    Great wings.

The wings here are terrific, and the beer selection even better. But in my continuing search for the best buffalo chicken cheesesteak (BCC) in town, I tried ordering one from the Boathouse. While our beers and wings were spot on, my BCC was not only the smallest I've bought so far (out of a half dozen places or so around Conshy), but it also had neither blue cheese or buffalo sauce. So they heard the order wrong on the phone. The sandwich tasted good but it failed at being a BCC. No hard feelings. I'll still go here for my beer and wings, and Lenny's on 9th for by BCCs.

The Boathouse...a Conshohocken Classic! Just don't ask anyone to spell Conshohocken after the 3rd libation. Seriously, it has really nice charm, very good food and the staff makes the place an all around pleasure. I've had everything from Steak to wings here and it was all good.

Our friendly server Melanie helped us all night, working with several bartenders to get our party an "exciting" shot (Three Wise Men). Their peanut wings aside (I still think they're weird, but LOVE the other flavors), you still can't beat their "buy a pitcher, get an order of free wings" Wednesday special: obviously everyone else knows, since the place was packed, and I arrived late!

This is a pretty good place. The wings were surprisingly good. I'm a bit critical of the wings I eat and don't really like to settle for dry or bland wings, but Flanigan's were moist and had well-balanced flavor. Also, their burgers and fries are really good and their fish and chips entree is excellent. Some of the other things on the menu can be hit or miss. The only reason I subtracted a star is because the service can be shady depending on who you get and because they are never stocked as far as a lot of the beer on their menu. Whenever you order a craft beer off their menu, make sure you give the waiter a "back-up" beer because there's a 50/50 chance they won't have the beer you ordered.

The wings are what's up at this place! I have to say the wings are quite good, as was the beer and the other goodies we had. I would highly recommend this place to whomever is looking for a good chill time at a nice bar out. The one thing I would like to say is the Chipotle Lime wings were awful, please be sure to order at your own risk. I tried them out at the advice of the other yelpers and was highly disappointed. The regular hot wings were excellent as were the honey BBQ. Stick to the basics and enjoy!

Definitely my favorite happy hour spot in Conshy. They always have a wonderful selection of light AND craft beers. From 5-7, a good selection of their craft beers are only 3 dollars. It can get PACKED later in the week or for sporting events. Food is pretty good if you're in the mood for some bar food. Nachos always hit the spot, wings are best in Conshy and burgers are big. I almost always get (and share) nachos with whoever I coheres into coming with me! This bar is great to watch sports in as well. They get all the premium sports channels and will turn TVs to whatever games you wish. GREAT for Phillies games ... always a big sports fan crowd. This is my "home" bar. It's a bar you can go to all dressed up. It's a bar you can wear galoshes and a sweatshirt. I have been known to wear PJ pants and gym clothes too. Everyone is welcome here. Come and enjoy!

Reasons why you should go: A reasonably priced, conveniently located sports bar. There is usually lots of street parking, and there is also a garage and an open lot nearby (both free, but check the hours to ensure you won't be towed from the garage). They make some of the best wings I've ever had. Plenty of TVs with a plethora of sporting events to watch at any given time. They have a good beer selection, although the beer menu can be a bit deceiving - they don't always have everything that's on the menu, and a lot of the beers are served in the bottle, not on draft (also okay, as long as I know what I'm getting when I order). Love Tuesday Trivia night, it always makes for a good time. Reasons why the Boathouse can be irritating: It can get very crowded in the bar area, but you can always venture into the dining area (I recommend sticking to the bar if you can). In general, the food is average and unimpressive (with wings being the exception!). The bartenders can be difficult to wrangle, even when it's not super busy. Not sure if they aren't paying attention, or if they just don't care? The servers are decent, but some of the girls can be snooty - irritated if you take too long to order, making faces at your table from across the bar... All-in-all, this is a decent sports bar. Nothing super standout, but if I find myself in Conshy again, I'd probably go back for a beer and some wings. Make sure to order your wings extra crispy, it makes them so much tastier!

If you live out in the burbs, this is a pretty good spot to hang out, drink, and watch the game. But I want to especially highlight the food. It's very good here. Not "bar food". They've got lots of great stuff on the menu, but do check out their wings if you get a chance. They've also got these amazing cheese fries with this fancy cheese which will knock your fucking socks off. Delicious burgers too. Oh, and they've got these steak paninis there which will (if your socks are already gone) rip your pants off and go to town on you. The one downside to this place is that I've never really gotten a good vibe from any of the bartenders. They seem a little dickish. Especially this one really tall one with red hair. He's an arrogant ass.

I went here with a few friends from our soccer league. I would have to say that it has a great atmosphere and pretty good food. Overall, this place is great hangout place for friends in the area.

This is a frustrating bar to review. It has some great pluses, but the minuses are so much more. The unfriendly, unresponsive bartenders who don't seem to care if you ever come back. The food STINKS! Once i got sliders...easy enough to cook you would think...they were like rubber. the sliders were half the size of the bun, so it was thick bread and overcooked meat. Next time I got a "pulled pork" sandwich. sounds good...but it wasn't pulled pork...it was sliced pork which was ENTIRELY different. it was a decent sandwich, but it wasn't what was advertised. Okay, so trivia night was nice and there are a ton of tv's to watch games...but if the food is awful and the help sucks...what is the point of going. This place could be good...but it isn't...new management would help!!

Food is poor to fair. We have eaten there a few times, pre stamped out burgers way over done. Not fresh tasting at all. Salad was so so with bottle tasting dressing. Fish and chips was bland and soggy. Just blah pub fare. Pass this one up.

Still looking for a good after work bar to drink and socialize and I might have found a regular at "The Boathouse". I have been with the family on a Sunday for dinner and didn't think it would be such an after work spot but after going on a Wednesday...Definately a happy hours place. FREE WINGS!! with every pitcher on Wednesday, can't go wrong with that. A little crowded but par the course for any good happy hour. Mixed drinks weren't too pricey and the pitchers were down right cheap. Since I live in Conshy this might become the place of choice on Wednesdays.

This place serves the best wings in Conshy! I highly recommend the chipotle lime. Seems like a hot spot for locals - it's always busy when I go there. I guess "bar crawls" in Conshohocken consist of all but two bars. Seriously, not a lot of options in this city... That being said, if you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy a meal, this isn't it. Think: high quality bar food. If that's your thing, then you will enjoy this place. The bottle list is a mile long and they have a decent selection of draft beers as well. (Hey, any place that has Hoegaarden on draft gets at least 3 stars in my book...)

Came to Conshohocken, PA to take a test. After a day of traveling decided to get take out. This is not the place for take out. The spinach artichoke dip was cold, the chips were stale and cold as well. I also got a sandwich with fries, the fries were not hot and were soggy as if they have been out for a while. Pretty disappointed with the food. The service wasn't that great either. The staff didn't even greet me or talk to me...I had to do all the talking. This is pretty sad because I've worked in the restaurant business and we did not service our customers that way. Sad about the experience.

They have a pretty good beer selection, except that nothing was really out of the ordinary. They had 3 IPA's on tap, Stone, Dogfish Head, & another that wasn't even worth remembering the name. Tried the wings, because of the comments on here. I got Hot with the Chipotle LIme on the side. Hot is definitely not hot enough... pretty mild. The Chipotle Lime sauce is pretty good as a dipper, instead of blue cheese.

  • Minh C.

This place is great! Their beer selection is fantastic! On top of that it wasn't very loud, and is a very chill sports bar. The calamari wasn't too great. However the entrees were.

Came for "wing it wednesday" (10 free wings w/ a pitcher of beer) and had a good time here with friends. Got pretty packed in here as the night progressed! Great beer selections, both bottles and on tap. The food was pretty good, and I could see both the fish tank and the Phillies game from my seat :-D

D00d, this joint hits the bull's eye. Seriously, Wednesday nights are a good time. Pitchers and wings. One pitcher of whatever is on draft and a plate of wings. So many sauces to choose from. I was recommended the chipotle-lime and I will say this to you: do it. Fun decor, TVs all over the place for whatever game is on, upstairs tables, downstairs long bar in the front and tables and booths in the back. Quiet family restaurant off to the side. I'm not sure what the place is like on other nights, but it is definitely a low stress place to hang out with some friends, get drinks and some food, and really enjoy yourself. You can easily get to it by taking the R6 Norristown to "Conshohocken" and then walking up the hill to the restaurant. Enjoy!

  • Andy S.

Noone in montgomery county can compete with these wings. (Been said a million times) The wings have changed in size over the past 5 yrs...but although slightly smaller, the quality and dry rub they use is unreal. Still wish they would bring back the "top gun" wing sauce :) Bloody marys are usually above average. Beer selection is very extensive and impressive.

I was in Conshy for a night and wanted to go grab a good meal and some drinks afterwards. Flanigan's was the perfect place. We went to the restaurant portion first that was connected to the bar and it was good. The food was good, not great, but good and it satisfied my hunger. A good price and a good variety. What I learned with dinner, though, is that they had a draft-beer selection the size of Pennsylvania. It was extremely extensive and simply wonderful. The bar was great. It had a college feel (I was there on a Friday), but also contained a good mix of people so if you're a little older you don't feel out of place. It was also crowded at points, but never got to the point where it was uncomfortably crowded and most of the time, there was room to move. It was a perfect size, I'd say. It was a great bar, great atmosphere and just a good vibe. I really enjoyed myself and if I'm ever in the area again, I'll plan another nightly outing to the Boathouse. The reason it got four stars instead of five was based on the restaurant portion. However, heard the wings there are awesome, so I'd try those if I went again. The bar was 5 stars plus a couple!!

  • Adrienne H.

Really dislike the new wing prices and the fact the count of wings per order dropped. Used to be by 10's now it's by 6's. They also let you choose different sauces - I've been told no now the past two times. Way to ruin a Conshy classic. Not going there anymore, sorry.

If I could give this 3.5 stars I would. My friend and I went in for lunch last Saturday. The sign said to wait to be seated but no one was around so we walked into the restaurant area..a waitress finally saw us and said sit wherever. The place was DEAD. I'm not sure if this place is normally crowded or what but for 12:30 it seemed pretty eerie. We ordered a hummus platter to start with which was well to be honest really unappetizing looking. It was a HUGE bowl of red pepper hummus a few pita triangles and carrots and broccoli, very odd...at least for me to have carrots and broccoli with hummus?!? It just really had no taste either and to serve it with bland veggies--not too great. Shorlty after, our salads arrived. I had the chinese chicken salad and my friend got the BBQ chicken salad. My salad was really good but dripping with dressing. My friend seemed just OK with hers, she said the BBQ chicken was cold as in chilled which seemed a bit odd but who knows. We had 2 different waiters/waitresses throughout our meal(I guess since no one was in there) so I don't even know who got the tip. Overall it wasn't that bad but had the potential to be really good...maybe next time.

5 Stars for the company - we had an unofficial Yelp/Dave's work/friends meetup here and that part was fun. We were a large group - around 15-20 at various times, and we had a couple of tables in the back of th ground floor. I did not think our service was particularly good, but I guess that's what you get for showing up on Wednesday, when it's 10 wings free with a pitcher of beer. It was a mob scene - which was only exacerbated by our large party. I think our server, Teresa, did as well as can be expected. But it was difficult to get drinks. When Carrie showed up it took her quite a while to get just a diet coke - even a personal trip to the bar didn't yield anything, because they were busy there, too. The beer selection is good, though. They have Smithwick's on tap, which always makes me happy, as well as Sam Adams' seasonal and various microbrews. (I never make it past Smithwick's.) There are TVs everywhere, even though they're old 20" CRTs for the most part, you can still watch your game pretty easily no matter where you are. Just don't expect HD. The wings are just OK IMO. I am kinda picky about my wings I guess, but these just aren't to my liking. They are meaty, which is good. But I prefer mine wet, which these were not, and the hot wings aren't very hot. The blue cheese served with them isn't good - cheap and runny instead of thick and lumpy. BUT they were free, so I can't complain about that. I ordered the steak panini for dinner - and I had a huge lump in my belly for hours afterwards, unfortunately. If you are looking for greasy bar food - wings, nachos, fried cheese sticks - to accompany your delicious beer then Flanigan's will suffice. Free wings on Wednesday's might be the only way to get me to go back, just because who doesn't like something free? But otherwise....I'll stick to the Malvern location because it at least has an outdoor deck.

They have the best wings ever!!! Perfectly cooked every time - try the honey BBQ! I have also had chicken fingers and salads from here before which are all pretty good and well priced. We love going here for sports games since they have tons of T.V.'s or just to grab some good bar food and relax on the weekends.

Went here last night for the Wednesday night happy hour - free pitcher with wings...wait, or was it the other way around? Haha, that's what we all saw it as, at least. The wings were really yummy and the pitchers, large. I tried out their chicken nachos and wasn't that impressed. Their toppings were not spread out evenly (as the jalapenos were all chilling with each other on 1/2 the plate while the cubes of chicken were chilling on the other side not wanting anything to do with jalapenos). When I get nachos I want my toppings to look like they exploded all over the chips. Service for a big crowd was pretty good. Manager gave me change for $20 in a jiffy and the bartenders are all pretty attentive. I wish the sign outside was a little larger though, I kinda passed by it a couple of times before realizing that well..I had passed by it a couple of times. I'll probably be back if people want to meet up for a happy hour again, but not quite sure if I would go out of my way to make it down there.

  • Ryan W.

This place is not bad, I think I prefer the location out in Malvern better mostly because there is more space. Thats pretty much my only complaint, you get a lot of local softball teams and flag football teams and what not in here after their games and its a really small place.. you go from the Pub next door to this place and its just so tiny.... I always stop in here while in conshy as part of the Pub, Boathouse, Spamps tour and I'm usually in and out because its too packed for such a small place and its usually a sausage party! That said there are pretty good specials, the crowd is usually in good spirits, and there is a good selection of beers, the food is pretty good too!

Good for groups, which is what we were after an ultimate frisbee game out in Conchy. The wing night deal is what brought us in, which is an amazing deal- get a plate of wings with each pitcher ordered. Kind of a rip off when you realize that after a plate of wings and a whole pitcher of beer, split between several people, leaves ya pretty tipsy so you have to order extra food to sober up, but if you have a DD then I guess it's a non-issue. I have also had/tried the nachos (pretty standard) and the burgers (could be better.) Service could have been better, we waited around a while between pitchers and water ran dry. Overall average bar food experience, not bad for a local bar.

The Boathouse is the go to place for in Conshohocken for happy hour, sports, and a good crowd. Been going there ever since I first moved into town. Good drink specials, tons of beers on draft, and the best wings around. Would also suggest the Mahi sandwich on multi-grain, amazing. Special thanks to Lisa, Tim, and Pete for being great bartenders, keep it up.

Wing-it Wednesdays! As the other reviewers mentioned, Wednesdays are good nights to hit up the Boathouse...sesame wings are my fav...yum! I've gone there a few times recently to watch college hoops with friends and the staff is usually friendly enough to put the game on a tv closest to our table. They have a typical bar food menu, but I am a fan of their burgers. Weekend crowd can be hit or miss...probably a better crowd during the winter...and I've definitely seen a wide age range of people...the older crowd before 11pm, and the 21 year olds come out after.

It sucks to say that I have been here once and won't go back. I can't stand bad service and the waitress i had here was rude, barely checked on our table (we had about 10 of us), was annoyed with me because I was a vegetarian and wanted to get just a pitcher not the wings. Other friends of mine still go back but always agree with me about the service. Bars are about the experience, if I am not treated well, there are plenty of other places I can get the exact same beer, spend my money, and have a good time while being served by good people. Being a server you are the face of the bar and you're the Salesman. If you don't like your job, quit. Seriously.

A pleasant experience. Happened in on a Saturday night. It was jumping with a post college crowd at the bar. I got a table without wait. I had a flight of five draft beers that was generously pourerd and interesting. The mussels were all I ate, and they were excellent (it is pretty hard to spoil mussels). MaggieO gave excellent and even personal service despite being super busy.

Went out to dinner here with a few friends, and even though I wasn't sure about it from the outside, I'm really glad we ate there. We didn't indulge into the bar side of the Boathouse, but stayed on the restaurant side, opting for a bit of quiet so we could meander through our week with each other. They have a beer selection to appease the masses, and I believe they have full bar on the bar side, but as I stated, we didn't go over there, and everyone opted for beer or soda at the resturaunt, so I'm not too entirely sure. Our waitress was fun and attentive, but not so overbearing that you felt she was there all the time, which is nice. Food was really good, considering i was very unsure upon entering. Just goes to show, don't judge a book by it's cover, until you've at least read the authors notes :) I'd definatley go again!

Out of few bar/pubs in Conshohocken this is one of the good ones to hang out with friends. Good crowd specially on friday/saturday and on sports nite. On wednesday they have wing-at-wednesday; with every pitcher you get 10 wings free..my personal fav 'Chipotle Lime Wings' They do have lot of seating area some are in midst of crowded bar but if you dont want the noise they do have seperate seating sections where you can have nice good time with whoever the hell you are with.

My favorite bar in Delaware County ( or is it Montgomery County?). The wings are the best. Have only ordered them hot. Never too hot, but always just hot enough. Great beer selection. Changes seasonally. Good place to catch a game. Wednesday nights are absolutely insane with Wing Night. A free order of wings with every pitcher. Go figure. Bartenders are great. Never have to wait very long for a refill.

  • Chelsea S.

The third star is for the beer selection, though i had a hell of a time deciding on a beer. The waitress was cool, but nothing spectacular. This was a long time ago and I'm still sketchy on details, but it didn't leave me with any stellar impression. After dinner we swung over to the bar, which was packed and made ne feel uncomfortable. Oh well. I'd probably go again if invited without a problem, but I doubt I'd be the one picking that place.

Awesome little spot for lunch in Conshy... It can be noisy at times you business people wanting to hold meetings... Lots of beer, good looking women, and ample street parking

  • Carrie E.

Looking for lunch in this area? Go here. You won't be grossed out, I promise, unless numerous fish tanks and nautical maps just aren't your thing. "Happy hour," thought (note air quotes) are another story entirely...I felt like a zoo animal on display amongst the many popped collars and pitchers of beer flowing freely to match the free wing special. And can we just talk a second about the ADD factor? Yes, I'm a little wacky, but come on...does one place need so many GD televisions? I couldn't even hold a conversation because everywhere I turned there was some wacky sports game going on or news or girls with boobs hanging out. And yes, ladies, as if the digital paradise outside isn't enough for you, you also get the pleasure and the privilege of having a TV in the bathroom. Sometimes a girl just wants a beer and a little conversation...if you're that girl, then get your ass out of this place and go somewhere else STAT! I'd say the epileptic seizure factor of too much radio static coupled with the high sausage factor is enough to keep me out after 1:15 pm forever. But hey, Dave H....thanks for putting together an unofficial happy hour. It's always a joy to see you guys in different places, and my oh my, was this different for me!

I thought the menu change would be good however I was very wrong. I went for Quizzo on Tuesday night. My friend ordered clam chowder. It looked like porridge. He sent it back immediately. I got fried calamari. In reality it was just fried. All batter and fried stuff and no calamari. To top it off, if you want to stay for the end of quizzo, anticipate staying until 1AM, on a Tuesday. Good for drinks, bad for food now apparently (other than wings).

  • Kelly K.

Killer beer selection. Can get super-crowded at happy hour and a bit meat-markety, but it's a great place for a fish sandwich or a bowl of chowder, a few screens to watch a game, and a huge selection of local and import beers.

    (3)
  • Chris M.

place is ok, wings are really good and a great place to watch football on sundays or any big sporting events. salads are definitely "pub" type food and the sandwiches the same. but if ur into wathcing sports grabbing some beers and good bar food tis is definitely the best place to do so in consh. late night or wine sipping this place is not!

  • James G.

The Boathouse is always busy and has never disappointed us. They have a nice dining area on one side of the building where they serve good bar food (check out the nachos!). If you want to join the bar scene on the other side it is always busy, generally with the same people who are there every weekend! They have a good selection of beers, both bottled and on tap, and they rotate what they have on tap.

The service was very impressive. Me and my MMM (Main Man Muncher) were there last night. The entire order with apps, beverages, and entrees with special requests were given at once and the waitress didn't write it down. Everything came out perfectly as requested. We ordered wings as an app, based on the reviews here, I had to try them. Very tasty. Ultra crispy and nicely spiced. I ordered the fish and chips and MMM had ribs. The fish was handed breaded in panko breadcrumbs. The first few bites were good, but then the bites became watery and flavorless. I couldn't finish the fish, but the fries (made extra crispy at my request) were plentiful and yummy. The ribs were fall off the bone tender but needed more BBQ sauce. What I was most impressed about was that both entrees came with a salad. In my experience, most times fish and chips and ribs don't come with salad. Beer selection was overwhelmingly large, but in a good way.

I really liked this place, and I do love beer. We did not eat here, instead we got beers in the store below the bar, so this review is for that only. We were looking for beers to go, and had tried the place up the street except in only sold beer by the flat or crate or something...so we came here. At the front you show your ID. Then you shuffle through the crowded upper bar, and turn right down the stairs. What unfolds before your eyes is a beautiful thing. 4 walls packed with refrigerated and by the 4 or 6pack beers. All craft brew. Many local and big brewery options. Kristen from Yard Brewery was there and let us sample all her beers. I would highly recommend the RYE beer, it's an IPA with 7 different hope yet, surprisingly balanced hop flavor! We also liked the tavern porter-an old historic beer made for downtown Philadelphia establishment. We will be visiting this brewery tomorrow after the amazing experience with her and their beers. The worker Chris, was super nice, non pushy. He let us look at everything and only when we had questions and asked his opinion did he recommend some beers. Overall great. Most individual beers are 2.5-5dollars (limited edition) super affordable

The wings are life changing. I drive in from Philly to get them. Their beer selection is pretty dope too. Check em out if you're hungry and thirsty.

Great beer selection that's quite extensive and rotates and tons of TVs which make it great for catching any televised sporting event. Menu is typical bar food. I find it hit or miss with the food (which made me debate 2 or 3 stars) There's also a bottle shop in the lower level which makes taking beer to go an option. It does get very crowded on Sundays during Eagles games so if football is your pleasure plan ahead.

If you like adventure in your beer drinking, this is the place for you.. The Boathouse has as large and varied selection of draft and bottled beer as you'll find.. The wings here are excellent also and the bartenders are friendly.. They've also opened a bottle shop downstairs which I plan on going to soon..

Wing it Wednesday! A pitcher of beer gets you 10 free wings. It's like Christmas! Christmas filled with wet naps, large parties of men in their 20-somethings, wings, and pitchers of booze, and a huge fish tank. Yes, there's a decorative fish tank in the middle of the seating area. I digress... I've been here a few times to get wings and alone- the wings get 4 stars maybe even 5. However I had a salad here yesterday (don't judge just yet, I got wings too) and it was a large portion of disappointment. I ordered the tequila lime salad, which was described on the menu as "marinated shrimp, garden greens, black beans, pineapple salsa, cheddar cheese & tortilla confetti tossed in a citrus lime dressing and served with a pepper jack cheese quesadilla." The shrimp were smaller in size but they tasted fresh and were cold. "Garden greens" was code for iceberg. Who the heck still eats iceberg lettuce? Yuck. Pineapple salsa wasn't there. Maybe it was the bits of corn I saw? No idea. It wasn't pineapple. Luckily my wings saved the day. I also tried my friends sweet potato fries which were nicely cut, crinkle and had the perfect amount of seasoning. They were some of the best I've had. Don't order a salad at Flanigans. Unless you can't seem to shake that hankering for 3 lbs of iceberg lettuce. Then by all means... Oh wait- and the beer list is pretty solid. Beer list - 5 stars Wings- 4.5 stars Service-4 stars Salad-2 stars

I have only tried their beers, so this review is not a review of the food. This bar provides an excellent selection of beers from across the nation at reasonable prices, a great atmosphere, epic urinals in the men's room (they are kegs that are cut open), and friendly attentive waitstaff.

When I need a good people watching night this is where I like to go to start off with some food, and maybe finish off with a couple of extra drinks. Some pros: Nice bar with a great selection of beers. They have a beer shop downstair so you can even pop in to just pick up a pack. The food is good but the best is the clam chowder. It is New England version and they do a nice job with that. If your plan is the have a Conshy night than this is a good starting ground and ending point because they do have a limited late night menu. Can get pretty packed as the night goes on, but that is true about any typical American bar. Cons: really only a good spot to go if you can take the train and not drive. Parking isn't ideal in Conshy but if you can walk no problem. Although they do have a decent size menu I would only recommend this place if you're okay with the bar combination. Certainly not a place to have a nice quite meal together. Overall it is a good place to hang with your friends and get the night started with some wings and drinks, but not ideal if you want to not be jammed in a crowded place while you're trying to enjoy some grub.

Walk me in here blindfolded and when you yank it off this could be ANY BAR USA. Wait a minute; I see A Villanova banner on the wall. I must be near Philly. Wait a minute again; last year I was in Alaska and saw a Villanova banner so who the hell knows now days. The bar/restaurant design folks have their act together and they know a lot of folks like this style so they give it to us. * You got your slightly dim lighting. * Plenty of wood just slightly beat up. * A very long bar in this case topped with copper. * Zillions of TVs. * Sports and college memorabilia everywhere. * A line of cozy booths. * Lots of taps and lots of bottles. Over all a very decent selection of brews. * A pub grub menu that won't break the bank. Like I said, it's ANY BAR USA. So is there anything that makes this place different? Yes. * Unbelievably great wings. Six will set you back $6.99 and twelve for $11.99. Go for the dozen and try the Peanut Thai variety. Awesome! * Head downstairs to the Bottle Shop and peruse over 200 varieties of suds. If you like, mix and match your own six pack. Special note- Some folks either visit here or avoid visiting here because they think the name and logo denotes just a seafood restaurant. Yes there is seafood here but the menu has many choices for carnivores and other folks. I can see where a beer aficionado might go four stars here but I'm going for a solid three.

In the inevitable comparison between GREAT AMERICAN and BOAT HOUSE I'm gonna have to give it to the BOAT. Nautical themed dining is no doubt a disaster on paper- but the Boat House actually does a nice job keeping it aesthetically strong without being too tacky. Food is to die for. When it's not *free wings with pitcher* day (incredible), I always hit the chicken avocado wrap. The cheese fries.. Wtf insane. The girls I see running this place are very sweet to boot. Always accommodating when my squad rolls in. **posted on both accounts cause fuck it this place is sick**

I was here recently for dinner with two friends when the one who lives in Conshy suggested this is where we go. I have to say, I was not expecting to enjoy it at all. I had never been to Boathouse before and thought that if we wanted pub food, why not just go to Great American Pub. However, I have to say that it exceeded any expectations I had set. Its certainly nothing to write home about, but it is good food, reasonably priced, and a really large beer selection. I definitely would not have any issue returning for some beers and decent bar food!

The great: a very good spot to watch sports and hang out with friends. Wednesday buy a pitcher get 10 wings free deal is awesome. And they have some great wings (hot honey garlic is GREAT) The good: their happy hour has some very good deals too, $5 chicken quesadilla is a great deal and they make some great quesadilla and homemade salsa. They also prolly have the best daily drink specials comparing to the other nearby bars. The bad: sometimes it's too packed in here, and especially when some drunk "bros" are playing the arcade games it can get a little hectic. Overall: this is my spot when we are going out to watch games in conshy. I think it's by far the best combination of food, drinks, price, and crowd in the area.

I came here for lunch with a group of six of my coworkers. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, which came with a heaping side of fries, and the food was pretty good. The service, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. Our server was at our table a total of three times - once to get our drink orders, again to get our food orders, and again to give us our check. One of my lunchmates was without a water for the majority of his meal because it was forgotten, and our server never came over to check that we had gotten everything. The same went for the food - my buffalo chicken sandwich had the wrong sauce, but I never got an opportunity to let our server know, because she never came over! I usually go easy on my reviews for service if a place is busy, but we were one of two tables in the back room. On our way out, I saw our server at the wait station, texting. The bar area looked lively and it seems like a good place to watch a sporting event, but the service was a complete turn off. It's not likely that I'll return.

Cool atmosphere, cheap food. A place to go for comfort food and be a typical below average American. Good wine tho!!

They have a great selection of beer on draft and in bottle. There is also a bottle shop downstairs with an impressive selection as well. We ate the mild wing and nachos. Both were good, the wings were the star of the show. The wings are a good size with lots of meat. They seem bigger than those I am used to getting at other places.

I wasn't unfamiliar with the Boathouse, but admittedly haven't been in over 5 years since moving out of the area. When a friend suggested he wanted wings at 10:30pm, upon doing a Yelp search, I was reminded they are still here. My review is based on the beer, wings and service, as that's what was on order. The beer selection is legendary, and I was glad to see they're still on their game. I was stunned and happy to see Kronenbourg 1664 on the list, as few know it exists. The first night It was crowded with 20-somethings which was also expected, but the din was still tolerable. The second night was packed, and yet I still got a table quickly. The wings were superb - as I remember them, and a good deal at 12 for $11.00 or so. The first server was okay, but lacking a bit in personality. The second server, a young man with dark hair clearly demonstrated that he knew how to handle a full house, and although he was " in the weeds", his service was efficient and admirable. I tipped him well. I'm sure I'll be back. This place is a Conshohocken landmark - it's got history, great food, it's clean, quick, convenient, and a good bargain for the quality of food they serve. Treat yourself and go.

Was very pleasantly surprised by my visit to Flanigan's. For whatever reason, I thought it was going to be a bro-tactular (or perhaps pronounced brah-tacular) scene, but they had a really nice beer selection and some tasty food. We stopped in for a late lunch one day. Their beer selection is very good--I would guess that they had a couple of dozen taps, and there was a pretty extensive bottle selection. The latter likely comes from the bottle shop downstairs (more on this later). For food, we split an order of the thai peanut wings (fantastic) and the nachos (huge). The wings were sizable and nicely cooked. I highly recommend the thai peanut sauce. The Kilimanjaro of nachos they brought out for us was awe-inspiring. They tasted good, too. My only comment is that they runny cheese they use softens the chips and kills the texture. Would also like to see some jalapenos on there. Otherwise, very good. Even if you don't come here to eat and drink, I recommend visiting the bottle shop they have in the basement. It's a very nice selection of some big bottles, and (mostly) six packs that you can mix and match. I'm not crazy about the idea that bottles are individually priced (would prefer what lots of other places do, which is a fixed price for a mix-six), but otherwise it was a good experience. The staff here is very nice, both upstairs and down. Not sure what the scene here is like outside of lunch hours, but we enjoyed it during our visit.

I love me some boat house! Sure, it isn't the highest quality food. Maybe the televisions are a little loud and overwhelming. None of that matters, none of it. I enjoy the "we like beer and meat" attitude of the entire place. The servers are friendly and attentive enough, the beer list is extensive (especially the downstairs "lower deck") and they fill growlers. And their wings! Dayum, good chicken wings are important. They are crispy and saucy! On wednesdays you get 10 free wings with every pitcher of beer. All in all, its a good hang out with a beer and food list that lets you decide how much you want to spend. I think the brown haired tall bro is a better bartender then the girls i've had wait on me there. He seems to have all the hook ups. VIVA LA BOATHOUSE!

While I'm not a Conshohocken resident, I think if I lived in this area, I would be a regular to this bar. The Boathouse is a great neighborhood bar with plenty of seating for both small and large groups (there was an alumni association hanging out upstairs watching a game). The beer selection is really good--the beer menu is organized by type, so for a wheat beer lover like myself, I was quickly able to hone in on the beers I would most likely enjoy. We got some wings as an appetizer. I liked the variety of wings to choose from--more than just your typical mild, hot, bbq--they also had an Asian BBQ and Thai Peanut. The wings were meaty and could be ordered in the usual quantities of 6, 12, etc. The menu consists of typical pub grub like burgers, fish and chips, etc., but along with a few interesting daily specials. I enjoyed the prosciutto sandwich--for $10 you get a tremendously meaty sandwich with spinach, tomato, and onion and a side of fries. When I make prosciutto sandwiches at home, I only use a couple slices, but this thing was PACKED. We were there for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't very busy, so our server was able to stop by and frequently check in with us. Our food arrived quickly and came out at the right temperature. Plenty of tv screens along the bar and dining areas make this a good place to watch sporting events with friends or solo. Reasonably priced menu items with large portions make it an accessible regular hangout spot.

Huge huge beer selection and this place gets quite packed on Thursday. Service was good too for a really packed evening. I am not a wing fan but everyone at the table ordered the pitcher of beer with free wings that was on special and said they were great. I ordered the sliders and they were tasty as well. I know, I'm a freak that doesn't like chicken wings. As far as beer goes, I had the Lancaster strawberry wheat and it was really really good as well.

I just had lunch here and the service was good. The food however was just serviceable. I was with a group friends, so we able to try 6 different items on the menu. I had the crab-cake sandwich, which was nothing to really write home about. I felt that the food was bland and that seemed to be the general consensus at the table. My friend who had the burger thought it was a frozen patty. The one true shinning star were the wings. They were crisp on the outside and oh juicy on the inside. I personally loved all of the sauces that I tried. Another plus was their extensive beer (bottle) selection. They had a ginger beer (Crabbie's) that I have only seen at beer festivals. I believe the only reason I would return to the establishment would be for those de-li-cious wings.

Flanigan's is a decent choice for the main drag of Conshy's main street. A younger crowd and less stodgy place than Great American, it's perfect for the young professionals crowd looking to get loud, drink beer, eat wings, and watch the game. Nothing particularly stood out here when I went for an after work happy hour on a Thursday. This is definitely a popular game night location, as there was a Flyers game that night and people started packing in pretty early.

One star - and here's why. If you're gonna advertise that you're open until 2:00 A.M., then do it. Went there in the early 11 o'clock hour on a weeknight and even called to make sure they'd be open (even though the Yelp profile says until 2:00 A.M.), and their recording said, yep, until 2:00 A.M. I get there, and the door's locked. First time here, excited about what looks like a great beer list, and thought maybe there was a back entrance. Walked around the block - nope. Came back to the front door again, and there's another guy trying to get in - he was just out to smoke a cigarette, and got locked out. He finally got the attention of one of his buddies via text, and the door was opened - and I got in only because the smoker guy said I was with him. At that same time, a crowd of four approach looking to come in as well and they were turned away. I heard them mumble that Google said the place was open until 2:00 A.M. So in I go, and sidle up to the bar. After waiting about 5 minutes, a bartender comes down and tells me they'd already had last call. Of course, no one else looked like they were ready to leave, and it was maybe 11:30 P.M. They must be doing well because they weren't the least bit interested in my business, or the party of four that also wanted to come in. Too bad - it looked like it could've been a cool place (and I was looking forward to trying the two quads they supposedly had on tap), but I got rooked by both the advertising and the staff. WTF?

Lots of TV's, lot's of great beers on taps, and just an overall great place. Menu has great food and stop in on Wednesday's where you get free wings with an order of a pitcher of beer. Make sure to stop downstairs as well and check out the bottle shop.

Been here a bunch of times. Wings are amazing . Tried most if the flavors and thy all are good . If the bar is ful I like the tables next to the bar and tv's are everywhere. We had the same waitress twice in a row. I was impressed that she remembered the drinks we had the time before that was a nice feeling and she was real sweet. I think her name was summer? Maybe Selma? Sorry . Food is filling and I like trying the different beers . Everyone seems nice there. Nice spot to hang out.

Stopped in for the weekly Michigan game. Ordered wings and a beer from their amazingly extensive collection. Wings were perfect--perfect flavor (I got "Hot"), very meaty, crispy (but not overdone), and pretty decently priced. Service was good, and I always appreciate the number of TVs there have when I'm there to watch a game!

Due to the laws of physics (or something like that) restaurants can't be everything to everyone. You don't go to a chain restaurant if you want a gourmet feast- you go to a place downtown like Vetri for that. And you don't go to Vetri if you want some cheap grub at 3 am, you go to a cheesesteak shop or a 24-hour diner. So if you come to Boathouse, don't expect a gourmet meal. Don't expect a romantic spot. Don't expect dirt cheap prices. But do expect decent food. Do expect a pretty killer beer list. Do expect a post-collegiate atmosphere with a whole lotta testosterone (and a billion tvs playing a billion different sporting events/episodes of Sportscenter).

I've been to the Boathouse before but never for their wing / pitcher of beer special. I finally got a chance to stop in on wing night. I think the Boathouse is best for happy hour or for indulging in a large craft beer selection. They have a HUGE beer selection and that's the best part about this bar. I really was underwhelmed with their wings. I mean they were free with the pitcher and that's a great value but I wouldn't ever go there just for wings. As a few people said in their reviews don't go there expecting an above average meal. I tried a burger on this trip and it was pretty good but it wasn't anything to rave about.

  • Brad P.

I'll have to agree with Zach H. here. Focus on a certain part of the wall and you will feel you are in an uber-republican Chef Memento Room and not a pretty darn good restaurant. That being said, their chowder is just the thing to fill the void in your belly on a cold night and the hot honey garlic wings definitely do the trick. I liked this place.

If you enjoy large portion sizes, this is a must-go place for you. Had bacon-wrapped BBQ shrimp last time I was here, and they were tasty. Superb beer selection, as well, and a place that won't break the bank.

Solid wings, big and meaty. They offer several sauces. So you can get them hot or mild but also honey BBQ, Asian BBQ (which is what I had today), Garlic Parmesan, and a couple others. As long as a place has good meaty wings as a base, I'm a fan of flavor varieties. I don't like when a place has 10 different sauces but puny or otherwise deficient wings. I've been going to this place for wings for over 10 years and they've been pretty consistent in quality. They're not "out of this world, crazy good, gotta have em" but they're solid and they will satisfy your wing craving should one arise. The place has kind of a college happy hour feel to it (my iced tea arrived in a large plastic cup) which is fine as long as the happy hour patrons aren't there when I'm there. In summary, good wings, I'll be back.

Food - Not the best food around (even more so when Price is brought into consideration) But they make up for it with an good beer/draught selection, and their chicken wings! I think the Taste, fantastic variety and quality of their chicken wings alone has brought me back to this place. quite a number of times. as of yet, I've not found anything else on their menu remarkable or memorable. and Wednesdays - the special wing night (1 pitcher of beer with 10 free wings) is a great day for gatherings as well! has a medium long bar table (10+seating) with TV's as well - which also makes it ideal for sports fans - beer+wings. the decor is nice - and it really is a loud place made for gatherings for groups of people.

This place has a lot going for it, but needs some help in food prep. I got the fish&chips, which was HUGE - unfortunately, the fish was oil soaked and not quite done enough. I suspect the fryer was not up to temperature yet, and the food rushed out anyway. Really expected better for the price, and fish&chips should be a beer place staple! The saving grace of the meal was the fries, I could have just had those with another side and been satisfied.

I work next door and live in Conshohocken, so go figure the boathouse is a regular go-to spot of mine. I've eaten in and taken out. I usually stick with salads, apps and wings (basic bar food seeing as it's much more bar than restaurant) The wings are phenomenal. Juicy a delicious. Always perfectly cooked and the flavor options are awesome! (I love variety) Salads are not always consistent in size every time but still great nonetheless. If you're a wing lover, try the buffalo chicken salad with fried chicken smothered in your flavor choice of wing sauce (I live for sweet suicide!) topped with big pieces of bacon and blue cheese crumbles and dressing! The calamari is awesome and the dipping sauce is one of the best I've had! The bartenders are friendly, even though the bar is regularly overcrowded and the management is super nice! They have a great beer selection for takeout (although it's a bit pricey) and an ever-changing, very large selection of draughts.

I gave my 5yo a choice of any of the restaurants on the block. "Fish," she said, so in we went, although I wasn't expecting much. And there is nothing remarkable about the Boathouse and no reason to recommend it except that the service was good, the inside was attractive, the food was well-executed, and the bill was reasonable. Ms. 5 ordered the tilapia po'boy, which was enormous, more than an adult could eat. But Ms. 5 ate half of it. It was really good! The fish was beautiful, tender and soft inside, and the batter was golden brown. I got an excellent cheeseburger. It was medium rare on the inside as I ordered, and just a little bit charred on the outside. The fries were good, not at all soggy. We were initially worried because there were very loud football fans around the bar when we went in. But there is a next-door room with an aquarium, and we couldn't even hear the bar. Total price for sandwich, hamburger, juice and soda was around $22.

Used to go here often with coworkers many years ago... Never really had a problem with it until the day I found a crumpled up receipt in my salad! If I recall correctly, I did get my lunch free that day and since it was just paper, it didn't totally ruin my appetite! Anyway, it's been a long time so I would give it a try again sometime. I guess the only real reason we stopped going is because most of the people I used to go out to lunch with all the time don't work with me anymore:(

Went there on a Sunday afternoon, with a business associate, from out of state, staying at the nearby Marriott. He wanted seafood, which was fine with me. Wasn't impressed by any of the 4 pages, of Yelp reviews, for other Conshy establishments. So decided on the Boathouse. Boy was I happy! The bar area was crowded. But there was no problem navigating to the back restaurant area. We were seated right away. We had a young college age server named Nick, who took great care of us the entire 2 hours we were there. He keep smiling, the whole time, even though I constantly busted him about his red Phillies T-shirt. I'm from North Jersey and I'm a Mets fan, sorry to say. He kept teasing me back with a big smile and was attentive throughout our 2 hour stay. The overall noise level was high. But, it was a comfortable high. The 3 people at our table had no problem carrying on a conversation. The place made you feel very much at home and quite comfortable. The food was quite good. We weren't looking for something hoitsey toitsie! If people are looking for that they shouldn't be in a place like this! We ordered the BBQ shrimp and calamari as apps. Both very very tasty. Two of us had the fish and chips, and the other has the buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were great. Their were 5 pieces of crisply fried fish. on top of fries and chips. A really big portion that neither of us finished. And were no slouches in the eating department. The third person gobbled down his buffalo chicken sandwich in a flash. All in all, I gave The Boathouse 5 stars, because it provided a relaxed, comfortable, friendly atmosphere, to negotiate business and enjoy a good meal. The food isn't the Ritz. But it's far better than most "sports bar" cuisine. I wouldn't be afraid to take my super critical ex to this place. She'd find something to bitch about, but I guarantee that, she would eat every morsel on her plate! Considering the food and atmosphere, the prices are very moderate!

I keep wanting to like the Boathouse, and it keeps wanting not to be liked. Located right on Fayette St. in Conshy, the BH scores good marks for decor and draft beer selection. However, the drafts I've ordered here just didn't seem fresh. Yeah I'm picky when it comes to beer, but my palate just didn't care for what was on tap. The chicken cheesesteak was run of the mill...nothing special. Wings were pretty good but not epic by any stretch. I think the BH is probably a good stop for happy hour, but for lunch there are some much better options in Conshy.

This is an update to my first review. I am happy to say that after receiving an apology and being invited to come back, we did. Even brought our toddler with us. He was fascinated by all of the fish, loved the tank but thought the sharks were a little too real looking to sit next to. Thankfully the staff changed our seats and he was happy to gaze from a safe distance. The wings are amazing, finger-licking good to be exact. We ordered our wings with the sauce on the side so that we could try several sauces. After finishing one order, we opted to take another order to go. Another stellar choice here is the fish and chips- Oh my yummy goodness! You cannot go wrong with these crispy crunchy delights. The only disappointment was the crab cakes- I'm not sure if it was a bad day for them or what, but mine lacked seasoning and looked like it needed to cook a little longer. The service was good and the staff worked well together to attend to patrons. I'm looking forward to bringing my father in for wings when he comes to town.

One of my favorite places to go in conshohocken I basically go every other Wednesday. On Wednesdays they have a special where if you buy a pitcher of beer or soda you get 10 free wings. The wings are not wimpy! They have a good amount of meat and flavor on them. My favorite sauces are the hot honey garlic and garlic parmesean Their fries are good but couple months ago changed their fries from thick to skinny ones. It's like good but not as amazing as before. Which is why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 Their crab dip is so good but so bad for you. But worth it haha. Their nachos are huge but I'm always a little dissapointed that most of the "fillers" are only on the top so near the end you might be stuck with just chips.

Good spot to grab beers with friends during the week. Conveniently located close to the Conshy train station and generally easy to grab a seat at the bar. I've been known to miss a train or two by getting sucked in at the Boathouse, if we are being honest with one another. Extensive draft beer selection with all the general favorites.

I live in Chadds Ford now so this place is a bit of a hike. I love the wings so much that my wife's Valentine's Day gift to me this past year was to drive out here and pick up an order of 50 wings for me. Best wings I've had anywhere.

Beer selection always provided me with something that I was excited to drink during the course of my stay. I go straight for their burgers, which are sinful. This place can be a little loud - there is a sports bar of sorts attached to the dining area. This is the kind of place which I can easily deduce to be a beer & burger joint. I wouldn't take a chance ordering much apart from the medium-cooked burger with blue cheese and bacon - I love a good burger, and this "boathouse" delivers a juicy one.

After raving about Baggattaway's Philly wings to our local host, she claimed Boathouse's wings were better. Not one to turn down a chance to compare wings, I was giddy when we walked in. There was a good amount of people for the dinner hours. Ordered a variety of flavored wings. Unfortunately, my wing-eating-finger-licking bf and I were not impressed. We liked the variety though. Decent and interesting beer selections. Looks like a popular place for games and relaxing.

WINGS!!! Yeah that pretty much sums it up! The wings here are awesome and the beer specials are great! The one night if you bought a pitcher you got nachos for free! I've heard they also have buy a pitcher and get wings too! The other food is pretty good too. It's better and more creative than your typical bar fare. I also have to say that the servers have always been really nice and accommodating, even going out of their way for me. I don't really understand all of the low ratings. I think this place is far better than PJ's or anything else in its category around the area. My advice is if you are looking for an upscale 5 star place, don't go here but if you want a good place to hang out, watch the game, eat some wings and drink beer this is your place.

What a terrible night for the Boathouse. It is Superbowl sunday, we placed our wing order at 1:00PM for a 6:00PM pickup. We arrived a couple of minutes before 6:00PM to pickup. There were people waiting everywhere, and the restaurant was behind. They were not willing to give an estimate of how long the wait would be and most of the staff was very rude. We ended up getting our order at 7:15PM, well after the game started. Will never order pickup again!!!

I came here for the University of Michigan game because the bar hosts one of the alumni association local groups to watch the games together. The bar and the manager were super accomodating, they had a whole area to watch the game and it was the one game being broadcast over the speakers so you could even hear it outside. The food itself was pretty good. I got the buffalo chicken salad which was kind of overdressed and the chicken was a little tasteless but it was pretty typical bar food. We also got asian bbq wings to start which were AMAZING. My cousin, who lives in the area, and frequents the bar, says they are known for their wings. My husband's philly cheesesteak sandwich was nothing to write home about. The service was also excellent, we had a waitress that was very attentive to us and to the whole football viewing party. She didn't write anything down when she took our order, which always makes me a little nervous, but she got it almost 99% correct which is pretty impressive, I know I couldn't do it! Overall, I would definitely go again, especially to try the different sauces for the wings!

I've been to the Boathouse locations in Conshy & Wayne and have been thoroughly impressed by both. The bar area is pretty large here but the dining/seating is a bit tough especially on a crowded night. This is a fantastic place just to kick back and hang with friends and throw back a couple of beers. I gotta say the fries & wings are quite delicious. As for the wings, I've had the honey bbq and the atomic flavors. The honey bbq was awesome but the atomic wasn't all that spicy or perhaps I've just eaten way too many spicy things in my life and have killed all my buds. Who knows! Oh and Wing It Wednesdays is where it's at! Order a pitcher of beer and get 10 wings. I don't know about you but beer and wings, who could ask for more?!

Small bar, very stuffy in there and way to loud. Food is good, very good wings, decor ok, prices ok. Late night bar scene is packed like sardines, very loud and cramped.

Mitt Romney wants you to eat here. At least judging by all the Republican photos on the wall he would be happy if you did. Restaurants are people, too, I think he'd tell you. Your unwitting donation to propel Rick Santorum's gay-marriage-is-dog-marriage fight gets you some really, really good wings. Crispy skin and tender meat with a full complement of standard and creative flavors. Sauces like Asian BBQ, hot honey garlic, and sweet suicide are worth trying; I'd stay away from chipotle lime. The rest of the menu isn't noteworthy. If you're here, you're here for wings. Don't over think it. It's a sports bar's sports bar and if you're spending over $15 for an entree you're doing it wrong. The beer list is strong with bottles from far flung places and is enough to keep your beer snob friend interested for an evening. The draught list isn't quite as capable, with a few local exceptions, and I suspect that's a product of the Boathouse knowing their customer: always suburban, often collegiate, rarely daring. Which kind of sounds like a Young Republicans meeting.

Beer was good. Food was not. I hadn't been to the Boathouse in a long time and recall the food being much better. When we've been there for lunch in the past, the place was ALWAYS packed. Not on this day. There were maybe 10 customers. I immediately thought, "how times gave changed." I asked why so slow, and the barmaid said it's too hot for people to come out for lunch. Huh!? You'd think cool air conditioning and good food would bring people into the restaurant. Other places on the street looked busy. This time, the crab cakes were liquidy and not the solid crab meaty cakes I remember. Fries were ok, but a bit over seasoned. Only saving grace was that the Blue Moon on tap was cold and delicious. Definitely not the place it once was. Probably won't be visiting Flanigan's Boathouse again.

Used to come here a lot for Tuesday night quizzo. Would usually order the crab and spinach dip with bread which is a good appetizer and then get the cheeseburger sliders which are really good (it's the secret sauce). Decent beer selection, but again the only reason why they didn't get 4 stars is because they need to expand the bar area a little more. Too small a space and it gets really crowded.

I forgot how good the food is here. Used to go there nights with friends as a young-un, then just drifted away, except for a random beer now and then. But circumstance landed me and a nitpicky relative in the Boathouse for lunch this week, and I'm glad we went. The Boathouse looks like a bar with--oh yeah--a few tables in the back for meals, but don't be fooled by its appearance. Once you enter the dining area, you realize that someone has taken a little care to design the place as a cozy, welcoming spot for a good meal. (There's a nice skylight.) I had the summer chicken salad, which was a spring mix salad with pecans, sundried tomatoes, feta, and a fair-sized serving of excellent grilled chicken on top. Top-notch meal-sized salad. My companion had coffee and a tossed salad (both of which she said were far above average) and the cheeseburger, which she said was very good but slightly dry. (That said, she did order it well-done and refused out of principle to put ketchup or mustard on it.) They had a good-looking dessert menu (Reese's peanut butter pie, key lime pie, a mashed-up hot fudge something or other), but we decided to pass on it if we wanted to fit into the car again. We'll be back!

Okay even though I am a religious Yelp User this is actually my first review. I have enjoyed alot of places over the years but I have never been more compelled to write a review. So usually on a Tuesday night PJ's is my first choice for wings but my friends suggested we go to Boathouse. Since I have never heard of it, I decided to Yelp and was skeptical to go because it has a 3.5 star rating. LET ME TELL YOU NOW PEOPLE!! DONT BE FOOLED!!! THIS PLACE DESERVES 5 Stars for its wings and clam chowder OH sweet lord those hot and honey garlic sauce wings will change your life Thank you for your time

I used to go drinking here when I lived in Philly so for the bar experience it probably is 3 or 4 stars but we had an abysmal experience eating here last month. The waitress was absolutely awful from the first minute, detached and not very knowledgeable even though we were here during down time, like 2:30 pm on a Friday. She didn't even know what a Black and Tan was, which in Yuengling country is amazing to me. My girlfriend ordered a prime rib sandwich which came out completely raw. After asking to send it back the waitress didn't apologize but rather said "it's cooked that way." NOT raw. Sending it back seemed like they just shoved the entire plate in the microwave and brought it back as the side salad was also hot when it was returned. The food was horrendous and the service worse. Really I would give this a one star experience but I will balance it out with my good drinking experiences here...stick with this place as a bar, not the food...and the waitress had no business waiting tables, she couldn't have cared less about providing good service and was not the least bit apologetic about the sandwich not being cooked.
