When reviewing a business you have to take into consideration their core business. China Star is a take-out and delivery Chinese business in the USA. To give them a bad review because it didn't compare to the "authentic" food you just had while visiting China is unreasonable. If you want that go to Pin Wei but I warn you it is the real deal and most can't stomach the real deal. China Star offers and cooks the same menu items that 95% of the Chinese takeout joints in the U.S. offer. The food is always good, fresh and, hot. I like the seafood and pan noodles a lot (real lobster tail.) I also like the spare ribs as a quick treat. The kids love the chicken or shrimp. The soups are good too. Again this is not a Michelin rated restaurant and nor would you want it to be. You ordered take-out remember. (They deliver in Bridgeport and King of Prussia only) Just about everything is under $10.00 and most is $5.00 or less. Grab a cold can of Sunkist orange soda on the way out and enjoy your awesome fast food. On a side note is also a hoot listening to the kitchen workers. They always seem to be having a ball back there.

My sister was visiting from NC and we were exhausted from a long travel with a hunger in our bellies that only Chinese can cure. Cue China Star. The food met expectations and delivered the sweet, salty, fried, sauced goodness we craved after hours of stale car air. The chicken lo mein my sister ordered was tasty and not drenched in soy or oversalted like some places. My General Tso's was all I expected. I've had better, but this was on par with most. The crab rangoons had a decent amount of cheese/faux crab mix in the pouches, and my spouse's sweet and sour chicken was sweet, not sour. Their pork fried rice was worthy of note, with fresh veggies and dime-sized hunks of pork. Service was friendly and prompt. All in all, a-okay.

I went to China for a month in 2009 and had the best Chinese food ever. All I've got to say about this place is Yuckie!!! This is why I try to stay away from Chinese food in the US....cause it tastes like this.

Not the "best" Chinese food I've ever had, but gets the job done. Pretty run of the mill and has the usual 10 minute wait time. General Tso's wasn't bad and rice was average. Portion was also on par with the norm. Bottom line; Run of the mill.

I really like this place, they're very friendly and speak English fairly well. The food is above average and doesn't make my tummy hurt (which is usually common for Chinese food) so I say good job. Prices are pretty standard and competitive for the area. Let me also just mention, this is by far one of the cleanest kitchens for a Chinese place I've seen around. (Stay away from Norristown Chinese , yuck)

This is Bridgeport's solid local Chinese takeout place. Been going here for years. Friendly staff and they always have my food ready within 10 minutes. There's some bogus reviewer from Austin, TX that left a bad review saying it wasn't authentic like when they visited China. If you can see through that nonsense and recognize you're in Bridgeport you'll find a fine takeout establishment.

China Star is my go to chinese place because of their location and portions. Their general tso's is better then some of the other places I have tried in the KOP area. China Star is a pretty standard chinese take-out restaurant with a short wait and fair prices.

Shrimp rolls cooked in old oil. Pork lo mein was very sub par. Not worth the price for the stomach ache

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
