I visited chalkboard recently for a beer and to watch a pirates game. The draft selection was great, bar tender was knowledgeable and friendly, and they have several large tvs at the bar. I ate dinner before I got there but the kitchen smelled fantastic.

So unlike most reviews, I don't immediately slam or call a place the next coming. So here we go. This is based on 3 visits, getting completely different food and beer choices. Food is definitely good, but really overpriced for portion size. Beer selection is nice, but again, overpriced. $8 for a 12% Scottish 10oz pour. I have no issue paying for things and Im far from cheap. But at those prices the bar is making over $450 profit from a half barrel if they're paying $250. I can go to HO1KB and get the same thing for $2 less our more, easily. The place itself is small. The bar only has 8 stools. Not that it matters, but if there's any kind of business you're not getting a seat. The staff is great though, attentive and kind. Quick to talk about anything, whether beer or menu selections. I'll go back for sure, but not as a regular...

I went one time and was very disappointed in the chicken with cheese stick wrap. The portion of fries was small too for the price you pay. Haven't been back yet due to bad 1st impression!

Been here twice, once was just for beer. Which I must say, given the location they had a pretty awesome selection of beer. The second time I came I shared a hightop table in the bar area with another guest. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy sandwich and added fries. The sandwich was good, shrimp had a good crunch to it. I wish they would have given a little more than the small amount of fries, especially since you gotta pay extra for them.

I went here for lunch on a Tuesday. This is their first day of the week so the menu was somewhat limited due to their prep not being done until 4pm. It was no problem because they still had plenty of choices. I didn't order a beer but they had an impressive list of bottles and drafts. My food was outstanding. I got a General Tso's chicken wrap which was really tasty and different. I just wish they out a little more sauce on the chicken, but it was still delicious. My only complaint is the portion size of the French fries. I expected it to be a little more generous but no biggy. Overall, it's a nice little spot that you wouldn't expect to find in the area.

A nice quaint little restaurant. There's not many in our area and it's nice to have a place with a variety of options so close. I hope they stick around for a long time!

If you haven't been here, then you NEED to get here! Awesome drinks, and the food specials are unique and delicious. I've never had a bad experience here. It's truly a great place to go for a good lunch or a great night out!

The food is overpriced for the portions given and my to go order was so sour I couldn't eat it. I wouldn't recommend eating there if you had a choice

Came here on a Thursday night for something quick to eat. The place is a house made restaraunt so I has a very home feel to it. The menu changes daily and even hourly depending on what they feel like making. I had the stuffed flounder with rice pilaf and it was great! The people next to us had the crab cakes and were raving about them. I don't think your going to get a bad meal out of here. All prices are very reasonable for the food. Also have a lot of great craft beer that rotates often. Beer prices are a little high for the area but that would not make me stay away from here. They also have outdoor seating for at least 20 people. Menu is an actual hand held chalkboard that they bring to your table. I love the concept of this place and I will be making this a regular place of mine.

This place is always a good choice!!! Great desserts and an awesome selection of imported beers on draft as well as a creative mixed drink selection. The staff here is also excellent and very friendly. Definently a diamond in the rough a must try for sure!!!!

We were looking for a local non-chain place and we definitely found it! The dining room was small and cozy, not many tables in there, although there is seating on the porch and bar area - I'm not sure if there is additional seating in the house or not, but the original woodwork and decor made for an immediate sense of comfort and relaxation. We were acknowledged immediately by Sydney (sp?), who smiled and pointed us to a table advising she would be right with us. She asked if this was our first visit and proceeded to explain the items that never change, versusu the menu items that change daily. She was very friendly, quick, and knowledgeable about the menu. I might also add that the menu is on the smaller side, but contained an interesting mix of options. We started with the fried pretzels and beer cheese. Very good, not overly greasy, nice and warm when brought to the table. We both decided on daily items, I went with the spinach noodles, chicken and mushrooms tetrazzini and he chose the sweet and sour pork. both portions were hearty (I didn't finish mine) and tasted very good. Don't get me wrong, this is more along the lines of comfort food with a twist than "to die for" foodie fare - but that seems to be the intention here. We got dessert to go and were thanked for coming and invited back to become regular custoemrs. Bottom line, good food, GREAT service, nice ambiance - we will definitely be adding the Chalkboard Cafe to our dinner rotations.
