The soup/salad/pasta bar is a nice addition to your meal but the all food is just average. Its not bad but definitely nothing to write home about either. Everything we received fresh, made to order and there was a lot of it so you definitely get a lot for your dollar. If you want something close, convenient and just want to catch a semi nice dinner if you happen to be staying at the hotel next door it serves it's purpose.

I went here a while ago to see the Pay per View UFC fight and it was GREAT. No cover and the place was not packed like other places in the Valley that show the fight. We were able to get a booth and enjoy the salad bar and leisurely watch the matches. Also very affordable. Not amazing food but very good for fight night and I liked having the healthy option of the salad bar.

This is what TGI Fridays or applebees would look like if it was run by Italians. The food is decent if uncreative Italian food. The pizza with shrimp and arugula was good but unimaginative. Drinks: decent wine beer list but nothing to go out of your way for. Staff was very friendly and took the time to say more than two words to me even though it was crowded and busy. Multiple TV's in the bar area so it's a good place to go watch the game. Prices are good for the quality. All in all not a bad place just not that special.

Ate here last night as a back up for going to Musikfest since at the we were heading it out it decided to start raining. They only have Happy Hour in the bar section so we decided to sit there. I guess it was 1/2 off appetizers and then a measly $1 off any drink....only $1 seriously? What's Happy about that?! We started with a dirty martini made with gin and their blue steel martini, which was described as Stoli vodka, fresh muddled blueberries, thyme, simple syrup and I think lime. Firstly the "dirrty" part of the martini was missing. There was nothing dirrty about it my boyfriend didn't enjoy it at all. And for mine which I was heavily anticipating, it came out blue in color like blue juice with herbs sprinkled on top and a sad looking lime. Where were the fresh muddled blueberries I was promised? Again m.i a but it tasted good just maybe change the description. Food we ordered the capreese to start and it was excellent but it came sitting on a bed of romaine lettuce, why I ask? It isn't needed, it didn't add to the presentation and it was just plain wasteful. Now for meals it comes with the soup, salad, and pasta bar which can be summed up in one word: lame. There was premade ceasar salad and regular romaine lettuce, various toppings, cold pasta, horrible stuffed grape leaves. Just not needed. Entrees we got: the grilled salmon with dill sauce and a loaded baked potato, which loaded meant butter and sour cream. No bacon? No cheese? No chives? Another sigh of let down. But the salmon and dill sauce were extremely fantastic delicious. My boyfriend got the 2 filet medallions with a lobster tail and a "loaded baked potato" . When the waitress brought the food she said she'd be right back with the melted butter for the lobster tail and 20 min go by and my boyfriend literally had to wave her down to ask about it and she passed the blame onto someone else. RULE ONE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TAKE OWNERSHIP! So when he finally got to eat the lobster it was cold and not fresh. Ended dinner with 2 more drinks can't remember the names but the were full of ice. I hate that really. For the amount of upcharge places charge lay off the ice please. Also we ordered 2 shots of tequila with lemons because the waitress said the limes were dried out and gross....so why have them? Last complaint: mid way through our experience the hostess and our waitress set up a high top table for a rather large party like right the f*** next to us. Why?! They were so loud that I couldn't hear my boyfriend talk and vice versa. Please learn how to sit properly or hey offer Happy Hour throughout the entire restaurant. Light bulb moment. All in all it was Okay. My salmon was the saving grace for me. Will we be back when when come up here each year:No.

This is a local standby for us; it's good for nights that I just don't feel like cooking. I wouldn't go for a nice night out or a date night. Decent place for happy hour and to watch a game. The salad bar is good, fresh, and nice variety (though I wish they'd add the sausage and pasta section back!). The service is good - the servers are all super nice. Food is good (their pasta sauce is really good, so are the wings, portions are big). My kids can always find something they like too (besides pizza or chicken fingers). The atmosphere is a little dark. Bring a sweatshirt -- it's always chilly inside!

Have been here now three times. The salad bar is very impressive. Soup. Salad. Cold salads and pasta. The cold pesto very good. Service was basic and not impressive. The salmon was very good. Eggplant parm was ok not great. Total bill $42.00. Will be back because it is good enough

Ate at this Italian place yesterday because they had a amazing groupon to use. The place itself appeared clean and the wait staff very friendly. So why the one star you may be wondering. The only meal my boyfriend and I ate yesterday was at this restaurant. Shortly after eating at 3pm I started to experience stomach pains and awful (I'll spare you the details) side effects. Now I ordered an Italian sea food dish with pasta. My boyfriend experienced similar effects hours after eating. I believe it is safe to say we contracted some food sickness from this place. Gotta love food poisoning - wait actually monk don't have to love it but I do have to now suffer with it until my body can fight it off. Thanks a lot Florence Italian grille - needless to say we will NOT EVER be returning and I suggest others stay away as well.

Meh... Wing's were underdone and the salad I ordered off the menu was scooped from the salad bar by the waitress. Beer's good. I'm a captive audience because I'm staying at the hotel in the parking lot, so I guess they don't give a shit.

This is my second time here and it was delicious both times. The salad bar is packed with choices and their soups are really good. I left the restaurant stuffed and with food to take home.

An average casual Italian eatery. Nothing fancy or worth writing home about. They have a nice salad bar, with a lot of good choices. I've had their pasta, which was decent. Their pizza isn't that great, the crust and cheese taste like "microwave quality". As in, doughy and chewy. I recommend sticking to the salad bar. The restaurant itself is comfortable, with plenty of seating. The prices are decent. They have a lot of TVs going, with a remote audio selector at each table so you can listen to the TV you want at your table. Problem is, a lot of them don't work. We sat at 4 different tables before we found a channel selector that actually functioned. Overall, I don't think I'll be back here anytime soon.

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because they have good drink specials and a great set up for watching your favorite sports teams. The outdoor seating is very nice as well. Don't even think about picking up a menu and being tempted to order. Food here is putrid.

Really enjoy the salad bar here, especially on Sundays when they have wings and pizza included. However, sometimes the service is very slow. Not my first choice for a dinner spot, but every now and then it fits the bill.

Wings were very good. Pasta and entrees were typical barilla/grocery store caliber fare however good for money and ambiance of restaurant.

Caveat - this review is based on an entree salad and bread only, and on one visit. Okay, that aside, it wasn't great. On a business trip, I used Yelp to find a near-by restaurant and ordered carry-out. Here's my run-down: GOOD: - It's a nice looking facility from the outside, with good parking. - They've got "carry out, 10 minute" parking spots right at the door - nice. - The bar tender (from whom I got my carry out) was very nice, warm, friendly, etc. LESS GOOD: - My grilled chicken caesar salad was SWIMMING in slimy white stuff, which I assume was a pint of caesar dressing. WAY too much for anyone, even one who might like heavy dressing. - The bread that came with my salad was two generic dinner rolls, obviously from a bag. Even the grocery store's bakery section has better bread than this. Big let-down for an Italian restaurant! - The environment inside is confusing. It's dimly lighted and looks like a casual, sit-down restaurant, but not Italian in any way. That's fine. But the bar is a weird mix of part sports-bar and part Applebee's bar. It's weird to see a suspended ceiling in a restaurant like this, and about half the ceiling tiles were GREEN. At some point, did they glue green felt on them, like a billiard table? Are they doing some slow renovation? There were no other signs of one... Very weird. So I ate my soupy salad and generic dinner rolls in my little hotel room. Wish I'd found another spot to try. Maybe your luck will be better.

Ok, so tonight my husband orders their stuffed shrimp. The shrimp was so tiny and they only gave four. My Husband takes one bite and is disgusted, says it tastes terrible. Oh and the side of broccoli was ice cold. We tell the waitress and she asks if he would like something else, he refused, and she even says what ever he'd like would be complementary on the house. He still said no thank you. I finished my meal which was not as good as usual but it was ok. Then when she brings the check she says my husband has to pay for half the meal! Half! He took one bite. $20 for 4 tiny shrimp, I guess one bite looks like the meals gone. So we had to pay $10 for one bite of food. Plus, the manager never once came to talk to us. He had the waitress do all his dirty work. We'll as you can see see from my prior post, I am a regular. I will never step foot in that place again. So I hope they enjoyed taking my $10 for one bite of food cause they will never see my money again! Disgusted, have an ounce of class, I've never once sent something back, so if it happened, it means the food was awful. I shouldn't have to pay for your mistake.

Average. Happy with my wings but entree was strictly average. Baked ziti add grilled chicken. Nice atmosphere cheap beer actually cheaper than my iced tea. No free refills on tea and I get my check and charged 5$ for tea. What?? Not happy with that but whatever. Will come back but get a different entree and a $2 beer instead.

I was expecting pasta selections on the pasta bar. Well, they had only cold pasta selections and to me that is just a SALAD bar. For a pasta bar, there should be at least one or more hot pasta selections. I was not even expecting meat sauces. The salad bar here so diner-like but was full of instead small flying fruit flies. I saw an employee swat at them when he was refilling the salad bar. I should have left then...but I wanted to wait for my baked ziti with meat sauce. It was some ziti and meat sauce underneath a piece of melted cheese ...trying so much to be "baked". Not even close. This pasta spread out once I picked at the cheese. Again, so diner like. U get the feeling that the owner also operates diners. The staff's attitude was depressed and totally uncaring. I next time will bypass this "grill" and will pay as a guest at the many local colleges-universities for a much better meal.

Olive Garden's strategy is based on: Italian food is delicious but it is also simple and doesn't require expensive ingredients, so why charge a lot for it? Florence Italian Grill's strategy is based on: Olive Garden is a joke. We can give you better food, more of it, and at an even lower price. Do they succeed at this goal? Mostly. They have a menu similar to that of Olive Garden, but with a major difference: access to an all-you-can-eat Soup/Salad bar while your meal is being prepared. Not only does this include your typical Caesar salad and Italian wedding soup, but it also has what I describe as "technically salads" such as pasta salad, fruit salad, etc. In theory (and in practice) you can fill yourself up before your meal even arrives, meaning that you will either leave overly-stuffed, or with lots of leftovers. However, the one thing that has always seemed peculiar is the lack of the bread at the salad bar or with the meal. Italians love bread. Bread is tasty. Bread goes well with everything. Bread is cheap. Why no bread? It may be harsh, but it's a one-star reduction.

Stopped in on the way to our hotel across the street. It was very similar to your average Olive Garden with the decor. It was very empty when we arrived but I wouldn't expect a packed Italian restaurant at 2 pm on a Sunday. Our waitress Daphne was very nice and honest about what food was good and what wasn't. We have a very loud family and she was super accommodating. Wasn't expecting the food to be good for a small restaurant that had so many specials but it was very surprising that the wings were so good. We ordered three different kinds since their was a wing special for 35 cents each how can you pass that up. The sweet and sour was my favorite but the boys loved the crying Cajun. I had a small personal pie that wasn't anything spectacular but it was still fairly good. The burgers and fries however were cooked perfectly and were really delicious. We will probably stop by for dinner while on vacation.

I gave this a four, first based on the extensive soup & salad bar which was very good and next because of the excellent service our table was given by the friendly server named Ebony. The Italian wedding soup was not salty and was flavorful. The salad bar had lots of choices including pasta. The entree's were good portions. There were no complaints at our table of five. Eggplant was delicious, as was the fish & pork chop dinners. The early bird specials are a great deal for the price. Only minus... there were no paper placemats. Florence Grill is above the average Italian eatery. This was our first visit and we will definitely eat there again.

We wanted to like this place so much when we first moved into the area about four years ago. I loved the setup, how it was broken up into a fine dining area, the bar area and the semicircle-style dinner table area with four giant projection televisions to watch any sporting event. It seemed like it was the type of restaurant that would be "our place" for a long time, but it wasn't meant to be. The food is good, not great, but definitely alright. They have a better-than-average salad bar and a decent beer selection. The beer specials and even the overall entree prices were more than reasonable. However, THE SERVICE IS AWFUL. I'm all about giving places second, even third chances. And we liked this place so much that we gave it way more than that (6,7,8...), but everytime I was there the service was an issue. Whether it was busy or almost dead, it took FOREVER to get food, drinks, anything. The only time I ever remember getting even moderate service was when I brought a group of 10+ to eat and watch the Phillies game before we went out for the evening. But time and time again, it would take an hour or more for food to get out to us, drinks wouldn't be asked to be refilled and even getting your check at the end of the meal was an issue. The last time I was there I went to the restroom when I first got there and someone had emptied the paper towels and thrown them all over the bathroom floor and walls. Now I know this wasn't there fault, but I went and told somebody who worked there that it happened so they knew. Over an hour later, before I left I went to the restroom again and no one had touched it. Still a mess. Just not a good way to run a restaurant, in my opinion. Now it's been probably over a year since we've been there and maybe the ownership has changed as I've seen the last few reviews have been positive. Like I said before, I've always wanted to like this place and if the wait staff can do a decent job I might be willing to try it again. Overall I'd give the place a D+/C-

What a pleasant surprise. From the outside this place looked like a Crapplebee's and the frenetic bar with shouting customers and a dozen TVs didn't seem promising either. But. The food was on the upside of good, but not quite great. Still, everything was tasty and well prepared. The soup, salad and pasta bar was very good too, though I restrained myself figuring the portion size of the entree would be huge. It was. The dessert (Peanut Butter Bomb) was really good and our double espressos were good too. The biggest surprise was the wine special - half price bottles. Suddenly that amazing Chianti Classico seemed affordable! Overall we had a good time.

A group of us arranged a small meet up here and were pleased with everything. Food was very good, not a complaint in the group. I had the caprese salad and it was perfect! Fresh mozzarella, small tomatoes, and the perfect amount of salad. Cappuccino was awesome. Wine was generous. Salad bar was amazing. Staff was very accommodating and pleasant. They were attentive to our group without being overly bearing. I would definitely not hesitate to eat here again. Enjoyed it very much.

My first review of this place was very favorable and I wrote it after going here many times. This is a revised review. What a difference a few short months can make. In my opinion, this place is now a train wreck. --The food: 1.-- How can a steam tray full of hard crusty dried out chicken parts and some ketchup bottles filled with Pete's hot sauce nearby be called hot wings? 2. Why does an Italian restaurant not know that pizza should be served hot and that the crust should not be so limp and white, it flops like a wet noodle? 3. How does bleu cheese dressing have no bleu cheese and taste more like mayonnaise than salad dressing? 4. If rolls are going to be served, why offer ones that taste like they were made with sawdust? I could go on but why? --The service: 1. I have a half full beer in front of me, why do you keep offering to bring me another, it gets annoying and makes me feel as if you are not paying attention. 2. Where are you when I need something. Why do I have to search out extra napkins on my own? 3. "Oh sorry, were you watching that game? We will try to fix that TV soon." Ugh. I came here because I could not get the game at my home. 15 minutes later... --The manager: This guy is NOT a manager. Unbelievably, I think he is the owner. When I questioned my check because the price charged for the salad bar was $10.99 instead of the $8.99 listed on the menu, he said they charged more on the weekend. Huh? I'm sorry, but the price on the menu is the price I agree to pay when I order.. After he acknowledge the menu mistake, he tried to make me feel bad by observing that I was the only one to notice and complain. What?! Is this a stupid person. There is one thing a restaurant should NEVER EVER do--make a mistake and then try to blame it on the customer. Why would anyone risk souring a patron to save his ego? To read my first review of this place, read below: NOTE: IT IS SAD HOW MUCH OF THIS HAS GONE AWAY...ESPECIALLY THE QUALITY OF THE PIZZA and THE SERVICE. I went here in search of pizza; Florence did not disappoint. Berks and Lehigh counties are loaded with pizza joints and most of them could serve pizza or repair shoes with their leathery crusts--chewy thick dough topped by something red and high fat cheese that oozes onto anything nearby. Ok, so not a very high bar to surpass but Florence does a more than competent job of it. I am a fan of simple fare. One of the fixes local pizzerias use to cure their ills is to load up their "za" with the kitchen sink approach to toppings--dump everything on with lots of cheese. Not a fan. I'll take a simple Margherita or plain cheese pizza any day. Florence's pizza dough is thin enough to eat several slices; a whole pie in my case without feeling stuffed. The salad bar is in a word, amazing. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. There are always three soups available, numerous prepared salad choices including antipasta, and macaroni, and fresh sliced fruit. I would have given Florence 5 stars but I like to hold one star in reserve just in case. So, if you crave fresh pizza, give Florence a try. Note: My favorites are the Margherita with fresh tomatoes, fresh mozerella and basil (of course) and the Yours Truly--a more traditional thin crust pizza with two free toppings. I usually eat one there and order one to take along as they reheat better than any pizza around. ( The mark of really great za)

A family owned restaurant, off the beaten path of Rt 100, next to the Hilton Garden Inn. They took a former Damon's and added a few Italian touches. They have a quiet dining room, a bar area and a separate TV room. A soup and salad buffet, with a few other items are offered daily. Sundays have a much larger brunch buffet with made to order omelets, waffles, prime rib and etc. A much better day to dine. There is also a full Italian menu (though not available until after the Sunday brunch). The service is average, but they do manage to handle large groups quite well.

Best wings around and I lived in Buffalo for 10 years. I usually go between 5-7 (happy hour) and sit in the renovated bar area. The appetizer menu, which includes the wings, is 1/2 off. So, that's 20 wings for $8.99. The wings are HUGE. You have to ask for them extra crispy. Beer is also $1 off and other drinks are cheaper. The service is a bit slow, but very friendly. The salad bad is also a good value and they have an early bird menu that is dirt cheap and it includes the salad bar. Sam, the owner, has continuously improved the business since he bought it about 3-4 years ago and the place looks great. A nice family restaurant that shows that it cares.

I've been to this place twice, once with a half off the valley coupon. The food is very average. As another person mentioned, it seems very little is freshly made. The first time I was there the bread was good, the second time it was dried out and seemed as if it was reheated several times. Service was mixed as well, the first time there the server was above average, the second time the waitress seemed to be clueless. There are not many good Italian choices nearby, but I would not recommend this one.

Stopped in for appetizers and a vino. Wings are 1/2 off tonight-great! I'll take 10!! They flour and fry I find out. I ask for no flour(they call it naked). Well, they came out flour-fried strike one. I asked for the sauces on the side - in a word vinegar. Their sauces are not made from scratch, they're poured out of a bottle. Needless to say, I sent this back. Ordered FLATBREAD & got PIZZA. WTF?? Restrooms & public areas are freezing - no heat. Tired, I paid for the bill, packed up the PIZZA & handed it to someone who would appreciate it. Not sure how this place stays open. Not recommended.

Nice atmosphere- a strange combination between a TGIF, Olive Gardern and a sports bar. Food was good, Guinness on draft better Service was superior (partially because the place was empty). I would recommend the place and the pasta Cheers

Florence offers one of the best salad bars in the Lehigh Valley - great selection of fresh lettuces and vegetables - also includes a choice of soups and pastas. The service is friendly and efficient - good bar and giant big screens for watching the game. We live nearby and are frequent visitors.

Unfortunate typical Bar & Grille by I - 78. Portions are large, price is reasonable, but most food is Sysco food. My waiter was not attentive. The manager did check in on every table. Waiter said calamari was fresh but I don't think it was. Fries are frozen. Pasta was hot, bread may have been home made. Salad was mostly iceburg lettuce. Salad dressing ( 100 Islands ) was supposedly home made but again tasted like Sysco to me. Marinar sauce with calamari was fesh tasting. Most people took a doggie bag with them. If there were to do more fresh food, this place could be a winner. How hard is it to cut a real potato and fry it!

I'm not a big salad guy but the salad bar is incredible! You can do an all you can eat salad bar for 9.99 that even included pasta and sausage and peppers! Good stuff. Also enjoyed the Italian Wedding soup!

Pretty good for the price. The salad bar is good. It includes soup, salad, and pasta... making this a nicestop for a quick lunch. The atmosphere is a little odd for an Italian restaurant, but it was originally designed to be a sports bar. They seem to have some good specials during NFL games, but we haven't tried them.

If you are looking for a restaurant that has it all please check out Florence. They are now offering kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entree. They also have four huge big screens for sporting events and they run great drink specials. Don't forget about the huge outside patio/lounge.

Very nice atmosphere... well decorated. Most of the entrees come with a soup, salad, AND pasta bar. How can you argue. It was all very good and the prices were right. I'll probably be back. Only complaint is that my chicken parm was a little overcooked. I didn't complain about it though. A very nice experience and I recommend you try it out.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
