Just an update as the North Hanover Grille is consistently excellent! Great people, incredible service, and great food!

Cool place with solid food and a good selection of beers. Their carry out six packs are also a nice option. Their burgers and wings are one of the best in town...wing night allows you to get them cheap as well. The rest of the menu is usually really good. Some items can be a little greasy but nothing more than expected. Peanuts on the table are another benefit.

Had a great dinner here with my wife and sister although we only had soup sanwhiches and fries the food was very good and more impotantly came out hot. Our waitress really was a hustler and met all our desires. Was quick to refil drinks and really was pleasant. You really dont find that often in a bar restaurant atmosphere. The place is located on North Hanover St in Carlisle and it has aRustic old time bar atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. Food was delicious service was great and most important the Beer was really cold. We recommend a stop.

Shane O couldn't have described this place any better...Thanks Shane O! When you walk in it doesn't seem like more than a budweiser/yeungling beer establishment with some cheap bar eats, but it's soo much more worth it! Pretty dark inside the bar and dining area, with decor that is a bit outdated. But you are not going here to dress to impress and take photos of the inside: you are here to have a great selection of beers from corsendonk to shock top to magic hat to rogue at very affordable prices AND fantastic wings/burgers/black angus patty melt/crab cake sandwich/hand cut fries:all of which were fantastic! Shock Top on tap was a nice change of pace and served very cold in tall beer glass. We had the hot garlic wings (tangy/mildly hot red sauces wings that were doused with fresh minced garlic over the top of them: if you love garlic you will love these) which I alone could have eaten 24; the "Dickinson" burger (2 6oz black angus burgers with 4 slices of hickory smoked bacon and 3 cheeses: great for a big eater like me and cooked a perfect medium rare: juicy but not to the point of being messy); broiled maryland crab cake sandwich with tartar sauce, also excellent. Staff was attentive and friendly. They have about 10-12 different sauces/variations for their wings that all sounded good, along with great sounding wraps, burgers, salads, steaks, etc. 5 beers (magic hat and shock top), a dozen wings, 3 entrees with hand cut fries: $58.00...well worth it! I will be back!

I hope a serious beer fan is reading this... if you're in the area you are probably thinking Market Cross or Cafe Bruge... trust me, I'm a professional, start here. Beer selection EXCELLENT, not as big as the other places but well thought out. Prices, good. Service, EXCELLENT (much better than any of the other beer bars) and food, GREAT! Really, just trust me and stop in. You will walk in, think what the hell was he talking about, then hear beer selection and try the food and thank me for the rest of your life. If there ever was such a thing, this is a diamond in the rough. Probably 4 stars, but I'm trying to make a point.

The best pub in Carlisle. Been here many times for both eat-in and takeout. Plenty of beers on tap, many local and micros available. Also plenty beers available in bottles and six packs to go. Atmosphere has a nice pub feel; waitstaff is very friendly, attentive, talkative, and helpful. They really know the drink and food menu. Peanuts in shell are on the tables when you walk in. Get the wings. Also recommended are the crab legs (once a week special) and sweet potato fries. There's a wing sauce on the menu made with ghost chiles; haven't had it yet but am eager to try it.

Endless peanuts and a surprisingly pleasant selection of Great Lakes and Troegs made lunch here more satisfying than I expected. Don't be mislead by the dim and mildly outdated decor. I had the blackened salmon salad, minus the salmon since they ran out last night. The chicken they substituted was seasons so well, and had a bit of a kick to it. Plus, the sweet potato fries were absolutely delicious. And the food came out relatively quickly - 15 minutes I'd say. Better than I expected, but far from the best. Our waitress could have been a bit more friendly. Also, it was very dark and almost seemed dive-barish with the numerous folding tables, plastic table cloths, and really dark lighting. For your reference, we were there on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm and were one of only a few tables in the restaurant.

We had a good time with fun staff. The food was decent and reasonably priced, but I don't think I would go out of my way to return. I recommend this place for a casual dinner, but not a night out.

The waitress's shirt said they were famous for their wings. I can't see how. Poorly cut and unattractive wings with barely any sauce, just tasted like fried wings. Dingy place. The saving grace was the fries. Hand cut and greasy. Would not go back.

Totally lame place. Tried to go there during their clamed open hours, but they just decided to close early because they have no customers. Guess we dodged a bullet of crappy food?? A waste of time going down there to get a large take out order. Never recommend and will never go back.

I visited with four other classmates from the war college. Service was slow but polite - they must have been under-staffed. Not a big deal. The big deal that felt like writing about was the quality of the food. The vegetable of the day was broccoli that was cooked to a nearly liquid state, and canned green beans with peppers that were nearly as badly over cooked. The chicken wings were not good pieces of chicken to begin with, and the sauces seemed to be added as an after-thought, with splashes of sauce over the groups of wings. Some wings had no sauce on them period. My peers didn't have meals that were as bad as mine, but none of them had anything so good that I felt the food I had orders was far outside of the restaurant's standard quality.

Nice rotating beer selection. The sandwiches and wraps are very tasty. My favorite wrap is the southwestern wrap. It's got a nice kick to it. I go to North Hanover Grille once a week, and have yet to be disappointed. Their desserts are also delicious if you can manage to save some room!

The Grille is one of my favorite places to dine, I've been coming here for years...and I'm never disappointed. They have a wide selection of beers on draft with plenty others in bottles. You can create your own six pack or just grab a couple to go. Their menu has a wide variety of entrees including burgers, sandwiches, pasta, steaks and seafood. But I really enjoy their wings, and usually hit them up on Tuesdays to take advantage of wing night (45 cent wings). They have many other offers throughout the week, such as college night and armed services night...where the Grille offers discounts. For those that like it HOT, they have some wings called "Insanity Wings", and boy they are extremely hot...you may want to be a little cautious, or have some milk on hand. They have a super friendly staff and plenty of off street parking.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Carlisle. I usually end up ordering a delicious sandwich or wrap off of the specials menu (specials come with fries or soup). This place is consistently good with great service and a lunch punch card that rewards me for coming back!

I was traveling back to Maryland on the PA Turnpike and spotted a Billboard for Carlisle PA. Decided to exit and take the 3 mile trek down to have some lunch. I found this place and had lunch. A very charming little place with great food and excellent service. Very clean and comfortable atmosphere. I had the Acropolis Chicken it was very good and the prices were reasonable as well. Will definitely go back the next time I am in the area and would recommend it to my fellow Turnpike travelers looking for a good meal.

Was in town for a wedding and literally stumbled upon this place. I had a chicken salad for lunch that was tasty. It was a hard choice with so many good options on the menu. The service was fast and friendly. I'm not sure that I've ever had service better than I had here. I highly recommend this place for lunch.

They have really good wings here, but that isn't the only thing they do well. They make excellent burgers and give you more than enough fries with your meal. It can be a little bit crowded sometimes but it's usually worth it.

Great food! I had the Phil wrap and my husband had the wings. Delicious! Homemade chips and fries too. We definitely recommend!

Dickinson burger is very good. I've been twice and had the same thing both times. Each time was enjoyable and filling. About as good as you can get for this type of restaurant. I would recommend this place to most people but definitely not the gem of Carlisle. Great burgers and fries. I will go back.

My friends and I still reminisce about wing night at North Hanover Grill. I've been all over and nothing compares- the wings are meaty and all the sauces are great. Combine that with the pitcher beer specials...and well, we still talk about it years later. If you're in Carlisle, especially on a Tuesday night, it's worth the wait for a table.

This place is packed. Expect to wait if you come after 6 pm. Had the wings and a burger. The wings were some of the best I have tasted. The burger was very moist and cooked to perfection. Yeah the atmosphere is a bit noisy and cramped but come on do you go to a place so you can look around or to eat. Would definitely come back and order twice as many wings with a variety of sauces. It is off the toll road a bit but worth the visit. Wish I had time to walk the stores after dinner.

Not good. Came here bc the reviews were good. Food so so. Decent prices. The place was small and cold, even with the fireplace.

We've been here about a gazillion times and I had never had the wings. They are amazing! SO tasty - great beer selection and fantastic service. Great small town feel, where if you go in a few times, they remember you like the baklava (which is homemade by a Mom, by the way). Just a great place to eat, all the way around (and seriously - have the wings).

Didn't like it, it had a good crowd, but the food was just not that good to me and I didn't enjoy the restaurant's decor.

Sometimes all I'm looking for is a beer and some wings in a place where I won't have to worry much about sauce on my face. To my surprise I was shocked to find real potato fries, you know like back in the day where you peel and cut before you fry? The delish kind. I'll make sure to return. Ps. Everyone is right about the service being great too.

The service was great, my crabcake sandwich was surprisingly good & really fresh. Definitely a locals-type bar, which I loved. Great beer list - and really friendly staff! Next time I'm in Carlisle, I'm heading in for another beer... and maybe a burger.

friendly place... lots of locals. come in for a pint and relax... strike up a conversation with the bar. nothing fancy here... but then they are not trying to be!

The best place in town for wings - or anything else you might be wanting. Wing nights are Tuesdays - .35 wings - and with over 15 flavors of wings dont expect to be able to walk in and get a seat. This place gets packed and the wait is long - so call a day ahead for a reservation or go a bit later in the evening. The menu features one of a kind wraps and specials. My favorite is the Aegean Chicken wrap. Great beer list and excellent staff. And the peanuts are a favorite as well.
