Georgios is one of downingtowns best kept secrets!!! I went there on a date a few weeks ago and have been back several times since. I know the decor is a little dated but once you get past the fo leather benches and get into the menu it all gets better, I can vouch for the burgers gyros and apps, all decently priced and extremely tasty. They have reasonable prices for beers on tap and have allot of domestics! (the bars around here have been over run with micro brews!) I went back again recently and we ordered the bannanas foster, george him self came out to make it right there in front of us. it was the BEST i had ever had! Highly recommend giving this family owned gem a try!

Went here around 5pm on a Saturday and the place we dead. Like literally it was just my wife and I. There was a strange odor and the atmosphere was creepy so we left. I gave two stars because we didn't try the food so I can't tell if it was any good or not but my guess would be probably not.

Food sucks!!! Drinks are ok but not great. I had one bartender, a guy, that made an awesome martini. Don't know his name and never saw him again. If you are going for a beer and a chat with a friend or just want a very non-congested bar this is your place. Maybe they get sports fans that come and watch the game and drink a beer? They must make their money some how

A friend and I went here around 11:30 am on a Saturday, there was no one else in the place. The waitress wasn't friendly from the beginning. The waitress asked if we were in for breakfast or lunch, I said lunch. She then informed us that she wasn't sure if the kitchen was ready to serve lunch yet (so why'd she even ask us?!). She checked with the kitchen and they were not ready for lunch yet, even at 11:30 am with no one else in the restaurant. Okay no big deal, breakfast it was. The menu was pretty normal, nothing special. Normal diner type prices and selection. I ended up getting pancakes and eggs. The food didn't come out quick but it didn't take too long either. I thought the atmosphere was fine. Outdated, yes, but I liked that. All in all I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't go back. Nothing special about the place, and there are much better restaurants in the area.

I really don't understand how this place is still open. It's been open for twenty years and has maybe 10 patrons a day? It's always empty for good reason the food is mediocre at best. Everything is reheated in a microwave nothing freshly made. They are supposed to be a Greek place but most people just get pizza and steaks. The gyros are basically the same ones you buy at the grocery store in those kits. Great location a shame it's wasted on this place.

This place was terrible I cannot tell you how bad it was. We sat at bar bartender nice enough people there nice enough food horrible place not clean dirty rugs and wicker chairs. So I got the eggplant and horrible I never had tomato sauce taste bad. My friend had the chicken parm. Yuck. We both didn't eat that much as didn't want to insult so forced to eat some and get take out which was thrown out in the dumpster.

My wife and I tried Georgio's a few months ago shortly after moving to town. It is in a great location and it seemed like the kind of place we would enjoy. The decor is very dated, which I hate to hold against the place, but I did not enjoy the surroundings and that is part of the experience. It was a weekend evening but there were only a few other people there. The server was very friendly, and who I assume was the owner was wandering around and seemed friendly. We didn't wait an extremely long time for our food but it seemed like a while considering it was not at all busy. The food was very sub-par, especially for the price. I got linguine and my wife got fish of some kind. Both seemed either boxed/frozen or pre-prepared and reheated. We wanted to like Georgio's but I can't give a good review. Will not be going back unless it is overhauled.

Love Georgio's !! my wife and kids have had a lot of meals here and the food has always been outstanding. Service always joyful and happy. The linguini and white sauce with clams is incredible. I have tried a lot of the other dishes all good but you have to try the linguini with white sauce. Simply elegant. Will always go here when given the chance. I look forward to a Sunday morning breakfest one of these days

The decor in this restaurant is super dated, but if you're going for the food, it's one of the better Italian restaurants in the area.

The menu is a mix of Italian and Greek dishes. This place has been a fixture on the Downingtown main drag for years but I only tried it for the first time a few months ago. Apparently I'm not the only one who doesn't eat their because when we went at 6:30 on a Friday night the place was D-E-A-D. Food was pretty good, a bit overpriced but not too bad. What the place is lacking is atmosphere. A small remodel to bring it up to 2013 standards and it could be the hot place to hang out in Downingtown. Right now, definitly not the place to be seen for sure.

I agree with Melissa P. Our meal was good, but the service was very slow. When we were being served, there was only 4 other people at one table, so being busy was not an issue.

We walked in and there was one other table on a Friday night prime dinning hour. We were wonder if we chose a wrong restaurant. It turned out the food was good, service was excellent and the price was reasonable. We had pasta, chicken parm, Mediterranean salad and seafood combo. They all look and taste like they were made from scratch, not something made from Sysco supplies. They do deserve more clientele. May be they need to update their decor, do a little better in marketing and spend some money in advertisement.

Went on a Friday night...not real busy. The interior looks very dated. Food was very mediocre. Will not be returning.

Ok - i can only comment on one thing at Georgio's (btw the limelight is the sit-in portion next door). The Hoagies. Having been born and raised in West Chester I know what a REALLY good Hoagie is like. Over the years, various deli's in the area have excelled for some period of time only to be eclipsed at some point by a new place as their versions begin to get skimpy on the fillings. Wawa is a perfect example - 15 years ago their hoagies rocked, now they are passable imitations for the un-inititiated that no not the wonders of a real, philly style hoagie (yea they use good bread still, but hoagies are not about bread alone). BTW -- if you think that a Subway or Quinzanos chainstore "hoagie" is the real thing you are in for a treat. Georgio's makes em the ol' way. The Italian is loaded with a variety of traditional Italian coldcuts - including prosciutto (i always ask for extra). My son says the roast beef is "friggin awesome". Our friends have the same comments and experience -("oh yea - thats the place to go") It's the only thing I go there for - so no idea what the rest of the food is like. But if you want a REALLY GOOD old-fashion hoagie, this is da place. oh yea - don't forgot hot and sweet peppers, a little mayo, a little oil and da works - lettuce, tomato, onion. Manga!

I live in Downingtown and pass by this place almost every day but have actually only eaten here a few times. Most recently, I went for dinner on a Friday night. The place was pretty much empty (got a little busier by the time we were leaving). The food was okay. I've had better and i've had worse. Our waitress was friendly but the service was SO SLOW. I don't know that i've experienced this slow of service in my life. Considering we were one of maybe 4 tables in the place, it took about two hours to eat dinner. Our waitress would walk away and we wouldn't see her for 20 to 30 minutes. It was even hard to track her down for the check. The other times i've eaten here, the food was better and the service was not this bad so i'm not sure if this is typical. I got a seafood pasta that was just okay. The seafood was a little overcooked and kind of chewy but other than that it tasted pretty good.

I wanted to like this place since my husband and I firmly believe in supporting local businesses. We are business owners ourselves. We will NEVER go back. Never ate the food since it was 1 and 1/2 hours between our salad arriving and our decision to leave. Others who arrived after us were served before us. We've never actually done this before and were initially feeling bad about leaving. The bartender was great and was so obviously trying hard to keep us happy and check on our food. We paid him and tipped generously since something told us he deals with this sort of thing a lot. But, we didn't feel bad any more when we got to the parking lot and encountered another couple who had been served their dinner and had left just before us. They stopped us and said that we made the right decision to leave. They said they waited even longer than us and the food was terrible. He said "the filet was very thin and burnt.". We drove away without a care and were seated and happily eating great food no more than 30 minutes later at Brickside in Eagleview. Not Italian/mediterranean but at least they take your order promptly and feed you very well. A great burger and a glass of wine with great service is always better than the promise of great food that is never delivered. When we got home I wondered if maybe we just caught them on a bad night, perhaps the owner was on a well deserved vacation. But I checked the website saw a picture of one of the the owners, who I recognized as someone that I had seen tonight chatting up people at the bar. Sorry, but it is a Zero Stars from me.
