One star. In all fairness, we had tried this place a few times, but had a 'last straw' moment on a recent Friday night and I have to say we will never bother with them again. Before getting into our bad experience, I can talk about the pizza. It's okay. I've had worse and I've had better. We enjoyed their extra thin crust, but found the sauce missing something. It's good enough. Now, to the unfortunate poor service. We had ordered a pizza and some appetizers on a Friday night for pick up, as we never like to wait for delivery. I was told about a 45 minute wait, which is a little long for pick up, but it was a Friday night so I just assumed they were busy. I showed up at around the 40 minute mark and paid for my items. My appetizers (cheese fries and mozz sticks) were brought out front from the back kitchen. The guy at the counter said something to the pizza guys up front and I was told my pizza was almost ready. I waited 5 minutes. Then 5 more. Then 5 more. Eventually, the guy at the counter asked me what I was waiting for. He mentioned my order AGAIN to the pizza guys. I waited 5-10 more minutes. Finally my pizza was ready. Well over the 45 minutes I was quoted and about 20-30 minutes longer than my appetizers. I knew that my fries and mozz. sticks would be cold, soggy and disgusting. And I was right. And then our pizza was undercooked, probably because they felt rushed that I was waiting so long. I really don't mind waiting for good food, and I can appreciate when a business gets slammed on a weekend night, but the kitchen and the pizza guys need to get on the same page. I shouldn't have soggy cold food while waiting on a pizza that hasn't even been made yet. Its a huge problem and we won't be ordering from them again. There are plenty of other average pizza joints in Conshohocken, and they will be getting our business from now on.

First time trying this place and was really looking forward to the pizza since I had heard great things. Called in for a pizza for take out on a Sunday night. Apparently everyone wanted take out last night. Medium half cheese, half Hawaiian with a side of ranch. Not too hard. It took over 45 minutes for our pizza to be ready. After 45 minutes you expect your pizza to taste like liquid gold. Now, I've never had liquid gold, but I was expecting some delicious pizza. The Hawaiian side was mediocre at best. I never go for cheese pizza, but at least it had taste to it. I wasn't impressed, but I was starving. They also forgot my ranch, but I forgot about it after the long wait and being so hungry in there with all the smells. Total came to $13.33.

Good pizza but kinda pricey when you add toppings or when you get a specialty pizza. If you are going to order from here go to conshohockencoupons.com to get coupons.

Legit pizza in the heart of town. The pizza has excellent, abundant mozzarella. The crust is thinish. Sausage is a strength. Quick delivery, very good local biz.

I ordered pizza, garlic knots and a small Chicken Caesar salad... Delivery guy arrived very quickly 15-20 minutes from the time I placed the order. The "Caesar"Salad was WARM and had no dressing on it or on the side.. Um hello? What did I miss here? Garlic knots were COLD. They were good once they were heated up. Had the perfect amount of garlic on it... But again.. Arrived Cold. Yuck! The only good thing was the pizza. It was delicious. If there is a next time I order from here it will be for the pizza, only.

Such a top notch spot! An intimate and comfortable vibe pairs perfect w a delicious hot slice. The guys running the counter are just there to be chill and get you some good food. I haven't explored the menu much, but I hear really great things about the wing dings. One of my favorite things is sitting in there and eating a plain cheese during Jeopardy hours.

Pizza was terrible!!! Fettuccine Alfredo was mediocre and the clam linguine was a joke... Only noodles and no clams. Never again!

Really good pizza! The guy behind the register was super friendly and definitely knew what he was doing. He was in charge of the whole process with pizza boxeslined up and ready to go. I'm not sure if he was Tony or Joe, but he could have been! Tony and Joe's has a big menu. So far I've only had the pizza and I really liked it. We got the Spicy Italian pizza, it had sausages on it and they were the sliced sausage, not the balls. I asked about delivery and the guy said there is a small fee, but there are always coupons out there and he gave me a flier. They take credit. Friendly waitress service with plenty of seating.

Will never be ordering from her again. I ordered a pepper, onion and sausage small pizza and there was probably an entire raw onion on the pizza in little shavings. I get I ordered onion, but there was more onion than cheese.

The pizza is very good. Nice local spot in Conshy. They also have outside tables. Recommend!

Pretty decent pizza joint in downtown Conshohcken. Nothing flashy here to blow you away. But the food is better than Papa Johns/Dominos/etc so buy local.

Excellent pizza and customer service. We accidentally ordered the tomato pie, not consciously thinking that there's no cheese on it (it had been a long day and we were very hungry and tired). When we went back to ask them if they could throw some cheese on top, they gave us a large cheese pizza on the house (along with the tomato pie). As it turns out, we LOVED the tomato pie even more! Thanks for being so awesome!

  • Andrew D.

good pizza, but a pain to park there. tons on the menu but i'd stay away from most items that aren't in the pizza-calzone-stromboli family. some of the better tomato pie i've had.

This review covers more of the service and new technology rather than the food. I ordered online, like most places T&J have upgraded to allow this service. The first thing that was odd was that while placing my order online I was never asked to pay. At the end of the ordering process I received a message stating that I would be contacted shortly for payment. Order placed at 5:30. At 5:45 I got a little apprehensive about not having paid for my order yet and so I called T&J's to ask about payment. I spoke to a very nice person who informed me that the drivers have a "Square" card reader and they can scan the card when they arrive at the house. That seemed reasonable, but then the T&J employee asked for my address to make sure they had my order. They had not received my order from the online ordering system. I thought "thank god I called" and I re-placed my order. While on the phone everything was double checked, order and address. I was told at this time that it would be an hour. 6:20 I receive a call from Tony & Joe's telling me that the driver was sent to the wrong location and that he would be right there with the order. I thought that that was a nice gesture to except responsibility for a mistake as management and not push it off on an employee. 6:30 My doorbell rings and the person that I spoke with on the phone, not the delivery driver, was at my house. Turns out the driver forgot a portion of my order and she had left the store to bring that item to me. She seemed a little thrown off that the delivery driver had not been to my house yet, apologized for the delay and left. 6:45 My doorbell rings again and finally the delivery driver is at my house with the rest of my order. Instead of the apologetic and nice people that I had been interacting with so far, I was met with a rude driver who acted as if delivering my order to the wrong location was my fault. He loaded up his phone and scanned my card. The card scanner program preloads easy tip buttons at 15, 20 and 25% there is also a button that allows you to enter whatever tip you want. I pushed the button to enter a tip of $3. When I did, the driver informed me that that function doesn't work and I could only use the preloaded tipping options. I used to deliver pizza, and know how much it sucks to get stiffed, so I begrudgingly tipped the driver 15% which was $4.63, completely undeserved, but there you go. After everything that happened, and all of the delays, the entire order was cold and had to be reheated. This was such a disappointing experience because my family genuinely likes the food. They have one of the best pizzas in Conshohocken. It may just be best to only do pick-up and call in my order going forward, but it will be some time before I call again. With all of the great food options in this area, the interactions with staff can greatly influence weather a customer calls your business or your competitor's. Again, I believe that the food, on a regular basis, is very good. Obviously sometimes the service is lacking.

Wasn't really planning on coming in here but it started pouring rain out of nowhere and I was forced to go into the first restaurant I found. I had a hoagie which was not bad, was a little bland but overall not a bad experience. It was very hot in there though. I think the only type of ventilation was the ceiling fan which was not doing much either. The overall feel of the place is very old school and not welcoming enough for a sit-down restaurant. I can say that Tony & Joe's is a solid place if you want some italian if you're looking for a convenient spot to fill your belly.

I like Tony & Joe's food, but now that I've been ordering there for a while, I figured it was time to update my original review. I never know which version of Tony's & Joe's I'm going to get, and that makes me not want to order there anymore. Half the time, the food I get is not what I ordered. I'll leave the specific directions to my apartment on GrubHub only to have them call and ask me where I live. Last year when the driver forgot my drink, he went back for it and brought me two. Great customer service! Tonight they forgot my drink, and the driver told me he'd bring it to me next time. The weather isn't great outside right now (which is why I gave a 20+% tip that I'm now seriously regretting), so I wasn't about to make him go back and bring me my $2 drink. But I just feel like checking the order prior to leaving the restaurant shouldn't be that difficult. It definitely shouldn't happen outside my door. When it's been a long, stressful day, I don't want takeout to be stressful too. I'll probably just stick with Keystone Pizza from now on.

So here's a quick hit on this place for you. I was at a recent volunteer event in Conshohocken, and I was told that the organizers fed us with pizza made at this establishment. Given that I had a few slices to try them out, I think I can tell you a bit about their pizza. I was happy. They were big foldable slices, yet it wasn't too thin. The cheese was relatively thick and so was the crust. It made for a nice hearty slice. I'm a fan of foldable slices, but not always a fan of overly thin pizza. So I consider this a good combo. Well played, Tony and Joe... well played!

I've been getting pizzas here for ten years. Not really because I like them or anything but because that's where I've been going for ten years. Apparently the pizza is good enough to keep me coming back but now that I read some of these reviews I think I'll try Ted's Place. A friend of mine goes there and says it's pretty good.

Hands down the best pizza in Conshy!!! Sausage topping is real sausage, cheese is hreay, every pizza we have gotten is good.

Pizza and a few pasta selections. No nonsense. This place is exactly what it should be.

Nothing too special. I tried the bbq chicken pizza and it was prett good.

Ordered a Pizza on a Thursday night and after close to an hour we called to see where it was. The reply was "you have only been waiting 51 minutes" it took an additional half hour and when it got here the pizza was cold and rubbery.

Pizza took a hour to get to me. The food was good, but not good enough to justify just a long wait.

I have been to this Pizzeria a few times now, and I have had excellent food and service every time. You can tell it is a family (or at least seems to be) oriented business, and that makes a very comfortable atmosphere. They have a great size menu, but I have not tried any of their more 'main' dishes. I have had about 5 different pizzas by now, and I have enjoyed every one of them. My favorite so far is the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. Even though they put a good amount of ingredients on every pizza, I never feel like it is too heavy to pick up, and need resort to a knife and fork instead. I had their wings before, and they do it a little different. They did not saturate their wings in the sauce, but put the sauce on the side. I think that is a great way to do it, and their wings were nice and crispy on the outside. I also recently tried their garlic knots, and was not disappointed. Our server was really helpful that night (but all of their servers have been great so far) and she brought me a knot so I could see the size before ordering. They are on the smaller size, so I would suggest ordering about 3-4 per person. Tons of garlic, but delicious!

Tony and Joe serve up the quintessential white slice. Base: A mildly sweet, never burnt, hand-tossed style crust that's thick enough to please carb-seeking 12 year olds and thin enough to satisfy carb-avoiding adults. Layer 1: A bit of olive oil and a smattering of fresh crushed garlic such that you can taste the effervescent crunch on alternating bites into this White slice. Layers 2&3: A thick layer of melted white cheese with ricotta rounds smattered throughout - you'll be amazed that a cheese thickness that rivals that of the crust could be so non-guilt inducing. Layer 4: Just a sprinkle of dried Italian herbs cap off the shiny white layers for a bit of elegance not typically seen at a joint where a slice and a cola cost less than $3.75.

  • Maria B.

Perfect, Italian thin-style pizza. Sauce is great, cheese is fresh and dough is chewy yet crispy. Slices are nice and big for 2.00. The white pizza wasn't what I was expecting so I won't get it again. It has some kind of creamy garlic sauce under the mozzarella and it just didn't work for me but that's just because we used to make our own white pizza at home so that's what I was expecting. There's not too much to say - it's bomb pizza. If you want Hawaiin or delivery or didn't grow up in Philly, you might not get it...but if you are local or Italian, you know this is exactly what pizza should taste like.

High quality toppings, mozzarella and sauce. I was a regular when I lived in Conshy and since moving to Phxville I hit them up a few times a month. I go for the Italian 'boli and sometimes a pie. You know how some Italian places give only meat and no veggies in their Italian 'bolis? Not TNJ - they get the toppings just right. The large are REALLY large; enough to get two or three meals out of it. They do get a bit flustered when they're in the weeds but never to the point where they're rude. I don't find the prices exorbitant as others have mentioned. Better than Iliano's and better than any of the others in Conshy that I'm aware of. Def worth it for you to check out!

I am not from the area, but stopped in with some people who work in Conshohocken and the pizza was great. We ordered one pizza (meatball and onion) as well as a cheesesteak. I had a good meal and would definitely go back when I am in the area!

  • Abigail L.

Wow this place is horrible! 1.5 hours to get dinner delivered tonight. When it arrived it was cold and tasted like crap anyway! What a waste. Pizza: crust tasted like it had been pre baked and day around for a week. Fries: ice cold Cost: way tooooo much!

    (1)
  • Emily R.

Upside: the old fashioned hoagie, chicken salad wrap and pizza were awesome and the people really nice. Downside is that there was an hour and a half wait for delivery so we had to pick up. No big deal though, it was worth it.

Best pizza ever got to go there not Original Tony & Joe I went to as a kid but there pizza is best too as they bought recipe off them got to check them out. The first owners I loved there pizza but they come close very good pizza and they have so much more to choose from.

I love Tony and Joe's. My favorite by far is the Italian stromboli. It is fantastic Combines the best parts of a hoagie and a pizza and it oozes goodness.

The food is really good, but if you come in the restaurant for a couple of slices be prepared to wait a while until they fill the corporate lunch orders.

Buffalo chicken cheese steak ROCKS! I used to get the buffalo shrimp. I don't anymore considering they are now charging close to $10 for them, especially when they're soggy and dont even really taste like shrimp. I could get a pound of shrimp at the store for less than that, and they aren't pre frozen tiny ones. Only 3 stars because of the prices. Bottom line; Slightly above average pizzeria food with above average prices.

    (3)
  • Meghan N.

I know I give practically everything four stars, but I really do like Tony and Joe's! I figure we get a pizza from here every other week, though we've been eating pizza almost weekly since this summer has been too hot to actually cook at home. Unless there's an Eagles game causing an order backlog, I can have a delicious pizza in 15-20 minutes. I call Friday at 6 p.m., 20 minutes for pick up. Hell yeah! It's nothing fancy, just simply great pizza. I need nothing else.

    (4)
  • Steven H.

5 stars for the pizza, less for the cheesesteaks. The pizza is some of the best NY style junk pizza you will find in the Philly area. The rest of the menu is good and I have never had anything there that was awful. There is a small, no frills dining area too.

    (4)
  • Lux C.

Best pizza in town! Totally old school

    (5)
  • Jamie M.

My grandfather and I are extremely picky about our pizza, but this is one place we can always agree on. We've only had a issue once with having to wait over 45 minutes to get our pizza (it was a night where football was on or something). Most of the time you are able to pick up your food in about 15 minutes. The pizza is great: not too thin crusted or obsenely huge crusted either. The chicken cheesesteaks (and regular cheesesteaks for that matter) are awesome as well.

    (4)
  • Seve' M.

I was really torn between a 3 and 4 star review of this place. When first moving to Conshy I only went to Illiano's because 1. IT WAS GREAT and 2. Thats my side of Conshy. BUT after getting to know more people that have lived here longer(or ALL their life, since NO ONE leaves Conshy) I was pushed to trying Tony & Joes. I had their pizza a while ago and it was pretty damn good(especially because they use real sausage) but that was all I was going to venture out and try until... I had two frat brothers come up from Atlanta AND the Eagles were going to play with Vick. I had to try and Philly them out, so we got 50 wings from the Boathouse, 24 pack of Yuengling, and 2 Big bags of Herr's. They still wanted what everyone wants when they visit....a cheesesteak. Didn't feel like driving all the way to Delassandro's(aren't they closed on Sundays anyway?) so I decided to try Tony & Joe's(plus if it sucked they wouldn't know the difference anyway). THEY WERE FANTASTIC, maybe thats just because I had so little faith in them but I had to say it. Best I ever had? No. But definately going to go back if I don't feel like driving. Now you are probably asking yourselves, "Self, why is he still only giving them 3 stars?". Well, their customer service pretty much sucks. It's been said before but these guys can give two craps about you and your order until you flag them down(mind you, the place isn't that big), wait time is pretty bad(definately call ahead), and they tend to forget to mark the different types of steaks you get so you have to try and play russian roulette if divying them up before you open them. Definately still going to be a customer but just can't make myself click the 4 stars.

    (3)
  • John D.

Their delivery is $3.00 and they take 1 and a half hours to deliver. I am not making this up, it happened twice to me, and I live very close to them. The second time, as the pizza came - it was cold. If you go in there the food is good, but if it gets delivered, it can be cold and take forever

    (2)
  • Jackie M.

Great pizza & Strombolis! I go here about once a week for pizza. I've only had takeout but it's always ready and hot when I get there. I'm not a huge fan of their Sicilian, but their regular pie is really good. The chicken cheese steaks, weren't great either... stick to pizza!

    (4)
  • Chris M.

Best plain slice in Philadelphia. Great sandwiches too.

    (4)
  • Anna R.

Best pizza in Conshy, especially with mushrooms, which must be marinated or something because they're delicious, and sweet peppers. Delivery usually takes forever, but it's usually only a 15-20 minute wait if you're willing to pick it up. The crust isn't super thick but has a nice chewiness to it, the sauce is nice and tangy and not overly sweet, and the cheese is really good quality and not too gummy or salty. I've eaten a lot of pizza in my day, and Tony and Joes is definitely my favorite.

    (4)
  • Lauren W.

just moved here and have only been once but was pretty impressed! roommates and I got a couple things to share - cheesesteak, chicken parm hoagie and a baked ziti. cheesesteak was average but I thought the chicken parm was delicious! very large and chicken was super moist. ziti was absolutely gigantic and came with a large order of bread and an entree-sized huge salad with lots of toppings. needed more red sauce in my opinion (but I feel that way about pasta dishes from everywhere!). The guy who took my order was very nice although, because I was starving, it felt like it took a long while to get the food. All in all for three of us, including a coupon we found in yellowpages, our food was around 23 bucks. not bad for almost 6 meals!

  • Max A.

Hands down my favorite pizza in the area! On occasion I've ordered cheese steaks and fries for lunch from here and they've been pretty good. I recommend if you're looking for a good, quick bite to eat.

Grew up near by, and for the best pizza we call here and PU. We didn't always want to drive, b/c they don't deliver, but when we wanted good pizza that is where we went. Whenever I'm in town and I'm craving a good slice I stopped by and pick one up here. The pizza is crispy, hot, flavourful and delicious. I dig this spot and will throw it up against any spot any place in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

I went to Tony & Joe's the other night with my Mom and brother. We were super hungry and we all wanted to try different things so we each got a medium pizza. We got a white ricotta cheese pizza, half-plain/half-buffalo chicken pizza and a BBQ chicken pizza. All of which we chose the extra thin option for. Overall, I would say we all thought the pizza was really good. For the area we live in it is definitely in the top tier of pizza. Would I go back again to eat there? Probably not. Would I get take out from there? Absolutely.

In my constant attempt to try differeent pizza places in and near Conshy, we gave this place a try last Friday. To sum it up, you can get a much better pizza for less $$ somewhere else. First of all it took just under an hour for them to deliver a large cheese pizza to me, 8 blocks away. Second of all the pizza had no flavor. NONE. No spices in the sauce, and the crust was chewy and slightly soggy. Won't be ordering from here again.

Best pizza in area.. frequently go to T & J's... My kids love it..they certainly don't skimp on the toppings when you order them.. have had the burgers there, but they can be hit or miss in flavor.. calzones are very good and nice size.. we have occasionally gotten cheesesteaks there and they are pretty good, but usually reserve that treat for Fat Daddy's in plymouth meeting.. would recommend
