I ate there for lunch today and the food was good. I had ravioli and my wife had soup. The soup was average at best, but the ravioli was very good. They were not fresh, but very good, and the gravy or sauce was very good. The portion size was large. Their gravy is very traditional, which is the way I prefer it. The restaurant is brand new, just built from the ground up and is very attractive inside. The ambiance is good, but I think you should use cloth napkins if you are trying to create an image of an Italian restaurant versus a pizza shop. It seems the service is still a work in progress, but has potential to become a great restaurant, which is something sorely needed in the Douglassville area. They have no liquor licenses yet, but they are in the process of obtaining one. They will let you, from what the wait staff told us, bring in your own wine or beer.. no hard liquors. I asked if we could bring in our grain alcohol, and the waitress politely said no. Our bill was $31 with tip for ravioli, a bowl wedding soup, and two iced teas. I thought this was a little high, but this is probably because they have no lunch versions of their dinner entrees. I would definitely recommend this to others and will be there again!

The food is good...but definitely not worth the inflated cost!! Last night when we ordered from them, first we found out that they no longer had the buy 2 pies, get one free deal, which was very disappointing. But then when I went to go pick up our two large pies and a stromboli - it was $48!!! For a pick-up pizza meal!!! No way will I ever go here again. Their pizza isn't even as good as Pasquale's, the stromboli is really good at Vincenzo's, but I don't care how good it is, and how good their location is - it is NOT worth that much. We just had a sit-down meal for my family of 5 for just $5 more!! I will never go here again.

Has a really nice inexpensive lunch here today. We went at an off hour, around 2:30 and there were only a few other people there. We sampled the $9.95 lunch special which brought us a substantial amount of tasty food. It includes a choice of one entree one side (soup, salad, or fries) and a beverage. I started with a super version of Italian Wedding Soup. Full of mini meatballs and escarole with pearl pasta. Would have liked it a little warmer though. My wife had the house salad which had s good amount of fresh vegetables. My entree was a excellent chicken parmigiana with a side of pasta. My wife enjoyed the Chicken Vincenzo which was topped with asparagus mozzarella and red peppers and mushrooms in a Marsala sauce. We took home enough leftovers for another meal. Our server told us the dinner portions were even larger. We will be back for this great value.

No pizza for you! Went in with the family to order a large pie and a lot of other things. We were told we could no longer buy a large pie for dine in. Never mind we were going to order a lot of other stuff...no large put. It is on the menu...but won't sell it. They want us to buy personal pizzas instead. I'm sure they have a better profit margin. They had some strong points in the past...but they aren't strong enough to ever get us back in there again with their attitude. The pizza is mediocre. The traditional past dishes are bland. The hoagies are okay. They had some nice new sauces recently...but I won't be spending another dime there.

I'm actually surprised that his place is packed all the time - I wasn't aware so many people with bad taste lived so close to me! I only needed 1 visit to Vincenzo's to know that I'll never return. Terrible customer service, rude wait staff, food was burnt and overpriced. You're better off staying home and heating up a TV dinner.

STRIKE TWO! Well, after an unpleasant experience previously (see previous review,) my fiance decided that she wanted Italian for dinner tonight for her Birthday Dinner. We decided to give this a second chance. HUGE mistake. Much like our previous experience, we were seated and ignored. Unlike the previous visit, which was on a Saturday, this was a Tuesday and there were at best 10 tables in the restaurant. At least 5 servers walked by our table with never a nod of acknowledgement, or the slightest inkling of getting our drink order. After waiting 15 minutes, totally ignored, we got up and left. The interesting thing is that the young hostess that had just seated us a few minutes earlier, gave us a nervous half smile on the way out, but never said a word, whether it was good night, or to ask what is wrong. As I mentioned before, living less than a tenth of a mile away, they could have a steady customer here as we were really excited about them opening, but the lack of any concern for quality of service is thoroughly disgusting. My advice to management...SELL! Someone is willing to run a quality establishment in this area. Or if you don't want to sell, actually go to your business, do your job, and observe your staff and how they are treating customers. If you can't do this, I'm sure there is a good fast food franchise or diner for sale somewhere that would be more suited to your skill set. My advice to potential customers...If you want Italian in the area, go to Nepa's. We went there after we left this excuse for a restaurant and had a great meal, great service and will definitely go back to THAT establishment.

EXCELLENT! My brothers and sisters meet here and we have a wonderful meal with excellent service and good food. The menu offers the same foods we grew up with in our Italian home. The waitress was more than patient with us and remained cheerful through the chaos of taking orders form 7 people.

Ok...it's not a fine dining experience but we had a good experience on a Monday night with a group of six. Service was prompt and pleasant. All our entrees were hot and very good. Drinks were refilled promptly and everything was good This is a good place for a family dinner. Lots of options from pizza and salads to seafood. Good local spot that seems to attract the locals. Not bad at all

Had dinner here on Saturday night. It was very busy that evening. We had to wait about 25 minutes for a table. They do take reservations so in the future I'll have to remember that. The atmosphere is a low key family restaurant. I would not go here for a romantic date night. It's kind of a mom and pop version of Olive Garden. Our server was great though. He was at our table within seconds of us sitting down. He got our drinks right away. Our order was taken quickly as well. He brought our salad course out very fast too. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but again it was a busy Saturday night. I ordered the scallops with angel hair. I thought it was odd because the menu said they were pan seared but there was breading on them. The breading was soggy and falling off because of the sauce. The scallops were a little overcooked as well. My friend ordered a salmon pasta dish. Her salmon was a breaded too. I'm not sure why they serve their seafood like that. Also her salmon was in small bits. It would have been much nicer to cook the salmon in one big piece then put it on top of the pasta. Overall the experience was not bad. The prices were decent. I'll give it another try but I will not be ordering seafood again.

Time to write a review after 4 great experiences - authentic Italian cuisine in Douglassville! Welcoming decor, waitstaff is awesome, and the food is fresh and delicous! Don't get your heart set on a menu item until you hear what the specials are, we've ordered several of them, and this is where the chef's creativity realy shines! Not sure what restaurant Brian U. is talking about, we've had nothing but the finest service around at Vincenzo's!

Tough to recommend this newer establishment until they understand that service does really matter, not just a fancy decor. The food is only mediocre at best and as long as you know not to expect more than they are capable of putting in front of you, your expectations will be in line with what they deliver. My last and final time into this establishment left me watching the help karate chopping the stack of empty pizza boxes with loud screams as the other help (including the owners son) watched and laughed. Only after he recognized the look of disenchantment on my face did the son playfully ask the other help to apologize for the display. Plenty of other places around to have a better experience at than this place.

6 people for dinner on a Thursday night. One person gets their entree after everyone else is finished eating. Arrogant, short-sighted owner says there is nothing wrong with that. Well...they got their $17 for the mediocre crab cakes that finally got to the table but lost 6 regular customers.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
