Says open. It's closed. Hungry. From out of town and took a risk after reading the other reviews. Gamble didn't pay off.

In my previous review, I said the place was closed unexpectedly. Well guess what? It happened again. Last Friday we came here and it was closed smack dab in the middle of their "open" hours...on a Friday night. No explantation. How on earth am I supposed to give you a good review if I can't rely on your business hours? :( ugh very disappointed!

My wife and I had the lunch buffet, which was your typical Indian restaurant lunch buffet. We're staying in Waynesboro, so Bombay Dining seems like a Mecca of cultural extravagance. One note: we each only ate one plate of food, not being terribly hungry. I had to convince our server that we didn't hate the food. He suggested that we'd eaten too fast, perhaps, that maybe we'd gotten the wrong things. I don't think I ever got through to him that we were happy with the meal.

I had such high hopes for this place, being told by many friends that it was awesome. First off, the waiter was very polite and attentive. An older couple came in for the buffet after the time which they close it up and offer menu items only. He allowed them to still get the buffet and made sure there was still fresh food. Crazy. We got veggie samosas for our appetizer, which were served with three different delicious sauces. I love biryani so I had to get the goat biryani as my entree. It was a huge mound of food! So much for your money! It tasted delicious, but they leave the bones in, and you have to be careful as there are smaller shards of bone throughout the dish. Kind of annoying but I am not very knowledgeable as to whether that is normal or not. My boyfriend chose the goat korma and was very pleased. Good service, good food, but watch out for bones!

The prices are decent and I have been here at least 8 times and have not had a bad dish yet. The staff is polite. I have questioned the music choice. a couple of times but that was early in the afternoon so it is understandable.

Is this place closed? Even though it says open? Called for over an hour... No answer. Absolutely atrocious.

I'm so lucky to have a boyfriend who knows about secret hole-in-the-way kind of places such as this! If you blink you'll pass it without a second thought, since it's situated in a small strip mall. Rob and I decided to do date night this past Thursday here and it was my first time trying Indian food. I will admit I was a little skeptical going in and reading the menu trying to figure out how to pronounce everything. Regardless, I am so happy that Rob chose this place for our date. The inside to the establishment is rather simple but it compliments the environment. We were quickly and happily seated into a booth by the window and given menus. The hostess/waitress was very pleasant and more than will to help us with any questions or concerns we may have had. I will say I was shocked that there was no one else dining there when we arrived, considering it gets such positive reviews. Nonetheless our service was good. The waitress was attentive but not annoying or bothersome. We started with an appetizer, pakoras, which are amazing! Then Rob got the Chicken Tikka Masala and I got Chicken Vindaloo. Both were fantastic! I don't know why this place isn't busier than it is. The food is incredible! I will definitely be returning here in the future.

I have eaten Indian food in various countries around the world. We also cooked it at home on occasion when I was growing up. I have had some really good Indian food and a big fan of it. For this area I would give Bombay Dining a generous 4 stars. The food is good, I think it's getting better too. I would like to see the place improve the interior decor so it's more of an authentic experience. On occasion it would be cool for the owners to treat the patrons to an evening with a sitar player. I think their lunch buffet is a great way to introduce yourself to Indian food! The buffet food is very mild for traditional indian cuisine but there are a few options to spice up your dish.

Bombay is one of my two favorite restaurants in Chambersburg, other being Cafe d'Italia. The chicken tikki makhani and tikki masala are so creamy, tender and full of flavor. Even the most spicy dishes are so well balanced that you still taste individual unique flavors. Tonight I tried the lamb biryani and again was so impressed. I love being surprised by the culinary experience that each visit promises. If your looking for a great meal, you will not be disappointed here.

An associate and I stumbled upon Bombay Dining while on business. We were the only ones in the restaurant upon arrival ... but it quickly filled with other diners by 6 or 6:30 p.m. We received a very warm welcome by a gentleman who appeared to be the owner/manager. My associate is vegetarian, and I am vegan. Our dietary needs were listened to and accommodated. The Pakora as an appetizer offered tender bites of veggie batter served with two dipping sauces. While the mint chutney was spicy, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My dish, the dal made vegan (with no butter/ghee) was ordered "spicy hot." It delicious, with flavors I would describe as hot curry. Our entrees and sides of rice were served in cute copper bowls ... and instrumental Indian music in the background set a pleasant tone. I would recommend Bombay Dining as a hidden gem in Chambersburg!

This isn't the best Indian food I've ever eaten, but it is far better than I was expecting in Chambersburg. We ususally always get it as carry-out on the way home so I don't know much about the wait staff. As for the inside of the place, I don't get why people want Indian themed decor. I don't need giant paintings of Lakshmi or a golden Hanuman to enjoy a meal. I personally like that they didn't go overboard with the "Indian" decor. That being said, I've had about a dozen different dishes here and everything has been very tasty and they will put the spices to it if you ask them.

The service was slow but the server himself was nice. My issue came with the portion sizes, very small. Also, the spice level was near 0. The food over all didn't taste bad but there was no spice even after asking for it to be hot. I will be in town again for business next week and may give it another shot just to make sure it wasn't an off day for the cook.

The food was delicious! There were 14 in our party and everyone loved their choice from the menu. I had the buttered chicken, and it was very good. The service was great, very accommodating for our large group! I will definitely be back.

The beef vindaloo was spicy, rich and loads of sauce. The pakoras were fluffy and perfect. The nann was buttery and soft. Good flavors and don't forget to get extra naan to get all the sauce!
