at the Stockton Farmers' Market where Crossroads has a stand. I became hooked and made the trip to their store in Doylestown. It is located in a small strip mall so it was surprising to walk in and get a European country bakery feel. There's an open doorway which displays the bakers making all kinds of goodies. The place smells like a bakery should, delicious! Their forte is making breads and breakfast pastries. Every type of bread and roll I've had here is amazing, perfect crust and taste. The croissants and danishes are great, with my favorite being the almond croissant. I can honestly say it is one of the best things I eaten, the outside has caramelized sugar and the inside contains a flaky dough stuffed with a fabulous almond and sugar paste. I've gifted these and received reactions of amazement and gratitude. On Saturday mornings they make these buttery golden brioches which rival ones I've had in France. Their coffee bar is very good too, strong coffee with good body. They also sell organic teas, oatmeal, Greek yogurt, and gift packs of local goodies (Solebury Farm products among other things). I agree with other reviewers that their cakes and chocolate concoctions are not as good as the breads but still superior to your run of the mill bakeries.

The bakeries in Bucks County have not been that great, but Crossroads is surprisingly good - anbd busy as a beehive on Saturday mornings. My daughter's itty-bitty (.95 cents) chocolate cupcake was the perfect size of deliciousness and I enjoyed a flaky buttery croissant. I was very impressed with what we tried and would definitely come back again.

I'm guessing the success of this bakery has gone to their head...so to speak. My wife and I just moved to the area and had heard great things about this place. The service and attitude of the bakery is one of disdain and arrogance. I was shocked at how poorly I was treated by two young ladies. The cake I purchased was average...nothing special. I would not recommend going here based on the service alone. Also, it's cash only...which says a lot about what they really think about customers. I'm guessing they don't pay their employees in cash...why make it so difficult for customers???

What to buy here: Fresh eggs Baguettes Challah espresso drinks, coffee and tea (loose, beans) plain croissants (almond, chocolate are good too) local honey special loafs This is my go to place for loafs and baguettes or other baked goods. They sell pizza dough too although it's not the best, it's not that bad. Their barista drinks are always amazing though---YUM.

Good bread and average pastry we have been going here for 15 years. However the staff and customer service is horrible!! Two different people on two different days leading up to Thanksgiving waited on us. Not one person said thank you for our order or happy Thanksgiving. Throughout the regular season we have noticed that the staff is rude and abrupt at times. We will get our pastries at Altomontes and our breads at Panera from now on. It is not worth supporting this local business any more as we have tried over and over but the the staffing from the front desk up to the managers is lousy.Never again!!!

My second interaction with Crossroads was very good indeed! We were having soup for dinner and I decided to give their famed bread a try. Nothing better than hearty soup and a crusty loaf of bread on a cold night! I walked in at 5:45pm (right before closing) and purchased a baguette, an Italian loaf and an old world loaf. We ate of the 3 loaves and enjoyed them very much! The baguette was nearly perfect as far as I was concerned, crisp crust and light interior. I also really enjoyed the old world loaf, which was my daughter's favorite. Due to their great reputation and excellent customer service I decided to give them another try. Their breads were wonderful and very reasonably priced. Forget grocery store bread, we will certainly return to Crossroads for our breads!

Amazing coffee, teas, and pastries. A great place to go on the weekends for a light breakfast. They also do custom cakes and you can take everything to go or enjoy your a few moments along the edge of the store at one of about a dozen bar stools.

Great coffee, pastries, and also a great collection felted wool bags made by someone affiliated with the shop. They're beautfiul and hold up really well!

They have excellent breads and savory pastries. Its worth the drive for croissants and bread loafs or rolls. If you want something sweet, get a lemon bar. Their coffee is good. Bummer that you can't use debit or credit.

wonderful bread, wonderful atmosphere, I love crossroads bakeshop, for the bread, pastries as well as the coffee.

3.5 stars. They have great coffee and the staff is super nice, the olive rolls are indeed very good, as are all the other breads. But, their other goods -tarts, cakes, etc...are not as striking as the breads. Still good, but just not terribly special. They're the only game for miles around and their pricing reflects that- higher than similar quality goods a drive away in Philadelphia, sometimes shockingly high. A good choice if you're in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip.

Out of the way but worth the trouble! Every baked good you could imagine, plus an espresso bar. Fresh crusty loaves, harder and harder to come by these days but at Crossroads it's a guarantee.

I just wanted to add to the list of positive reviews, I can't add anything more, I agree with all of the 5 star reviews here. The Olive rolls are a must...mmm. Wishing I had some now.

It's like being in Paris! The best baguettes, pain au chocolate, quiche - I am grateful every day that a town this size has a place you can meet your friends and neighbors to enjoy coffee and baked goods that are as good as can be found anywhere in the world. I lived in Paris for almost three years and never dreamed I could get anything close to a genuine baguette, anywhere in the U.S., much less Pennsylvania. Crossroads is not to be missed!

To call this place a "Bake Shop" is not doing it justice! This is the ultimate place where those of us who are Carb Junkies can indulge the senses and tastebuds in the best breads, cakes, cookies and other delights you can imagine. I make a special trip to Crossroads every couple of weeks for the scones and the terrific Italian jam-filled thumb cookies. I have also had their fruit pies (to die for!) and several of their cakes - you just can't go wrong! I love their breads and rolls as well, and just tried their homemade pizza this weekend. Took home a few slices for lunch, heated it up and thoroughly enjoyed every lip-smacking bit. Just the right amount of sauce, cheeses and seasoning on a thin crust, cut into a square. I will definitely try this again. Their quiches also looked wonderful and they are on my "must try" list. If you are in the Doylestown area, you absolutely must try Crossroads!

This place is a gem. It is truly quintessential of small town living. They offer an assortment of pastries, breads and various other baked goods. I could live off of their olive loafs. They are baked to perfection, crusty on the outside, chewy and flavorful on the inside, a perfect compliment to a plate of hummus. The rosemary foccia is also excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

Fortunate enough to stop in here after going to the Ford Dealershipo, I got an amazing small choc/espresso torte and when I ate it at home it was to die for! We got there late afternoon, and by then they were out of a lot of yummy sounding things! Also got a brownie that was good, but the peanut butter choc chip cookie my dad got lacked peanut butter flavor. The staff was patient and accommodating. Also got some of their jellies that I have yet to try. I'd go back, if it were closer!

It's rare to find a decent bakery in the suburbs. It's rare to find a bakery anywhere in the United States that can produce a decent loaf of bread. Somehow Crossroads has thrived and even expanded its operations in a less than attractive strip mall that's surrounded by car dealerships and gas stations. Why? Simple. They run a great bakery with consistently good quality baked goods that rival what you can find in some of the better bakeries in major cities throughout this country. Is everything as good as what you would find in the best patisserie in Paris? No. Do their baguettes demonstrate a clear understanding of the fine balance of science and art that produce a quality artisanal bread? Yes. With rare exception everything I've purchased from Crossroads has been good or excellent. If you're driving through Doylestown make the effort to find this place.

I am doing an update. Crossroads' service has slipped - dramatically. My wife went to buy a birthday cake for an 80 year-old friend of ours and asked that they write, "Happy Birthday John" on the cake. They refused. They said they could give my wife a paper sticker that says that, but they wouldn't provide a service that ANYONE else will provide. A cake of the size we wanted is over $20, not exactly giving it away. At this price, they should clearly be doing more to earn your trust. This laziness is so typical, and that is why where ever you go anymore, service stinks. The attitudes of some of people who work there leave alot to be desired, too. Their food is good, no denying that. But how many times have you seen a new place open, do really well FOR A WHILE, and then start cutting corners? That's Crossroads. My suggestion to you if you want a cake done the right way go to Weinrich's Bakery in Willow Grove. Great pastries of all sorts, and no hassles about getting the cake the way YOU want it, not the way THEY want it. The address and phone number for Weinrich's Bakery 55 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA..(215) 659-7062.

It upsets me to read reviews bashing this amazing Bake Shop. In todays world you get what you pay for. So if you want a cheap treat or bread go to the grocery store and you can have you less expensive processed crap and they will write your HAPPY BIRTHDAY, if that is really want is important to you. Stop comparing apples and oranges. To all of you that have not been, which I am surprised you have not discovered them yet, go and try anything. Everything is delicious. Great coffee too. I don't go on vacation without buying bread and bring it along. The staff is always helpful, maybe that guy was on his phone talking as he was ordering....maybe he was the rude one! Addicted to the morning rolls right now and for everyone who loves chocolate go for the chocolate espresso torte. That is my kind of "birthday cake". I could go on BUT JUST GO VISIT YOURSELF.......BEST PLACE EVER

High prices on fairly average tasting stuff. A very small cake made with buttercream frosting was priced at something like 16 dollars. The cake was good, but really not all that good for the price. Ditto for anything else I have tried in there. Another cake (chocolate) was $24.99 ? for a 7 inch cake. I just am not impressed with the quality. I have had better. Another example is the cheesecake. It was priced something like $12.99 for a small, thin cheesecake, and I do mean thin. It didn't look at all appetizing. The baguette I had was fresh and tasty, but airy and very similiar to the Italian and French breads I have had elsewhere in the area. The baguette is more like a ciabatta than a baguette. Croissants were buttery, but not as flaky as I like. Scones had a raw, doughy taste to them. I have had better, but I also have had worse. Quality of the biscotti varied. One time they were very good. Another time, just, well, terrible, with an old taste and quality. In my lifetime, I've eaten more biscotti than I care to consider. The biscotti could have been better, or at least more consistent in quality. There are a few seats, but it isn't the type of place you could really hang out in as in a coffee shop. There are little signs that say to refrain from cell phone use, which I find very annoying. The restroom is one on the other side of the strip shopping mall. Not convenient. The coffee I had there was good, but the place is not conducive for sitting a spell. What seats are available are close to the display case. The place is very clean. I believe they only take checks and cash, but I am not 100% sure of this. Maybe the fare offered is better than what is available in a supermarket, but I sure wouldn't make a long distance trip to this place. It isn't that good. And even this being better than a supermarket is open to debate. The local supermarkets have started offering some very nice, authentic, crusty loaves of Italian breads as of late. This venue used to be the best game in town, but the area now has better offerings.
