My Husband and I had diner last night. I was hesitant because of reviews, but we decided to go for it. The food was delicious! Hubby ordered Walleye, crab cake ( huge all crab) and crab stuffed mushrooms. The walleye was melt in your mouth fresh! The sides, mashed and some amazing breaded green beans. I ordered prime rib, fries and onion soup. My meal was delicious. We had iced tea and 2 drinks. The bill was only 65$. Can't wait to go back! Left feeling like we had a special date night out!

Only getting around to writing this because the restaurant happened to appear near the top of the page when I opened the yelp app. WHY CAN'T I ORDER WINGS BEFORE 9:00??? This place could be a wonderful small family owned local bar-restaurant. But the service sucks. Well the bar service sucks. I mean horribly. I've stopped a couple times for 'happy hour' and had to wait for a beer with only a handful of patrons at the bar. I've had to wait 40 mins to receive a menu from the bartender, having asked twice. Finally a server was behind the bar pouring drinks and I asked her for a refill and a menu. I actually ended up ordering from her and the food was run out by another server/busser. What happened to the bartender?! The food is mediocre at best. Your typical Sysco/US Food service fair. You can tell when the kitchen is getting crushed because the food comes out dripping in oil. Straight from the fryer basket to the plate. I've really only stopped because they were good about getting newly released seasonal beers (reason for 2 stars), but they are over priced, and don't ever really have anything hard to come by. And again, why can't I order wings at the bar before 9:00? It's been a few months since my last visit, so maybe the wing policy has changed, but I still found that very strange. There are other places you can spend your money at and not feel like it isn't green enough.

I've heard some unpleasant things about W. Rick's, but I've yet to have any terrible experiences there. The only drawback I've ever found is the cramped walking space if you have to use the restrooms. That said, it's still very cozy and warm in it's own way. The food has always been delicious. The fish has been cooked perfectly and I like that they have a grilled portabello "burger" option for vegetarians. I usually leave with leftovers for the next day because of the size of the courses, so I have no issues with pricing.

I really want to like this restaurant - I like the location, the fact that it is a small business and not a chain, servers are generally friendly, etc. The menu presents a good variety and I have had some good meals there. One of their menu selections is 'Popper Chicken' - chicken breast stuffed with a jalapeño cream cheese mixture, then fried. When done right (and I mean done) it is great. However, twice in two years, it has been served to me or someone in my party raw in the middle. This happened again last night. It was served - we cut it in the middle and there was a hunk of raw chicken (like right out of the refrigerator raw - slimy / pink). Yuck. The server was apologetic and took it back to the kitchen - offering to get another. we did take it 'to go' (as it was about 15 minutes later and the rest of the party was done) Now accidents happen - I know it... and I think it is how the restaurant handles the mistakes that make all the difference. Personally, I think the kitchen supervisor or manager should have come over to offer apologies - and the meal (at least the raw-chicken-dish) should have been taken off the check. we are talking about raw chicken ... To the server's credit, she apologized and offered a free desert. Good for her ... and it was appreciated; however, I think an error like sending out raw chicken is a bit bigger deal than a free desert. ( my opinion). Sorry W. Ricks ... I think we're done for good this time.

My husband & I have been here several times in the past few years. We love to try their dinner specials & variety of craft drafts. We have never been disappointed & will be back soon! I'm very surprised to see the poor reviews on here. It is our favorite restaurant in Butler & rarely go anywhere else. If you like spicy food, try the Lobster ravioli or the Mardi Gras chicken & shrimp pasta. Yum! And their fish sandwich is HUGE & delicious! Just go there & see for yourself! :)

We go to W Ricks about every other week and usually have good service and good food. Portions are good size and we appreciate the wait staff remembering us and looking forward to seeing us.

The bad reviews must be old. This place was hopping, why? Because it was fantastic. Food was delicious, hot and came fast. There were several people taking care of us, making sure we had everything we needed but always under the radar. Their beer selection was varied, featuring local brewers as well as the classics. Prices were fair for the portion size. Everything was clean and accessible. I highly recommend it and will definitely be going there again.

First time visit! The food was ok except it was obvious the oil in their fryer was old. Dark fries! After lunch went to the bar side, the bartender kept sampling the beer.turned us off. Staff were fine.i would eat there again.

I've been here several times in the past, I have a favorate dish: Marti Gras. It is a pasta dish with chicken, shrimp, mushrooms, and the sauce is has a nice bite. If you don't like spicy food, I wouldn't worry, it's not overwhelming. On this particular visit our empty drinks were ignored by the busy waitress. The place is split in two, the restaurant and the bar. The bar is nonsmoking and has darts and foosball. You can also order food in the bar. A note: I don't usually get good cellular service here.

Nice feel of a local bar/resturant, but not exactly my first choice. As expected, the only vegan option on the menu was fries - OK, but I've had better. The beer selection was OKish - I had a seasonal Deshutes which was OK. Gf got a bizarre exectuion of a Manhattan. I did like the decor though - there's some cool pictures of Marylin and other period stuff. However, as Yelp says - "Meh."

Service was "Denny's like", food was okay. Depending on what your looking for this place isn't horrible but nothing memorable for sure. Place is clean too.

Bartender service is abysmal at best and hostile at worst. Food is slightly better than average compared to a bar of the same caliber. Atmosphere is decent except when the jukebox is blaring.

Great sandwich, cold beer, friendly people. With reasonable prices and a clean, comfortable bar there isn't much more than for which you could ask. If you're in the area, give it a shot. If you don't like it, you won't be out much money. As for atmosphere, I came on a fantasy football draft day, and it never got loud despite a room full of beer drinking sports fans (even after the draft was finished). I had a conversation with a couple of the local guys about sports, and they couldn't be friendlier. I definitely will be coming back!

Meeeehhhhhhhhh Place wasn't my favorite. They had decent prices but the food just wasn't that good. I ordered lamb and it was really TOUGH, like chew 10 times, then chew some more before it goes down. My Dad ordered baked fish it was really DRY but his sweet potato was AMAZING. Mom ordered a Pork Chop and a baked potato and she loved hers. So I'd stay away from the lamb & the fish, order the sweet potato and go for the pork chop and you should be much better than us!

I was in Butler for a zombie 5K race, joined up with some friend who live in the area for dinner, and they recommended W Rick's, mainly because of its location between their house and my hotel. At first, I thought my GPS had made a mistake, as this is located in a pretty rural residential area, but then...there it was, just popping up out of nowhere! Parking was pretty easy, and when we walked in there was no wait for a table, which was nice. Our server came by pretty quickly and got our drinks and appetizer order, but seemed to forget to see if anyone wanted refills after that initial trip. They also had a pretty limited beer and wine list. We ordered potato skins as an app, but since one of the people in our party is lactose intolerant, asked for the cheese on the side. What they brought us was a saucer covered in congealed melted cheese that had to be cut with a knife.....it wasn't very appetizing at all. Oh well....moving on. Of the five of us in the party, four of us got salad with our meal, one of whom selected raspberry vinaigrette dressing. When it came out, her dressing was so thick it looked like jello......really, she needed a knife to spread it over her salad...it was pretty gross. When the entrees came out, they looked appealing, which was a good start. One of the guys got the "Mardi Gras Chicken & Pasta", which he said was good but had a little too much Cajun seasoning, a little too hot for his taste. I got the "Monterrey Chicken and Pasta", which had an asiago cheese sauce. It was good but VERY salty, to the point that I could only eat about half of it....especially given that my drink had run out about 3 bites into it and our server never came back to bring a refill. Just one other odd observation........their restroom is WEIRD. Seriously......you have to go through not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR doors just to pee! And the hand dryer blows straight out at your chest, which makes drying your hands a little awkward. I know this doesn't really affect the meal, but it was strange nonetheless.

UPDATE, original review: I've eaten here three times since they opened and have never been wowed. The food, service and atmosphere are all just average. They boast about their prime rib which, when I had it was the second worst I have ever had. It was tough and chewy and appeared to be boiled rather than broiled. NEW REVIEW: I was contacted by the manager and asked to come back, so I did, 3 times, anonymously. Normally, I would not dream of doing this, but I wanted to be fair. Now, I have to say, if I were to re-review this establishment, it would be more of a detriment than an improvement, so I will just to stick with my original review, the food and service are all just average. I ate nothing that I could say, "wow, that was really good."

Well, a few years ago I went there and it was fantastic. Now, it is bullcrap. In October of this year, I got their Oktoberfest platter and it was like processed garbage, also a baked potato I got was burned. (how in the heck can that happen?) A few days ago I got the buffalo chicken salad, and it took them 30 minutes to bring out. go here if you want bad food and bad service.
