They have quality food and even better service. The waiters are intuitive and friendly. Always my pick when in the area.

This place is the best!! The food is awesome, I have never been disappointed! The place is SPOTLESS, FRIENDLY And most likely you will know someone here if your from the area. You wont find a better wait staff anywhere, ask for Either of the Barbs, Jane, Mary and your bound to have the best service! This is a family like setting and the owners do everything possible to make your experience good. Best Pancakes Best Coffee Best Steak sandwich... Called Sunrise Steak I cant praise it enough!!

Been here a few times. It's very typical diner experience. Moderately varied menu with all the standard stuff. Place is clean. Always people there but never packed. Service is above average. Ordered the turkey reuben with slaw (posted a photo) and pea soup with unsweetened tea. Slaw was terrific. Almost identical to Famous Recipe Chicken's Cole slaw. Creamy and slightly sweet. I'm a huge reuben fan. The have an open face version on the menu with proper kraut and pastrami (or corned beef?) but I wanted a closed one and this was the only option. It was more like a Rachel than a reuben... Had slaw and Russian dressing and turkey. Even though the slaw by itself is great, it made the sandwich soggy. I also much prefer 1000 island. All in all, I would have been better off just asking for a modified version of the open face one. The fries were very good. Similar to the coated / battered fries you get at Checkers. Pea soup was decent. Tea was average, perhaps a little weak. Just before this visit I got the burger and onion rings. It was a bit average. Toppings were good but it had a big dry, chewy kaiser roll (meh). For value, it is good if you are OK with the included sides/options. I asked about adding a side salad (very simple and basic) but it was an extra $2.50. Not a big deal but that can quickly run up the bill.

One of those old fashioned stainless steel and glass diners from the 1950's, that is still pumping out excellent breakfast fare for road warriors. Pulled in driving my late model Zipmobile, and when I returned, it had transformed into a 1958 Packard. Just what I always wanted! The staff was perfect for this stage. Friendly, gregarious, and full of "Honey." The French Toast was very good, too. Enough egg, soaked through and through, and a caramelized texture where the super hot range had cauterized the surface of the bread. If they had used real maple syrup rather than the mass produced prepackaged variety, it would have attained all star (5 Star) status. Also needed a Cecilware coffee urn, rather than the newer Bunn for the best coffee. I don't mind cutting corners to make ends meet, but in my fantasy the syrup comes straight from a Vermont Sugar Maple to my plate.

I work not to far from here and one of my coworkers said they had the best paninis - so off we go - We get there and the menu is super huge - anything you could think of (or not think of), they had - Coconut Chicken and Shrimp caught my eye - so I asked if I could get it without the shrimp - the server seemed awful confused on why I would want to do such a thing, and I was confused at why she was confused until my eating partner said to her, why dont you just add more chicken instead, I just assumed that was a given - then it seemed to click - it said "topped with tropical sauce", and two sides and soup, so I just went with it - I got the potato soup, which was actually very good - I love potato soup and get it everywhere, but this was different, almost thin, a nice change of pace from the regular thick, heavy soup - especially when you are eating it before a meal. Then came out the chicken - The plate must have weighed 5 pounds. It basically was / looked like pan fried chicken, coated in coconut (no bread crumbs) with cool whip, fruit cocktail and balsamic vineger on it. Judge all you want, it was frieken awesome. It wasnt overly sweet as you would think but it was very heavy, but none the less delicious. It came with rice (blah) and applesauce (overkill on the fruit) - but really all that I wanted while I was eating were some french fries, which I stole from the person I was with (they were very good too). I was starting to go into sugar overload and was searching for some bread, but our waitress was no where to be found (when I did get some, it was good too). Over all - If you like diners, this is a good one, portions are super huge, food is fresh and waitresses are stereotypical. They got three stars from me, because really, I just do not love diners and I dont feel like being a diner should be an excuse for mediocere service. Oh, and price for enough food that could have been 3 dinners? 15 Bucks.

I'm surprised this diner isn't on Yelp for reals yet! We've been itching to come here on account of their apparently renowned coconut french toast. We arrived in early morning, along with the other on-the-way-to-work crowd. The location isn't too great, but who cares. The inside is pretty old as it seems the Sunrise is a bit old, but that's also okay. We come for the food, decor is just a bonus. We were promptly seated and given menus and drinks. I ordered the Philly omelet and orange juice. The omelet was HUGE, served with toast and home fries. It included steak (think cheesesteak steak bits), peppers, cheese and other delicious things I cannot recall. It really was a huge omelet: I had to take the rest of it home. My dining partner ordered the coconut french toast, which I sampled. It really was worth the little drive. The french toast had a nice sugary taste, with granola-y crunches and delicate coconut shreds coating the french toast. The prices weren't outrageous, the service was very good, and the food was tasty and delivered quickly. The Sunrise is everything a good diner should be.

This is a good little Diner in Croydon!! Been around for years, train station not far up the street. When in the parking lot you can see the train flying by doing over 200 mph. When you get to the inside can hear the train. Kinda cool. This place is well done from the inside out when it comes to it being remodeled. I was greeted by a very nice waitress, as soon as arriving. Welcomed with a mug and pot of coffee, and coffee creamer. With a all brand new menu, with alot to choose from. I went right to the back of the menu where all their breakfast specials are, and there are many to choose from, and the prices are great!! I wound up getting the pancakes fruit combo, which was okay. But i think they over did it with the whipped cream, and the bananas and strawberrys didn't look fresh as I was expecting. Hopefully the next time I have a better breakfast experience when it comes to the food. Other than that everything else was good, And will being giving it a 2nd chance.

I enjoyed the French onion soup, house salad, coconut shrimp-delicious breading, and spaghetti with sauce. My sister liked her chicken parmesan. Nice size portions as well. The server was fast and good. I would recommend if in the area.

I eat from here once a week. Big delicious menu I can get delivered, pick up, or eat in. In 13 years, I have lived in Croydon, I have never had a bad meal here. Can't go wrong. Why eat anywhere else?

I love coming here for breakfast! Food is good, quick & friendly service (always a plus when you have a toddler). Oh and I must add that the banana splits are great :)

What can I say? I love the Sunrise Diner. Their menu has everything and everything is good. My favorite is the Mediterranean Chicken Salad and on "cheat day" it's hard to beat their fresh (not frozen) burgers on a pretzel roll. SO AWESOME! Their fries are pretty tasty too. What I also like are the friendly owners and great wait staff. I just love going to the Sunrise. I know I'll never have a bad meal and when I'm dieting for a competition they are very accommodating when I request low-carb and low-fat options. They make substitutions for me without hesitation. This is THE go to place for me. I eat there at least once a week.

Food is not bad but it a little pricey for a diner, the waitress that served us was really nice and after looking at my friends order told them they could get the same thing cheaper and with extra stuff if they did a special.

Great food, friendly staff and management! Don't let the 'diner' name fool you, it's a few stops above typical diner food.

Only been here for breakfast. All other diners in the area pale in comparison. We always ask for Jane the waitress. Wonderful person and ALWAYS gets the order correct! Food is the best!

This is a great diner, the food is awesome, and the portions are huge! Waitress Barbara is wonderful, always pleasant, and goes out of her way to give great customer service!! I have only one complaint, there is a server there named Jane, she is nothing short of miserable, we've had her twice in all of the times we have been there. I ordered pancakes with fruit one time, and I didn't want all of the fruit that came with it, even though that is the way the menu presents it, I just wanted one type of fruit (shouldn't be too hard right?) She looked at me like I had 4 heads, like I was asking for something that couldn't be done, At any rate I got the pancakes the way I wanted them. Another time we had her, I asked for some water, so I could take some medicine with, I never got the water, (getting a small glass of water isnt difficult) she brought the food over a little while later, and NEVER came back to check to see if we were ok, or needed anything else. She acts like we are doing her some kind of favor, needless to say the last time we were there we left her a horrible tip, it was more than she deserved! She needs to be retrained in customer service, either that or she needs to find a different job, one in which she isnt serving the public. In getting back to the good, the owners of this established are great too, always friendly and polite. I don't live close to this diner, as I did a few months ago, but if we are in the area, we will make it a point to stop in,just as long as we aren't seated in Jane's section!

This is as perfect a greasy spoon diner as you'll find. From the excellent prices, big portions and solid quality food all the way to the pre-tab diner structure it lives in. The biggest down side they have is they're not a late night establishment meaning you'll need to go down the road to the Golden Eagle to get your late night breakfast fix.

I'm particularly tough on diners. Mostly because what they do is very simple, and because it's simple, I find it an insult to all the great diners out there when one falls short of the mark. This one falls short. I get the feeling that once upon a time, this place was good. However, now it has the feeling of a punch drunk fighter who should have retired five years ago while they could still count to ten. I would have given them only one star, but the coffee was actually pretty good.

A friend recommended this diner to us about six months ago and we have made it a point to visit it a couple times a month. So many diners have been bought out by others and then they seem to go down hill. This one is not that way. Their prices are reasonable and they have a lot of the old fashioned basics listed on their menu. We went there for dinner today and my husband had Chicken Parmesan and spaghetti - which came with garlic bread, caesar salad and desert. I had Perch made with a lemon sauce and it was lovely. My dinner included a small greek salad, vegetables and desert. Overall, we only spent $20. and both of us were more than satisfied. The restaurant is not that large but they are very consistent with their food. Friends we have brought with us in the past have requested to come back again more than once.

I go to Sunrise almost every weekend for dinner and have never had a bad meal, from burgers to full course meals the food is delicious. Some of the excellent dinners are their Eggplant Napoleon and Honey Mustard Chicken which is the same as Alice Springs Chicken from Outback but at a much better price. You can get a mini meal or the regular meal that will feed you for days. The soups are very good too. The cashier usually gives out a coupon to new customers that is reusable so every meal you have there is $5 off with the coupon. Recently I also had breakfast there and it was very good, skip Bob Evans and go to Sunrise for breakfast, you won't be disappointed. The diner itself is clean, the decor is new and the service is very good.

I have never stepped foot into the diner but I have had the food and it is great. They deliver and every time that you call the person who answers the phone is always nice. He even started to remember my order and would read it to me. Yes, I am a basically the same thing every time I call type of girl... but even when I try to something different I can ask for suggestions and get them. YAY!!! for them it is a great place, with good food and reasonable prices. Try them at least once you will be proud.
