I'm pretty excited that I didn't listen to myself and decided to make a 5th trip to get some brisket. It was excellent to say the least! Working in Nashville for the last 10 months and visiting Memphis a few times makes it very hard to even try bbq here in the valley but this place does it right! Staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu...cannot wait to go back and try the ribs!

So, journeying once again, my stalwart companion and I are looking for lunch in Charleroi. The nature of Charleroi suggests it is hiding some great local eateries, so first up is Fourth Street BBQ. The frontage and decor does its best to impress. We order, eager to ease our famishment with food and libations. There is a decent selection of drinks, a walboarx menu for specials, but for me, the measure of a BBQ joint is its brisket. I order up with the brown sugar sauce ( of a selection of 6) and an ice cold coke to wash it down in this sweltering hot day. My partner gets the pulled chicken, with the memphis sauce. And just like that it's order up! The food comes out fast. I look down, though, and immediately notice the lack of smoke ring. Glancing at my coworkers table, I see pulled... pork. At least he enjoyed it, he said it was tasty and he didn't mind. The sauces were quite good, which is huge to a BBQ business. Unfortunately for me, the brisket was dry and lacked flavor. This was quite a let down, as all the other elements were above average. The sauce was sweet with a nice little tang, and I had plenty for my very reasonably priced serving, I only wish the brisket had lived up to the billing.

I had the brisket, pork belly, fries, and slaw. All good, but IMO brisket just OK, not full of flavor and doesn't fall apart the way a well cooked brisket should. The pork belly was great. The fresh cut fries a little on the greasy side. Slaw good. I wasn't a fan of any of the sauces...Memphis and mustard sauce OK. Will go back to try ribs and pulled pork...if that doesn't work for me I'll still go back for the pork belly.

Not sure why it took us so long to stop in but we finally got to. This place has been recently renovated and it looks amazing! Great decor and awesome upstairs bar. Good was solid! Got the brisket, pulled pork, and chicken with 3 different sauces on the side and everything was good. Wife got thee chicken salad and she gave it 2 this up. Solid beer selection as well..any place that has Fatheads Bumbleberry is alright with me!

I read the other reviews and had high expectations for this place. I thought the good was just ok. I tried 3 sauces and didn't really care for any of them. I tried the hot, which is spicy, the sweet and mild, which kind of tasted burnt, and the Memphis. This was the best out of all 3 but was pretty thick. The manager or owner checked on us a few times and seemed pretty nice. The place looks like it would be fun to sit on their porch in front and have a few cocktails.

Updated review. This place is now open. The barbecue here is pretty damn good and is the only place worth visiting in Charleroi. I had the 4th street sandwich and can say it was damm good. Worth a visit.

Some of the best food in the area. Trumps all of the other places around here hands down. A little bit more expensive but well worth it. I just left and am ready to go into a food coma for a few hours.

Four friends and I had lunch at this place today. I am not from the area, but my friends all are relatively local and they heard about this place from another friend's recommendation. I can easily see myself making the trip back again. The place was nice and clean. The food was very delicious. Between the five of us, we had almost a sampling of everything from the menu. I ordered the brisket sandwich and coleslaw. I regretted not getting any corn bread, though. From what everyone else said, it was delicious. I particularly liked the dumb-waiter for delivering food upstairs. I don't know why. I guess it's not something you see often. If you like BBQ, give this place a try.

Great atmosphere and food! Went here with some friends and tried out their sandwiches (Pulled chicken 7.99, Pulled Pork 7.99) and my other friend had there cubed pork belly 6.99 and loved it. I would recommend this fantastic home style BBQ to anyone!

While visiting home for Thanksgiving, we decided to try the new BBQ restaurant in Charleroi. It's easy to find (right across from the police station), and has a parking lot right next to it so it's really convenient. You can walk right in and order at the window or go upstairs for waitered service. We decided to head up and were pleasantly surprised. There are big TV's everywhere and tables tagged with famous Pittsburgh sports players' numbers. (We sat at the Jack Lambert/Kris Letang table, next to the Geno table. The Sid table was already taken.) We all agreed this would be a great place to watch a game. They have 4 BBQ sauces to choose from, ranging from sweet to spicy. I had the beef brisket, which was delicious and really tender, with the Memphis BBQ sauce. Holy hell it was good. Others got the pork chop, a half rack of ribs (biggest half rack any of us had ever seen) and the half chicken. We also got a large side of baked beans, mac and cheese and cole slaw, and some corn bread. The sides were tasty. The baked beans were not BBQ-flavored - they had big pieces of ham through it reminding us more of homemade bean and hamhock soup. The only way it could have been better is if they had beer on the menu but I don't know if they have a liquor license. Portions are huge. Service was great. Atmosphere is nice (loved the hometown artwork). I can't recommend this place enough. Give it a try. We will definitely be back.

This is one of the best BBQ places in the area. The brisket seems to be the most popular (for good reason) but I have enjoyed pretty much everything on the menu. The sauces are wonderful and everyone should be able to find at least one they really like (or if you're like me you will enjoy most of them) and the sides, especially the corn bread, are delicious. The setting is awesome with the famous sports numbers adorning the tables. Obviously this isn't a spot to find healthy eating but for BBQ it is a great place.
