Good Times at Guppy's Good Times! I stop in here regularly after golfing at Tee's up the street. Doesn't look like much from the outside...couple tables for outdoor seating, some smokers smoking...very unassuming neighborhood bar. Inside...also very unassuming...not much to it really...they have a main bar area, then 2 smaller rooms off of the bar, where we chose to sit. The main bar area wasn't full, but some of the patrons were singing so loudly(garth brooks, friends in low places) it certainly sounded like it was packed! Some locals having fun on a hot summer night...I'm fine with it, especially if I can distance myself from it by sitting in another section of the bar! Decent beer selection, service was friendly and prompt. The bartender was also our server and had no problem taking care of us as well as the rowdy crowd on the other side of the bar. Stopped back to check on us and get us drinks during our brief stay...I had the burger which appears to be a hand formed patty and was quite delicious! I highly recommend you try one! My wife had the Kathy Romano wrap (grilled chicken, mozzarella, guacamole, chipotle cream with a side salad) and enjoyed it thoroughly! We were very impressed with the food here! Ambience is lacking as it is a bit of a beer bar, but I'm OK with that as long as the place is reasonably clean, which Guppy's is!

This unassuming bar just off main street conchehocken delivers small time charm, and good food in a casual setting. Its nothing remarkable, just a good neighborhood bar with decent food and good drinks. The real draw here is the cheap beer, and my fellow 20somethings. The food is good, and the waffle burger is off the (artery clogging) hook!

Great corner local bar! Great food!! Now welcomes SUSHI in Conshy! All local craft beer selection, free ranged food no preservatives, and a great friendly staff! Live music and a DJ on the weekends!

Guppy's is that local, almost dive-ish bar that you go to drink and hang out. Located right at the corner of Maple and Elm, there is plenty of on street parking nearby. I didn't get a chance to try any of their eats, but their draft beer selection was good and I enjoyed a couple micro's that really hit the spot. So, I'd say this place is aptly named...bring some fun friends, get a little loud and crazy, and have a good time...at Guppy's.

Love this place! We randomly walked in here walking by one day not expecting it to be what it is but have been back many times since. The food is surprisingly excellent and one of the best spots for food in conshy. The atmosphere is nice and the service is great. Friday and Saturday nights can get really crowded and more of a typical weekend bar scene so if that's not your thing, go during the day.

Not like this place needs another good review but what the heck! Went on a week night for happy hour and appetizers. Greeted by friendly bar tender who humored me with explanations of the contents of the fancy liquor bottles. Beer selection was not huge, but had something for all tastes except for mine - however I don't drink beer! Ordered the chicken nuggets which were homemade and ALMOST as good as mine which is impressive since I'm a master chef. The bartender explained everything is made in house from scratch, which may explain the wait some people described- always worth the wait if you have time! Which you should if you're going to hang out in a well maintained, tasteful music playing, friendly bar that features instagram selfies from previous nights on a side screen . I think you can submit it to them and they choose them. Very entertaining- especially since we don't do that type of social media! Nice, 20's/30's crowd. Five stars because I can't find anything to fault them for. Kudos!

I never tried Guppy's as a restaurant, just as a bar. This place is great for watching post-grads hook up, as long as the DJ isn't playing awful music. Stick with beer and normal mixed drinks, because the "Conshy Crush" is atrocious. It's like someone mixed up a batch of Tang, and then added Vladimir vodka and hate.

Went to Guppy's for the first time last night and "Yay! I'm a fan." I went with some friends after work for happy hour... they have great happy hour specials. $3 beers, $4 call, $4 wine, and $7 appetizers. The salmon tacos were bangin'... super good! We also really liked the Amanda Fries. Friendly bartender, quick service, clean establishment. I was very happy with the experience yesterday and would definitely return. A must try in the Conshohocken area!

Stopped in few a few post-dinner drinks. Got there around 730...cleaner and brighter than some bars I've been to. The bartenders were friendly, the music on the digital jukebox was good and the beer selection was decent. We didn't eat as we were still stuffed from dinner. We were heading out around 930 and overheard a younger customer tell her friend how early it was. Ahhhh....the difference between 27 and 47...I wanted PJs on at that point, she wanted to party. LOL!

Came in for brunch w friends. place had just opened. very few staff on site and i thought the place was closed. brunch menu is diverse enough but they wouldnt serve me a small portion so i didnt eat - what's with that?? Only serve food if you waste it?? the one guy there had his pants belted below the waist, lol - Hello, the 80's are calling. PArking is tight on the street and warning sisgns all over the nearby closed businesses b/c of the train station nearby and they dont want cars parked in their lot likely weekdays. It has more of a rep as a meet market for youngsters so dont go out of your way for the food.

As the name says, Guppy's is a goodtime. It has great bar food, good specials throughout the week and on Friday/Saturday nights. It's great for happy hour and solid a weekend night. On the weekends, there is a DJ, with a solid dance floor that can get crowded once it gets going. If you enjoy a lively happy hour and one that won't break the budget this place is for you, if you enjoy partying later on, stay longer, this place is also for you. Crowd is easily mid 20s to mid 30s. People are always friendly and like I said at the beginning...a good time.

The atmosphere is typical bar. The drinks are typical bar, it's the food that disappointed me. I ordered the "best salad ever", no seasoning, covered in oil, it was not by any means the best. I substituted for a veggie burger and it had all the ingredients of the makings of the "best veggie burger ever" but it was under seasoned as well. I'll come back to drink cause the music was good, but no food, at all.

We were in on a Thursday night, mostly to see the guitarist they had playing who happens to be one of our friends. The music was enjoyable and the bar was busy but not packed, so a pleasant environment overall. The prices for drinks seemed very reasonable and the bathrooms were pretty good for a bar. My one complaint is that the floor, my barstool, and the bar were all very sticky. Kind of gross, but I got over it. My final point isn't a complaint, but more of an observation -- this is a fairly "young" bar in that I felt that the median age was about 24 and that might be on the high side. My husband and I are in our early 30s and we felt a little like fish out of water (pun totally intended) in this environment ... at least until we were a few beers in. Just a heads up.

The only reason it's getting two stars is because the Huevos Rancheros were pretty okay. Now it did take about 30 minutes to get breakfast and the clearly irritated waitress/bartender doesn't seem to have much of a sense of urgency either. I would have to blame an owner or manager for not putting enough staff on and only having one person to do everything. I won't be back it's just too much of a hassle.

Recently my man and I traveled to Conshohocken for the first time. Our first stop was Guppys (based on recommendations from friends) and we had a great experience. We were warmly greeted by the bartender on, Jess, I think was her name. We had two drinks and some guacamole. And she immediately made it a point to stir up a nice little conversation with us, which is hard to come by when a bartender doesn't consider you a regular. Needless to say, we will definitely be back in the future.

I should preface this review by stating that as a bar hangout this place is great. They have decent beer prices and drink specials, and I have no complaints regarding the happy hour. I do not recommend the breakfast though and would steer clear of their brunch. I went with a few friends the other day and had the most horrible breakfast experience known to man. Considering the number of other good places to eat in Conshy, I would never go back. Only 1 of our 3 meals came out hot (after about an hour wait for our food), our coffee refills were cold and the service was atrocious. When we sent our meals back, they proceeded to heat them in a microwave rather than remake them. The eggs tasted like rubber and my friend's pancakes, which by the way were reheated with whipped cream on them, were not edible. The potatoes were absolutely disgusting (worst I've ever had), and we actually had to walk up to the bar to get refills on our drinks along w/our check which ended up being almost fully comped because of how horrible both the service and food was.

This was the place I decided to go to for Conshohocken's Restaurant Week because it was smaller price range for just the same amount of food compared to the other restaurants. I was very happy with this choice and I think they are doing an excellent job with their food menu. Warning: even though I got to see it as a very nice and clean local restaurant/bar, I have read other reviews that it can get pretty crowded and noisy on weekend nights. If that is the scene you are going for in addition to wanting good food then go here. If you are more interested in just trying their food I would recommend checking their food service hours and not go so late on a Friday or Saturday night. Overall I am very happy with the food and service I received while dining here for restaurant week. Even though their restaurant week menu had a few choices on it that is not on their typical menu I did try their poutine and cheeseburger and both were very good.

I wanted to get drunk, dance my butt off and have great memories to go back home with. Guppy's served me a few Conshy Crushes (vodka, energy drink with a citrus flavor) and that was when I started my fun. It's tiny inside, the dj area barely fits 25 people but maybe that's why I made some fast friends with strangers---people are friendly and the service is fast. My friends live nearby, love it here and I understand why---simple and easy-going.

Like most twenty-somethings in the Philadelphia area, I have friends who live in Conshohocken and I've inevitably made the rounds of the Conshy bars- Boathouse, the Pub, Guppys. But since starting a new job out here, I've had the chance to try out Guppy's for lunch. While it was strange to be eating lunch with my boss in the same place that a 22 year old Jill drank cheap beer and got hit on by drunk ex-frat boys was a bit strange, I'm glad I got the chance to check it out for lunch. A group of 14 (!!!) of us went down to Guppy's for our ritual Friday office lunch. The hostess/waitress/bartender looked like she was going to puke when she saw our large group, but luckily there was space for all us (but we had to sit at 4 separate tables). The first thing I noticed was that they had a very extensive burger list AND all burgers were just $7 for lunch. I'm not usually a huge red meat person, but I was craving a big, juicy burger so I knew what I was getting that day. I went with the Caprese Burger, which had fresh mozzarella, tomato, arugula, and pesto. This burger also came with fries. My verdict? I thought the burger was really delicious. The meat could have been seasoned a bit more, but I loved the toppings and am looking forward to trying out some more of those $7 lunch burgers! One thing to note: the serving sizes were a bit small. I didn't mind, because I really didn't need to be in a food coma for the second half of the workday. But some of my coworkers were not satisfied with their meals. The burger itself is on the smaller side and the portion of fries is a large handful (which I really liked because I LOVE french fries but I don't want an ass the size of Texas). Service was a little slow, but I blame that on the fact that 14 of us came in at once. If you are a party of 2 or 4, you'd be in and out in no time at all.

I've never eaten here, but if your looking for a place to drink with an average of 25-30 year olds, this spot is for you. Great weekday drink specials and live music by "Phat Asian." If your in the mood to get to drunk, try the Conshy Crush. These are only $5 on Fridays. Great pre game spot!

Guppy's is typical Conshocken. The crowd typically ranges from 25-40. It gets younger the later at night you get. The bartenders are generally friendly, but they have trouble handling when it gets packed. The layout is like a shoe horn, so moving around can be tight. They try to separate themselves from other local bars with an atypical food menu. There are healthy fish and salad choices, poutine fries, bison burgers, etc. The problem is that none of it stands out, so it just averagely different. The atmosphere is a little loud when crowded but fun. I alway enjoy it.

Guppy's is by far my favorite bar in Conshy. The night life here is awesome and draws like a late 20s early 30s crowd. The drinks are reasonably priced. It is small and does get packed but it is so fun. DJ takes requests and plays mostly party hits. I have happy houred here and it was delicious. The chicken tacos were great. The burgers look divine as well. The menu has a Canadian twist to it which is interesting. The brunch on the weekend is also great and a good deal. All around awesome place.

First time to Conshy with my girlfriend since we moved to Philly. Wanted to spend a day bouncing around to places we've heard about. PLEASANTLY surprised by this little gem. Walked in assuming it would just be your run of the mill sports bar pub with mediocre service and sticky floors and bar tops. Nope. Jess was our bartender. She was sweet, attentive and knowledgeable. I could go on and on, but why bother. You get the point. Although we only had an app, which was both generous and delicious (guac), because we are hopping around, we plan on coming back and staying for an entire evening (as long as Jess is working). So thank you Guppy's. We will be back cause in the hospitality industry, first impressions count more than bad "Yelp reviews" ;)

Someone told me that I should just update my previous review with this posting, so have at it; I got a VERY angry and irrate message from "Dan.W" from Conshy. No reviews and no friends but alot of hate stemming from my review of yelp.com/bi .... Not sure exactly which part of the staff sent me such a profanity laced message but now I can become part of the select few that have endured the wrath of a business owner. I know I said at the end of my review I would be happy to speak with anyone about what I had said but this wasn't even a call to decency on my part. I haven't heard(read) more 'N-words' since the last time I heard Waka Flaka Flame during my time in Atlanta. I would go the route of placing the entire message up here but it would most definately be taken down in a quick second. I will howerever leave you with, which I have to admit I laughed at, the last line..." I look forward to hearing from you in the future and sincerely hope you don't fall into a pile of burning dog shit and choke on it."

Great burgers, friendly bartenders, fun atmosphere, and a good variety of live music. I love this place and go at least once a week. Late Friday and Saturday nights, Guppy's sometimes turns into a magnet for single 20-something's looking to get lucky... But that's Conshy for you. Make sure to try the Amanda fries, and if you're trying to have a wild night, order a few Conshy Crushes (on special Friday nights until 10).

This place draws a in locals due to the location. Unless you know the bartender expect terrible service. I also ordered the same beer 3 times and was charged a different price all 3 times. I was also given incorrect change. Also, the temperature is never right inside it is either hot or the air is blowing in your face.

This is one of my favorite places in Conshy. Especially on weekday nights. Weekends would tend to get a little crowded. The food is all natural and not processed so I really liked that part. I loved all of the chalk art work and specials on the walls in various colors as well, great atmosphere. The beer swlection is good and bar tenders have always been friendly. Good spot to go for a break from the bike trail.

I just finished my gluten free salmon wrap from Guppies and it was AMAZING. I have never tasted a gluten free wrap that good and I have been gluten free for 3 years. The waiter was so accommodating and made sure everything in the wrap and salad was gluten free. It is all made from scratch right at Guppies! They also placed my wrap in a separate bag (we ordered take out) from my fiance's wrap and made sure the grill was clean from cross contamination (I am very sensitive). I highly suggest Guppies whether you have a gluten allergy or not. The food in their new menu is so fresh and so good. Great atmosphere as well. This will definitely be a weekly stop for my fiance and I.

Going into this place for an after work event, immediately when I looked at it I thought this was the type of place that would get 3 stars from me right off the bat. It's small, the entertainment is as basic as it gets, and the beer selection is moderate at best. It just didn't strike me as anything special. Since I was hungry, I thought that they would have to really wow me on the food to get that 4th star. Then a funny thing happened. I'll be damned but they pulled it off. They have a simple menu with a few interesting choices like bison burgers. I went for their wings, and a chicken quesadilla which was a Wednesday night special for 5 bucks. Although the quesadilla wasn't overly seasoned something about it grabbed me. It just tasted well made and fresh to me. I devoured it. The wing sauce had a pretty complex list of ingredients on the menu that I now can't remember, but it was sweet and tangy with just a hint of heat. They pleased at least two people in my party. Another person with us devoured a burger and fries and declared thumbs up. It's a basic and simple place. But in the local area it holds its own on food quality. Stamp of approval given!

Had an early dinner yesterday. Food excellent by any standards. Not the typical bar grub though the place looks like a shot and beer place. Interesting menu. Friendly staff. The east norriton location was a more comfortable dining experience but they are equals in quality. Clean and nice. Will return.

Out for fine night in conshohocken with the buds. I ended up at Guppys Good Times for a genuine good time. Normally I would write a phenomenal review about this bar, but on this occasion I shall not. On this faithful night Dj "douche bag" Danler kicked me out of the bar. Why I ask? Why? I'll tell you why Guppy's. The reason is that I requested a song. I was told that I was to drunk to be in your bar, when in fact I had no where near the full amount of my drinking capacity. Guppy's you have beer, which I love. Guppy's you also have the Danler which no one loves. In my closing statement I will say two things. First Guppy's keep doing you, because you're great. Second, Danler go fuck yourself you asshole piece of shit. You suck as a Dj and are a terrible person. Next time you kick someone out for requesting songs you should be fired. Good day.

Guppy's Interesting that it was recommended to me by a nurse following a medical test, but I always listen when someone takes the time to tell me about a food experience they really liked. I took my wife and 16yo son in the front door and almost immediately left. This is a bar people, and it certainly didn't look inviting for a sit-down or a conversational dinner. We didn't leave. We found a small table in the back that was removed from the Friday evening revelry and volumes that drive me into my shell. The menu is simple with a few ambitious items that will interest any foodie. But the greatest thing about the food was that its patronage of local businesses. Meats, vegetables and breads that are local and never frozen. My started off with a chowder that was full of vegetables and chicken, and a flavor that was intense if not just a bit salty. I was impressed with the soup, but I couldn't finish it for fear of not leaving room for the burger I ordered. The burger was superb. For burger aficionados this was a few steps above 5 guys or any base-line burger you will find in the area. It was juicy, thick and full of delicious cheese, onion rings and a tangy lip smacking sauce. Guppy's also puts thought into their fries, which were presented nicely and had that flavor and texture you rarely see at any bar. My wife went for the pork chop, which was thick and tender and had a smoky delicious flavor. Even nicer is that I think it came from Maple Acres behind the Plymouth Meeting Mall - a place that I often visit for local produce and meat items. Even more sublime than the wonderful chop, was the creamy mouth-watering risotto, a dish I would have eaten as a main course! I will definitely revisit Guppy's on another day and try some of their other items. I think this, along with the Conshohocken Café, will become two of my favorite new haunts in Conshohocken. :) Enjoy!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I was there last night with my husband, and the service was the worst of any place I have been to in a while! They were busy, but had 3 bartenders working, and we sat there for quite a while with empty glasses or no glasses at all in front of us. The chef they have there is supposed to be very good, but the food was simply awful. The veggie quesadilla was almost all cheese, very little veggies, and the cheesesteak rolls were greasy and tasteless. I usually give almost every place a second chance, but this was so bad that I won't be doing that. I'm editing this review to say that obviously I never have posted a review. This place was so bad that I felt compelled to post a negative experience I had here. Maybe it's not like this all the time, but it was really bad last night.

Guppy's was the first stop in a friend's birthday bar crawl this past Saturday. We invaded promptly as they opened (5 PM). This modestly-sized, informal corner spot has cushy seating, appealing decor, and a fun selection of beer. This place has an awesome name - how can you beat "Guppy's Good Times" - and our bartender (John) was just as awesome. He made us tasty Duck Farts [shots] and even comped one for our friend's birthday. Recommended for a guppy good time. (It's also a million times better than the Great American Pub, for those of you who've been.)

Good day.

Guppy's looks, acts, and smells like a typical neighborhood taproom. Then your order food. The menu is cleverly disguised as bar food but SO MUCH BETTER! Their "Poutine" is straight out of Montreal; hand-cut french fries with gravy and cheese curds. Order a burger, any burger; they're amazing.

:) Enjoy!

Had an early dinner yesterday. Food excellent by any standards. Not the typical bar grub though the place looks like a shot and beer place. Interesting menu. Friendly staff. The east norriton location was a more comfortable dining experience but they are equals in quality. Clean and nice. Will return.

Been coming to this bar over the past 2 years - usually for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat. It's menu has been up and down, but they now have a really tasty burger list and serve homemade fries. With a new front door it's a lot more inviting, but being there one very sunny afternoon - I noticed the tables and glasses could use a good scrub! Overall it's a good local spot.

"Ehhhh" is the first word that comes to mind. The food = Average. The atmosphere = Average. I absolutely loved this place a few years ago, but as the prices increased and the crowd changed from those in their later 20s & 30s to recent college grads & students home on break, I have definitely fell out of favor with this place. Guppies is an over-priced dive bar -- Nothing more. The high (for what you get) prices tend to keep out most of the trash, but always keep your guard up for those creepers.

Kinda looks like a dive bar but has a decent younger crowd. Good food and decent beer selection. Definitely off the beat and path of most "Conshy" bars.

The drinks are all ice and mixer with a splash of alcohol. Poor value. The nicer atmosphere is NOT worth the poor value. Head over to Casmar for a great value, but a divey atmosphere.

I am so disgusted in this place!!!! I went there to celebrate my 40th birthday and thought we would of had a great time, but we didn't the bartenders were awful and the one blonde bartender kept taking money off of the bar and not returning the change when we told her about this her way of handling the situation was to scream at the person who said something to her. I am not a 21 year old kid I really did not expect for a bartender to handle a situation like this at all. needless to say my 40th birthday was ruined because of the rudeness at this place. AWFUL SERVICE

I recently moved out of the Conshohocken area, but I make as many excuses as possible to come back and visit so I can stop in to Guppy's. I still consider Guppy's my home bar even though I now live over an hour away. Guppy's has a great staff and a collection of fun regulars. I know I can count on stopping by at any given time and running into people I know. Guppy's has a great selection of beers on tap and some really great food. The happy hour prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend the breakfast on the weekends. Guppy's is a must visit spot when you are in Conshy!

Some friends and I went to Guppy's last night for a good ol' holiday weekend bar blitz. The place was packed, but we found a spot in the back near our buddy DJ Dan, who was on fire all night. Killer tunes coming from that guy. The service was quick and the bartenders were friendly. The only reason they lose a star is for their disappointing beer selection. I'd be back more frequently if I knew I could drink some good, flavorful, maybe even locally made beer. I spent all night begrudgingly drinking Magic Hat #9 last night and I don't want to do that again for a while.

I rarely post on here but after days of telling everyone about how we had the worst service of our lives, I felt I should share. Visiting friends and family in the area, we were looking for a decent brunch spot that could accommodate 6 of us without a long wait. Guppies seated us right away and wasn't busy at all for a Sunday afternoon (we soon learned why). There were some patrons at the bar and two other tables of two. We knew we were in trouble when our waitress came over and rolled her eyes at us for not know what a bloody mary bar was or that they had one. When my husband asked for a bloody maria, the response was, "ugghhhh, I guess". About half an hour later, we finally received our drinks and had the opportunity to place our order - an act that seemed to be of utter inconvenience to our server. One friend forgot to ask for water and was afraid to do so afterwards - our server was that snappy. When the food came out 45 minutes later, she'd forgotten toast for those with sunny side up eggs. They asked politely and the server told us, "Well there's only one chef so it's going to be awhile". 10 minutes later we asked again and were met with another eye roll and such a nasty look, I thought we were all going to melt. Finally, they gave up and just ate what they could of their eggs with no toast to dip in them. The toast arrived, barely toasted, about 15 minutes later. At this point, our drinks were empty having never been offered another round and we just asked for the check. The food was decent but with all the misery surrounding it, it was hard to enjoy. All of us had been servers at one point or another, we understand that some days are hard but the fact that on a not busy day someone could be that unpleasant and absolutely rude was astonishing. The manager/owner was around the whole time and seemed unfazed by her behavior. My husband half-jokingly asked if he could take her aside and discuss the fact that maybe waitressing just isn't her calling. Regardless, damage done, it was enough that we'll never ever go back.

Way too small of a place for the amount of people that go there. Went there with a couple of friends on a sat at 7 and we got seats at the bar and ordered some food. I got a cheeseburger with cheddar and bacon and barbecue sauce which was really good. By 8:00 the place started to fill up rather quickly and I'm glad we had already eaten because there were people standing right up against my back which was really annoying. I kept taking people's money and giving it to the bartender because they couldn't get to the bar to order their drinks.

Run of the mill bar in Conshy. When I was there it was overly crowded, which seems to be the norm there. Personally I don't see what the lore is but some people just love this place. I found myself waiting and waiting and waiting to get a drink from the bar. Thats not really my style since I can just go to the GAP and get drinks right away and not feel like a sardine. Bottom line; Seems to have its own "cult" following that I just dont get. If you like crowds and slow service, give it a whirl.

  • Jessica A.

Atmosphere is honestly a lot nicer than I expected, they've done a good job fixing the place up. But I was there on a Saturday night and asked for a glass of white wine (probably my first mistake) and the bartender offers me white zinfandel. Strike one. Then I ask for a Hoegaarden, one of their featured beers and they're out of it. Strike two. Blue Moon? Nope. Strike three. Miller Lite it is..... Sorry, but on a Saturday night, make sure your bar is stocked.

Quite possibly the best bar in Conshohocken. But its truly hit or miss. Some nights this place is packed to the gills while other nights you can have the place to yourself. Friendly bartenders serve up local specialty drinks like "Conshy crush" and always have a decent selection of beers on draft. Prices are reasonable and I hear they serve some pretty good food.

I met up with some friends here twice and the service was a little slow. The food was pretty decent. I got a cheese steak of some sort which was alright. Parking may be an issue but if you drive around you will eventually find a spot.

I consider myself, as im sure 99% of people on yelp THINK they are, a connoisseur of bar food. Only bar food. So, with that said, I was in Guppys one night because my friends live in Conshi and they live at this bar. I've been here a million times, but never got the food. Anywhere with 2$ High Life Bottles all day and Golden Tee is good in my book. So I got a Burger because i was hammered and hungry and maybe a little somethin else, just expecting a frozen patty on a bun. What I got, was a VERY well seasoned, juicy, melt in your mouth burger on a good bun that i destroyed in less that 3 minutes. A nice hidden little gem in the heart of conshi.

One of my local favorites. Wide variety of micros on tap and some great food selections. The menus are a little hard to read, but they're printed on recycled paper grocery bags. The bar frequently supports local charities and other fundraising events. Ask for Guppy next time your in and he'll fill ya in...

Imagine your favorite nice intimate dive bar. Now overcrowd that bar with WASTED 21-25 year-olds. Then turn the music up to 11 and turn off the air conditioning. Lastly, supply everyone with cheap beers and get them on the dance floor. That's Guppies Good Times. Knowing that, you'll either love it or hate it. For me, it's one of my favorite places in Conshy.

This place is great! It's a neighborhood staple in the Conshy community that has awesome food and fun drinks (and it wont break the bank)! There's usually live music or a DJ and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. You can almost always find the owner, Robin, walking around and making sure everyone is having fun and being taken care of. Absolutely one of my favorite places in the Conshy area!!

  • Raul C.

This is by far my favorite bar in Conshy. No one comes close. The menu is fantastic, the bartenders are friendly, and the owner is a hands on kind of guy who will do whatever it takes to make your experience epic. I've seen him run food, make drinks etc. His menu features all local meats and produce. If you don't like a crowded, loud, fun bar, then check it out on an off peak night like Monday or Tuesday. Anyone who says anything negative on here does not know the business. Here's a few pointers: 1) if you want a drink and it's Thursday,Friday, or Saturday night, tip well and be assertive. 2) if you've ever met robin, then you should be as appalled as I am at some of these reviews. I've known him for several years, and he is a GREAT bar owner, which I don't say too often around these parts. He's also a great person. Would take the shirt off his back to keep you warm type of dude. 3) know wether you are an off peak type or on peak. Muy importante! Off peak individuals like a quiet ambience, and prompt service. On peak individuals like to be in the middle of big crowds and high energy people. I hope these pointers help at least one person out there enjoy their guppy's good times experience(s). I have been in and out of the restaurant business for 14 years now, and trust me, I know a good thing when it comes to food & beverage. In the game of baseball, Guppy's is a home run! -Realtortainer

Guppy's is a cool little place close to my apartment. It is a great place to catch a game, and it has a great local feel to it. I have not tried the new menu yet, but I have heard good things, and I am looking forward to it. It does get pretty packed sometimes, which isn't always the best. Still, it is a college-feel type place (think Manayunk) in a town that is a little older, which is fun under the right circumstances/with the right friends and level of lubrication.

Guppy's is BY FAR the best place in Conshy if you're looking for good food, nice staff, and a fun night out. It is reasonably priced with healthy menu choices as well as good music. I have no complaints and dont understand some of these reviews. The owner is so friendly and nice and came up right when we got our food to ask us if everything was OK. Definitely go to Guppy's!!

I love gups!! the Conshy Crush is their signature drink so youll have to try that atleast once! Always a fun crowd of very happy people. They could use a better Air Conditioner in the summer but thats never deterred me before!

Every time my girlfriend and I go here, we enjoy ourselves immensely. Owner = Awesome. Christian and other bartenders there are great. Love the food here. And overall just a great hangout place. Definitely one of our regular stops in Conshy.

The owner is a nice guy and will be rolling in the dough when the apartment complex across the street is done. He's trying to fix the place up nice, but come on - its Conshy. At least you won't get stared at like you have 3 heads when you walk in, like other local bars.

I've been to Guppy's a few times with some people from my old job and it is pretty good stuff. On Thursdays, during happy hour, they have twenty-five cent Buffalo wings. And they are delicious too! Along with those wings, you could grab a cup of beer for two dollars. Also, they have poker games occasionally, free to all with cash prizes. The dcor is nice and the atmosphere is mostly a young crowd. Stop by if you are in the area!

I just tried the new menu at Guppy's and it was awesome! They have a new chef from a very well known Philly establishment that has completely revamped the menu to feature all fresh organic items. Nothing pre-packaged or frozen! Personally I really go for all that farm-to-table stuff...you really can tell the difference in the quality of the produce and proteins. That doesn't mean they have strayed away from the style of food that you would expect from a business that is indeed one of the best places around to go get a drink with co-workers for happy hour or meet some singles on the dance floor on a Friday or a Saturday night. The only difference is now that food is really really fresh and really really good. It's clear that the owner is trying to make this a spot that brings people to Conshy. If you're a burger fan I would recommend the Wowee burger. It has this bacon on it that is unlike anything I've ever had. There is also a cheese and gravy french fry dish called the poutine that you have to try with the new hand-cut french fries (like I said, nothing frozen or packaged) so they are some of the best around. I think this new menu is going to add a whole new dimension to this spot that is already a local favorite.

Nice space and decent enough neighborhood bar. The food I got...the Kathy Romano wrap....was terrible. I had a big chunk of chicken skin in the middle of it and had to ask for more ranch dressing that tookTEN MINUTES to get from the bartender. That was after I asked for a second beer from a different bartender but she threw up her hands and said, "I'm done" and wouldn't take my order. At 8pm at night? Weird. My husband's burger looked great and the fries were good but I was seriously disappointed by the food. Funny enough, the lollygagging bartender had a shirt on that said, "the food doesn't SUCK". How wrong that was!

You're typical college bar. For whatever reason they keep hours only on the weekend(including Thursday and excluding Sunday). They also have your grandfather's beer selection (with the exception of 1 Red Hook and 1 Sierra Nevada). The bar was kinda what I expected. If I was 18, I might think it was cool. Otherwise, the only reason to go to this bar is to get belligerently hammered b/c they don't offer much else in way of selection or quality.

place is cool for a drink or a night out with town. since the grande has opened business has really picked up there and the crowd is a cool young "non-hooligan spamps" crowd. If u want to have a fun night with cool music good bar service and a mid 20's to mid 30's crowd looking for a good time this is ur place. have never eaten there so cant review that but give it a try for some late night drinks instead of being stuck at the pub or spamps
