A s jewel of a neighborhood restaurant - run by a family of Sicilian immigrant well off the beaten path outside Chambersburg. A wide choice of pastas - ravioli, tortellini, linguine, and the usual noodles are offered with a choice of sauces under $12. The menu includes a fair range of seafood, veal, and chicken dishes. This is a neighborhood restaurant that could thrive in New York. No ambiance - go for the food.

This is my favorite restaurant in the area! The Italian owners are a wonderful family. Food is authentic, fresh, large portions- perfect. Menu has abundant options and prices are fair. The tira misu is so good that a friend of mine ordered a whole one for his wife's birthday, which the owners graciously accommodated. The pasta specials are always incredible and my personal favorite is the prima vera. The lemon sorbet for dessert is imported from Italy and served in a lemon shell- very tasty. Service and food never disappoint here.

Great Italian. I go there often. One thing I love about it is they don't skimp on the meat. The down side is they don't serve alcohol, but you can BYOB.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. Parking is not a problem, which is a plus. The restaurant has charming, European inspired decor and appeared to be very clean. We were directed to our table very quickly and our server waited on us within minutes of us sitting down. So far so good! I ordered the tuna salad, my daughter ordered an angel hair pasta dish and my husband had veal. All of our dishes came out of kitchen in a reasonable amount of time. The servings were very generous and the food was very good!!! The waitress brought us warm rolls which were crunchy and airy. I would definitely recommend this lovely establishment.

April 14th. I stopped by for lunch. Kristin served a delicious Cream of Asparagus Soup. I then had the tasty, hot veggie sub with provolone cheese. Lemonade was also good. Cost $10.50; you can't beat the price. The Italian Village Casual Restaurant consistently serves quality food. Love this place and the prompt service.

Great place, great people great food! Called ahead to check if they had steamed clams, a favorite of the Mrs and myself they said Yes. Got there not on the menu, owner came over and asked how we wanted them and off he went. We were served a LARGE PORTION of excellently prepared steamed baby clams. The Bread little loaves baked onsite and served warm. Menu selections are very diverse allowing mix and match pastas with sauces. Portions are large and you won't leave hungry. The desert menu is not your normal presentation very different and interesting deserts are offered. The menu background contains photos of Brothers, In-Laws and extended family members of the owner. Super 5 course specials every Tuesday night.A great place you have to go to to enjoy! P.S. Watched a young man kneel and propose to his bride to be.

We loved the lunch-time meal that we had recently! I had a stromboli and my husband had a sandwich. We loved the quality, and especially enjoyed the crust. My husband is from Argentina and is very particular about Italian breads and crusts, and this really impressed him. The service was quick, our server was attentive, and we could see that this place gets a lot of business.

I enjoy patronizing this family owned business, it's nice to go inside hear Italian being spoken, the waitresses are friendly, I enjoy the pizza and cheesesteak best

One of the best casual Italian restaurants we have found in the area! If this was not 20+ miles from our house we would be eating here every week. Everything we have had here has been very good. Now if they only had a liquor license - but alas this is backward Franklin County! So you must bring your own - but I do not think they have a corkage charge.

Small mom & pop. Fresh bread for sub. Descent taste for quick lunch. Service sucked. I think I had a new server. He never brought me my check. After a while the owner noticed I was just sitting there and brought it over. Came in same time as another person. We had different servers. We finished at the se time and he left 10 min before me.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
