Ahhhhh Franzone's! You intoxicate people with your sweet, sweet sauce and have them wanting more. There is a sister store in Bridgeport that carries the same name, but they are separate stores. Local lore is that they are owned by brothers that no longer get along, but both use the family name and sauce recipe in their pizzerias. Franzone's pizza is either a love or a hate and I've never found anyone that is inbetween. I love it (as do my coworkers) and Kristine hates it, so I have to get it for lunch during the week. Anyone who has grown up going to the Jersey shore would find something very familiar about this pizza. Even though it's been years since I've been down there, I equate it with Mack and Manco's or Prep's pizza in Ocean City, NJ. They make their pizzas with a thin flaky crust, sweet sauce and just a little bit of cheese swirled on top. We've tried variations of toppings over the years, but it seems like just a plain cheese pizza is where it's at. Nothing fancy, just good.

Food is great but the service is horrible. I am a frequent delivery patron, and tonight I hit my boiling point with the service at Franzones. I should clarify, the delivery people are always extremely friendly, and trying their best. Unfortunately the management does not care about customers. Every time I called in the past I was put on hold and handled curtly. They think because they have a great product to sell that treating customers is not a priority...basically plenty of fish in the sea. Tonight I waited over 1 hour and 40 minutes for a delivery. I understand Sunday nights during football season can be busy. .....what I cannot accept is the fact that management took down my number incorrectly and added to this delay. When I called to complain about the temperature of the pizza I wasn't offered any compensation for the disservice (though I returned the ice cold pizza). I informed them that I would not be returning as a customer and they didn't care at all. I further informed them that I demanded a full refund except for that which I tipped as a delivery. They said they would but I will keep my eye on my bills. Bottom line......if you want great pizza, great delivery, but horrible attitude, and customer care from the restaurant, then take your chances.....You probably are fine doing business with these folks a couple of times, but when then screw up, they will not care. They do enough business and don't care about losing yours!

When the pizza is made well and not cooked too long or too little, it is really delicious. However, they seem to have a problem with consistency here. Sometimes it is perfect, but sometimes it is overdone and the cheese is rubbery. Sometimes it is undercooked and you get raw dough. Sometimes is is done just right and you get a great light, thin, crispy pizza slice with delicious sweet sauce and not too much cheese. Delivery takes forever. I have never had anything besides the pizza, so cannot comment on the other food options.

The sauce is horrible. We actually considered calling to ask them what happened to it before we came on here and saw the other reviews. The fact that the sauce is intentional is mind blowing. Not one of the four people who ate it could finish a slice. This is by farthe worst pizza I have ever eaten!

BUT WITH ONE IMPORTANT DIFFERENCE (cue: public service announcement). The best pizza I have ever had in my life!!!! My two friends took me here and swore its the best pizza ever!! And they were right!! Get the wheat crust becuse it is so delicious! just get the plain pizzza though, no toppings, becuase if you get toppings it ruins the presentation which is so beautiful! The swirl around the sauce into circles and it looks so pretty! The sauce has a nice, sweet flavor too it and boy is it delicious! The combination of cheese, sauce, and the wheat dough is to die for!! HIGHLY Reccoemend going here! Never knew it was there, so close to my parents house, and so happy they told me about it! You won't be dissapointed. (Be prepared though, it is a pizza joint, nothing fancy!)

I just finished posting a review for the best pizza in Philly which,in my opinion is Tacconellis. Now to be fair, this place has the WORST pizza I have ever had in my life. Everything about this pizza was horrible.! They are famous here for their pizza sauce- which consists of just tomato sauce and a ton of sugar ( GROSS !) no other seasons, no spices- why is this popular? seriously?????!!!! Anyone who has any sense of taste would find this inedible. I was ill after eating this "poor excuse for a" pizza. So was my companion. The pizza is just plain nasty. I would be ashamed to serve it to my worst enemy. Never never never again. I still have nightmares about this pizza. YUCK! If you are diabetic you certainly don't want to eat here.

OK just had this for the first time, mainly because of the high ratings here and all the amazing write ups about this. i guess u need to have a distinct taste for this type of pizza cause it is WAY TO SWEET!!! and the crust was actually pretty awful as well. A few things to dispute about other reviews of this place, 1) it is not even close to new york style pizza, no shot no way no how 2) equally not even close to mack and manco at the shore 3) its not really that good at all, big disappointment. we also got the wings and they tasted like wings u get at the supermarket, fry them and throw wing sauce on them...awful awful awful

Read reviews... Thought it'd be like lorenzos sweet, where sweetness is more from good tomatoes. Have to agree with another yelper~ the sauce literally tastes like pizza sauce with sugar dumped in it~ a lot... I love pizza n I love sauce.. But this is def somewhere I don't think I'll be trying again. On a better note, the pizza was thin, which I did like, but someone said that this is the closest thing around here to ny pizza??? Hell no!

Easily my favorite pizza. Their sauce is sweet, in fact very sweet, so it does have it's detractors. However they swirl the sauce on so that you have a perfect combo sauce, cheese, sauce all the way up the slice. I always order my pies well done as they seem to turn out much better that way.

Someone I know had the nerve to suggest this was the best pizza they had ever had. Being a New Yorker, I was skeptical, but we were in the mood for some really good pizza one Friday night so we hiked on over there. I'll just say, the best pizza ever - this is NOT. The sauce is too sweet. It was the first time in my life I ever had to add salt to a slice. The family "secret" recipe is strangely reminiscent of umm... ketchup. Anywho, the pizza could have been redeemed by the crust, but that was a FAIL too. It was hard and flavorless (also lacking in any salt) - it tastes a lot like Trader Joe's frozen pizza crust. Now frozen pizza is fine at home, but when you are out and about you want the fresh stuff. It was hard, like cardboard, and lacking in flavor. The best part of this adventure was the price - we paid about $30 (not including tip) to feed 6 people (including soda). That was pretty good and at least I didn't feel like I had been robbed. And the waitress was a real sweetheart. If I'm ever lost in Conshohocken and starving to death, I might head on over to this joint again - but I won't make a special trip, that's for sure.
